cross buns I like to have hot cross buns at this time of year I couldn't get any and I actually went I used two different shops yesterday on uber to get deliveries and not one of them had hot cross buns oh they had them to choose they were there but nope didn't actually have any on shelves they were just teasing me with pictures so yeah this is a bank holiday weekend not the Monday but the Friday Saturday well Friday and the Sunday is a bank holidays well Friday's a bank holiday

Sunday's Easter Day tomorrow's Saturday it's just a normal day and I do believe I might be wrong though Monday is it a bank holiday bank holidays UK bank holidays it might be a bank holiday Monday bank holidays UK bank holidays Friday and the 6th as well the 6th Easter Monday so that's also a bank holiday oh okay oh so UK bank holidays gov let's have a look right okay is it's like an official bank holiday so it's Good Friday today and then it's on Monday the 6th of April it's Easter

Monday so it's a four-day weekend for those you know that were able to get the Saturday off and that's assuming that you have Sunday off anyway but not everyone does today and I've worked over Easter before when I did security yeah I'm not sure I'm just trying to know when my voice went so high pitch then if I remember rightly when I worked in a chip shop I think the chip shop was open on a Friday and on the Monday but it wasn't open on a Sunday but I might be

wrong maybe it closed Friday and a closed Friday Sunday Monday open on a Saturday I got a theory that quite a good time for a chip shop or any kind of fast-food place to open would be over Easter when the shops are closed although I don't know if the shops are closed back then they would be closed in the 80s supermarkets closed at Sunday on a Sunday most shops closed on a Sunday the I think it was like the law because this used to be a Christian country and Sunday was

like a day of rest like going to church or whatever so generally in where I lived anyway it did I mean it did change in London and some cities where there was people that had a different religion and they just opened anyway because it didn't affect them which was quite handy actually but I noticed that I really I moved from a little town where everything closed on a Sunday to London where okay the main supermarkets were closed but there were shops everywhere there is almost like there was no closing time

with some of them so you could always go get some milk at nine o'clock at night and the shops would be open every day of the week and the newsagents see where I lived I lived in a little town between the ages of 7 and 19 and the newsagents could open on a Sunday morning up to like I think one o'clock in the afternoon something like that to sell the newspapers and I think the off licenses could open between 11 and 2 and then again between 7 and 8 or 7

and 9 or 10 something like that so just the regular like pub hours that there were at the time because even going to the pub you couldn't you could only go between certain hours now it's 24 well I don't know how 24 hours a day but it's pretty much all day long if they want to it's between I don't know I think two o'clock is to cut off I think but you can get extensions but I'm not an expert I mean as you know I'm an expert on most things so

that might surprise you that I don't know everything about the the the trade of serving alcohol but I don't I couldn't do that job I did it three times I had three different bar jobs and I was ridiculously bad at all of them admittedly the last one it wasn't really a bar job I just helped out when they were busy and I didn't take big orders I just say anyone need lager so if there was like a big queue of people I say who needs lager and I just pour lager

because that was easy I could you know the till was easy to use and I could just pour the lager and then they'd go away when people came up to me said yeah lager then I said and a double scotch and a glass of wine and no no no no no no you just pay for lager you're gonna have to wait to get served to the other stuff I don't do other stuff but why not because I'm too incompetent I couldn't say that to them could I could say because I'm

I'm literally too incompetent or I could get my little form out from the council and say because I'm severely mentally impaired therefore that's why I can't do it it might seem weird I've always had a major block with numbers like adding things up not even a large numbers not like okay 7,000 plus 9 plus 6,432 divided by 5,000 take away 6% and divide that by a quarter of a fraction of never whatever you know like no I don't mean it's something complicated like that just general adding up drinks for example

which is something I just really really struggled with now butlings wasn't too bad because they gave you a key so when I worked at butlings because I've had to add up stuff in various different jobs I had to do it with the chip shop now admittedly the menu wasn't large not when you're doing the job all the time so the fish nearly all the same price the chips was the same price every time and it was you know it's only a few bits and also I wasn't dealing with drunk people

that was slurring and being confusing and there wasn't lots of loud music you know it's a very much easier thing to do and yeah I found like no plus I did it for two years so the chip shop charging was easy after a while until they put prices where change the prices then it got hard but ultimately you still had a keyboard you type in the prices plus price plus plus plus whatever then I worked at the I worked at a co-op supermarket in at this time 1988 I think I

started in April and probably just after or just after this kind of period yeah just after Easter probably and I think it didn't have a barcode system but you have to type in the price so you look at it and get the price and then do that so this before they could beep beep you know when they could just like have that handheld thing I'm pretty sure it's before that and I was making mistakes as well like pressing the wrong buttons and yeah I wasn't very good at that they had

