Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Yawny, rub hands together. That's my nickname. My name is Jason Newland.

Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. And this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. And today it is Q&A Friday.

Yes. It's a little bit late. A little bit late, but I'll be busy.

Been very busy. So before I go on, I'll just give you a little update on what's been going on this week. Um, wow, I think the last, actually I did go to do a recording on Wednesday, but I just gave up because I didn't, wasn't in the mood.

So I kind of did about 20 minutes and I've just turned it off. I did one on Tuesday. I didn't do one Thursday.

So yeah, done a little bit less than normal this week, but I have been very busy with my website. I've been working on my website, not just the website, um, as far as what it looks like on a laptop or a tablet, but also adapting it for mobile phones to make sure it works correctly. So I've changed a few things.

If you've been on there recently, or, you know, if he was there a couple of weeks ago, if you go back, you'll see it's very different. She's nicer, looks nicer. So I've got the podcasts, which is in the index, and they're all listed, but there's images of the podcast.

You can just click on the podcast and that takes you to the, all the latest recordings. Or if you want to find out where my podcasts are on the various different apps, just click on podcast apps. I've got audible.

I'm boring myself already. That's quick. There's Apple podcasts, audible, Apple, Amazon music, podcast app, Castbox, Deezer, Luminary, podcast Republic, player FM, podcast addict, podcast index, pod chaser, pod friend, pod verse, pod bean, speaker, Spotify, and SoundCloud.

It's basically alphabetical order, really, from top to bottom. Apart from, it's not all actually. It's just the A's at the top and the S's are at the bottom.

But other than that, it's, yeah, it's kind of alphabetical. And again, they're all got images. So before it was text that you clicked on, this is images now.

So if you click on Apple podcast, for example, and then it gives you a list of all the different podcasts, and then you can click on, let's say, for example, let me bore your pain away. And that takes you to let me bore your pain away on Apple podcasts. It's just a different way of doing it.

It might be a useful thing. So if you if you're on Castbox, and you don't know where my Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcast is, you just click on podcast apps, go down, click on Castbox, click on Let Me Bore You To Sleep. And it brings you to the Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcast on Castbox.

So it's, yeah, it's kind of, I think it's easy to use. Other than that, I'm in the middle of redoing the playlists. So at the moment, I've got four, four different podcasts that I've been working on said Let Me Bore You To Sleep.

Okay, there's a few changes on it. Oh, okay. So Let Me Bore You To Sleep, the infrastructure is built for these, but they're not all updated yet.

Let Me Bore You To Sleep, Deep Sleep, Whisper Hypnosis, Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily, and Relaxation with Stress and Panic Attacks. So with these, so let's say for example, you click on playlists, and then you click on Let Me Bore You To Sleep. It gives you six different options.

Without music, with music, five hours without music, five hours with music, 10 hours without music, 10 hours with music. At the moment, I'm working on the ones without music, because I think the first 1000 of the Let Me Bore You To Sleep ones are without music. Although I might remedy that.

So if you click on Let Me Bore You To Sleep, click on that without music. And then you've got all the way up from one to 50. Again, these are images.

So it's not just text anymore. Just makes it a little bit easier visually to, you know, manipulate and to to. I don't know what's another word for that.

Navigate. And it goes down to the last one is 1351 to 1400. Only one, the one to 50 is on there at the moment.

And you click on that, and I'll take you to the podcast. And it's exactly the same as when you go onto the homepage. You can download, you can stream, you can save it for yourself.

It tells you how big the file is tells you how long the recording is. So yeah, and there's all 50 on there. And that's it.

So I'm quite pleased with that. It's taken a lot of hours to put this together. It may not seem like much, but it's taken a long time.

Because I've been to get it so it works fine on the phone for the images and everything to be together and to be the same size. And it's taken a bit of code code work as it were. So I'm going to have a break from the website today.

And do this recording now and I'm probably not going to bother with the website. I probably will actually but I'm probably Yeah, I'm gonna not get the problem is, if I could finish a sentence, that's one of the things I've got problems with. The problem is I struggled to let to stop doing something.

Once I start, especially the metal thing keep banging it on my desk. Once I start doing these things, for example, working on the podcast apps, there's so much to do. There's a lot of it's quite intricate in a sense of, you know, I don't know some of it is just copy paste, but it's remembering where to paste and what to change and changing sizes of images and then pasting in the link to the podcast, you know, and making it all kind of align with each other.

There's quite a lot involved in it. So I'm pretty pleased with how it's working out so far. I've got a few other ideas what I want to do as well.

To make it a little bit easier to navigate around the website. In some ways, you could say I've turned my website into an app. Kind of in a way.

Now, kind of, you know, you've got the homepage was just the website, basically the podcast. But if you click on podcasts, then it gives you all the different podcasts. And you can choose one you want.

So say for example, relax, let's say stop smoking, click on that. Okay, that's not a good example, because that links not done yet. That's not a good example either.

So oh, that's podcast. Yeah, okay. So you can go directly to the podcast.

Blimey. Or if you want to go to the playlists, you know, the all the different types, so again, click on there, Let Me Bore You To Sleep, with music, without music, whatever. So yeah, it seems appy.

If that's such a word. So I'll get on with the recording. And not a lot going on.

I've just been working on this. I've got a letter, a letter. Let me I like to read you out my letters.

Let's have a look. I'll read you my latest letters. What's this one? Your income related employment and support allowance ESA payments will end.

So it end on the first of the fifth 2025 will end. They sent me this on the second of May. I didn't get it till about three days ago.

How it takes so long to get here. I'll never know. I mean, it's coming all the way from Wolverhampton.

So I mean, unless they sent it on the back of a donkey. And we've received your universal credit UC claim. And we sent a plane to drop off planes.

Your final payment of the ESA covers the period first of the fifth to the 14th of the fifth. So I, I honestly I think I've had my last payment. Which means I've got Wow, two weeks, two weeks.

But then I got another letter. This is from the council, the council city council. This letter.

It doesn't have a day six of May. This letter is important. Dear Mr. Newland, this letter is important.

You must read all of it carefully. And you must inform this office immediately. If your circumstances change, go to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

The Department for Work and Pensions had advisors. He is something all right. Okay.

This is the first year on that is because I always look for months just like if there's any kind of financial thing on there. As in with pound signs, because it's just, it's just, it's the first thing I notice, really, of the additional award mentioned above. So the department.

Okay, the Department of for Work and Pensions has advised us that you have started claiming universal credit and that you qualify for an additional two weeks extension of your housing benefit, known as transition to UC housing payment. Of the additional award mentioned above, £168.90 has been recovered against previously notified overpayment. Overpayment.

How? How is it an overpayment? Then it says, if you are worried about paying your rent, bills, or living expenses, we can help. If you are struggling to find your to pay your bills, for any reason, speak to the financial equality and well being teams today. Okay.

So, you know, suddenly you owe this money and then it's been recovered. So I was like, confused about that. But what's going on? So then this is another one another letter.

Dear Mr. Newland, this letter is also important. You must also read all of this carefully. And you must inform the blah, blah, blah, blah.

So you claim for you. The claim for benefit has been looked at because managing managed migration to universal credit successfully and your benefit has been stopped for the first of May 2025. Yeah.

So, pretty much. I think. Oh, no.

I think it's the 8th of June before I get paid. Oh, I'm confused. The housing costs will now be paid within your universal credit award.

Please contact your work coach if you have any changes or the costs are incorrect. If you're blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. As your entitlement has ended any overpayments which were previously overpaid or recovered or blah, blah, via deductions from the housing benefit payment will now end.

As such, if you have any outstanding per over, I was like too much information. And then it says here, you have been overpaid 168 pound 90 housing benefit. Of this overpayment, 168 pound 90 is non-recoverable.

