Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name's Jason Newland. What are you doing Vinnie? What are you doing? He doesn't, he's confused like why are you talking? Why are you? Because I'm sitting down in a settee you see and I'll put the phone over there out of the way. He's really confused Vin.
You don't know why I'm talking do you? Am I talking to you or am I talking to someone else Vin? Oh what? Okay you give cuddles, you want teddy cuddles? You'd think by now that he would get used to me talking into a microphone or just talking full stop really. That's what I spend quite a bit of my time doing. I think he's thrown off because I'm using a different microphone to what I've used.
Probably, he may have never seen me use this one before. It's a called a Tula and it fits into the iPhone. Well it's got an adapter fits into the iPhone.
I haven't used this for a while. I used to use it when I made videos years ago actually but I haven't used it for some some time. So oh yeah did I say only listen when you can safely close your eyes? This has Let Me Bore You To Sleep.
It is Saturday the 7th of June 2025. I have just had some pizza. And I am also watching boxing on DAZN.
It is Fabio Wardley versus Justice Hooney. That's the main event but at the moment the first fight ended very quickly. Instead I've put on a like an extra fight on.
Which makes me think were these two that were in the ring now, were they just sitting in the changing rooms with their gloves on just in case they were needed? I mean that's gotta be weird isn't it? Not knowing whether or not you're going to be fighting. I don't know. So anyway so I'm watching this.
I've got the volume down because I wouldn't be allowed allowed to show the or play the audio of a live broadcast. It's a shame really because I'd quite like to. So this short fight has just finished.
And the winner is the person who is unbeaten. So he's just won. They haven't given the results yet.
What else? Yeah today and I don't know why I'm sitting here this afternoon because it's now oh it's now half past seven around half seven. And I was just I'd had a little bit a little bit of boredom. Just a rise and I almost couldn't be bothered to do anything.
And I thought and yeah what was going on here? You know it's a Saturday afternoon. I had the boxing to look forward to so it's a good day. A little bit rainy outside but that's not really an issue.
And I don't know I just was thinking you know what I mean? I'm just thinking hmm what's going on? Why am I feeling this way? And I realized that I kind of sometimes I want to make a recording but I don't want to actually get up. I don't want to stand up and walk over to the other to the desk get all the microphones set up turn all the equipment on all that stuff.
Sometimes I just like to just make a recording while I'm sitting here.
And it got me thinking I think part of the reason for this little rethink is because of yesterday because I did a yesterday's Let Me Boys Asleep Q&A Friday. I walked around the flat doing a recording and I used a different microphone. I think this one's a lot better than the one I used yesterday.
But I was just I quite enjoyed doing something a little bit different instead of just sitting at that table at that desk. It was nice to have the freedom maybe making a recording wherever I want whether it's at the desk whether it's sitting in this chair whether it's sitting on that chair whether it's even if it's on the exercise bike. Like that's never gonna happen but you know I mean if I want to go and make a recording in the kitchen while I'm cooking a big massive meal like that's never gonna happen as well.
But you know it'd be quite nice to have a bit more flexibility. So it got me thinking and because yesterday, not yesterday, that I think a couple of days ago I was looking for a specific lead that attaches my wireless microphone to my phone or and also to the camera and I couldn't find the lead anywhere. I must have it because I bought the wireless microphone years and years and years ago.
Couldn't find the lead but it got me looking through my stuff in the store the store cupboard. And I started to realize that I've got quite a few microphones that I've been using over the years. I mean the best one is the one that I use for the podcast normally.
That's kind of the best quality microphone I've ever had. However I've also had other good quality microphones and it got me thinking maybe what I could do is have a setup so that I can just make a recording but I have a microphone set up ready for whenever I want to make a recording wherever I am. So I have a microphone ready to the right of me here.
So I just had to just remember that my phone was on which means if someone make a phone call it would interrupt the recording and mess everything up. So I put my phone on to whatsit airplane mode. I think he's having a proper field day today because I've been in and out of the storage room anyway.
I've been getting all the leads out all the different leads. I've got so many I don't probably 90% of them I don't know what they're for but I've had quite a few out here. There's still loads in there.
I'm looking for a specific one which is one that goes into the phone and also plugs into the wireless microphone but I'm yet to find that. So I've got a big bag of leads I've put them in here and Vinnie's enjoying all the new stuff that's on the floor. And I was thinking how can where would I like to have microphones or where rather where would I like to be able to make recordings what I have done before instead of just where would I like to have the flexibility of being able to make recordings as opposed to just being in one place the whole time.
And so I was thinking other than here on this chair on my sofa I'd also like to be able to do a recording in bed maybe lying down or sitting up in bed possibly lying down and to make a recording there like a sleepy maybe a whispery kind of thing you know where perhaps I fall asleep.
And then I thought I do sometimes like making videos if I don't feel that I have to make a video it's more fun to make a video but sometimes there's a few barriers to making videos one would be the background sound another would be the lack of light in this room that I'm in now. So I started thinking hmm because I've got a I've got a bedroom really yeah I've got a bedroom and the window is possibly the same size as in here it's much brighter there's no tree blocking the light so it's got light all all the day all the time.
The sun's not shining in all the time but it gets at least half a day of sun but it's it it's light enough to do a video. So what I decided is to find a way to do the video with a decent microphone and with the camera and get it all attached and I did.