me on the till when they were desperate yeah they didn't you know I think they preferred me just to stack the shelves or just to stand around looking pretty and I was too young to serve alcohol or tobacco without getting permission so every time someone came and they saw me behind a counter oh no here we go again what 20 minutes of him trying to get hold of someone to say it's okay Audrey it's Jason again I've got a customer wants to buy some alcohol and I'm only 17 I can't

serve it and like they'd have to come to the counter said yeah okay because they'd have to check it's ironic because I had to check the ID of the person buying it yeah I wasn't old enough to buy it I wasn't old enough to sell it either weird one really and yeah I got in trouble a few times just because I wasn't adding stuff up properly even it's basically the tills were just calculators that's all it was calculators with some roll till roll in them just a basic big calculator and

it didn't tell you what you were buying didn't keep a track of what was being bought none of another like that not like now but barcodes and stuff so it was that's my memory of it because if they did have barcodes then I've got no excuse for making so many mistakes and we had this little like moving table thing you know you know the things that they're like little escalators and it moves the product along I can't remember what they call it but had one of them you know this you

know your customers been really awkward then you just wait and you keep the thing going so all the stuff falls on the floor which wasn't really that good because I'd always be the one that had to you know clear it up so I wasn't very good at that where else did I work where was adding stuff up I worked in two shops but by this time I was a fair bit older so I was in my 30s and it was two gift shops the same type but in different towns one

in the early one was in about 2000 end of 2003 during 2004 and the next one was in about 2008 while I was at university now the problem with some of that stuff is they didn't have everything with a barcode or stuff that had barcodes so sometimes the barcodes were just scratched or very hard to see and the system it didn't work for me it didn't it was a bit frustrating but you know I did my best and I suppose with the bar work I did when I worked at Butlin's

now that that was in 1995 that was proper sophisticated it was like as up-to-date as could be all the bar stuff and there's a lot of us because there was thousands of people in one big massive hall all waiting to eat or drink rather sorry and there's like two bars no three bars one big bar my side there was another bar probably half the size the other side of the room and there was a smaller bar I think they just opened up when it was really busy unless it did it

sell wine it might have sold wine and poppers I don't know Kit Kats so that was on the left and then there was a stage on the right and honestly it was huge huge space and I say thousands it might not been thousands I might have been exaggerating but there's a lot of people I would say at least a thousand people but it might have been 500 people but that's still a lot of people all wanting to have a drink at the same time definitely I mean comparing it to the

comedy club there was 200 and I think 250 could be fitted there just over 200 there was at least three three times that I would say if not more because it was just literally the the queues were huge and and it's one of those situations where the bar was never quiet the shift which probably started about 7 or the bar would probably open about 7 back then 7 till probably 11 solid there was no break there was you know we had breaks ourselves staff but there was no break in work

it was constant the whole time no lull and I'd never worked anywhere that was that busy before and I still haven't it was non-stop they were making a lot of money but the system they had was they had a card system or like a key system you know so every member of staff had a key and it'd be attached to like your trousers or your top or whatever so you didn't lose it you plug it in if you know there's about three or four different tills maybe more and you plug

it into the till you make sure everyone's assigned to a specific till so they're not moving around tills but which means generally just stay on one side of the bar really not the side where you serve but you know one part of the bar and you put your key in and whatever you did last comes up on the screen so if you was to sort of do like five lagers and you put it into the system and then they said oh and can I get a becket of crisps please you

can then take the key out or you know you can get the crisps see what's available give it to them and then you can put the key back in and get your stuff back even if someone else can use it because you know because you couldn't leave your key in you have to take your key out every time you left the till because it would be in use the whole time so you take the key out it go blank and someone put their key in and it just just also signs

the money coming in to a particular person so they could keep track of everyone and yeah I messed up with that one as well but it wasn't too bad I found the system a lot easier a lot easier and also being that busy it I found it easier to work like that and just be standing there dreading the next customer to come up with what they can order now and it got to the point where it didn't matter because I hated having to do certain things because I didn't know how

to do them certain drinks mixes and stuff like that but yeah it ended up it was it was it was okay actually it was fairly easy it was hard really hard work but it was easier with the key so much easier and I didn't ever so I only worked there for the season for the holiday season and then it's actually part of a government thing because I went to the job center and in the job center they said they were looking so I was being made homeless so I was being

evicted I think I had a week to find somewhere so I went to the I went to sort of thing where I can get some help here I need to need to do something so I went to the job center and there was a big sign would you like to work for Butlins and I thought not really and then I saw underneath said government scheme because at the time I was I was on benefits temporarily and I said do you still do this on benefits and you get extra money and

you have somewhere to live and I thought the somewhere to live sounds good that's the main thing that's what I need right now so I went over there and they said they're basically really really trying to get people this was I think this was a nationwide thing getting people for Butlins all over the country and London is probably one of the good places like you go to a city you're more likely to get people I guess I suppose they probably went to Leeds Manchester Liverpool and other Birmingham you know other

places Birmingham so I signed up they I had the interview they said what can you do I said not much really they said are you any good with numbers no he said why were you why did you leave your last job I said because I got caught stealing and I didn't that is one way to avoid getting work I didn't say that I I've never been caught I don't know why because I've had a lot of experience of different jobs over the years and don't worry I'm gonna get to the