And therefore, only the balance of zero will be recovered. Does anyone understand what that means? Any ideas? Anyone? I really don't. You have been overpaid 168 pound 90 housing benefit.

Of this overpayment, 168 pound 90 is non-recoverable. And therefore, only the balance of zero will be recovered. I get from that that there's nothing to pay.

They've written it off. But have they written off? Because worded very strangely. The reason for the overpayment is managed migration, which has been calculated as follows.

From the 1st of the 5th 2025 to the 12th of the 5th 2025, one week and four days. Old award 107 pound 48. New award zero.

Weekly amount overpaid 107 pound 48. Total amount overpaid 168 pound 90. It doesn't make sense.

I don't understand it. I know the 107 pound, that's the rent for a week. Your repayment will be accepted without prejudice to any further action.

If you are, it doesn't make, the way they've worded it is so, I'm going to say obtuse because I don't know what that means. But I heard someone say it once on a video in about 1982. I think it was a Steve Martin movie.

Oh, so I don't know. Confusing. Very confusing.

Right. dbd dd. They've also they have agreed to pay my rent directly to the housing benefit.

And they've also agreed to pay me every two weeks. From the 8th of I think it's the 8th of June. And they'll let me know on the 4th of June what I'm getting.

So it's gonna be an interesting period the next couple of weeks. I'll find out Wednesday on the 21st with or not. Wow.

That's fine. I'm just gonna go around. I'm gonna have to start collecting the money people owe me and I go around.

You know all that money that I've been lending you over the last 10 years. And you thought that you didn't have to pay it back. You see this baseball bat in my hand.

You do have to pay it back. Okay, right back to seriousness. Any questions for this Friday? So let's have a look.

Oh today Vinnie started barking like proper and it sounded like someone was at my door and I went nothing there. He's barking again. It really sounded like someone was pushing on the door the front door.

So I just went out as I do just just like I wonder what's going on. It's a pigeon. Someone's left the back door open downstairs.

It's come up flying. It's basically bashing into each window trying to get out. Poor little thing.

So I got a hammer. I got my baseball bat. So I just I thought what am I gonna do? So this has happened before.

It's a pigeon. So I didn't have a towel but I did have a like a t-shirt. So I've got a t-shirt.

Not the one I was wearing. That's a different t-shirt. And I was trying to chuck it over the pigeon.

It wasn't like a big pigeon. More like a dove-sized pigeon. In fact it might be a dove.

And I was trying to chuck it over it but it wasn't going over. The pigeon was just moving its head and just knocking it off and just looking at me. And then when I went down it flew off again and smashed against the window.

In the end it just it let me pick it up and actually wrapped his or her. I think it's a girl actually. Wrapped her hands, her fingers around my fingers.

And I was stroking her and just carrying it. Carried it downstairs. And for a little while she was just standing on my hand.

Just looking around. And I was just talking to her. And then I started telling her a story.

I thought I'd tell her about the chip shop I used to work in and she was off. But yeah. Just went into a tree.

I think it's probably a relative of Horace. Maybe his girlfriend. I'm gonna say probably his daughter to be fair.

Because she's quite young. He's been around for 10 years since I moved in. Right so other than that anything else that's happened? Can't think of anything even mildly interesting.

Well there's never going to be anything interesting but it's not a lot going on. A neighbour just phoned me up while I was doing this recording asking me if I had any antidepressants. These like solitoprim or whatever they are.

And I said no. Don't have that medication. I said I've got a few spare of my own but you won't want to take my medication.

It's a different medication. And it's you know shouldn't mix that stuff. Plus it takes quite a few weeks to kick in.

The older fluoxetine. So Maria first question. Hi Jason.

How long ago did you last visit Thailand? How long did you stay and did you enjoy the food there? I don't think I ate any of the food there to be honest. I just ate normal food. Human food.

I didn't. I mean for one I was not going to eat the street food. And it smelled amazing but I was not going to eat the street food.

I wouldn't eat street food in this country. So I'm definitely not going to eat street food abroad. When I went it was kind of during the Covid.

Between the Covid. Oh god you said the word. Sorry.

That period like 2021. I think it was. So they or even though we were pretty much at.

We weren't in lockdown here. They were in lockdown there. Not to the point of banning anyone visiting.

But you had to wear masks in every shop. Had to. I mean people were wearing masks in the street.

It was you know it was pretty full on. Had to have your blood your temperature done before entering any places. Any establishments had to do that.

And there's hand wash everywhere. So it was it was very it was yeah it was a bit of a weird time. And a lot of the restaurants were closed.

A lot of everything was closed when I went there actually. So I stayed in a like a hotel place. Luckily when I stayed I stayed in this place which was a sports bar.

Loads of TVs all around the place. Including two outside. I watched the boxing.

That was cool. And they had food there. So I ate every day there.

And it was really burgers and stuff like that to be honest with you. You know I wasn't very I wasn't very creative with my food choices. But they were catering for Westerners.

Well Westerners and Australians. Mainly Australians. It was an Australian bar run by Australian people.

And other than me I think everyone in all the customers were Australian. That were like staying living there and would visit as well. So it's a very I mean there was a few people that weren't Australian.

All the staff other than the owners. The staff weren't Australian. But they wouldn't be allowed to work there.

In Thailand you have to be Thai to work in most jobs actually. Most. I've done a little bit of research into that and you can if you've got a share in a place you can work.

But you can't take a Thai job. So technically if you've got 40 you know 49% share in a restaurant you work in that restaurant. You're not you're not taking someone else's job because it's your business isn't it.

Or it's 50% or 49% your business. So that's when I visited. It was quite a long time ago.

And it wasn't long. I had I had a chest infection. So it was just I can't remember.

It was just over two weeks. Two and a bit weeks. And I came back.

I was I was there for two days I think. It's getting vague. To be honest it was a bit of a non-event really.

It wasn't it wasn't really. What I didn't realise is. That's it Vinnie.

Can you make it more nice please. Brilliant. Thanks.

I think that's weird right. He has absolutely destroyed this bag which had his treat in. Chewy chicken twists.

Right. He's destroyed it. It's empty and he's destroyed it.

I gave him that bag when it had one left in it. And he just looked at it for about an hour and a half. So he'll destroy it and rip it open when there's nothing in it.

But when there's something in it he won't even attempt to open it. What's weird isn't it. That's strange behaviour.

Yeah it wasn't it wasn't the right time. It wasn't really the right time for me to go really. I just I just got a rebate.

A benefit rebate actually from from previous years. Something that I should have got paid and I wasn't. And I decided just to.

I had to get away from there. Things were just difficult living there for you know. I mean I basically turned into a carer in some ways.

My friend always said to me I'm his carer and I said no I'm not your carer. But it did. I think emotionally I was.

You know I just constantly worried about him just for years. For years and years. So I needed to get away and you know I gave him a little bit of money as well when I got that money.

Paid off my debts and went away. I did the old gave a load of food out to people that were hungry. So that was that was the highlight for me.

That was you could say almost the highlight of my life is handing out hundreds of like meals and whatever it was. I can't remember how many it was but I did it two days in a row and it was kind of the best thing I've ever done or feeling wise. It just felt amazing.

So it was worth it for that. And I know I could have. I could have done the same thing here.

It's you know I don't know just some reason I wanted to go to a Buddhist country. Wanted to see how what Buddhist people like. People that were born into Buddhism.

Not just like in this country. You know it's something that there are people born into it in this country. But there if they're Westerners then the people their parents probably weren't born into it and they they've just raised their kids in that kind of way.

But to be to live in a country where everybody going back many many many many years you know. All born as Buddhists. All raised as Buddhists.