So I made a I did a JSON chat it's about half hour long this was this afternoon so I did that I also did a yeah um what did I do I fitted a microphone attachment like a microphone arm stand thing to my bedside cabinet and attached a microphone good microphone to that so it can reach me attach it to my phone and I can make some recordings there as well if I fancy it maybe at night or first thing in the morning or even you know during the day maybe
just gives me a little bit more flexibility so technically I can make a recording because even the one on the windowsill that chair there in the window in the living room in the bedroom so that's I can make a audio there an audio in my bed an audio at the desk and an audio here and I'm quite pleased with that I'm very pleased indeed in fact I've also figured out a way that I can make a recording directly onto my laptop without any other recording equipment other than just a microphone
I just need a microphone stand that stands on the on the desk that's all or there's another way of doing it which I could do it so I'll look into that that seemed like quite a good thing because it just means that I won't necessarily have to go through the whole setting up process so if I want to maybe talk online or do something like that I'll have the microphone there or if I want to make a recording I can do that whilst looking at the laptop and yeah so that's
pretty cool I could do that here I've got a laptop on my lap my lap and yeah so there's a few different options I haven't I don't know why I've kind of limited myself to just making a recording in one place maybe in my mind it felt like I was being in some way disciplined perhaps self-disciplined but I think having a little bit more flexibility just seems a bit nicer makes it a bit more fun knowing that yeah because sometimes I lie in bed and I think oh I'm really in
the mood to make a recording right now and I could potentially make a really nice sleep recording really slow really sleepy you know like because that's what mood or that's what mode or that's my mindset in that moment but I can't because there's no mic in there well there wasn't and I'd have to come in here and set it all up and by then you know I wasn't in bed anymore obviously so this yeah I can't have done this I'm I spent all afternoon doing it putting it all together and
I'm kind of happy with how it's going I still need to figure out I still want to go into the storage room tomorrow and maybe start to sort through the stuff because what I noticed yesterday when I was making that recording I mentioned that if uh if one of the switches flipped or whatever you know on the electric and the electricity went out I wouldn't be able to get to the fuse board the fuse switched flipped whatever you want to call it too many obstacles so it really wouldn't make a
lot of sense to get that sorted while I can you know while I think about it yeah yeah so now there's a it says back to live right hopefully this is not I'm moving my hand this isn't uh okay round one I need to have a drink so this is Perez versus Ward Ward is expected to win but Perez looks um I think he's chasing a fly Perez looks I don't know he looks really mean he looks like he's here for business he definitely is not here just to make the
numbers up I've never seen either of them before so I don't know really it's a 10 round fight and I don't even know what their stats are I did watch them the pre-fight stuff so the when they all get together and talk to each other you know a big table and then the weigh-in as well the next day so I watched all that so I kind of got to know some of the the undercard fighters but I kind of didn't know any of them really it's only the main fight Fabio
is the only one that I've really knew out of everyone I've been following him since he started actually I remember seeing him on YouTube there's YouTube videos of him with his white collar fights and he was knocking people over and I thought wow and he was turning professional and I was like because he was local to where I live so it was quite exciting and I've just followed him right through I remember it was during um lockdown and he was getting he was losing fight not losing fights but he was
because of cancellations yeah cancellations and I think he had a couple of times where it was cancelled and he was like someone was interviewing him saying how do you feel about that and he said it doesn't matter I'll make my money I'll still make my money I'll still you know my time will come and I thought that was quite seen quite a good attitude to have that he wasn't in a hurry and he believed in himself and being a heavyweight boxer means that if you're if you're good there's a lot
of money to be made a lot of money so what just for some reason there's actually two men in the audience that are dressed identical what they remind me of is do you remember during Malcolm X time when Malcolm X was surrounded by people all dressed the same it looks they both look a little bit like that um what they called the panthers or black panthers or something but they've both got exactly the same shirt on exactly the same tie exactly the same suit and wearing sunshades they might be twins
I don't know but it's just I mean even the shirt collar is exactly the same so I do wonder what's going on there maybe they just like to dress up the same maybe maybe they've never met each other before and they just ended up sitting together and they've not noticed yet they might not have even noticed that they're dressed the same they may be long-lost twins I saw this YouTube video and as always there's no way of knowing if it's true or not if it's real but there is these two
gamers and they were talking on camera and there was a woman in the background of one of them and the other bloke said why is my girlfriend in your home and the other bloke said it's not my it's my girlfriend's not your girlfriend why is Tracy in your home this is not Tracy she's she's called Flamingo making up the names no that's Tracy she was literally here an hour ago he said well she's been here that whole time and it turned out that they were living in different parts of the
country one was in Texas and one was in San Francisco or something like that so there's no way that she could have got there in an hour so the bloke who didn't have his girlfriend with him who was saying that that's my girlfriend sitting behind you he phoned up his girlfriend and said where are you she said I'm at the garage like I told you he said are you sure you're not in San Francisco she said how would I get to San Francisco in an hour he had no answers for
that he was like I don't know so what he did he said look at look at this there's someone that looks like you here she said you got a woman in your house have you he said no no it's on online what OnlyFans no wait a minute are you on OnlyFans no no no no let's move on so he showed he had her on um camera phone or whatever and showed the camera to the screen and like wow we look the same and it turned out said uh both of them
was adopted and they had something else in common apart from being identical so they decided to meet each other like you know the two blokes just meet met each other and took the their you know the two the two partners got together I don't know what happened after that again I'm not sure if it's true not not what I'm telling you because it did happen on a video but I don't know if it was just like you know made up or something but it's quite nice there was a you know
it's kind of like hmm that's nice did you ever wonder sometimes if you were a twin I have I always felt there was something a little bit missing I mean I mean other than my part of my brain probably but I always wanted to like you know have I got a twin is someone not telling me something you can hear that there's a birdie proper tweeting proper tweeting so yeah what we in round three Perez and Ward it's really weird without the commentary I'm kind of not really following it really
it's it's just two people punching each other it's weird the excitement isn't really there because I don't know who either of them are and there's you know the commentators usually joking around and stuff and talking complete nonsense at times and ain't got any of that it's just to me at the moment they're just cuddling each other and punching each other which like make your mind up you enemies or lovers just what what are you doing one minute they're dancing next minute they're punching it's like come on so I don't know
I got one of those days where it's very damp and I'm feeling it I'm feeling the dampness a little bit no I'm not when I say that I don't think I'm not saying I feel damp I'm not that I'm just it's you know that little bit of just feel of it oh Fabio's just arrived at the stadium so it just shows you how far away the actual main fight is they're supposed to be on yeah they're supposed to be on at 9 30.
