Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name is Jason Newland. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

Today is Friday the 27th of March 2026 and it is 6.45 in the morning. So I am hoping, toes crossed, that it will be relatively quiet in the neighbourhood. Because yesterday I got 18 minutes done of a recording that I was trying to do and there was so much shouting and blah blah in the garden that I ended up just stopping.

Because it's just like continuous and I kept stopping waiting for the sound to kind of reduce and then I'd start talking again and then blah blah tree blah blah dog barking blah blah see that's not my dog it's someone else's dog went on and on and on. So I just gave up in the end. So yeah, this is supposed to be Q&A Friday but I have not had a question.

So maybe I can think up some of my own questions. So I'll just do my little introduction just let you know my websites. My podcast website is jasonnewland.com where you can stream all my recordings or if you choose to download all of my recordings well not all of them but the archive of my recordings including the latest are available to download for free at jasonnuland.store. What else?

What else? I'm on YouTube.

I've got a Facebook group called Jason Newland's Boring Group and I'm on all the main apps for my podcasts also on X, TikTok and Instagram. I was going to say something then but I forgot what it was. I forgot it.

I did. I forgot it. What could it have been? Oh yeah, I know what it is.

Let me have a look. Right, so I think I said it in the last request yesterday's recording but I'd like to say it again because I don't think it would have been heard because I didn't release yesterday's recording. We didn't finish it today.

I'm just having a look. A moment a look. Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday.

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday. Oh yeah, I've done it. So I want to say thank you to Michael, who sent me a PayPal gift this morning, early hours.

Yeah, 10 to midnight, no 10 to one in the morning. Excuse me. 10 to one in the morning, so thank you, Michael.

I really appreciate it, thanks. One day till the boxing. Bah, bah, bah.

So I'm looking forward to that. I realize I do need some stuff to look forward to. And tomorrow's definitely one of those things.

So it's Moses Atuma, or Talma, fighting Jermaine Franklin, and the bill's called the Magnificent Seven, and it's seven, it's gonna just be a really good bill. Lots of good fighters, and it starts at five in the afternoon as well. So that's gonna be my weekend.

And then in the evening, well, during the night, on Saturday night, there's boxing in America, as the Tower Inferno is fighting. So it's Fundora. So that'll be a really good one as well.

So I'll watch that the next day, unless I'm up in time. See, if I wake up early, then I'll watch that in the morning. Yeah.

So that'll be good. And then, next Saturday, we've got WADA against Chizora. I do believe the following Saturday is Tyson Fury fighting.

And then, possibly the following Saturday, is Usyk is fighting. Some kickboxer bloke. And then, see that, that I don't understand.

I don't understand. So fight, fight schedule, fight schedule. I understand Usyk fighting a kickboxer in a, well actually, yeah, as a kind of, because it's a gimmicky fight, isn't it? Fighting this bloke, either as a charity gig, or as a, like a non-fight, you know? Or, if it is gonna be classed as a proper fight, don't allow his belt to be up.

But one of his world titles is up on the line against this person that I think's never had a boxing match in his life. Hasn't got a professional boxing record, professional kickboxing record. But name me one person in the history of boxing that has won a world title without one professional boxing fight.

Now, I might be wrong about him having not had any fights. And he is, I think he's undefeated, he's like the best kickboxer of all time or something. Bruce Lee would still beat him.

Well, not now, but you know. Not now. And then, there is, I'm trying to think.

I'm just trying to have a look. Okay. So we've got this, oh yeah, this week, Atalma Franklin, tomorrow night.

And then Fundora, the Tower Inferno, because he's, he weighs about two stone and he's six foot nine or something. Honestly, he's an enigma. Absolutely, you don't, you just don't see that.

I've never seen it before. I mean, super welterweight champion. There have been tall fighters.

I mean, Mark Breland, I think was fairly tall. Yeah, there have been some tall fighters, like in those, I suppose, Hitman Hearns, wasn't he a welterweight when he started out? So he was tall, but he wasn't six foot, like, six foot six. He literally towers above everyone.

So I'm just having a look. Just the next, the next one will be the 20, no, that's this, this still stuff. What? Alam Mahmood.

Right, Zenith, so I don't know where that's going to be on. So then Sunday, the March the 28th, Fundor, okay, so Thurman, it's the 28th here. No, it's yeah, 28th there.