I just found that an interesting thing to be around and I could see the difference. I could see the difference in in the mentality. They might not have been anything to do with the religion but and most of them didn't practice the religion anyway.

But you know they it was the foundation of their belief system was a foundation of their of their culture. Which I just found it interesting. So enjoyed the food.

Probably the best food I had when I was there was apple pie and ice cream. Yeah that was nice. So the cook in that bar.

It was a bar but it was also like hotel as well. The sports bar. The cook in there.

I got really well with her and she would she made sure she got lots of pies in for me so I could have an apple pie and ice cream after my meals. And I had a cooked breakfast every morning. And also so basically I'd eat twice a day there.

So I'd eat breakfast. Cook breakfast. Then I'd have when I was out I'd probably see if I could get something maybe a McDonald's or I'm trying to think just have a look around see if there's other places.

Some places I went. I went in one place which was it was terrible. It was really bad.

It was I think it's called the Nags Head. And apparently it used to be owned by Kevin Keegan. That's what they said because pictures of him on the wall.

That was Kevin Keegan was like a superstar footballer in the early 80s in the UK. Well worldwide as well I think. And he had curly hair.

I say it's not relevant but it was because it was the fashion back then. The amount of people the amount of boys that were getting their hair curled. Permed to look like Kevin Keegan because he was a superstar footballer.

So I went in there and I think that it was a cooked breakfast and I think it was some beans, an egg which I'm not sure what kind of egg it was. Some bacon that did not look like bacon and some sausages the type that I give Vinnie. Like they're not sausages they're those bendy rubbery ones.

I just I mean I'm pretty sure they just didn't have any food in. Possibly was the only customer they'd had for a while. So I just I said thanks.

And I yeah left. Well I ate it first but I ate some of it. Yeah it wasn't wasn't great.

I did go to a Thai restaurant. I had a pizza. So yeah I don't think I had even one bit of Thai food the whole time I was there.

Yeah I have had Thai food. I've had it in this country but I didn't have anyone kind of. Because you know back when I was in London I'd go on dates and some of the people that I'd go on dates with they'd be much more open culturally to new things.

Because you can pretty much eat any food from anywhere in the world in London. Like any type of food. So you know I've been in Vietnamese, I've been in Thai, I've been in Spanish, Italian, French, whatever.

Lots of different places. And there's always I always felt that pressure to kind of be involved you know. To show that I'm open-minded and I'd order something without knowing what it is sometimes.

I deeply regret it. And as I got older I just thought you know what no. If I go into a Chinese restaurant I probably am going to order an omelette and chips.

Or an omelette and fried rice. Egg fried rice. You know I know what I like and that's what I like.

I like omelettes. And yeah I'm sure that sure the Thai food's amazing. I mean people I mean some people go to Thailand for the Thai food.

It's the thing they look forward to most because I guess it's the most authentic Thai food you're going to get. It's like the most authentic any food you're going to get is in the country of origin I imagine. I'm sure if you want the best burger then you have to go to where the first I don't even know America.

Is that where the burgers come from? Or if you want the first mushy pea you want the best mushy peas you've got to go up north. Or if you want the the best fried mars bar you gotta go up north. Or if you want the best fish and chips probably gotta go up north.

Or maybe Scotland or I don't know. But UK I imagine for fish and chips probably the best fish and chips you'll get in the world would probably be in this country. I might be wrong it's just because it's our heritage.

It's our you know goes back centuries. I don't know if that's true or not. Right um Kathleen asks me I've got a lot of questions to get through just to let you know that there's loads.

I'm kind of surprised at how is there one two three four five six seven eight nine. There's nine but there's 13 comments. So I'm not quite sure.

Okay one's got one reply and one's got three replies. So there's nine questions. The next one is from Kathleen.

A couple of questions JJ. I love Vinnie's floppy ear. Is he able to straighten it or is it always floppy? He can.

He can straighten it. Sometimes if he's I'm trying to think I'm just doing the I'm straightening my hands to show you the ears not being floppy but you can't see that can you. When does the sound got his attention? His ears do stick up both of them.

But I saw a picture of his mummy and his mummy also had a floppy ear. Let's have a look. I've got it on here.

I think I've got it on here unless I haven't. Sometimes if I've got any pictures of Vinnie. Right okay that's I've got a picture of Vinnie when he was a baby on here.

I'm pretty sure there's a picture of him with his mummy. But it's you know birth mummy. Oh so cute when he was a baby.

I do that's something that I kind of wish that I'd. Oh he's a little cute. He's in a cage.

Never liked the idea of putting dogs in cages. Never been something that I've I don't know. There's something about being in a cage I guess.

But he's I mean it can be for their own safety anyway kind of. But he's in this cage which is I guess was there prepared for multiple puppies and he was the only puppy. And he's laying on his back he's got his little hands in the air and he's tiny you know absolutely tiny.

And doesn't I don't have a date on this. I got a date when it was sent 14th of January 2023. January 2023.

Really? No 2000 January. No it wouldn't have sent it to me 2023. That's her date isn't it.

What's my date? It wasn't January 2023. I didn't even know her until January 2023. I didn't get him until.

I'm losing track of time. 2023. But I thought I got him November 2023.

But I didn't did I? I got him I got him in 2022. November 2022. 2022.

Stop it mate. Don't be barking. 2022.

2022. So November 2022. November 2023.

November 2024. Not it was December wasn't it. 2023.

24. Two years and like five months four months five months. So yeah.

So I got him in December 2023. And 2022. So she must have sent me those pictures yeah in the January.

Okay. Oh that just threw me off for a second then. There's a picture of him with his mummy somewhere.

I just can't find it. Unless it's on my laptop which it could be. Let's have a look to look.

Let's have a look on my laptop. Laptop. Oh Vinnie's found another fly.

Vinnie. Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie. Oh I don't know where.

Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie. Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie. Vinnie's sunbathing.

Vinnie. My new setup with Vinnie. Vinnie at mummies nope that was that is baby Vinnie no I can't find it it's here somewhere it's here somewhere I've got a picture of Logie.

Logie and Vinnie last day together oh got a little image Logie don't care he's just there chilled out Vinnie's looking at me he's looking at his watch how much longer we got before we get rid of him I said you're missing when he's when he's moved out you're missing I won't I want my house back I want my bed back I said it's my bed Vinnie it's not your bed it's my bed okay I want our bed back he's got a proper attitude on him so yes he's always had the

floppy ear but his mummy his biological mum had the floppy ear as well don't know about his dad oh itchy bum the both his parents had were red but he was the only one that was red all over I mean he's got a little bit of white on his belly and little bit on his neck but he's pretty much and it's on his he's got a little couple of little socks little white socks on other than that and gloves but he's pretty much red all over yeah he knows I'm talking

about him probably just keep saying his name Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie will you be getting a new bathroom like your neighbors Cheers Kathleen it looks like no so my neighbors downstairs to be fair there was a there was a reason why she got a new bathroom because she needed it wasn't because she needed a new bathroom as in the old one was too old it was it was I don't know how to what how to word it but it was something that was required if you know I mean so it wasn't

something that they just got around to doing because it was time it was needed to be done and my neighbor downstairs to get a kitchen and that was basically due to time it was time to redo them my neighbor opposite has had his kitchen done he's having his bathroom done and he's having his windows done and when they came round to he knew he's known about the windows for a few months he's just waiting to sort of find out when they're going to come and do them but he didn't know

about the bathroom until the other day when they came to measure up so but he's he's lived there for 30 odd years he's never had anything new at all the whole time he's been there so you know it's I really don't know I don't doesn't I asked the council I saw the council lady the lady from the council on Wednesday they came round to check the bathroom downstairs to make sure it was all all okay and sign it off and I had a little word with her with the lady I