I think the reason for this is it's not just it's yeah I mean it's a stadium and maybe they have to close at a certain time but I think it's also because there's another big fight on on Sky so I'm guessing they want to do this so that people can watch both fights so it looks like Fabio's possibly got his dad with him it's really I guess it makes sense but all the heavyweights have always got big dads you never got because you've got my dad and my granddad my granddad
wasn't big my dad's big um not necessarily height wise but just really broad strong you know that kind of body and my granddad was slim also strong but very slim probably weighed about three stone lighter than my dad and probably four stone or five stone when my dad was probably his heaviest when he was you know in his 30s or whatever 40s 30s 40s so you know but you see the the boxes the heavyweight boxes which my if my dad had been a boxer they'd have been a heavyweight they're always
big the fathers are always big always I've never seen I don't know if you ever see one heavyweight boxer where the father was like a lot smaller than them I don't know but sometimes I do see boxers that have kids and the kids are smaller so they've got you know mind you I think with Nassim Hamid Prince Nassim he his kids are bigger than him because he was a featherweight pretty much so his kids are more lightweight but then some heavyweights have kids and end up being like middleweight boxers am
I going to talk about boxing the whole time I might be is there something that we really want to listen to maybe not maybe just need to drift off to sleep I need to get a handle for this thing because it's it's kind of a weird grip it's strange it's really weird to talk whilst the boxing's on and to have no sound I mean I've done it before it's not the first time but it's not a regular occurrence but it is it does look strange when there's it looks a bit
pointless and they're just punching each stop hurting each other just make up go out and have a kebab or you know go dancing just what what are you doing have you even tried to be friends you might have more in common than you realize uh yeah it kind of ruins it need a bit of audio a bit of commentating it's really weird as well looking at some of the there's a woman in the corner I don't think she's a doctor and she looked right at me oh no it started again
no it's weird she looked right at the camera I do wonder though sometimes why do people go to the boxing when all they do is stare at their phone like the whole time or talk to the person next to them because I get a little bit distracted by the audience sometimes and I do watch them and it's almost like why why if you're not into it don't do it maybe I'm old-fashioned this is for the fake oh that's gone there's a lot of birdie activity going on out there I don't
know where Vinnie is I think he's asleep somewhere I'll put stuff on his blanket which is on the floor so he can't you know he likes to sleep on there but I've covered it with stuff so I don't think he's happy with me he's furious furious so I've been out twice today went out about eight eight o'clock something like that and I went out again did I go out again yeah yeah I did because I went a different way so that would have been probably about five four three I don't
know something like that which is because it's been raining pretty much kind of on and off all day not heavy heavy but just wet you know just wet and I just didn't fancy it really didn't fancy being in it makes me a little bit congested a little bit blocked up sometimes I just don't like going out no I can't remember the last time I did a recording on a Saturday quite often there's boxing on I don't do any recording unless I do one in the afternoon but this would be easier
though if I didn't have to hold it in my hand sorry if I'm moaning just I guess maybe I'm just lazy lazy I wonder if there's some kind of gadget or contraption that can hold this ah maybe a wire from the ceiling um do you know like um do you remember sporting events years ago I mean I'm gonna I'm gonna think of boxing but I guess it was the same with well I'm just gonna think about boxing a long time ago the microphone would be lowered into the ring to the
commentator and they would announce like the next fight or they'd announce the winner or whatever now you know because we're wireless and stuff isn't it now but that would be quite handy to have maybe a wire hanging down from the ceiling with this microphone just kind of I'm pointing but just there just to the right of me so it's not in my face but it's fairly close to my mouth but not in my mouth why would I want it in my mouth this does have a stand but if I put
it over there on a stand it won't pick up my voice very well so I kind of need it a few inches away in order for my voice to be picked up yeah I suppose the I mean I could use this I could maybe I need a microphone that I hold like you know with a you know it's the what are they called like reporters have you know where they hold the microphone and they hand it they either point it towards a person this is a proper battle they're having I
feel like I'm missing out a little bit by not really taking much notice I think one of them just missed and just hit the referee by accident I've seen that a few times it just shows you though that as they get into the rounds it looks like they're really going vicious but I've seen boxers throw their really big punch it's hit the referee and the referee hasn't even flinched which means sometimes they're so exhausted they're not they're not throwing hard punches anymore they're throwing it's probably hard to the other boxer
but they're knackered they're so knackered that the punches they are throwing wouldn't it's probably a much um depleted power percentage to when they first started fighting because I've seen literally referees just not even blink when they're being punched straight in the face by accident by a left hook or a right hook or whatever yeah when the referees kind of got in the way to to separate them I've seen a couple of referees get knocked down as well that's funny it is I'm sorry it is I mean generally boxers would never
do that on purpose I've seen a couple of issues when boxers have done it because they didn't agree with the results but generally you know it's the thing that boxers are taught right from an early age is discipline isn't it it's about respecting the referee respecting your opponent all that stuff which is in some ways it stops some of the boxers from moving forward and getting getting further in their career because I see that sometimes the fighters will step back so if uh like the other day I don't know let's
say a boxer slips doesn't fall over they slip on the canvas and the other fighter just steps back you know he gives them a chance to get their footing back when in reality they could have just gone in and potentially just knocked them out some would argue well that's unsportmanlike I would argue me me that's me arguing I would argue that I think in in a professional situation where especially when there's like a title that you know a world title or whatever your career is at stake take every advantage so