Q&A Friday don't fuss I'll get in there you know I always get there in the end the only problem is people that have asked a question are waiting for their answers and they never get to hear the answers because you might be have fallen asleep by now apologies but I will answer the questions I promise it might not be for a few hours but I will honestly I will answer the questions I promise you I wouldn't lie to you so this this bloke was asking me he was sitting the other

side of the table and I was sitting the other side but not his side my side and he like listed he said what can you do what can you do I said well I've had lots of different jobs I've been at that time let's say 95 I'd worked in a chip shop worked in the co-op I'd worked in an old people's home I'd worked in I'd done blimey yeah I've worked cleaning jobs caravans supermarkets offices I did canvassing I worked in an office I worked in a factory had three factory

jobs in fact I worked in a two different bakeries I had I hadn't been a security guard at this point that was 96 yes I had quite a lot of experience cleaning and I didn't really fancy being a cleaner although it's just it's a very hard job they're cleaning chalets and stuff it's not an easy job to do none of the jobs there were easy it was you know it was pretty full-on and I was so desperate just to get something I when I said I worked in a bar oh

they jumped on that yeah we need bar staff I said okay he said did you like I said yeah you're any good at it pretty pretty oh look it's a rabbit you know and he said what do you mean is a rabbit I said there's a rabbit it's a heater this is I said oh I always get muddled up between heaters and rabbits how can you get muddled up between a heater and a rabbit a wall heater which heats up the office and a rabbit the three thinking running around hop

hop hop hop hop rabbit I said look I'm on medication he said oh yeah so he I don't know why I went for it why I accepted the that job because I could have I've got catering experience I could have worked in the in the I mean probably the best job I could have had was to work as a kitchen porter that probably would have been the best one it would have been hard all the jobs would have been hard there was no easy jobs but if I could have had

a job just washing dishes is a lot you know it takes a lot of you need to move fairly fast but I've done it many times so I could do that fairly easily so that probably would have been good but I don't know if I'd had that I don't think I'd have had much in the way of a social life when I was at Butlins because working behind the bar it I don't know why they just opened up the local for some reason I don't know why but the bar that

was for the staff seemed to be very much it was run by the bar staff or the managers who were there all the time not just seasonal and so I had my little gang but there's a few of us that I worked with that I kind of used to hang out with and then I think when I was at Butlins there was two groups of people that I kind of get to know there was the ones I worked with three groups there was the ones I worked with there was the

ones I started with because there was the induction you kind of get to know the new people because we were all stuck together for like a couple of days and and then there was the what's the third ones the third ones would be people that I lived with so we used to share share rooms but it was quite you get to know the people in your little area so I got to know the neighbors like one two three four maybe four well basically on my floor I got to know about

ten different people that lived on my in my little area and that was like two to a room so that was quite good to be a group of people who get to know people quite quickly because you're living with them you're working with them you're socializing with them you're showering with them if they let you and it got yeah I did quite like it but I didn't like it as well it was a mixture there was that uncertainty of like well first of all I don't like working behind the bar

so this is not a long-term result really it's not a long-term solution I needed to I think I'd probably been better if I'd have been on the front office or the reception like greeting people you know just being friendly to people and stuff like that I don't know if I was really suited for bars but I wasn't suited for bar staff because I wasn't very good at it and I didn't like it so I wasn't very friendly to people as I should have been and it was so busy really ridiculously

busy often it's the busiest job I've ever had in my life as far as like non-stop from start to finish apart from maybe the main the big yeah the really big bakery I worked at because that was full-on military the conveyor system the conveyor belt didn't stop I think like 24 hours didn't stop unless there was a an issue like a mechanical stoppage or whatever which meant the bread people putting the bread in had to be there putting the bread in the whole time and the people taking the bread out

which was me that was my job when I was there had to be there and if you weren't there the bread was gonna fall onto the floor and it did and quite often there was no one to help so my job was to take the the basically to take the the bread I had different jobs but one of the ones that I had and when I first got there when I first started working inside the bakery itself was to take the trays off the end of the of the line the