said when am I gonna have one I cut a few onions first I went down there and just so I can cry and seem upset here's a little clue though if you're gonna do that before going up to someone and you know cut up onions in order to cry to in order to you know get the older emotions going with the other person if you're shake their hand put the onions down first that's all I'm gonna say and Tammy asked can hypnosis be an effective tool in reshaping our subconscious patterns

don't I next I don't know that's that's a that's a hard question and I'll tell you what I tell you the biggest thing just based on my studies the biggest thing that affects us let's say unconscious I call it unconscious but subconscious unconscious patterning is our conscious mind what we do what we listen to what we think our experiences stuff like that is what shapes us reshaping doing something different thinking differently per on purpose a purposefully so for example if someone was constantly thinking about their illness stuff thinking about something

different because we get what we think about you know we would become what we think about because we're basically it's kind of weird I've seen all these different angles all these different things and it all kind of points to the same thing to the same conclusion and that is that our thoughts so powerful on ourselves it's almost like what we consciously think what you purposefully think not what you think automatically what you purposely think affects your brain affects your body affects your let's say unconscious mind affects those automatic thinking processes

now none of that might have made any sense not even to me but I kind of I'm starting to look at hypnosis in a different way to how I used to look at it and belief expectations is almost is so important just generally what we expect to happen has a huge effect on what does happen how we expect to feel you know if someone that it's just proven so many times in experiments it's just like when I was 17 mentioned this a few weeks ago went to a party it was

held at a chip shop but we went to my boss's house and we were drinking they gave me they all were in it in on it they gave me non-alcoholic lager so every time I went to get a can said no no I'll get it for you I thought it would just be a nice but they were all in on it and they were laughing when I was talking so I thought I was also being funny so you know and I got drunk and there was no different but not being

drunk before there was no difference there really wasn't any difference between drinking alcohol and not drinking alcohol because I thought I was drinking alcohol and all those chemicals in my brain kick kicked off they just did their thing and I was expecting to feel a certain way and I felt that way now the good chance is if they hadn't told me I'm Mel I may well have gone home I may well have been ill I may well have woken up with a with a hangover that's how powerful belief is when

you believe that something's you know you believe that non-alcoholic lager is alcoholic lager you know it's just I mean that was that was quite a good thing to happen in one way it was horrible horribly embarrassing and quite I think it's a very cruel thing to do actually to be honest but hey but it was a learning experience and when you think that was 40 years ago 38 years ago I mean it's kind of crazy in it 38 years on all different things I've learned since then comes back to that

is belief and with all the religious stuff that I've kind of studied and I've been interested in religion different religions since I was a kid I don't know why just it wasn't so much interested in the specifics of the religion or the rules I was fascinated by why people did it I was fascinated and I had but still I'm really I understand it a little bit more now than I used to I think but just fascinated how why well I kind of understand why people need religion but I can see

there's like two sides to it because I've seen the damage it like from a I suppose say damage but how someone can turn it to be in a negative so I knew someone that was they lost someone close to them that person's gone to heaven good good thing you know that's a kind of a positive way to deal with it they've gone to heaven they're happy now they're now they're not suffering anymore that kind of I know it's cliche stuff but it was it's gotta be helpful it can't not be

really can it's like so okay I'm gonna see them again soon that's nice so it's not the last time you ever see them so there's that belief it can be comforting but then that belief turned for this one person I'm thinking about turned into I want to be with them now and it's like no and they tried to be with them now as it were this is a few years ago and I well it's really hard what do you do with that it's like okay well if you didn't believe in

that belief system that religious belief system then you wouldn't be doing that because you wouldn't be trying to be with them if you didn't believe you could be with them you perhaps just have to find a way to move on with your life so yeah it's it's a complicated thing but I've just seen some of the things that people do a lot of it's been on the news to be fair but based on belief based on their expectations of what's going to happen to them or if they're be rewarded even

if it's doing a non good thing I'm keeping this very vague so it's really powerful if you take anyone you having the chance to raise a child is a chance to raise your own little angel or your own little monster or your own little confused creature that doesn't know what I mean I just don't think individual human beings necessarily always I know I wouldn't I wouldn't have the capacity to raise a child in a way that they needed to be raised I don't think I mean some people do have that

some people like me probably don't I don't think I'm patient enough but it's really weird to just think how much you can forge a child's brain and their mind by the stuff you say by what they see you do what they hear you say the behavior your belief structure what you tell them things like as fact when it's just an opinion and they believe it and they will literally do anything to back up because you said it so therefore it's true and I've seen that in action and I had a

friend that and I told his mom this I said you know what my friend who passed away at his funeral I told his mom do you realize that he believed every single thing you said to him and she laughed and I said it's serious if you came in here now and told everyone okay if you okay not now but if you if you told him on a Tuesday that was a Thursday he would stick to that he says Thursday my mom said it's a Thursday so it's a Thursday even if

everyone's walking around with t-shirts on saying it's Tuesday and the TV comes on saying we're celebrating Tuesday day today he would just completely ignore that factual information because his mom said it was Thursday and he wouldn't back down not for anything I've never had that connection with anyone to to believe what they say so I've I've heard so much BS ever since I was born so much just silly stuff that I realized that nobody is gonna be telling the truth the whole time because a lot of it is just made

up a lot of it is it might be truthful to them but it might be someone else's lie and opinions and all that stuff so I think I've benefited in a way from not being in that sort of stuck structure of I believe this and I'm never gonna change how I think I believe this I kind of don't have that I think life would be a lot easier if I did to be fair I said to be fair three times now to be honest I don't like to be honest I

know I've kind of moved away probably from what you're asking so what was my favorite ice cream okay it is I like everything we do this is my little belief everything we do affects us whether it's our belief system whether it's and our beliefs I mean some people's it's hard for their belief system to change but I've seen my belief systems change in like an instant one example is I have a real issue with motorbikes just as this is the sound of them that's all it is I don't like loud

sounds never have done probably never will do maybe I've got a theory what that is but it's it's it's just part of my brain I can't do with loud really loud sounds I don't even have loud music on you know I have it on loud enough so I can hear what I'm listening to I don't even like to put it on louder if I have to cover up noise in the garden because too loud for me then so I've got an issue if I see a motorbike revving I go into

that little angry mode my little angry Smurf pops up it's like how could you be so inconsiderate to me even when they don't even know I exist you know not the Smurf I'm talking about the person on the bike so I'm thinking yeah and I'm walking past I'm just like and I'm here really coming from that direction look over but puts his visor up and it's someone that I see regularly who walks his dog instantly that belief okay not the whole belief about bikes and noise hasn't changed because still have

an issue with noise but the emotions connected to motorbikes seem to have eased definitely eased in that moment anyway which showed that the if it can bend if a belief system can bend quite easily and be molded and sort of curved around quite easily be manipulated and maneuvered I'm trying to think of clever words then it's not really it's yeah if it can be if it's not that tightly structured so they can be moved and changed so easily since Vinnie's flappy ears then it's not very strong is it that belief

is not a very strong belief if it can almost transform instantly it was never a strong belief there was never a really however strong the emotions were at times wasn't connected to a particularly strong foundation so yeah I probably can't I can't answer your question in a way that I may maybe you'd like to hear me answer it again I can only assume on that one I don't know but I can't answer it in a way that you would get in a textbook or in a way that makes any cognitive

sense probably I'm just trying to explain from my perspective kind of how I map it out in front of me going to like rituals you got rituals so you've got things like I know we go you go go back okay take a breath now go from a religious point of view this country things like Christianity aren't from this country you know they're not from Africa they're not from America Christianity Islam Hinduism Buddhism none of these religions are from the countries you know probably most of the people listening so if you