So that'll be, so the WBC World Super Welterweight Championship. So that'll be good. Look forward to watching that.

And, next week, the 3rd of April, no, Friday's the 3rd of April. So it's boxing there. Ooh.

So this is good, okay. So Pat Brown is fighting. On the Friday.

So first of all, today's a world title fight in Japan. On Friday, the 3rd of April, which means, about eight to 10 o'clock in the morning, it'll be on. Yes, oh yes, oh yes.

And they're always good fights. The Japanese fights, the bills, they're always good. Always.

And although they're generally little, they always go for the knockout. Action packed. And the good thing is they're on early in the morning.

Well, you know, during the day. For me, which is brilliant. I know it's not just for me, but you know what I mean.

You know. So that's the Friday morning. And then in the evening, Pat Brown is fighting.

And, I'll just check if that one's on the zone as well, the other one. Ooh, it doesn't say where it's gonna be shown. Okay, fair enough.

But the Pat Brown one, and ooh, blimey. So he's fighting, and if you've not heard of Pat Brown, he is a light, is he a cruiserweight? Or light heavyweight? Might be a cruiserweight. He's phenomenal.

He's good at all. And so he's, he's almost like, there's no guarantees is there, but he's classed as a guaranteed future world champion because he's so good. So that'll be nice.

And then, what? There's so much stuff on. So much boxing, I can't keep track of it. And then there's some more boxing on.

Perez against Montalva. Perez against Montana. Or Montoya.

And then there's another one, IBF World Minimum Weight Championship, which is in, I don't know where that is, United States, but it's not saying where it's on. So that's the 3rd of April, like three or four builds of boxing at different places. And then Saturday the 4th, which will be next Saturday, Wilder, Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora are fighting.

And it's Derek Chisora's last, final fight. The final fight. And you've got some, the undercard.

The undercards are usually good as well. And then, the same night on BBC Two, I mentioned this a few couple of weeks ago because I got the dates wrong. Price is fighting.

And she's, she's the current Olympic gold medallist in boxing. And she's so good. So good.

Until recently, until like a couple of weeks ago, I would say that, I would argue that she's the best in the world that I've seen. And I'm going, you know, above Serrana, I'd go above Katie Taylor. Right now, I would say, Price, no one's going to meet her, no one's going to beat her.

I wonder what her name is. I forget what her actual first name is. That's terrible, isn't it? It's not saying her name.

Where is it? It's just saying Price. Lauren Price. Right, she hasn't, according to this, she's not won a world title yet.

But she will. She's so well, it's ridiculous. The only problem, not that it's a huge problem, but, you know, the main problem for me is, especially with female boxers, when they come through the Olympics, they're generally quite old when they turn professional.

And old is, you know, for a boxer, I mean. So Katie, Lauren Price. I've got Katie on my brain.

Lauren Price is 31 years old. Now, 31, again, is not old, but as a boxer, starting out, it's not a young age. Her opponent is 35, and she's unbeaten as well.

But I don't think it's for an actual world title. But it's going to be on BBC Two. So I'll be able to watch that on the Sunday, on Catch Up.

Which would be good. It's like, wow. But then you've got Clarissa Shields, who won two gold Olympics.

She's been multi-weight world champion, unbeaten as a boxer forever. And she's still only 29. I think she got her first gold medal in the Olympics when she was about 18.

As a boxer. It's the two gold medals, two different Olympic games, and it's been a world champion for forever. Yet, for some reason, never put together against Katie Taylor, who I think are the two biggest names in boxing, female boxing.

Katie Taylor and Clarissa Shields. Yet Serrano keeps getting put together with Katie Taylor. Serrano's the biggest knockout artist out of all of them.

And I don't think she's heavy enough to really take on Clarissa Shields, because Clarissa is now a heavyweight champion. Female heavyweight. But there's not a lot of difference between super middleweight, really, and a heavyweight.

Weight-wise, I mean, there can be. You know, you could go in as heavyweight at 30 stone if you want. 300 pounds, 400 pounds.

So there's no limit to how heavy you can be, or you're allowed to be. I'm sure there's gotta be some kind of limit. If someone was like 600 pounds, how would the ring even support them? Because there's gotta be a limit, isn't there? When, you know, there's gotta be at some point where the ring would just tip over halfway through the fight, which would be funny.

