Welcome to Whisper Wednesday. Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Today is Wednesday the 2nd of September, 2026.

It is 3 minutes past 8am in my country. Because it's a whisper recording, the background sounds might sound a little bit louder. Things like the dog barking or cars going past.

Also, it's the first day of school for the new term. So you might hear a few cars and kids screaming and stuff. Screaming, no, no, I don't want to go in there, don't make me go in there.

Or is that just me? Do you know I was thinking about that last night or yesterday as I was in the park. And there was at least one September when I was in high school that I went to school. Really optimistic that I was going to be a good boy.

A good boy, I knew a good boy, that was my intention. I was going to keep quiet, I was going to study, I was going to write everything down. Which I think I did for the first 10 minutes.

I think I even bought a bunch of pens and all that stuff. But then, I'm not quite sure what happened. I think just being back there and I just got bored.

See, that was the thing. I found school really, really boring. Most of the time.

It's... I couldn't and I still can't become interested in something that I'm not interested in. Never been able to do that. If I'm naturally interested, then I give all my attention to that subject or to that conversation.

So when I'm talking to someone, just having a general conversation, normally, yeah, I can only really interact if it's interesting. If it's a real conversation. I can talk about the weather because I'm English and it's my heritage to be interested in the weather.

I've inherited it. I can't help it. It's in my bones.

Yeah, it's just an English thing. So, talking about the weather, although not necessarily super exciting, it's something that I'm always kind of interested in. On a very low level, I'm not going to say low-key because I'm not five, but it's on a low level, kind of, it's always there.

What do you mean five? Adults say it as well. I've heard people in this country copy Americanisms that were being used decades ago. Low-key is not a new term in America.

Real quick, let's do that real quick. That's not new in America. It's quite new in this country.

Or if you haven't seen someone for quite a while, you say, Oh, it's been a minute since we last saw each other. Again, for America, not English. And it's old in America.

It's not a new term. I suppose social media, TikTok and that stuff has probably kind of spread it. And, mate, I don't know, maybe I'd be doing exactly the same thing if I was like a teenager now.

I don't know. All I know is I didn't do that when I was a teenager. I think the only thing I said, really, I'd call people mate, but I grew up with that term.

And then, you know what I mean? I used to say that. I used to repeat that over and over again. But literally in a sentence, I just like, you know what I mean? You know what I mean? You know what I mean? You know what I mean? I remember having a conversation with my friend.

And he was up a ladder. I don't quite know why he was up a ladder. Maybe he was washing windows, cleaning windows.

But he was literally the only black man probably in my town. And I was friends with him. I don't know why.

I'm not sure how I knew him. It might just be someone who used to come into the chip shop. Because I used to get to know quite a few people.

Hundreds and hundreds of people that would be regulars. And I just recall saying to him, you know what I mean? Like every other word. I stopped doing it after a while.

Because it started to annoy me. But I just got that memory. I just overdid it.

I think I was showing off. Trying to be hip. Trying to be urban.

Maybe. Also, my hero was Frank Bruno. And he used to do that.

Like, you know what I mean, Harry? I was just pretending. Okay, I shouldn't say that. But yeah, I was... Anyway, he was my hero.

And, yeah. I always used to have friends that were a bit... Not weird, but very... I've never really been tribal. I've never really had a bubble.

You're like a friend group. I mean, there was once when I worked in this cold store in London. There was a few of us that used to go out.

And I did make friends with... Well, Andre. His sister was dating someone else that became a close friend. Who also worked in the cold store.

So there was like three of us. And then there was a couple of other people that kind of joined the group. And sometimes we'd go out.

And sometimes we'd go out in a group, like other people from work to nightclubs and stuff. Or to the pub. I suppose when I was working in my very first insurance job... I did used to go to the pub.

Where loads of people that worked in my place used to go. So, is that a bubble? I don't know. Used to be like, just generally a lot of talk about work.

I've always been more like one-on-one. I find that easier. Sitting in a room.

With three people. Oh man, it's hard. Hard work.