go back to your original country belief systems if you're in Australia or if you're in Canada if you're in America if you're in a year in England in Scotland in Wales it's different it's a completely different belief structure that we came from originally although I'm 48% Irish I don't know if I've mentioned that so my ancestors my ancestors were pretty much Irish so that would be Celtic and there was a lot of ritual and it goes back to almost worshipping the Sun and when the wind and the trees and I

don't know I'll make part of that up but there's that belief system you know people I guess like carrying a rabbit's foot or believe in something is good luck because it is for them no matter how ridiculous it seems to everyone else I've seen people that are superstitious and I think nearly everyone I've seen that's superstitious in a working environment are successful I've seen that a few times and they've been successful they're actually good and you mess with their superstitious thing whether it's they might have a picture of their daughter

on the thing so if you draw a moustache on their daughter photograph messes their day up whether they're superstitious or not I they have as a I guess kind of like a talisman or whatever so you know it's it's belief and I think next to that belief expectations when you believe something then you expect something I think you kind of need both you got both together it makes a very strong rock super strong so for example there was a time when I was confident going out confident that I would be

able to talk confidently to ladies yes is 20 25 years ago so it's a while back but I felt confident and I had that belief but it wasn't just it was belief so the expectations were based on my belief but also that belief was based on previous experience so all the previous experience and all the new experience was kind of backing up that belief confirming it new evidence more evidence to confirm it but I was ignoring the evidence that was confirming otherwise because that's what I focused on so I was

you know I wasn't all I was doing I'm saying I've just had a period when I was fairly confident didn't last long three hours yeah so I don't know I probably haven't answered your question our subconscious patterns we can change what we think about by just thinking on purpose sometimes it is that instead of just allowing I mean it's something to be said for allowing thoughts to come and go and that's a kind of meditation in itself but when you're doing that you're not holding on to them you're not following

the thoughts so in a meditation if for example you just sit and just breathe always made me laugh every time the meditation leader would say don't forget to breathe I've never once forgotten to breathe and it's like you know swimming people you're going swimming don't forget to swim really don't forget to keep above the water okay don't forget to eat I've never forgotten to eat anyway so on a recent show so I did this I could go on and on about that all day long it probably wouldn't make any more

sense possibly but there's something to be said for just sitting down allowing your thoughts to just come but don't follow the thoughts you will follow them but once you're in once you notice you're kind of focusing on something let it go and then just just allow the thoughts to come and go and then when you notice yourself focusing on something let it go again and it's kind of a good way to this is a similar thing if you want to find out if you're going to buy take over a restaurant

or let's say it's a fast-food place or a chip shop yeah it's a chip shop and you want to find out the kind of customers you're going to get you want to find out what it's going to be like what kind of foot traffic you're going to get then you sit in the window and look out you sit in there and watch and the longer you sit the more of an idea you're going to get of what's going on and you start seeing patterns oh that blokes coming he comes in

every Tuesday and every Thursday oh he's always got yoga on his head you know just things like that and it can be it'd be quite interesting to see the to see to notice what you're thinking without adding anything without getting into an dialogue or being imaginative which can also be fun I suppose I don't know if I've answered that Jonathan on a recent show you mentioned a disability of yours but didn't refer to what it was and also implied that you may be don't drive but curious about both of these

well oh that's the thing with these recordings I've mentioned it a few times but I know that sometimes if if people fall asleep or whatever they just you're not gonna hear what I've talked about but I don't don't know if I'll mention it too much but yeah I have a got bipolar affective disorder and which is classed as a disability with me and EUPD so emotionally unstable personality disorder so they're the two things it's not mental mental stuff that's my disability I've got any physical disabilities but I do have a

disability bus pass I do come like an old pensioner now and I do not allowed to drive because of the medication I'm on because it causes drowsiness and the DW what is it called the DLP peel deal whatever DWL the driving people driving I forget a name the company the driving place yeah they they didn't ban me like in a way of like banning me for drink driving or whatever or speeding they just banned me from driving I said I'm not allowed to drive this was quite a few years ago

however I don't drive I can't drive so it's one of those weird things and the when I first got my bus pass I had to go to the driving place and get proof about me not being able to drive that's the only reason they would give me a bus pass so I just went it's got a letter from the doctor just to tell him what I was my situation and they banned me I was like wow but yeah I don't know quite it causes drowsiness and medication so I think it's

probably more to do with that than my my road rage potential I don't know yeah I don't know what kind of driver I would be but yeah I don't drive never driven I've had two sets of driving lessons one in London and one in Ipswich the period in London 1991 what's the point I was walking faster than the traffic was driving I didn't really see the bigger picture really like of driving outside of London but inside of London it didn't seem any point it's not everything was moving so slowly and

you got cars you have to you can't even drive you can't you've got stopped by every two seconds to let cars through because people are parked both sides of the road because you're not allowed to park on the pavement in London which is I'm glad I was one of my big pet peeves people parking on the pavement I don't know what it is we've got someone locally it's an ambulance they park on the pavement anyway yeah I just got my little pet peeve people parking on the pavement they don't you

know how to do that in London you're not allowed to do anywhere in this country but it's not enforced but in London it's enforced so you literally got to stop and if there's another car coming you got to let them through or they let you through and yeah so I just didn't see the point in driving plus I was working whenever I had the money to pay for driving lessons I was working too many hours to have any time to take driving lessons so and that's that Joanne not a question

but if you are thinking about selling merch I would definitely wear a t-shirt that said I sleep with Jason every night boy Tammy says that's sure I definitely could not wear to work and I'm thinking why and then tell me put someone by the same name in my office so I don't want to give them ideas yeah that could get awkward and by the way I shouldn't be reading about what other people have written because you need to join the boring group Jason Newland's boring group if you want to see

what people have written you need to join man so the next one oh yeah I've got answer that question am I sorry um I was thinking about that I mean you know merch merchandise isn't going to happen anywhere anytime soon maybe in the future and unless you want to just make some yourself that'd be cool maybe put my website at the bottom my website address just otherwise they won't know who you're talking about man but yeah I used to have a t-shirt with Let Me Bore You To Sleep on it

and my website address people do didn't actually look they used to look at it it's quite a bright picture an image and I'm not sure if I had Andre on there I've had a picture of Andre on there as well see that's the weird thing I don't think about the future like that's the kind of thing I should have gone and just kept one isn't it because I've got it printed for me I should have kept and one and just kept it somewhere safe as as a kind of keepsake I

had a t-shirt with chronic pain relief on it the website had another one with free pain relief back in 2006 t-shirt I remember collecting that and again I just wore it until it wore out I'll tell you what I had I had a t-shirt in 1991 and it was a picture of me it was in the West End and there was this bloke taking photographs and I mentioned a lot of people would take a photograph of their loved one maybe of their kids and then having it printed on a t-shirt

for them to wear but I had a picture of me and I put it onto a t-shirt and I wore that t-shirt myself no one ever mentioned it no one ever said anything maybe it was a baseball bat Sean this is a question Sean asks me how are you able to record dates so accurately I have often been drifting off and you'll be talking about something you've seen or that happened to you in the past and you seem to be very accurately recall the specific year it happened it's quite impressive

thank you very much this question finally being asked after you list the lion documentary release years in the Disney trivia episode you're able to do it with your stories so start this question again because I've just been rudely interrupted by three different dogs someone downstairs shouting as well now brilliant right here we go Sean says how are you able to record dates so accurately I've often been drifting off and you'll be talking about something you've seen or that happened to you in the past and you seem to be very accurately