I've seen it again when when a boxer turns their back on their opponent and the other boxer just steps back before the referee even gets close to them where where the you know the other boxer could have took advantage of that and again knocked them out and it would be perfectly legal because you have to protect yourself at all times and if you turn your back on the point an opponent that was you know you're putting yourself at risk so I kind of understand it in the amateurs because so much
of it is discipline and it's it's a sport and it's a sportsmanship is probably really important in the amateurs but when it comes to a professional you know I mean Wilder turned his back on Zili Zhang big bang Zhang and Zhang went up and punched him not from behind he punched him he did a left hook and punched him into you know so he knocked him out it's kind of weird it's because that's what should have happened in a weird way I mean maybe it's not sportman like but then it's
not sportman like to turn your back on someone you know it's rude it's just rude don't turn your back on me so yeah um although I did see a box in the other day well a few weeks ago it was what's his name what was his name wow I've forgotten his name I know who he is I've just forgotten not Deontay um Durante Davis Tank Davis he was firing and he was not farting fighting he was defending his world title so it was a big fight and Tank Davis is one
of the most popular fighters in the world as well so it was um pay-per-view I think at one point he he turned his back turned his back on his opponent and went to his corner so that his corners could wipe his eyes now his opponent could have took advantage of that and knocked him clean out and he would have won the world title and it'd be in his right to do it because he literally just turned his back in fact now I think he took a knee took a knee to
stop the fight didn't get a count which you're supposed to if you take a knee it's it's a it's it's a standing count if you if you take a knee it's a standing count unless you slip if you slip it's different but if you literally of your own vocation is it if you take a knee that's a standing count that's a you know but he didn't get that he just turned his back on the referee went and um did got his eyes saying oh he had uh his hair was running
the dye from his hair was running in his eyes and I think he still won the fight even though some would argue the other boxer was much better on the night there was also another fight with Mayweather and Ortiz I think is it Ortiz Ortez Ortiz so what happened is Mayweather was had him against the ropes and Ortiz headbutted Mayweather the referee jumped in oh he stopped doing that and gave him a a lot of point off so he you know went put his finger out and did a point in
all four directions of the ring and I mean this was Mayweather defending his world title one of his world titles it's a long time ago probably about 15 years ago so the referee said okay carry on fighting Ortiz put his hand out to say sorry so he could pack gloves and Mayweather gave him a left hook had a right crossover and knocked him clean out so Mayweather was in his right to do that because the referee said start fighting but you know there was controversy like how unsportsmanlike is that when
someone puts their arm out but then you could say yeah but he was headbutting him a few minutes ago he was headbutting me I'm not gonna shake his hand he was headbutting because that is I mean that could wow you know the the boxer I said that looked really really angry and mean he's now knocked the other bloke down twice in that round he's just been saved by the bell wow I'm probably missing potentially the fight of the night it's really oh okay sorry it's really um they're just letting us
know what round is next he's it's weird because I've never seen this bloke before the is it Perez I've never seen him before I don't think but there was something in his eyes when he as he was walking to the ring also when he was sitting at the table during the press conference there was something in his eyes the way he walked towards the ring like he was on a mission and now it's round nine and I don't know because I've not been watching it enough to really do scoring plus
I'm not I'm not a judge either am I so I don't know but the fact that he got he knocked the other bloke down he knocked Ward down twice in the last round and now Ward is hanging on I think it's just a matter of time before he gets gone down and that wasn't even a big knockout he basically just took a knee he's done if he carried is the referee's note they've chucked the they've chucked the um towel in that was there'd be no point because if they'd let that
go on it had gone down again well you know Perez is now well he's not smiling but he looks I do wonder what they say to each other because we can't hear it and I do wonder because it looks like they're having like a really serious conversation but what are they talking about I mean I don't know just I like your tattoos especially the ones on your back how do you what do you mean well I've spent a lot of time cutting didn't we so I've got to see the ones
on your back your ears smell lovely I don't know what is it that they say to each other at the end maybe during the fight as well god you could really do some trash talking couldn't you get really close up to them saying or just say stuff about their I don't know you know be rude I mean I'm not even going to think about what I could say I can but I'm not going to say it it is funny just I do wonder without any without any sound the bloke that's
just one still looks a little bit angry a little less angry than before but he's that was a really good good he reminds me a bit of um Denzel from Only Fools and Horses he looks a bit like Denzel Obataya's fighting tomorrow so that'll be 10 o'clock in the morning tomorrow as grew the IBF cruiserweight world championship so it's two days of boxing there's there's also some boxing in the morning like early hours in America and there's also boxing on sky as we speak and so there's two events going on
tonight I just don't know it's going to be weird because the one is the sky show and it's it's got a big name and I guess it's just going to depend on who people want to watch obviously kind of makes sense off both it's just raining there there's a lot of people absolutely getting drenched but all the people in the stands ironically you know the paying customers are dry or yeah like the ones that like the standard people they're all in the stadium seats so they're covered there's a cover for
them but all the ringside tickets all the ringside seats are on the pitch it's a football stadium so there's the ring is in the middle and on the outside is you know where all the other boxers and the other the trainers and I guess probably in the main event maybe some celebrities and stuff might be there but they're all getting wet there's no covering for them well I kind of don't know why they don't just extend it when I extend the cover so it covers at least the people in the