moving escalator thing or outlets come out of the oven throw them into a basket I had to be like sometimes the baskets would just run out I had people bring me the baskets and there wouldn't be any and I'll be shouting I need baskets I need baskets and there'd be stuff just falling on the floor and some people found it funny not the supervisors funny enough but there was nowhere to put the stuff you literally it's like you take the the tray the metal tray off of the the line you

shove the the bread rolls or whatever into the basket and then you put another basket on top and yeah and then you do that one and you just keep doing that and then you chuck the tray on a pile and like there'd be a big a thing where you put the trays in you know big metal rack everything is fine when everything's going smoothly but you you lose a couple of seconds or five seconds or even just a minute and everything goes haywire because you might catch the last one just

but then the next one is going to come out as you're getting rid of the last one and then the next one then it and this is just it's really weird the way it works really is and that's how but as back then I don't know what it's like now it's probably all done automatically I guess they probably don't have people in there what was dangerous is the lack of communication in the building so it's really as you imagine it's very noisy that mixes mixing machines go in as well as

the ovens really hot it's very very it's a dangerous environment it's very loud and they had people that spoke different languages working together so the communication was very very limited which you know I remember once I was shouting help help because my stuff was falling on the floor and now and his people were just not just ignoring me but they couldn't they couldn't understand what I was saying what help meant well that's what I thought until I spoke to them and said no we just didn't want to help you okay

it's a bit rude and he said well it's rude that you just assume that I can't speak English I didn't assume you can't speak English is just a fact that you know you never do when you're here that's why I assumed you didn't because you never do when you're here said well perhaps if you spoke to me like and treated me like a human I said no no don't go down that road I don't treat anyone like a human ask anyone though this honestly it was the communication was it was

definitely an issue but luckily other than my stuff falling on the floor I didn't have to worry too much but it was hot hot hot hot hot I tell you what there is a respect between the people even though there's lots of different cultures some that would be in conflict like in a normal situation perhaps you know outside of work everybody kind of shared the same experience and there was that respect that was there because it was a hard slog it weren't easy work it's I'm not saying it's like going

down a mine but it's you know there's certain jobs that are just physically physically demanding really physically demanding and working that made up huge bakery was physically demanding something that I couldn't do today and I struggled to do when I was in my peak you know when I was 20 years old I was struggling to do it and I was doing what was I doing yeah I was doing 16-hour days sometimes I mean one week I did a hundred hours and it was literally getting up going to work for six

or something I don't know whatever time so I was yeah I was I was getting home going straight to sleep getting up going to work coming home going straight to sleep and I think if I'd have known what I know now well maybe I probably wouldn't have done the job if I know what I know now but if it would have been an ideal opportunity to save some money it wasn't like great money but it was still more than I'd ever really earned before for a short time and I think

I earned I took home 250 pound after-tax here's a question for you anyone in America and I saw this on a YouTube video and I don't know how true it is somebody went into a fast-food establishment and asked how much a burger was you know the cheapest burger and they got answered oh it's for example three three dollars twenty plus tax well that isn't telling someone how much it is is it and I'm wondering is that a thing in America that you tell you the price before tax which seems really

ridiculous what do you mean that's what it is no no I mean I want to know how much money I have to give you not how you know I mean it's like plus it is how much it would be if you didn't have to pay tax on top of it I mean why don't they just say well this is how much it would be if we didn't have so many staff to pay this is how much it would be if the product didn't cost us so much to buy you know

what does it end this is how much it would be if you grew it yourself in your garden it's very very weird system before tax see we do not do that here the price is the price and it gives the illusion although I think most adults were aware that we're paying tax on pretty much everything we buy but it gives the illusion that it's that's just the price we're not thinking about what we're being taxed it's I think it probably takes away the little bit of sting from it I don't

think I'd want to be reminded every time I purchase something that this is how much tax I'm paying I get that on receipts for stuff that I buy that I pay for online you know for this free service to to cover cost and you know for podcast hosting and and quite a few of those say how much it is plus tax and the end result it's like I want to see that what are you telling me that for and I'm not sure whether or not it shows on tool receipts because