I still can't believe that Big Baby Miller wore that wig during his last fight. And it started flapping during the round because it was wind. And it was just waving to everyone in the audience.

It's gotta be one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. Life in boxing is absolutely ridiculous because although he's really friendly with interviewers, he gets very, very aggressive when it comes to his future opponents. And he, you know, he gives it the bigger and he's a tough guy.

And I know he's tough, I know he's a tough guy. And I know that he could probably pick me up with one finger, but I can't take him seriously anymore. I mean, he's huge, he's about 300 pounds.

I think he's the biggest heavyweight boxer, professional heavyweight boxer kind of that's any good. And I'm sure there's some massive ones that do it. But you know, he's pretty much one of the heaviest there is.

And he's kind of a joke now. Because it's like, why would you wear? Bearing in mind, he goes into the ring bald. He's gone into the ring bald before.

And it's not like he had a lot of hair on the wig. The wig was him with almost a bald head. I just don't understand it, I don't.

But it's very funny. And he lost. I'm not sure if he had much respect to start with.

Just because the way he acts like generally. He's friendly on, you know, in interviews, very funny. But with his opponents, he just gets aggressive and it's silly.

Because it's almost an act. Because it seems like, you know, unless he's just, he's got more than one side to him, which is kind of normal, I guess. But whenever I think of him, I just see that wig flapping around on his head during a professional boxing match with thousands of people in the audience watching.

Millions around the world, possibly. It's, yeah, it's almost unbelievable when I think about it. It's brilliant.

And there's been a couple of incidences in the ring over the years. I mean, there's one where, oh, I forget his name. He's a big actor.

He's a big name in boxing. But basically he came in and I think it looked like he, I think he was defending his world title. I think.

Mariotti or something. And he basically, it looked like he'd spent the last 24 hours in a hairdresser's chair having his hair all done nicely and, you know, tied up, but like, but it looked good. The problem is, through the fight, his hair started to untie itself.

To unravel. It was in his eyes. It was banging into his opponent's eyes.

So in the end, the referee said, you gotta do something about that. And they cut his hair off. It, you know, they cut it, they cut his hair off.

In the corner, like between rounds, this is. And I would argue that he's, one of his big pride things was his hair. And suddenly his hair's ruined.

I'm not sure if the referee came up and said, I'm gonna cut that hair off if you don't. I'm gonna get that wig off. It's not a wig, it's not.

So that was funny. But there was another one. It was during, I think, Evander Holyfield against, I forgot what I was talking about there.

Started thinking about dogs and snacks. That's why I was looking for a different, in my mind, I was looking at different TV channels for some reason. So, I partially fell asleep there, sorry.

Yeah, I think it was Evander Holyfield against Riddick Bowe. And a hand glider or a paraglider or a parachutist. No, it was one of those air, yeah, it's a thing that flies.

Paraglider, that's it. So he had a parachute, but he also had a thing that was a propeller that blew him along. So he landed in the bell.

In the bell, in the ring. I've fallen asleep as I'm talking. It's the problem of listening to my own recordings.

I'm now almost ready to just drift off. So that was funny because all of the parachute got tangled up with the ropes of the ring. Luckily, no one was hurt.

I think it happened during the actual round. I do believe, but I might have made that bit up. I just well and truly fell asleep then.

Seriously, wow. Anyway, Lauren Price, she's brilliant. And I said a couple of weeks ago, like she is gonna be the best in the world.

Then I saw a lady, also gold medalist, but in taekwondo. And she did her first professional, yeah, I think it was a pro debut in Taekwondo. In boxing and never seen anything like it.

So good, so good. I can see her being a world champion within like probably about a year or so. Yeah, so good.

I forget her name. Let me have a look if I can find her name up. That might wake me up a bit, blimey.

Taekwondo, gold, golf course, no, gold medal winners. Here we go. Okay, list of Olympic medals in Taekwondo, Wikipedia.

So Sydney 2000, no, don't go back that far. No, we don't, no, we don't, no, we, no, we, no, we don't. Well, that's weird.

Why is it not coming up? Unless it was a year before. But it could have been. It doesn't seem right though, does it? 2004.

Oh, I'm looking, of course there's different weight classes, isn't it? I don't know what weight class she was at. Let's have a look. Lauren Burns.