front row the front row deserves to be covered the photographers are getting completely soaked that was weird there's a really weird noise there in the garden yeah really loud but it sounded like it's like a Siri kind of voice but really loud in the garden don't know where it's if it's in the garden or if it's in I don't know it's weird very weird now some loud music started so I'm just talking a bit quieter now I don't know how long I've been talking for but I don't think you'll be
able to hear the music anyway because it's nowhere near the microphone oh Richardson so um I think that is oh bloody is it Liam Richardson he's a local fighter he's coming up so I want to watch him I want to actually watch this with a volume on watch him with a volume on because he's an Olympic champion and this is his very first fight and he's literally from the same place he lives where I live like in this town so he is I think he's the only British Olympian that we
had in 2024 but in the boxing I mean so yeah very often very often Olympians whether it's I think he got silver he might got bronze or silver but any any Olympian that pretty much wins a medal in the boxing most of them go on to have good careers as a professional most of them in this country there's a there's the other one that doesn't be even those ones that don't win a world title generally have you know a good career before losing if that makes sense but Audley Harrison he
sure he made a lot of money and he didn't quite get to the the levels of being a world champion but because he he won the gold super heavyweight title in I couldn't even tell you when it was 2008 maybe maybe it was before that it might have been before it might have been 2004 it's quite a while ago but he there's a few boxes that I mean there was an Olympian I don't know if he did he get got I'm not sure if he got silver or he got oh
I don't know but he was an Olympian I'm not sure if he won a medal but he was an Olympian and he was a heavyweight and he turned professional he had one fight his name was Delicious Ori what a great name but he had one fight won and he retired decided he didn't want to do anymore decided to do something different which good good luck whatever he decides to do but I've never known that before never known a an Olympian professional boxer to only have one fight so obviously there's other
stuff going on I was just looking forward to because he kept coming on tv and it was always like doing these interviews at boxing shows and you know I'll be doing my making my my debut soon and and he kind of came and that was it and it's such a lovely name it's quite rememberable isn't it rememberable you know what I mean Delicious the newest heavyweight Delicious the latest contender for the world title Delicious no one's gonna forget that name are they Delicious Scrummy Delicious Ori is fighting Scrummy Bing I
don't know so I don't know see they use weird language you know when they say oh coming up coming up it doesn't mean it's coming up next and I've seen it on tv when they said coming up next Starsky and Hutt show we're going back 40 years 50 years the Starsky and Hutt show next but now it's time for Wonder Woman it's like no next is now what are you talking about how can next be after what's next is now no now is now next is afterwards it's like no it's
just really just I don't I don't get it at least really it was a new thing recently well the last 20 years or so but I don't hear it said so much now on television probably because I don't watch television hardly ever but you still like bug me like what are you saying next it's Agatha Christie's pearl necklace extravaganza but first it's Charles Dickens on the toilet it's like what but before that it's like what so yeah it's just just it's like they're messing with the language messing with the language
that I created now I don't know if this is going to be the fight the Richardson one it might not be are they right they're doing a remembrance for a boxer so I'm not sure who it is I think it's Mike McCullen because he passed away this week and he was he was a big name in the middleweight division back in late 80s and 90s I can't hear what they're saying so I don't know there was a picture but it was very Mike McCullen yep it is him Mike McCullen he
came over here came over here and he beat Harold Graham he beats Michael Watson oh no it isn't it's James Cook unless it's both no I'm sure I saw Mike McCullen on there that's my eyesight I'm looking at the actual the writing on the image I'm sure I saw Mike McCullen that's gonna bug me I'm gonna have to go back and check that so hopefully I won't disturb the microphone oh my arm is stiff oh not in a good way all right let's go back uh right I just had to
turn the volume up and replay it yes it was two people they're remembering so the very last person was a different name but I was correct it did say Mike McCullen on the other one so well good I had to turn the volume up to find out because that was bugging me it's like I know my eyesight needs a little bit of a test but it shouldn't be that bad man wow yeah so Mike McCullen I think he also didn't he beat Iran Barkley as well I think he won I
think he won like three world titles I don't know who James Cook is though I feel like I should but I'm not sure who he was um all the stadiums starting to get busy more people are filling the stadium now it was completely empty when this whole show started there's like a few people dotted around now I'd say it's uh probably a third a third full like the stadium area probably a third full and this next fight is Richardson against Prot Kunis who's had one loss and Richardson had no fights
at all this is very first fight and I kind of want to watch this like properly so I'm going to go sorry or should I just continue just I'll watch it without I'm still interested so I'll watch it without um without the sound in fact what I'm going to do is I'm going to skip go back to live because I didn't yeah I paused it for a bit who will win something like 87 percent think that Richardson will win yeah the thing is it's it's difficult to know what a professional
is going to be like in their first fight after being amateur because I mean Mike Tyson was the same as an amateur as he was a professional he just went in there to knock people out but some people they readjust how they are and yeah some fighters they they don't they only find their like knockout power when they become professional I sound like I know what I'm talking about I'm just making it up mind you I kind of on the other man's side so Richardson great but the other bloke's bald
and I think us baldies need to stick together so I want him to win yeah I mean this is the this is the time if you're going to upset any kind of applecart I've never understood that terminology what applecart what's an applecart what's apples got to do with it but if he can if he goes in here and knocks out Richardson bearing in mind he's only had one knockout in his whole career and he's lost twice and had eight wins if he goes in and knocks Richardson out the olympic medallist it will catapult him into a well-paid fight that'd be interesting I wonder if it'll happen good stuff like that does happen sometimes sometimes the I mean it happened to Ima...