I haven't looked at a tool receipt since probably about 1998 yeah not not really I've not used cash I used cash last week for the first time in years because my friend's neighbor came my friend's son came around asking me if I'd go and yeah he wanted my help so I went round the petrol station and I bought something in there they gave me cash I paid it on like some notes because normally I just use my card I never draw money out of the bank or out of the cash

point I don't use cash I just use the card and most of my payments I have to pay a debits direct debits or trans standing order I guess so you know rent bills all the things I pay out for are paid out and that you know automatically out my bank and so I've got a friend who's got so you're looking at I'm laughing I'm not laughing at her just laughing at the idea of it because I talked to her about it the other day and she said oh I've got six

pound left on my electric meter I said how can you live like that how and she laughs she said what you mean I don't know how you can do that I can't I can't do that I've done that I've lived like that for years multiple years and just you know the amount of times that the electric meter ran out in the middle of something I mean guaranteed it run out while I'm watching boxing or when it's too late to actually get another you know any credit but apparently it's a bit

different nowadays because you can just get credit online just transfer money from your bank or whatever but back in the old other days you know when I even when I first moved in here you had to go and get yet to go and fill the card up at in fact even the local shops didn't do I had to go into town to fill the card up with electricity and gas that's why when I very first moved in I had to put up with that for a while and then I got

them to change the electric and gas over to bills rather than pay-as-you-go not doing pay-as-you-go now I know it plus here's something you might not know this is a maybe it's a UK thing I discovered this is a long time ago but I discovered because I've you know moved around a lot of times I've lived I've moved over 50 times since I left school and some places you move in and it's a pay-as-you-go on the credit but on the electric it might just be a room I've had rooms I've had

just one room you know on its own which has had its own electric meter and so if somebody hasn't paid it for example it was in the past it was a bill and the person didn't pay so the electric company comes over or the gas company and they change it to a pay-as-you-go meter and then someone new moves in there not knowing anything about the previous bill and in the past sometimes the the company would add that bill that remainder amount that's not been paid on to basically take that off

with the new person as that so they charge more for the electricity or the gas and they would normally I mean that's ridiculous isn't it absolutely ridiculous and I live somewhere where I was we were subletting wasn't me subletting but my friend he loved a nice sublet and he yeah he sublet from someone and we had the electric and the gas I think the gas was all fine was the electric meter there might have been both and it kept running out kept running out at the worst times as well and

I couldn't figure out why because we were putting like 10 20 quid on and it just why is it going so quick and it turned out that the actual council tenant because it was a council tenant that had that was subletting to my friend I didn't realize this at the time I probably did but I'm didn't and he owed the money which is why they change it to a pay as you go so we were paying off his debts so probably paying another 50% on top of what we needed to

pay so you know we pay 20 pound on electric and only get 10 pounds worth of electric and sometimes Vinnie's begging for some reason your dinner's over there go and eat that yeah thank you very much I remember once it went off in the evening and again this is a 90s nothing was open like when it comes to shops like that and so you have to wait till 6 o'clock the next morning and walk up to this place which sold you know which we could fill it up the meter or

buy a card or whatever we had to do I think it might have even been a scratch card you go in there scratch it off and do it like that and I thought nah no no no no not doing that again so when I moved to a different town to be closer to my Nan I did move into a studio apartment that had an electric meter the gas was included in the rent and the rent was like 65 pound a week it really is a really good deal I was 25

years ago but even 65 pound a week for a studio apartment was very good very very good and so the electric meter I was working and it was a pay-as-you-go electric meter now I don't even know if I was available if I was able to change it to a bill meter I just assumed that was the rules I didn't question it so what I did and I was determined never ever to go back to running out of electricity and sitting there in the cold or not being able to do anything

all night long and because I was working what I did is I put about a hundred quid onto the electric meter which lasted for ages because I wasn't using a lot of electricity me firstly I wasn't there all day because working I was only there in the evening watched a bit of TV and then go to bed you know it was maybe using a cooker so I wasn't using probably a lot of electricity back in that that period I mean I didn't even have a computer or the internet or anything

can't believe can you imagine I went from being absolutely obsessed with building websites in 2000 moving into 2001 and then from the summer of 2001 all the way through to probably 2003 I didn't go near a computer didn't use the internet I wasn't able to get internet where I was living I think that was more to do with my lack of credit rating you know so I couldn't get internet and I think that was my that was my that's something that probably messed things up for me because if I'd have

had the internet and if I could have continued building websites which is what I enjoyed doing the job would have been easier because I had something to look forward to to come home to do but I didn't back then I was just working and just came home and I did have a little bit of a social life but ultimately I didn't have for the first time a long time I didn't have an interest like a proper you know something to get up for in the morning like to go to work

like I can't go to work now but can't wait to get home again because I can start you know working on the this section the website I can make another podcast you know things like that just is it's what stirs me on I guess I may have put me back a couple of years but I think I would have been a lot more relaxed and content if I'd have had access to maybe not even access well yeah just I don't know I started I'm talking to you right and I got