Jade. So her name was Jade. I'm sure her name was Jade.

Why am I thinking of that? Jade on my head for some reason, Jade. I'm sure her name is Jade. So, let's have a look.

2004. So middleweight wasn't her. Featherweight's not her.

Flyweight's not her. Heavyweight's not her. Middleweight's not her.

Featherweight's not her. This is weird. I'm sure her name's Jade.

Gold. Gold finger. Oh, that's the men.

Oh, look at the men. Women. Lauren Burns.

Maybe, it says Australia. Maybe that's who it is then. It's Lauren Burns.

Oh, nope. I've found it. Blimey.

Wow. How did I manage to miss this? So, Jade Jones. So what's she been doing for 10 years? Jade Jones won the gold in the Olympics in 2012, 2016.

And from the looks of it she didn't even compete the other years. So where has she been? And again, she's 33. So I don't know what she's been doing all this time.

It's none of my business. I mean, maybe she's had kids and just been enjoying her life. So, boxing career.

On 7th March 2025, Lauren Jones announced that she was quitting Taekwondo to take up boxing. She started training with former boxer Stephen Smith and admitted that her family thought her decision was crazy. She said that she was dreaming big and it was her goal to become a two sport world champion.

On the 12th February 2026, Jones' boxing debit was announced to take place on the 7th of March in Derby and she won by second round knockout. Huh. Right, she's been doing some so her name is Lauren Jade Jade I knew her name was Jade.

I like that name Jade. So yeah, she did three left hooks in a row and it's rare to see that so it's just like in anyone fighting so Jade Jones and Lauren Price they're my two tips for the top.

Of course there's lots of boxers I don't know about, never seen so I can't comment on them but you know Jade's from Wales Lauren Price is I think Lauren Price is also from Wales Lauren Price Lauren Price Nope, O P R I C Lauren Price, yeah she's also Welsh So Lauren Price is Welsh and she's held the unified WBA, WBC IBF, IBO ring female welterweights since March 2025 She's so good She's mean Seriously Seriously mean Anyway back to So Lauren Price is fighting she's defending the world title this is next Friday on BBC2 Del Boy on one TV channel,

well it's a streaming channel so I'll watch the other one in the morning on Saturday and then alright if I come out of there some other fights in America as well not sure who that is and then Sunday the 5th of April so we've got Friday, Saturday and Sunday so Pat Brown on a Friday Derek Chizor on a Saturday Lauren Price on a Saturday a different boxing card so it's three boxing cards and if I can remember rightly we've got the Japanese boxing card on a Friday as well so two on Friday,

two on Saturday and on Sunday we've got I won't be watching it because it's on Sky Sports but it doesn't matter but it's Caroline Dubois why would she be on Sky Sports I mean I guess she's getting paid what never mind so I won't be watching that it's an all female cast but it's on Sky Sports I'm not paying, I can't pay £12 or £13 just to watch that Cortez Garcia it's also the same night so there's boxing in the evening oh what there's boxing in America as well there's so

much on it's ridiculous that's Sunday it's a Sunday in the evening but also Sunday there's boxing from Australia that'd be on Prime Video which means there's two wow there's two matches two boxing cards on a Friday one Japan, one in the UK I think one in the evening as well three or one like in America and then Sunday I think it's two and Friday it's a Friday, Saturday,

Sunday there's two different boxing shows on each day because the Australian one would also be on in like early morning time and Tim Zoo's fighting blimey and then Thursday Thursday the vacant IBF World Super Middleweight Championship is on in Canada I've never known there to be boxing on on Thursday it doesn't say who it's with though who's what channel it's on so the Friday there's another one but that's not on not on a channel I can't watch it on so the 11th ok so we've got this weekend then you've got

the 4th which is Derek Chisora and as far as heavyweights go the 11th Saturday the 11th the week after Tyson Fury against Magmudov and it's really really good bill you've got Conor Benn against Progress on the undercard you've got TKV against Ryakopor and Clark against Hooney so it's a really really good bill and that's on the Saturday night so Tyson Fury comes back and then let me have a look so that was Tyson Fury and that's on the 11th of April and it's in Japan I think that's on the 11th

of April as well so they'll be boxing during the day on Japan blimey and there's also boxing in the evening well the next Sunday early hours in America early hours here wow blimey it's so much again Friday the 13th Monday the 13th sorry of April there's boxing on Friday the 17th there's boxing on and Monday the 13th IBF World Junior Flyweight Championship that's in Japan as well so I don't know what channel is showing these that's the thing if it's disowned I can watch it if it's not I kind of can't then Friday the 17th it's Collins vs.