Especially when they're all talking over each other. And I'm talking over them. Which I do.

The difference is, I used to talk over people when I was younger. And I learned that I was doing it. I wasn't aware that I was doing it.

And then I learned that I was doing it. I became aware. And I kind of still did it anyway.

Or sometimes tried to stop. And then, when I got involved with the Buddhism... My Buddhist friends would tell me how it felt when I did that to them. Which was a little bit painful to be honest.

It wasn't an enjoyable conversation. And sometimes I'd just do it anyway. Especially to that person.

I guess that's the denial stage. Or the not caring stage. And then it got to the point in later life where I just... I still do it.

I still do it to this day. But I apologize. I still did it and I apologized but continued.

Now, I apologize and stop. Sometimes. If I catch myself.

Sometimes I do catch myself and I give myself permission to keep talking. I just figure out that what I've got to say is more interesting than what they're going to say. That's untrue.

I don't think that. It's just... It's hard to hold it back. When I've got something I want to say.

In a conversation that is. I just can't. It's very hard to listen to someone else talking.

When all I want to do is talk. However. When it's a serious situation.

So it's like when it's just a random conversation. I kind of just want to talk. If it's a serious conversation.

Like I mentioned the other day. The man in the park. I'm listening.

I'm watching, observing. Open, you know. I'm not saying that to kind of point anyone out.

How wonderful I am. Because let's face it. We all know already how wonderful I am.

You can mention the comments on this. He really thinks he's special, doesn't he? Well, actually, yes. I was told by every teacher that I was special.

So therefore. I must be special. Of course, the term special needs.

Did not. Actually. Exist when I was at school.

Otherwise, I probably would have been in that. I was in a special needs class. But they basically take took me and a lot of other kids.

Well, about 12 of us. Maybe less. But it's into a separate room.

And just left us there. To do whatever we wanted to do. So basically.

To those that were disrupting. The class. Or refusing to do any work.

I was kind of a mixture between the two, I guess. But I was bored. So bored.

It just. What's the longest river? What's the highest mountain? It's like, who cares? Why would I need to know that? I'm not interested in mountains or rivers. Don't genuinely.

Mathematics. Now, I know as an adult. That maths is.

Hugely important. To. Well, all the stuff I do online.

Maths is needed to create that stuff. To create the websites. To create the technology.

That allows me to do what I'm doing. But I don't need to know. I don't need to know how to build a microphone.

To talk absolute rubbish into it. You see what I mean? So. I'm more interested in what I can do with a pen.

Not how to build a pen. Or buy a pen. I don't mean like, where you would keep a donkey or a pig.

I mean to write. It's a tool. And I realised that.

You know, if there was this big catastrophe. And. Or a big major blip.

And everybody. That knows how to make pens. Disappears.

And all the written technology or whatever. Disappears. Then I'm not going to be writing with a pen again.

Once they run out. Oh well. Choose a computer.

No. Don't you understand? Computers probably won't exist either. Well no, you mentioned just pens.

Not computers. So I realised that mathematics is important. Like super important.

Apparently the basis of everything. But what I do. Just this.

I don't need maths. I do need English. And I learn English to a. An average degree.

Well not to a degree, but an average level. Although I still, this is one of my little. One of my little pigmies.

Is. Why do. I notice it more with the radio hosts on LBC.

Sometimes with. Maybe someone has been interviewed. A politician or someone.

They'll use a word. That. I should say this a bit quicker.

Of course they use words. They're broadcasters. No.

They'll use a word that isn't in. General use. And act as if they.

They hear it everywhere they go. And sometimes I know the word. Sometimes I don't know the word.

Even if I don't know the word. I can probably guess the word. Based on.

The rest of the sentence. Which in a sense I think is how. What's how I learned.

Words. The meaning of words. For example the sentence.

The plane. Rode off. The plane flew.

Up into the sky. What's the sky? I don't know what a sky is. I better look that up.

In my. And then I think. Wait a minute.

No. Let's just fill in the information. Let's look back.

So the plane. What does a plane do? It flies. Where does it fly? It flies high up.