my eyes closed and I started thinking about Star Trek nothing to do what I'm talking about at all I don't know why maybe it was a distraction just to stop me talking it could be I don't know I do knew so I in that place I put in about a hundred pound or whatever when I moved out there was at least about least 80 90 pound so I put loads of I kept putting electricity on just to make sure that you know and I was earning okay money at the time

and when I moved out it was because the neighbors downstairs were just they were just too noisy in the end I just had enough and I just left walked out and yeah I walked out I was a dog in the garden Vinnie earlier on he started howling and all it was was a dog in the garden over the fence just like normal it's there does its thing but he was howling and I couldn't figure out how I really couldn't what other bank holidays are there so today and in the six

weekend so it's on a Monday it's always on Monday and it's a 20 to 31st so sometimes it's it's actually landed on my birthday sometimes so my birthday is the 26th of August so 31st of August 31st yes so my birthday is quite a long time before bank holiday weekend it's the Wednesday and then bank holiday weekend starts I mean technically it's a bank holiday weekend but it's the Saturday Sunday Monday but Saturday's just an ordinary day and Sunday's just an ordinary day yeah and then after that the only two

is Friday Christmas Day 25th of December and then the 28th of December which is Boxing Day and it says in brackets here substitute day some people substitute it for a different day yeah Boxing Day I remember I asked my granddad once I said granddad I knocked on the door he said come in okay hi granddad can I ask you a question so what is it and he said why you know Boxing Day at Christmas you know Christmas yeah and you know there's Christmas Eve he said yeah and then the next

one yesterday so yesterday's recording with music the short with music should be louder with the music hopefully maybe you let me know how you how you got on with that and I do find it a little bit difficult to judge the level of music or the level of anything you know when it's to this you got the you got the me talking then you got the sound of music which is added to it and I want to make sure that even the quietest parts of the grass the grass I start

thinking about dogs walking in blimey I keep falling asleep when I'm talking and I'm daydreaming so I'm talking about music being mixed and I started thinking about taking Vinnie out and it's ridiculous so I start I drifted and because I can still talk even when I'm asleep I can still waffle on I don't have to be because I'm not controlling what I say I'm just it's just freeform chatting you know I'm not reading off a script I don't know what I'm gonna say next and I never do which is part

of the charm I think maybe perhaps it might be annoying I don't know the thing is I started thinking of a dog on the sand and I started mentioning the dog anyway back to what I was saying I may have to try and keep my eyes open sorry about the dog in the background if you can hear it hopefully all I might have to go and close the windows look at the window is closed it's on the latch to let some air in I might have to pull the curtain over

just to shut it up or shut it out rather bless and although someone did make a very good comment the other day this I was walking and the lady with the dog over the fence she was walking her dog and she'd had an interaction with another dog walker who's shouting at her don't let your dog near my dog and but she did it to another lady is about the same kind of age so they would she's that one's just as Larry herself and she said she said to me what the

conversation happened and basically you got your dog from Romania so your dog verbally is not going to understand what you're saying to him I mean dogs can retain they understand a certain amount of words don't they I don't know what the different dogs ratio is because some dogs can understand a lot more words than other dogs but that dog having been raised in Romania it's not going to really understand any English so it's going to be going by tone of voice it's going to be going by hand gestures by facial

expressions maybe because it's you know it's and I thought yeah I never thought of it like that because even though we don't we can't communicate with dog the way we can with a human there are you know there's words on there that dogs understand there's words that Finny understands and there's a tone of voice that he understands and yeah I felt like oh that's that's an interesting concept so she was saying well you need to use hand gestures and there's like a universal hand gesture with a dog and and she

did it and the person's dog sat down just calmed down and I was like wow also she was very brave because she kind of she spoke to the one over the fence on a like a level of equalness because I think most people are just scared of her to be honest I am I hide if I see her I hide sometimes in the bin I don't know how loud that dog is though to be honest like on the microphone so the difference is when Vinnie starts barking and he is he's

louder than that dog when he goes Finny screams but I calm him down within seconds within seconds what you know I don't stand there just let him bark like maybe some people would I take him around a friend's house and he barks in the garden and I say come on Vinnie and she says oh let him bark I said no don't get it I don't want him to be disturbing the neighbors because they hear him barking then they feel well it's okay for my dog to be in the garden barking

and I don't want to disturb people I mean I'd love to let him if I had a garden I'd let him in the garden but he wouldn't be allowed to just sit stand there barking all the time no way that's not fair that's like Easter morning me starting up a load of power tools or Christmas morning me you know starting up power tools and disturbing the whole building as they're trying to celebrate Christmas it's not exactly the same thing but it's it's inconsiderate isn't it that's what I'm saying this yeah