Iman... well Amir Khan not Imran Khan Ima Khan Amir Khan he he was everything was going really well and he got into I think it was Bregis and he got and he got knocked out bang gone and it wasn't even a title fight it wasn't for a world title he came back and won world titles but you know if that if it had been paired up against that same person in his first fight that might have derailed his whole career I'll tell you what about Amir Khan one of the fastest
fastest hands I've ever seen one of them in in my life of watching boxing so quick right so so far Richardson is so he's right-handed so he's unorthodox he's he's fighting quickly he's not he's very fast punches very accurate but the other bloke hasn't done anything other really than well wobble his head a bit but he's he's got a good guard up but he's yeah he's throwing punches and bunches old Richardson as I like to say and he's landing they're either landing on him or landing on his gloves so they're
all landing somewhere in that kind of range none of them seem to be it's very yeah very quick don't seem to be powerful just from a sense of right the internet's just disconnected really my internet's disconnected what the heck I'll tell you what I better not do that during the main fight okay there's a problem playing a stream my internet is connected fine join live why is he doing that absolutely ridiculous there's nothing wrong with the internet I can even check internet network system no network network wi-fi is connected so
what's the problem Mr Dizone it's a Dizone issue it's not not a me issue join live nope it's not letting me something wrong with my connection with my network it's a Dizone thing honestly it's not working watch from the start nope this is ridiculous this happened once during an Anthony Joshua world title fight on sky sky box office and the whole thing just went the the screen went dead for about four minutes and the fight was over very annoying now let me see if any of the other apps are not
working right this is saying there's no connection as well right okay it's a network wi-fi it says that I've got wi-fi and it's all fine the wi-fi is all fine is YouTube working right is YouTube working no YouTube's not working either it's almost like someone's messing with me right internet's now working why why did it do that I don't get it why what's in it for them I bet the fight's over now guarantee you'll be over now that this has happened no it's still going all right my prediction right round
one of four what round one of four what the heck back to live no right that was that that was a different fight I think there's something wrong going on here so Richardson it's now round two of six Richardson is doing what he was doing before very fast he's moving his head moving his body it's really what's weird is they're both I mean it's very lightweight so very slim but guaranteed so strong they just it's almost like an illusion that someone that slim would have any kind of strength but blimey
they they go and it doesn't look like they're punching hard either but guaranteed they are it's just it doesn't look like he to me it looks like Richardson is enjoying it you know it's his first fight really what's the point in training for six weeks or 10 weeks and just especially on your very first fight just knocking the person out in 20 seconds when I understand from an excitement perspective that's a good idea to get the knockout but also some experience as well he wants to it's good you know from
a professional managerial perspective it is it's a good idea to get some rounds in plus if he does it in a way like he's doing it because he's completely outboxing his opponent like completely so actually it's interesting to watch it's entertaining because he is completely dominating but I think once he's got over once he's got past round three I think he should just knock the bloke out or go for the knockout I think three rounds of um playing with his food is enough the thing is the other bloke doesn't seem
to be hurt but he probably is because he's taken a lot of adverts brilliant what is that I mean I pay money for DAZN every month I pay yet I have adverts and you know what I paid 10 I'm not gonna anymore but I paid 10 pound to have no adverts on sky tv entertainment it's kind of um it's now tv do you know what they do instead they put 30 seconds of promoting another program it's like I don't I'm paying not to have adverts but they still waste 30 seconds
it's just 30 seconds it annoys me it's like what no and DAZN adverts even on pay-per-view boxing they have adverts so you like paid like 20 quid or 24 pound or whatever it is and you still get adverts it's like no if I'm paying I don't want any adverts oh my dear I just became a I realized I had all that moaning inside me oh there's always someone in the audience that's waving at the camera whenever like the camera spans they see themselves probably on the big screen like wet themselves
of excitement well that was a bit harsh wasn't it nothing wrong with being excited because you're on the camera you're on telly waving waving hello to your kids or your family what have I got to be so bitchy about it I don't know I don't know why that happened sorry I feel I want to go and just apologize to that person it's only 26 miles away from here it's not that far I actually used to live around the corner literally around the corner from that stadium in Ipswich I would be
able to hear this right now live I'd be able to hear the shouting and the introduction and all that stuff so what I could do if I wanted to I could go and sit in the car park opposite with my phone or my iPad or whatever watch streamer on the zone turn the volume off and just have the atmosphere of the concert well I could just lean against the wall of the stadium outside as I get all the atmosphere I wouldn't need you know you'd hear all the screaming and shouting
all the music as they walk up to the ring and all that stuff but I don't live there anymore so I'm not doing that I never had box in there when I lived there they used to have the concerts sometimes and I literally lived in London Road which was a very famous road actually in Ipswich but Portland Road leads to London Road and so it is literally just around the corner and I remember there was this yeah they have a market they have a market in the car park I think
on a Sunday I do believe and the buddhist center is the other side of the car park the new buddhist center wasn't there the old the old one was there but they managed to buy a new one after I moved out of the community because once I moved out of there they decided to sell the not just because of me but they decided to sell the property and put a mortgage down on a new new buddhist center yeah in 2004 that's when I lived in London Road is it London Road