recording the specific year it happened it's quite impressive I agree thank you very much and this question finally being asked after you list the lion documentary release years in the trip Disney trivia episode you're also able to do it with your stories too in X year this happened etc I'm always amazed by your memory well thank you well I mean to be fair sometimes I do have the laptop in front of me so if I'm looking up stuff so I don't always remember every single year but when it's when it's

to do with my life not to do my life I mean technically Madonna releasing the like a prayer album in 1989 wasn't to do with my life but it was it signified a particular time remember listening to it in France in the France ferry port where it might be Dover he would Dover or France but I think it was France and it was which would be Calais I suppose wouldn't it and the video the like a prayer video was on but okay there's a few ways I do it I don't

do it on purpose and I had a friend that used to keep these to mock me for it when I'd sort of say the year or sometimes the month as well and they'd pick me up on it to the point where I felt a little bit self-conscious and I don't like that I don't think anyone likes feeling self-conscious today so I kind of felt oh and like I'd stop doing it this is with someone like in person you know and it's like start laughing every time I mentioned a year I

don't know why I do it I think it's just I don't know how I do it rather I think I'd the reason I do it is to I like to treat try and be a little bit factual but also it's just me kind of talking out loud the process the brain process that's going on I've got my life broken into different parts in my memory and there's a lot of things I don't remember I mean I generally don't remember much about Thailand I don't remember much about the last few years

last couple of years and or the last week or so there's and that's partly because nothing's going on because even though I've generally had a quite a boring life but at the same time it wasn't boring if you know I mean it was it's constantly on the move constantly moving from place to place even if it was in the same part of town or the same part of the country I'd you know I'd be moving every couple of years every year sometimes twice three times a year and I'd be having

different jobs and I'd be having different girlfriends and I'd be lots of different things happening and I've got those things kind of broken up so I could list yeah I could go by jobs or I could go by where I've lived I can pretty much I can't remember the addresses but I can pretty much remember all the moves and a lot of them by date not date date but by year and sometimes even by roughly what part of the year it was and then there's jobs so you know I started

working 1986 in a chip shop so that's kind of the start but if we go all the way back to the very start of working and I had a paper round and I had a I worked in a bakehouse which was a restaurant I worked in the bakery of the restaurant at the weekend Saturday and Sunday I think it was it was either five o'clock on a Saturday or five o'clock on a Sunday and six o'clock the other day I forget which was which and I think it might have been

six o'clock Friday six o'clock Saturday five o'clock Sunday because maybe Sunday was a busier day because they'd got a lot of coaches and stuff come to you know they would come to visit they wouldn't drive into the actual restaurant they'd park and let all the people off you know how coaches work so I remember that but then when I've got like memories connected to each job so I remember some of the things I did if I if I if I zoom in on a job and maybe it's because I've been

I've focused on myself pretty much the whole time it means some would say it's some would argue it's just me being selfish or me put myself first or whatever but in some ways I kind of had to there hasn't been a safety net really so I've kind of not that probably many people have a safety net but I didn't have I kind of I never really knew what was going to happen next or where I was going to end up next where I was going to work next where I was

going to live next you know it was there's always that kind of quite uncertainty in my life instability definitely in I was unstable and in lots of different ways I'm not not being a victim I'm just saying that's just how it was and I didn't seem to know how to get out of that it's almost that that was inbuilt I guess a lot of that would have been because of when I was a little very little we moved around a lot I had stability at the age of seven to the

age of 15 I mean we still moved so there's a one two three three times four times so I still moved four times in those years but there was a period between 9 and 15 the six years where I stayed in the same place and until I moved here that was the longest time I ever lived anywhere six years I've lived in places of four years three years two years a year a few months and so yeah I've got sometimes when I was younger and maybe I was my brain was

a little bit too active to fall asleep I would recall all the different places I lived by year so I mean that's possibly why I remember I'd recall all the different places in order that I worked and that used to send me to sleep sometimes so and I do this in my 20s and 30s I don't know how many times I moved around when I was very young a lot is going to be the answer to that but I don't know how many so there's no stability really like proper stability

until I was seven and then the stability was there because even though we moved a couple of times it was all of us together so it was it wasn't unstable from that perspective yeah I think the only stable thing I had up to the age of 14 whatever was my older brother the one just a bit older than me because I was with him the whole time we was in foster care together for a year and a half or whatever when I was six months old till about two so we

lived together before that then we lived together just you know my older brother would stay with my nan and granddad and then we moved away we got took away to Newcastle then we lived in a couple of children's homes and then we came back and ended up living with my dad and so he was the only real consistent other than my older brother who became consistent in my life from the age of I was there for the first six months but I didn't know anyone did I at that point from

there I'm sure there was a bond six my six months I probably would have bonded with him as in emotionally known who he was because I see him every day I suppose but from the age of two onwards so for five years of an age of 2 to 15 so it's that 13 years so 13 years and 15 years so 13 years of my oldest brother 15 years my younger brother but my other older brother but not the oldest other than my dad and my nan they were the only two

people but this different because I lived with them I live with my dad for 7 to 15 and I did live with him a few times after that for a short period I never lived with my nan I just stay over sometimes but never lived with her but I'd see her regularly so I just I remember yeah I just got these little memories sometimes I do get muddled up I do think oh wait a minute that's that what that was a different year I'm like thinking about something that happened over

Christmas and I'm thinking that wasn't me that's someone else's memory I don't remember doing that I've never flown a plane weird so there's all sorts of jobs looking at that looking at the music so there's connection with the music and the years I don't have that anymore because I'm I have lost track of the music today I have I feel a little bit sad about that but you know I just there's so many albums that I do listen to so many songs from the past you know my my favorite song

collection there's so many that would take I reckon if I added continuously added songs I really like I could sit for possibly 24 hours if not more listening to different songs all of them that I love possibly I don't know I'm kind of making it up but during that period there was a lot of music connected so to the times so I remember when I was in a chip shop I used to go in in the afternoon going a bit early because I used to enjoy being in there on my

own and I'll be preparing the kitchen maybe doing so this is an early afternoon so going a little bit early afternoon and just take my time and I don't know what it was I was doing but I was probably just getting getting the fryers on you know setting up for the evening the evening shift and I'd listen to I had a tape recorder downstairs and I had two tapes and they were both the first two albums from Madonna I loved Papa don't preach true blue so the album true blue and

my two favorite albums versus true blue and like a prayer they're my two favorite Madonna albums but during that period I quite like the first two albums that she did as well holiday you can do so like that one subject like dancing a little bit on me own and so I remember that and there's other things like when I first moved above the chip shop I was playing George Michael's first album faith was album faith I think it was a minute so I was playing that album over and over again

in my kitchen and just little bits little bits and bobs connected to music the I'm trying to give an example now I can't think of any examples yeah but there's there are examples it is it's not necessarily gonna pop up when I want it to but if I was for example I don't know if I if he's like let's focus on the year 2005 straightaway Michael Jackson's album history came out so I would talk about that was it 2005 or 2004 I think it was 2005 I was definitely listening to

it in 2005 anyway and then we could say well like that was the year yeah it's 2005 and then I could say okay well I had I had two girlfriends that year I also went and worked at Butlin's and just going back through that year I can remember certain things that happened I know remember where I was living because I was living in one place then I went to Butlin's then I come back and I was homeless didn't have anywhere to stay but that was pretty much the beginning of 2006

so and the only reason I went to Butlin's is because we were being evicted so I was evicted from the house it was a council house that my friend was living in or council flat wherever it was and it was being evicted the council I can't remember he had a flat and a house anyway I had to get out of there so I went and moved I just went to the job center I like what am I gonna do because I had no job I'm what am I gonna do it