I think what am I talking about so I just remembered something that wasn't relevant then now it's gone oh well if you could instantly get read alright okay so I've answered the question for Jackie I've tried to sort the music out it's just it's a little bit difficult to so I've got a cover the music so that it doesn't drown out any of the audio so we're trying to get it in the middle of like the lowest vocal and the highest level of vocal and I'm gonna try and keep the

vocal the same kind of level but it's not always easy because you know just human although there's more than likely technology that could do that but then it might not sound real that's one of those problems if you there's a cleaning audio cleaner that you can use online for free I think and it sounds it doesn't sound good is it kind of almost like a tinniness like a robotic fakeness of it yeah now starting to think of the tin man from the Wizard of Oz considering I've only got like a

crack in the window like the window open just a little bit getting quite a bit of sound from outside but it's the wind and I've got my curtains drawn open so that's probably you know a lot of the sound I want new needs to get a butt plug I mean a window plug you can buy them but it's getting the right size and they fit into the window frame between the basically just plugs to sound and I kind of like to get one of them or a few of them just

to just to get it so there's no sound from outside while I make a recording you know just that's it not nothing big just for it to be relatively quiet so Jove asks me if you could instantly get really good at something what would it be Wow Wow Wow that's an impossible that's really hard to answer would I want to be really do I want to be is there anything that I want to be good at I'm not this probably if I could be good at this I don't know instantly

get good at something what would I like to be good at I mean I I'm not sure hmm you stumped me I don't keep your eyes open JJ otherwise you start daydreaming but the horse said no I'm not sure what would I like to be good at instantly if you'd have asked me this question decades ago I'd have had so many different answers I would have said hypnosis or I would have said stand-up comedy or I would have said I'm trying to figure anything else I was interested in building websites

or I would have said I guess earlier any early days making videos or making podcasts hmm I don't know I'm just what I'd like to be good at I'd like to be good at everything I do I've never really been good at anything not really I'd say I've been adequate at best hmm I suppose I'd like to be better at being human yeah a better person really good at instantly it'd be nice to have that skill in your back pocket wouldn't it for any situation arises especially for example I mean

an example of this would be when I went to play bowls or bowling at the bowling club with a couple of friends and yeah I didn't I don't think I even the first ball didn't even hit the skittles or what do you call them it just went to the side and the second one bounced and I think it went to someone else's alley so yeah wasn't wasn't particularly good yeah hmm yeah I'd like to I'd like to have been good at everything that I've done whether it's taking driving lessons whether

it's singing whether it's a comedy whether it's playing the guitar you know whatever always kind of yeah hmm just thinking about someone I knew years ago has come into my thoughts no I can't think of anything offhand I mean everything but not anything specific I'm always like to be better I'd like to be instantly good at everything included everything that I do with these recordings so maybe a better speaker a better editor yeah I don't know how much is put into it I started daydreaming again there so I had no

idea what I was talking about I started thinking I started dreaming about something else and this is weird I think the reason I'm pretty sure the reasons it didn't used to happen before it's because I listen to the recordings and talking now sends me to sleep while I'm talking hmm what would I be really good at straight away hmm here's weird I just had a little memory of watercress inside tinfoil that little smell it's very unique to watercress I might try and have some in a salad yeah if I had

tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce to share but I don't don't have any lettuce lettuce out let us be let us love each other one and all I have to come back to that one I think Michelle asks is the stepmom you grew up with still around still about still on the planet as far as yeah she is I was gonna say I'm thinking back to my birth mother but yeah she's definitely still around she lives with my brother as far as I'm aware my little brother so yeah she's definitely still

around when I haven't the only information I have about is what my little brother gives and he doesn't you know it's personal to him isn't it I suppose well like it says his life so he keeps that all separate for when he comes and visits my dad so yeah she's still she's still around but I haven't you know I haven't had contact with her since really I was 16 reveal asks thoughts on daylight savings time I'm in one of the few states it doesn't play along so I find the whole

thing fascinating and a bit challenging since the rest of the world keeps shifting clocks all the time I'll be honest I've heard a lot of arguments about it over the years and no one seems to agree or sees the point in it generally just but I don't know if it's apparently wasn't it supposed to be a farming situation so the clocks would be the time would be changed so that the farmers would have more time more daylight hours to work because they didn't have things like light bulbs and torches and

electricity and stuff like that you know a while back so yeah is it tilling tilling the ground they call that hmm see yeah it doesn't affect me personally the only time it really affected me was when I had to manually change my watch or the clocks but now because we're pretty much all automatic it it does it all for itself so you know if I've got a phone it automatically puts the clock forward or back so when I wake up I always wake up at the correct time not early or