Above the ground. So that must mean. That's where it's heading.

Up there. High up above ground. Therefore that must be.

What sky means. I thank you. I'm glad that you're able to be here.

For this part. Of the educational. Broadcast.

It's all about learning and. Teaching and. I feel quite good about it.

Vinnie's just turned up. I heard him flap his ears. And then just jump out of bed and come in.

He's just. Come and sat on my foot. I'll tell you what.

I. Had. One of the weirdest. Dreams.

Ever. Ever. One.

One part of the dream. I don't know where I was. But there was.

I was in a room. And there was about. I think four people.

And they were getting into arguments. And start pushing each other. And they were in a. So.

Like they were kind of. Looking to have a. Punch up. I walk over.

And they move away. And I'm in the middle. And I say to them.

Something like. Hey. Lads.

We're all. Who said you're all my friends. Please don't fight.

And. They all started dancing. It was very strange.

Now they didn't. But they did sort of decide. That I was a hero.

I think it's important. To be a hero. In your own dreams.

Egotistical. No way. The other dream.

I can't tell you. Because it was. X rated.

Not necessarily. In a good way. It was just like.

It's getting bad. Right. My love life.

Even in my dreams. I wake up. And think to myself.

Surely I could do better than that. The person in my dreams. Is probably thinking the same thing.

I'm getting rejected. In my own dreams. It's just.

Yeah. It's weird. Don't necessarily.

I don't. I said try and say that word again. I don't necessarily.

Want reality to stay with me. When I'm asleep. It's quite nice to have that.

Pretend. Stuff. But what did happen.

What I noticed is. Was in this dream. And.

I kept waking up. And then going back to the dream. And there was one point in the dream.

Going up some stairs. To where I lived. Got the school kids screaming.

No. We don't want to go back to school. After six weeks.

Of not having to get up. At a certain time probably. No.

Also it's the first day of term. So it's going to be a lot of new kids. That have never been to that school before.

This might be their very first day of school. Yeah. I've noticed on the estate.

Every September. New people seem to move in. Because there's a school here.

My voice went weird then didn't it? A school here. A school here. That sounds like me when I was.

Sixteen. Anyway I. Went to. The doctors yesterday.

Did I talk about this already? I did didn't I? I talked about it yesterday. So I won't go over it again. I took my very very first.

Diabetic tablet. With my breakfast. And.

I'm not sure. I just don't know. It's too early isn't it? To kind of.

Know how I'm going to feel. Hopefully it will. Improve how I feel.

And. I'll be a bit less tired and. All that stuff but.

It just felt a little bit moment. Momental. Momental.

To my. What's the word? I don't know like a landmark. Like a. An important.

Thing. Starting. Waking up.

Officially. A diabetic. Like yesterday.

I knew I had diabetes but. Until the nurse. Spoke to me.

And also. The nurse. Doesn't put it on my official file.

Until. She spoke to me. And.

Put me on the medication. Then I'm officially diabetic. I suppose I should get one of those.

Necklaces or something. Wow. Yeah.

I didn't think about that. Do people still wear those? I. I only just remembered. Because I had a friend.

Called. What was her name? In junior school. Junior school.

Or high school. Junior school I think. And she had diabetes.

I don't know. Her farts smelled of skittles. Sometimes M&M's depending what she'd been eating.

Sometimes just poo. But. I didn't spend a lot of time.

Smelling her farts. Felicia. Felicia.

Felicia. Felicia. I'm sure it sounded like Felicia.

I was friends with her. And. I think she.

I just. It's such a silly statement. Because I was like nine.

But I think she wanted me. She fancied me. When I was nine.

She was the same age. She might have been slightly older. Because I was the youngest kid in the year.

Pretty much. So she might have been. Like nearly ten.

I mean that's illegal isn't it? It's not allowed. You can't. If you're ten.

You can't date a nine year old. That's immoral. I tell you.

I go on to TikTok. There's a few debating channels on there. Where people get so.

Angry. About stuff that's so. Well to me.