was like literally he told me I think he gave me about a week's notice or five days so we move yeah you have to be out in five days he knew about it he'd had the eviction notice for about a month so so I went and I managed to I went to a job center and there's big signs do you want to work at Butlin's I laughed but yeah sure and then I thought I looked around there's no other jobs so I just well there's other jobs but nothing that offered

accommodation because that was the problem it's like I need somewhere to live and I said to I said well what's going on with this Butlin's thing they said well it's a holiday camp I said no I know what it is they said you know the music they have families go and have a holiday there I said look I'm not asking about the actual camp so what is it you're what is it you're offering they said we offer entertainment variety there's pubs there's restaurants there's a swimming pool it's like no it's

like he's trying to sell me a tickets to go go and visit but no no wait a minute what what are you here for he said I'm getting paid I work for Butlin's I said okay how can I structure this question in a way that you're going to understand it I said what what's the big signs for he said that's so that people know that we're here the a bit further away he didn't say that I just funny that why the big signs there's for people are further away can see

it and he said there's jobs do you want a job do you want a job I said I don't know I mean problem I've got is I've got nowhere to live in five days and if I do get a job I have to work for a month before I get any money he said oh but this is this is a good situation I said why he said you don't have to sign off because I was temporarily unemployed then he said you don't have to sign off to do this this is

part of the unemployment program I said really he said yeah so you go to Butlin's in Bognor Regis you can work you still get your unemployment you get an extra 20 quid on top you get fed as a restaurant which you get fed or canteen get fed three times a day you get a big discount on drinks and you don't have to pay for any accommodation with you get accommodation have to share a bed or a bedroom rather sorry with someone else so there's two people in a not very particularly

big room in fact probably about the size of this room maybe a little bit smaller than this room actually and I said I didn't have a lot of options at that point so yeah okay so I had to fill a form in I had to do a questionnaire like to test my intelligence and I remember when I handed it in and fireworks went off I said wow you're the most intelligent person we've ever seen ever how come you're not teaching in a university and that didn't happen so I I just

thought well what kind of work can you do I said what's available and it kind of broke down what I should what I would have done if I had looked at longer further picture the bigger picture the more advanced picture the future I would have chosen something that I wouldn't have disliked doing but I had experience working in a bar and they saw it as soon as they saw that I had to fill my CV and in that they said okay well you can work in a bar then I didn't

realize it was going to be the world's busiest bar and I've never I don't think I could ever work anywhere with a bar that busy I've been in bars these these were like thousands of people you know in this massive massive hall venue there was like three bars and the show is a show on and there's hundreds of tables and there's people families and literally it was non-stop from the beginning the evening to the end there was never the only breaks we got is when we were allowed to have a

break there was no standing around no waiting it was constant I mean the amount of money they were taking would have been huge so I I said okay I really I probably should have been better off going and doing cleaning becoming like cleaning the chalets but had a little no I had I wait a minute this is 2005 yes I had I'd had a little test of doing that in 1989 I cleaned caravans for a little while and it was kind of the same process you know you've got a limit

to time to do it and you've got it's got to be kind of perfect and it's very hard work you know if you if you ever go anywhere that has a chalet or a caravan I don't know what I was gonna gonna sort of say just think about the people that have to clean it I'm not sure where I'm going with that but it's hard it's really hard it's not an easy job very difficult job so it kind of put me off ah I just had an interruption there there's dogs

barking it sounded like someone was knocking on the door but they wasn't and I can't remember what I was talking about but yeah that's kind of how I was talking about butlins and caravans or something I it's almost like I've got things mapped in my brain and yeah because things were changing so often back then I've kind of compartmentalized them into like little little flags or little arrows to different bits you know since I've been living here this is probably the most the most stable maybe not emotionally but it's most

it's the first place I've ever lived for 10 years never lived in same building or the same premises for 10 years ever in my life so this is the first which means some of the stuff the last 10 years has become very muddled a little bit a bit mixed together so I haven't had that separation that you know because I remember like 2015 when I moved in it I remember that period and I remember I broke my wrist falling out the bath and there was a few you know remember the

first night I slept in the bedroom all I had was a bed I'd know all I had when I moved here was a bed and a bag of clothes and a chair that was it that's pretty much my entire belongings really which was a bit weird age 45 I was 44 at the time 44 so like it's not a lot of belongings is it but I had to chuck a lot of stuff out from the place including clothes because it was moldy so I had it was just horrible in the

place I lived before this there's a lot of stuff I'd had to chuck out and other stuff I just didn't want to bring with me I wanted to like a fresh start I bought a goldfish definitely bought a goldfish unfortunately they yeah they didn't so they didn't survive the journey they did survive the journey but they yeah that's a sad I promised them to get them a big big bowl like a proper big tank I didn't stick to that promise and they needed they needed a tank because those those goldfish

bowls you know the plastic ones they're okay but not enough room for 50 goldfish I didn't really have 50 goldfish come on so yeah I just remember certain things I remember certain years when I fractured my back I remember when that happened that was the literally a week after got Vinnie I don't remember the month that you know I remember certain things certain times where you know big things happened which I'm sure most people do also I suppose because I've got dates on my podcasts I can sometimes go back and

some of the images and some are like just to remind myself oh you know so what's the first day I did the first time I did a Let Me Bore You To Sleep what was the very first day and I can go back and find that date it was March 2018 so it's like okay which is crazy really three years I'll be ten years doing the Let Me Bore You To Sleep next year it'll be 20 years of making podcasts and videos online 20 years you think I have an audience

by now wouldn't you by keep going or keep at it so anyway thanks Sean I hope I've answered these questions been two hours so far so Jackie says Tammy I agree I love that Jason is so candid with his thoughts I love his awareness his inherent kindness oh thank you let's not got too crazy this is not a cult no carry on you can say nice things there's never a you trust me I never get bored of hearing nice things said about me that's the one thing I will never get

bored of that if you send me nice words saying how I'm helping you never not once have I ever seen a message and thought I'll shut up I'll not you against being nice no I can't get enough of that honestly it probably says something about my need for acceptance possibly but yeah it's nice to feel appreciated I think and I don't feel appreciated in real life so it's nice that I know this is real life but technically it's kind of I suppose it'd be a little I'll be on a radio

wouldn't it I've been a radio presenter which is possibly why I should have done maybe that was my calling to be a radio presenter just chatting over these years I could have done that and maybe maybe I still could I don't know don't know might not be might be too late maybe this is kind of my version this is the this today's version of a radio show maybe and don't know about you but if he's not discussing himself or his day impressions I get bored oh so bored and being that

bored it's not conducive to sleeping what do you think about that what do you think about that then hey what do you think about that hey hey hey JJ if you see this why do you think this is yep I'm going to have to post this in your next Q&A I hope I can keep up actually I posted it I posted that it's us realize I posted that into the Q&A any questions for this Friday I do I will do that if I see a thing that's kind of asking a

question somewhere else I'll post it otherwise I'll forget if it's sort of somewhere else hmm well I don't know it's we're all different we all like different things I mean some people would find it really good just to hear me counting down so it's like count down from a thousand like thousand 999 998 I think there's a few of you thinking well not now but like you see gonna continue how long is he gonna continue for is he just gonna go down to maybe nine hundred and ninety or they keep

going keep pushing it and go all the way down all the way down to one which will take probably two hours but no I'm not going to do that but some some people would like that some people would find that useful and different people like different things I do realize that that the problem we've talked about myself is well I have no problem talking about myself I love it but when it's about my day-to-day life it's not always easy to do because there's nothing going on a lot of time so

but with the Q&A Friday it makes it a little bit easier because I've got something to talk about and I'll still manage to talk about my day-to-day life as well during this but there's there's not a huge amount going on at the moment and I do try and keep things positive so if this things something is this there's things that aren't so great going on I don't like to really talk about that stuff because I like to think this is a fairly I don't know just a nice a nice space