late yeah I do I definitely I would say when they put the clocks forward or back whatever it was the last one I think anything that it brings lighter evenings is a yes from me because it's not long ago that it was getting started to get dark at 3.30 in the afternoon because I don't go out when it's dark so I can't see really very well with my eyesight my dog Vinnie he he barks at people I can't see who he is barking at and sometimes people are walking right at

me I can't see them till it's like really close up but they're not walking towards me they just happen to be walking that way and I yeah I need to see where I am and now it's still light at 7 in the evening and that's nice so I appreciate the lighter evenings yeah definitely and we've got that for the next five months as far as other countries shifting their times I can imagine it'd be difficult for companies all working in other country you know like dealing with other countries the one

place I imagine the hardest would be the hardest hit would be air control traffic in controllers or whatever because they're trying to organize lots of different countries and flights come in and go in and land in and taking off and to move the whole clock system overnight seems like a doesn't seem like a very bright idea to have it all well it's just sound like be complicated to kind of negotiate all that and do I don't think any many countries would need to do it anyway I don't know how many

countries do do it I know we do it but why it's done in Scotland Wales and England I don't know if Northern Ireland do it hmm what's the next one Cheryl asks if Finley hadn't come along would you have gotten another pet at some point I don't know I was thinking about getting a couple of ferrets shortly before Vinnie came along and I pretty much done everything and I backed out I just couldn't face having I just couldn't know I didn't want another pet I didn't want to go through that

again and I didn't yeah I didn't want a dog Vinnie was kind of thrust upon me you know he's a I'm glad I got him but I wasn't looking to get a dog and maybe I would have had another ferret by now but I had two set up to come live with me and then I just backed out because I wasn't ready what do you mean you wasn't ready to take care of two ferrets no I wasn't genuinely I wasn't ready because I feel the good thing about Vinnie is there's

a different species although he acts similar to Andre sometimes he's a very different different character very different kind of animal slightly bigger Ravel says thoughts or for odd daylight saving time okay done that one if you I'm glad I mean I would still like a ferret I think if I was standing in here especially over the last two years I probably would have got myself a ferret as company because I missed Andre so much and just yeah but I didn't it doesn't mean I won't but it's not the right time

now for me you know and also having Vinnie his natural instincts I mean bear in mind he was bred to hunt small animals not him personally but his breed so what did he do if he saw a little ferret what would he do if he you know if he came in here and saw a cage with two ferrets or if he saw a ferret running around the floor he may move way too fast you know you might not even know what hit me just you know he's just acted on impulse

and I can't really afford for that to happen emotionally above anything else I don't want that to happen to a lovely little ferret and I couldn't live with Vinnie after that if he did that this couldn't couldn't you know anyone that it's like if anyone hurt him even if it was an accident you know if I had a friend had a dog and they got into an argument with Vinnie and Vinnie got hurt I don't think I could still be friends with that person even though it's you know it's an

accident yeah I don't trust Vinnie anyway I mean he spends we've got a new fly in the flat just a tiny little fly not not like a blue bottle or anything just a tiny little fly and he's hunted it since yesterday he's literally just you can see he's got his full attention and he's very happy when he's hunting oh there's another thing so boxing's on tonight and tomorrow night and I think in America overnight so it's a big weekend of boxing Pat Browns on Thursday evening so yeah I'm gonna watch

the boxing Pat Browns tonight and then you got Cherick Derek Chisora and Wilder on Saturday night still gotta find out where the Japanese fights are gonna be because I don't know what channels hosting them they used to be on DAZN then sometimes they were on Sky but I don't know where they're gonna be especially Inui because he's like the number two what number one number two ranked pound-for-pound boxer in the world yeah he's not fighting someone of like a huge of a huge name that pretty much brings me to the

end of this this era recording so as far as whether I'll get another pet Cheryl I can't say at this time never say never and all but probably probably not it depends on my situation it really does depends on you know where I'm living or if you know it's on a few different variables and but I would like to have a ferret because they're just just lovely so nice yeah so we'll see Shantani asks if you could be any animal what would it be and what is the weirdest things that

have happened to you I'll be honest my answer to the first question will change depending on my mood and when it's asked maybe a ferret hmm but at the same time I think I might mention this and I'd probably be gonna be a wolverine something that is self-sufficient and is pretty much has no predators like in the wild I mean I don't think I'd necessarily want to be a dog or a cat or like an animal that's in the cage yes I'll start doing that no I think in the past

I thought penguin a dragon I know they're perhaps not around so much these days but the dragon seems like a really good animal or a bird of prey and what is the weirdest thing that's ever happened to you the weirdest thing blimey I think I'm probably the same as most people and I mean a lot of weird strange things have happened over the years which is probably the same for you listening just trying to pinpoint any particular thing hmm it shouldn't be this complicated should it but then I've been alive
