Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Stress and Pain Relief Podcast. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Now, there's going to be two versions of this recording.

One with and one without music. The one with music lasts for about two hours. So if you fancy really, really letting go and maybe drifting off to sleep, then the one with music may be just what you need.

So this is going to be a technique. It's probably not going to be a very long recording in itself. But then, you know me, I like to waffle.

So maybe I might make it last longer than it needs to be. So the basic idea behind this, the idea, the eye, it's about the eye. It's about our eyes.

And I'm going to ask you to focus on a part of your body that has physical discomfort. So maybe either chronic pain or you can feel stress in that part of your body currently. Okay, I'm also then going to ask you to focus on a part of your body that feels really relaxed.

A part that feels very calm, very comfortable, maybe even pleasurable, you know, depends on how you're feeling. So when I ask you to focus on each individual part of your body, you know, the one where's the physical discomfort currently, and the part of your body that feels completely relaxed. I'm going to ask you to have your eyes closed.

To start with, when I ask you to focus on the part that's physically, perhaps not very pleasant, I'll ask you to open your left eye and focus on that part. And then I'm going to ask you to close your eyes again and focus on the relaxed, you know, the calm part and open your right eye and close your eyes again. Focus on the part of your body which maybe was not feeling so great.

Open your left eye, focus on that. And then close your eye again. Open your right eye focusing on the relaxed part.

And so on and so on. And what you may find is when you're the part of your body, which has the physical discomfort, is ready to almost join together with the part of your body that is really, really relaxed and comfortable. When it's when that part of your body is ready to absorb that relaxation, that deep healing comfort that the other part of your body naturally has right now, your eyes will start to get tired.

So when I ask you to focus on the discomfort part of your body, whether it's stress or pain, your left eye will open. And when it starts to get tired, that's a sign that your that part of your body is willing to absorb the calmness and the deep relaxation connected to your right eye when it's open. And it may seem a bit strange, but I think it's something that we can do now.

So I'd like you to get those two parts of your body already organized in your mind. We're going to start off focusing with your left eye on that part of your body, which was caused you a degree of discomfort. So focusing as you open your left eye, focusing on that part of your body, just focusing on the physical feeling.

And now close your left eye and open your right eye as you think about the part that's relaxed. And close your right eye again. And again, lifting your left eye open as you focus on that feeling of discomfort.

Closing your eye again. Open your right eye, focusing on the parts of comfort. The parts that feel relaxed and loose.

And maybe that sense of looseness and calmness is actually spreading further than just that part of your body. Closing your eyes and open your left eye again. Focusing on that part of your body from before.

And you'll notice your eyelids really are getting heavier. So you might just decide to keep your eyes closed from now on. Because that feeling of trying to focus on something that you really can't be bothered to do.

As you let go, calm and relaxed. And even though we're focusing on your eyes, you may have noticed that your mind starting to drift. And this drifting not only moves you further away from those feelings, physical feelings, that you were experiencing.

Feelings of calmness spread over your body and your mind. And maybe you can open your eyes one last time. The left eye first, and then the right eye.

And when you open your eyes both at the same time, that feeling in the relaxed, deeply relaxed part of your body will move into the part connected to your left eye. Causing that part of your body to be instantly and completely deeply relaxed. So thoroughly ingrained within every particle of that part of your body.

Deeply, deeply relaxing. And when you open both your eyes, you'll notice that they feel so heavy. And you know that once you close them again, that will be it.

And you'll feel so much relief. So much relief. Now, open both your eyes.

Noticing that feeling of relaxation spread in from that part of your body instantly, instantly into the part that needs that healing, emotion, emotion, calmness, and love. And as your eyes get tired and more tired, they just close naturally. And so relaxed, relaxed, so deeply relaxed, so calm, relaxed, deeply relaxed.

It feels so right to be able to feel. And I'm now going to count from 20 down to one. And I'm going to say the word relax after each number I say.

You can feel twice as relaxed as you do now. Twice as relaxed, twice as calm, feeling twice as safe, feeling twice as peaceful as that peacefulness and tranquility spreads through your mind. Now, 20, relax, 19, relax, 27, 26, 25, 24, relax, 22, 21, 20, relax, 10, 7, 2, feeling, 1, all feelings, deep pleasure, and deep