London Street London Road there's a lot of London Roads they all lead to London I mean all roads lead to somewhere don't I guess and Elton John was on he was in concert at Ipswich Portland Road in Ipswich it was so loud I could hear him singing from my bedroom it was a summer it was probably July time July yeah probably July time because it was out of the box out of the football season I guess it's like now the football season isn't on at the moment is it I don't
think in June that's why they're able to have boxing and probably concerts and stuff like that unless football is on then I'm wrong do apologize but you know I couldn't hear EastEnders could not hear the television I had to turn the television off couldn't hear it I didn't want to hear Elton John which is weird because you kind of think I'd be grateful for you know getting a free concert and I mean back then he sounded he just sounded like Elton John which might sound like a silly thing to say
but he's not he hasn't got um see this is Richardson's this is now nearly the end of round four he needs to knock him out now it's about time to kind of finish it now I mean he's he's out boxed in probably three to one four to one five to one seriously he's been he's been um come on Prot Kunis come on it's the opponent come on knock him out I think really this is probably the easiest fight that Richardson has had for a long time because he's been fighting world
champions in the amateur game isn't he he's been fighting people the best fighters from all over the world as an amateur so now he's fighting he's fighting someone that is not in that league and I think it's really easy for him this isn't even I don't think it's even challenging him at all yeah I never really thought about that before it kind of makes sense doesn't it that you go from being an amateur if you're in the olympics you do the world games you do commonwealth games you're fighting the best
of the best for all over the world the bestest of the bestest former world champions like amateur world champions former olympians future olympians and then you become a professional and you end up fighting someone that's had 150 fights and have only won six and it's like oh it's it's almost it looks a little bit like he's just having a little light spa I mean there's got to be pressure this is his debit fight and he's you know he's he's at a stadium which it's not I mean it's 26 miles away
from his own stadium but he's he's quite close to home so he's going to have people that he knows that come to watch him other than the olympics it'll be the first time well it'll probably be the first time he's been on like a boxing channel like this yes I suppose there's some pressure and he's got his managers or promoters watching and I suppose they've invested money in him and yeah so yeah he's probably got there's that kind of pressure that I'm never really gonna understand but at the same time
it's almost it's just it's nice to see I've not followed him as an amateur so I knew who he was because it was always in the local paper especially during the olympics because he lives in this town that I live in and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to follow him but I didn't really know him before that I didn't know of him before that but then you've got some people to become professional and I don't know there's an excitement about them straight away I saw Amir Khan
for example he was getting yeah he was he was famous before he even became famous I think I must I reckon that when Amir Khan fought for the olympic title the final in the olympics that was probably the most watched boxing one of the most watched olympic boxing events in the UK ever because I think he was 17 years old at the time it was a big big deal about him how well he's done which he did do really well he didn't win the gold he won silver I think if
I remember correctly but he was 17 and I remember actually I was at university at the time and I remember coming home I think I was I might not have been anyway wherever I was I came home excited to watch it and I've not done that very often with boxing in the olympics I did it with Joe Joyce I did it with Frazier Clark can't think of any other olympians other than Amir Khan that are like boxing wise that I got like super excited about at that stage in their career
I mean even Anthony Joshua I kind of missed that period because I didn't have a tv at the time so I didn't get to see the olympics or did I no I did I followed Anthony Joshua what am I talking about I did have a tv yeah so I followed the 2010 olympics 2010 that'd be 2008 wouldn't that 2008 olympics yeah wow so that was when Amir Khan and 2012 is when Anthony Joshua won the olympics I don't know where I was in 2012 I was working so maybe I didn't
get to see it yeah possibly when I was at university I had a bit more a bit more flexy time plus I could take time off without getting in trouble generally can't do that so much with a job no and what else oh someone's yelling but they're putting their their hands together you know you know when someone yells but they put their hands together like it's going to make any difference like it's somehow going to make it louder or it's going to direct the sound to the individual particular fighter that
they're aiming at almost like they're trying to make some kind of invisible ball paper paper tube it's so weird it's gonna make no difference if you put your hands in front of your mouth like and like you know cup your hands it's not gonna make the volume louder probably maybe marginally but not really I don't think I think the volume is the volume it's a little bit like people that lick their fingers when they're turning pages in a book that's a deal breaker that is that is can you imagine you
fall in love with someone and then you're like wow everything's perfect and you've got to get married and they're just like you know you're at the registry office maybe and or the church and you need to sign the book the marriage book and it's like oh they go to turn the page and they put lick their finger to to turn the page like oh gotta call the whole thing off now it's ruined you've ruined everything don't lick your finger to turn a page what are you what were you born 1833
wow what are you Charles Dickens's mum come on do you still have a chimney an open fire in a chimney do you still get deliveries of coal every week I mean come on so yeah that's uh well obviously it's a really good thing to do if you enjoy doing it but come on man come on baby stop oh there's I think there's one more fight and then that's it one more fight and then that is it the final get a fight with Fabio Wadley Fabio is a good name isn't it
I mean other than the word you know short for Fab Fab Fabio Fabio what a brilliant name and really as far as the problem we got with the heavyweight boxing is there's a lot of there's a lot of um hype over over Moses Atuma and I I'm a big fan of his and I think that he he does things I've never seen before in a way that I've never seen that and he's 20 years old and you know he's he's phenomenal the thing is for some reason these boxing experts seem