Irrelevant and unimportant. Just. Because they want to rant.

And they have to be right. And some of the people will not back down. And they're so nasty as well.

And they've got a few. And these are the kind of people. That can only be around.

Other people with the same views. So if I did that in life. If I only spent time with people.

That had the same belief system. As I did. I'd have no friends.

I've got friends. Of all types. And I will have had over the years.

I haven't got a huge amount of friends now. But. My friend downstairs.

He was. Almost the opposite to me. In some ways.

I just got distracted. By Vinnie barking. So I'm not sure what I was talking about.

But. I got Vinnie this scratch thing. Like a board.

But inside you can put treats. And the idea is to the dog scratches. To get to the treats.

I did it and. He didn't care. So I'm not quite sure.

What I'm going to do. I think I might have to buy him some treats. The ones that he really loves.

The most. And try and put him in there. Maybe it will work then.

Because he's. Just. Yeah.

I'm trying to get to. Get his fingernails down. Oh yesterday.

I cut my own fingernails. And my toenails. I'm ever so proud of myself.

I think he's distracted. Because there's more. This is the first time in like six weeks.

That he's heard a lot of activity. So there's more dogs barking. There's more movement.

Cars. Kids screaming. And he's not heard any of that.

For quite a while. Normally it doesn't bother him. So he has to just get used to it.

Okay. Don't worry Vinnie. In 20 minutes.

We're going to go out. What I do is. I wait until the school.

Run is finished. And then I take him out for a walk. Because.

I'll be honest. I feel like I'm in the way. There's all these parents.

Rushing their kids to school. And they've probably got to go. To work.

And I just. Don't want to. Well first of all.

I don't like being in the way. But this time of year. I can walk onto the grass.

But in the winter. Before I walk on the grass. I'm getting wet.

And those parents. They don't get out of the way. They walk on the pavement.

They're determined to stay on the pavement. Some of them. Some of those elephants.

They're not elephants. They're elephants that come. I'm not being rude.

They literally are elephants. And. They take up a lot of room.

You see. There's only one kid. That goes to school.

One little baby elephant. So all the kids are playing hopscotch. And running around.

The elephants. Eating off the tree. Yeah.

I think they have a lot of fun. Well the elephant was the odd one out. To start with.

Also there's a dog parking. Which. Is.

Getting him going. It's. I don't think it's the normal dog.

Oh no. That's the normal dog. So let that in the garden now.

So that's two dogs I've heard so far. Or three if you include Vinnie. In fact I think that one's further away.

Which means there's a third one. About to appear in the garden. And for some reason he's.

He's normally in the garden. I don't know why he's not out there yet. It's hard to tell.

I'd say it's weird right. I had to leave Vinnie here yesterday morning. I left about.

20 to 10. And I came back. And when I got back.

The dog over the fence wasn't there. The door was closed. I can't believe it the one time.

I could have had some peace. I wasn't even here. Oh come on.

Then about half an hour later. He was back barking. Although I did record Vinnie.

And for the first 10 minutes. He was howling. Not barking.

Howling. And then nothing for about 40 minutes. Then he did two minutes of howling.

It's more crying than howling. You know like. It's not particularly loud.

But I guess quite high pitched. And then nothing. So he was for two and a half hours.

He was on his own. So 12 minutes of that. He was.

He was howling. So I guess it's not too bad. Although that 10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure. If my neighbor heard it. It probably sounded like a lot more.

Than just 10 minutes. Can you imagine that would have been. But it sounded like days and days.

Days and years of howling. So today. Bearing in mind.

I've got the kitchen people coming. On Friday. And I was out yesterday.

Today's Wednesday. I'm going to relax. I'm going to watch TV.

Maybe a movie. Still do some website stuff. Which I do every day.

And then tomorrow. I'm going to. Work on emptying the kitchen.

Of all the stuff. There's not a lot in there really. I've got a friend coming over.

A neighbor. Who's going to help me to move. The two freezers and the fridge.

Into the living room. Really there's not. Yeah I just need to clear the table here.