Lawrence and this is in the United Kingdom so I can't really tell who's going to be where I don't know if that's disowned the same day so this is the Saturday no Friday the 17th the same day in the evening like in America is Baumgardner is on as well she's one of the female superstars so she's fighting on Friday night in America and then Saturday the 18th of April so that's one week later we've got Callum Smith fighting Murrell which is a guaranteed great fight and that's for the WBO Interim

World Light Heavyweight Championship that's on in UK as well so that's Saturday it's on Disowned and then Sunday it's on YouTube there's another fight but it's in Kyrgyzstan so I'm not quite sure where that is is it near Chelsea I don't know so this is Friday the I'm so looking I'm getting confused now right the 11th so the 18th oh OK yes it's Saturday the 18th so that's Callum Smith and the 25th of April an exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Mayweather Jr I've got no idea who's streaming it and

I'll be honest I don't care I'll watch it on YouTube later but that's the 25th so there's another heavyweight fight in Paris Akoli against Shoker so that's another good one to watch and in America Baby Miller Baby Flip Flap um should have used better glue for my hair piece Miller is fighting Piro in the early hours in America the 29th of April Wednesday Nicholson's fighting Turner so that's midweek and then the 2nd of May wow but where's it on though no one's telling me where are they showing it it's Inouye

he's defending all of his titles Inouye's fights are normally on I'm sure they're on his own and that'll be on Saturday morning I guess wow so that'll be the Saturday morning then the Sunday early hours is another fight I'm looking forward to Ramirez and Benavidez he's my favourite he's my favourite fighter and the undercard that's on Prime so I'll watch that but I'll watch it later on Brezendiz and Mungui is fighting so these are really good and in the UK we've got Egan Turner against Walker on that night then Wednesday

we've got some more Japanese fighting and then Saturday the 9th of May so I'm just trying to keep track of all this 6th of May 2nd of May 29th of May it literally is jam packed because the 9th of May is Fabio Wardy is defending his heavyweight title fell asleep then sorry um yeah so May the 9th Fabio Wardy against Daniel Dubois another one I'm really looking forward to watching no way so you've got Anderson against Dekkers in the undercard ok in the evening you've got well early hours of the

morning in America the IBF World featherweight championship which is Leo against Aline hmm so we get to the 16th of May ok so there's not so much happening that weekend so it's one week break big huge boxing and then the 23rd of May is Usyk fighting Verhoeven for the WBC World Heavyweight Championship blimey and that's in Giza Egypt ah ok so I'll be watching that of course hmm just seeing what other ones there are so 6th of June again on zone in the UK I think it's Dalton Smith WBC World

Super Lightweight Championship it's Dalton Smith fighting and then on the 13th of June Mayweather Jr is fighting again another exhibition fight against Zambidis never heard of him but I don't know who he is but then he might not know me and according to this the 19th of September Mayweather Jr is fighting in Pacquiao do you think he's having financial issues to fight 3 times in a year or 3 times in a matter of 6 months and he didn't do that for the last 8 years of his professional career I wonder

what it's like out there is it cold is it warm I don't know let me just check if it is Smith Dalton so Dalton Smith no losses 19 wins 14 by KO 74% no losses his opponent is 19 19 fights 19 wins he's 29 years old his opponent has had 1 loss that's Callum Smith not Callum Smith Dalton that would be interesting that's a lot of boxing a lot of boxing I like watching boxing in the summer it's just nice because it's a nice weather and it's nice there and I

don't know if I was waffling on about nothing then because I fell asleep again I keep falling asleep when I make these recordings I never used to not with the Let Me Bore You To Sleep ones there's a lot a lot of fights coming up and that's just till June 6 months after that to get us to Christmas Christmas see ya that all starts tomorrow yes it's definitely nice to have something to look forward to hmm I do need to clean up my carrots it's a random strange thing to say

out loud isn't it and that I do believe brings us to a wrap ladies and gentlemen thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve to be happy be gentle with yourself because you deserve to feel safe