to be forgetting that there are other boxers out there that are also undefeated that are also like former Olympians there's a two-time Olympian gold medalist that's a heavyweight unbeaten fighter I mean that's you know that's something you know that's someone to look out for there's I forget his name but he's beaten he's unbeaten and his bloke has beaten everyone really well he's beaten a lot of big fighters a lot of big names and he's still not talked about he's mentioned but he's not talked about he's not you know no one's
psyched or it's almost like if if one of our guys here fought him it almost wouldn't be a big fight even though he's unbeaten and he beats Zhang and he beat who did he beat he beats um what's his name the the monster uh the twitchy monster bloke I forget his name from Russia or something he was just scary looking bloke but he beat him and then he beats someone else he just beats everyone I mean he's unbeaten so I guess that makes sense but I forget his name I know
his name Murakovich or Mukurov or something like that he he out boxes everyone his hands hands are quicker than everyone else apart from perhaps for speed I don't know if there's any other faster faster fighters faster punches than him and maybe Yusik I mean Yusik's I mean overall Yusik is the top but he's at the top for a reason but if he keeps going he will get beat as everyone does no one stays unbeaten if they don't retire it's just simple fact you can't it's just impossible otherwise you'd be be
like 94 years old in the ring you know it's it's like yeah you're gonna get beat at some point it's weird I tell you what you know they say oh how would how would Mayweather deal with someone like Hagler or how would Mike Tyson or how would Yusik deal with someone like Rocky Marciano or Muhammad Ali or blah blah whatever and those comparisons are almost pointless because the rules of boxing has changed over the years and there was a time when you could still be punching them when they were down
there was times when there wasn't a standing count so they could get up there was no go to your corner to go to go to a neutral corner there was none of that stuff and you could just continue punching them you know this things have changed so much since you know the early days of boxing there was weight differences there's now so many different weight classes there was a time when people were fighting each other and there was like two stone between them middleweights were going and fighting heavyweights I think
was it Jack Dempsey did that I don't know I'm getting confused about different people but it's different rules I mean for example there was a time when you could I mean Lloyd Hunnigan in one of his world title fights he got into the he you know he had they had the break the one minute break he was standing there ready to start again the next round the other boxer when the bell rang was only just getting off his stool Lloyd Hunnigan run over and knocked him out before he'd even hardly
stood up so that's when they changed the rules they changed it so they don't start until the boxers are ready you know even at the start of the next round never used to be like that used to just like run over and start fighting so it's little things that have made a big difference so the rules the gloves of different sizes there's a different weight division so now like there's about 50 different weight divisions there's like a few pounds between each weight so never used to be like that 40 50
years ago so yeah it's it makes no you got Muhammad Ali how would he fare against someone like I don't know one of the heavyweights of today I mean the weight difference the height difference would be tremendous although there was some huge heavyweights back then as well but Muhammad Ali probably would be more cruiserweight he wouldn't even probably be a heavyweight now if he was around now he would have been probably like cruiserweight you know Sydney Olympics they've got light heavyweight and heavyweight I'm pretty sure Muhammad Ali won the light
heavyweight world title at the Olympics I might be wrong I might be wrong I need to check that but I can't but then they introduced cruiserweight in the 80s I think it was the 80s it wasn't the 70s it was the 80s I think and then they introduced the heavyweight so light heavyweights Evander Holyfield won the light heavyweight world type Olympic no he didn't he got disqualified Evander Holyfield got disqualified from the Olympics because he threw a punch just as a referee was saying stop and he knocked the opponent out
this was in the Olympics probably what 1984 probably maybe even earlier because he was around for a long time he was yeah I think probably 84 because he then went on to win so he was light heavyweight he fought as a light heavyweight as a an Olympian as an amateur and then he became cruiserweight world champion and then he went on to win the world the heavyweight title four times so the super heavyweights in Olympics they're the ones that then go on so heavyweight is the equivalent of cruiserweight I know
what I'm talking about I think I might not so if someone wins a super heavyweight they'll become professional as a heavyweight if they won just heavyweight chances are they might not but chances are the term professional be they'll be cruiserweight yeah yeah there's also oh there's another way as well isn't there that is hardly acknowledged which is between cruiserweight and heavyweight I forget honestly it's almost like it's it's not even it's like a one of those things that people just don't really take seriously apart from the people are world champions
I guess see this bloke McMalley or something oh um O'Reilly I think it's O'Reilly it's really strange he's got this Clark Kent Superman kind of thing going on Big Bang O'Reilly he wears these big glasses or O'Cleary sorry O'Leary he wears his big glasses and he just when he takes the glasses off he just looks so different it's it's kind of weird just really looks different I mean like he looks the part without the glasses with the glasses it just he looks just just like an I don't know an average
person but without the glasses he looks mean and shall I talk away through this one as well because this is the last fight before the Wardley fight I don't know how long I've been talking for probably about an hour hour and a half probably time I took a rest gave my because of my voice I can't give my voice a rest you know can't keep talking all the time let me just have a look what are some people dancing in the rain there that's nice I've been talking for 108 minutes
whatever that is there's a lot of jumps in this as well so I don't know there's a lot one two three four five six seven eight nine ten oh blimey this is going to be an editing nightmare so I'm going to watch this I'm going to go I really don't know how this has come out as an audio but we will find out in the morning when I do the editing so thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve to be happy and be gentle with yourself because you do deserve to feel safe lots of love bye