Not this one I'm using. But the next desk. I need to clear that.

So that I've got somewhere to put. My food. Just like I mean like breakfast cereal.

And stuff like that. Finnish food. Yeah.

There is a few bits and bobs. A couple of cupboards full of stuff. I've got one drawer full of paperwork.

And bits and bobs. I've got another. Drawer.

Full of medication. Also got a bunch of medication. In the.

The cupboard. Just some that I've not taken. Mainly pain relief ones.

So I cut down my pain relief. And then I upped it again. So I've got.

A bit more than I need. I mean it's been periods in the past. When I didn't take my meds every day.

Sometimes. I mean I went when I went to Thailand. The first time.

I didn't because I was concerned. That I'd get arrested. Because they're very fussy.

About medication and stuff. The second time. I just.

Okay. You're not allowed to take Cocodomol. Into Thailand.

It's illegal. So I would have got arrested probably. Which well.

I'm not sure how illegal it is. It's illegal. But I think.

If you're a tourist. They might make exceptions. Maybe.

There's nothing. You know you didn't realise. Which meant.

Confiscated. Or confiscated and fined. As opposed to getting arrested.

But I don't know. All I know is. You can't take them in there.

So I didn't take them. Either time. But I did take.

My medication. My bipolar medication. The second time.

Which was good. Because the first time. I was.

I was. Yeah. I was feeling the effects of not.

Not having it. Yeah. So yeah.

I'm going to have to empty that stuff. And put it in here somewhere. I mean some of the stuff can go in the bedroom.

But. It'll be a case of putting them. On the floor.

I'll figure it out. It's only for a little while. I have the microwave.

On the table here. And what I might try and do. Here I'll put the fridge and the freezer.

On the floor. Hopefully it won't get cold. Because I can't have the heating on really.

Gotta keep the room fairly cold. Or a fridge and a freezer. Apparently.

I don't know if that's true. Although really. One of the freezers.

I don't want anymore. I had it 11 years. It was already retired.

When I got it. I think my grandmother got it. As a wedding present.

In 1939. 1939. But 1939.

So it was. I guess it was in there. I inherited it.

Which is annoying. Because I asked for money. Specifically.

Money. Not an old freezer. It's done okay.

But it does. I mean it works. But it's low down.

And I can't bend. I can't be bent. So what I'm going to do.

Fridge and freezer. But what I want is. Mainly to be fridge.

I'm not really bothered about it. Having a freezer compartment. Because I've got a separate freezer.

Which is going to be in the storage room. So a big fridge. Tall fridge.

But with a freezer compartment. So I can put things like. Healthy diabetic ice lollies.

In there. If there is such a thing. I need to do.

Some research. I really do. I mean to start with.

I'm going to have to. Make do with. The small fridge.

So I can save up. For the big one. The big fridge freezer thing.

Because I can't. I can't get one yet. So I have to wait and save.

But it will be nice. When the kitchen is finished. It will be nice.

It's just. You know. The first day is going to be the hardest.

Because they rip it all out. On a Friday. That's a lot of noise.

I've got a neighbour. That said that they're. Willing to look after Vinnie.

For the day. Because otherwise it will just be. Just barking so much.

And I just worry. Just. If he's here.

I'm going to have to keep him in the living room. With the door closed. And the front door will be open.

So the downside of that is. If I need to open the door. Which I will do.

I need to go to the toilet and stuff. Vinnie will do his best. Just to run straight out the front door.

And out. Wherever he wants to go. And secondly.

If I've got. The door closed. I can't see who's coming in and out of the flat.

At least. I'll have it like pushed up. I'll be able to see the front door.

Be able to see you know. If some random just walks in. Which hopefully won't happen.

Well there's going to be randoms. Because I don't know. There's so many different people.

Come and go. During this period. Wow that was loud.

The dogs are getting louder. So I'm going to go. So thank you for listening.

Remember to be kind to yourself. Because you deserve to be happy. And be gentle with yourself.

You deserve to feel safe. Lots of love. Wow.

Bye. Bye.