I mean not everything I say is gonna be like super positive but I try to keep it light being bored yeah I think I don't know why that is why being bored doesn't send you to sleep I'm not sure well that that type of boring and all different I guess I think that's just what it is there's gonna be some people who've listened to my recordings and think like we just just talking well what's the point in this yet they may like the sleep hypnosis recordings I do and some people

absolutely can't stand the whisper stuff and other people prefer the whisper stuff it some people really there's a few people are really like the the the boring and was it bedtime story time things I've done it's just everyone's different and they some people like the I've had a quite a bit of positive a lot and I a fair amount of positive feedback for the let me pull your pain away that was kind of a bit of a passion project to be fair I haven't done any this week haven't felt it

I just haven't yeah haven't it I mean I went to do a recording I said on Wednesday and I'm just looking just there's no words there was words but they weren't words I wanted to say I just wasn't wasn't in the mood so when I'm like that there's no point me making a recording because I'm never gonna force myself to do it because otherwise if I'm not enjoying it or if I'm not relaxed I think that's gonna come across I think I don't know maybe not so you won't have to

post this to the next Q&A because you we've done it today so I don't really know what the answer is we're all different we all just like different things I did do a survey ages ago like a little questionnaire what do you prefer and it was different but different people no one there was no real I suppose to Let Me Bore You To Sleep was the unanimous one because I think that I think that the majority of people that come to this group like I come through the Let Me Bore

You To Sleep not necessarily through the chronic pain or this or through the stress and pain relief or through the stop smoking or whatever other ones I've done because I've done lots of different podcasts thousands of recordings I've done thousands it's ridiculous really so you yeah I'd like to get that feedback I'd like to just it'd be nice if if there was a way of just finding out what everyone likes but then the problem with that is if I start to try and change what I'm doing to suit every individual

request or need I will be then micromanaging myself and then I wouldn't want to do it anymore I've been micromanaged before and it's horrible it's like just it constantly like no do like that do that do you doing this you're doing that you know there needs to be freedom there and I don't want to do something that I don't like doing so you know there was a podcast I did in I think was during kind of lockdown period okay and it was what was it called relaxation for stress and panic

attacks I did a lot of recordings I lived every day I was doing them and I ended up doing I've now got 239 and there's a few recent years but most of them like 223 229 230 200 okay so 230 was 7th of May 2021 okay let's have a look at where number one was said May 2021 so I started okay right I started it a long time before that so yeah probably about 2015 but but I didn't really start getting into it until about 2019 so I did number 56

54 53 in 2019 all the way up to I'm reading this off the screen just in case you think that I'm remembering at all and but that was October September October December but then number 70 in 2020 so 70 and we know you know what happened in 2020 so number 70 all the way up to I mean honestly blimey a lot I did a lot so 2020 2000 right 29th of December 2020 from number 70 to 218 70 to 218 and it was so regular as well was quite regular and

I was doing just I had this little microphone lapel microphone and I was making recordings while I was pacing not pacing in a like a weird way but just walking around and I was I was quite energetic I was getting quite passionate about what I was talking about so there's a 9th of January 12th of January 13th 14th 15th 17th 18th 19th 24th 25th 26th 27th 28th 29th 30th 31st of January like nearly it's like wow and in February the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 12th 13th

15th 16th 18th 19th 21st 24th 26th 27th of February so you know I'm quite regularly doing these recordings and after a certain time I started giving them names instead of just a number I started giving them yeah the first one number 80 I gave it a name to smiley mirror that's 26th of January 2020 and then meaning purpose was the next one web page ball or sock silly song that was a good one actually silly song 30th of January 2020 I thought was funny self-worth they're not not me saying it

but I think the actual podcast do you the recording is quite good recording if I remember rightly it is over five years ago then you got self-worth gratitude drip focusing bath floater I like some of these titles I'm not sure if I yeah it's anyone's guess why I was talking about magic relaxation mirror hopelessness is it true you're not broken relaxation sessions reassuring letter self-sabotage relapse noise sensitivity question automatic thinking evict self-prejudiced blimey hash be kind free anxiety brain plasticity that was January February 2020 send healing don't feel guilty for

being ill give attention to mini-me stress and anxiety unnatural germs that's one of that germs that was 2020 March wonder what made me think about that hmm I wonder so this I was doing this at the beginning of the year yeah just something kicked in and I was like nearly every day making a new one and they were lasting for like 40 50 minutes some of them some of them like 20 minutes but yeah never give up and remember this is temporary it's been emotional that's an hour and six minutes

a safe positive healing relaxation how are you today relaxed hands equals relaxed brain feel safe feel comfort feel relaxed and reduce anxiety level compassion reduces stress funny memory intrusive thoughts are just thoughts we are born positive blimey tapping fingertips no mass that's I like that one but I'm kind of talking about boxing but it's still relevant see these are amongst my favorite recordings I've ever made and chained elephant vice grip positive butterflies you can choose what you think about bubble fart confidence I've got no idea Ringo tension release okay I've

got no that groovy relax or sleep session TV remote amazing loved and deeply relaxed stress licking ferret as about Andre so stress versus love focus on feeling relaxed relax sleep neurons lighting up okay buckets of healing relaxing no bucket of relaxing healing you in the mirror stress sucking helmet some of these names are a bit weird letting stress no it's not a prisoner dissolving the rust of anxiety I don't know what was going on in my brain at the time but it seems to be quite active removing stress batteries hand

squeeze stress relief technique blind sports recording yourself no idea what that was you are going to be okay we don't reduce stress when thinking of someone you dislike you got a balloon anxiety reduction technique overcoming hurdle too big to swallow choose relaxation bubble or sleep bubble say nice things to yourself whilst walking ah negativity fumigation questioning your worries there's some I quite like these these titles from five years ago well this is now like four and a half years ago it's near the end of 2020 natural born positivity burping your

anxiety not taking yourself too seriously when you're feeling agitated positivity trigger you were born able to relax and sleep naturally which is true put trust in your brain to relax or sleep during noise support networks and asking for help making friends with yourself victim mentality emotional abuse never again caring for carers okay that was a really long one so I've got no idea what I'm kind of sound like what everyone the power of breathing okay so I'm talking about bereavement don't know why make friends with your stress hot water bottles

stress relief technique pouring healing relaxation and safety into your brain tapping scalp to relax brain rehearsing feeling okay yeah listen to my boring voice Superman re-energizing right assess that's quite a few in it kettle anger release quite like that one and so it's only a short one but it's quite good holding safe hands and there's a quantum memory shift it's another one that's a bit more that's me trying to be advanced it didn't work maybe it did I don't know hi Jason from Cindy you recently shared a story about your

grandfather as told to you by your nan are there any other nan stories you can share trying to think I mean we used to talk about I mean this stories about her she was really good swimmer but I feel like men stories that she told me she told me about you know a family she told me about her parents she told me I got a lot of information about my very very young childhood from her because no one else would talk about it but she would so she told me she

had pictures of me when I was a baby and there was I think I had blonde hair back then yeah I'm just trying to think it was I'll get back to you on that one I thought I might I'm just trying to think come off the top of my head any particular stories that she told me can't believe it's been over 10 years since I last spoke to her she used to yeah she talked about stuff but a lot of things that we talked about would be about what's going on

now we didn't really focus too much on the past but when she did she talked about like how she she remembered some of the stuff that happened I mean there was one she said my dad my biological mother had moved out of her house and bearing in mind both my dad and her were very young and this before they got married and they got married in what 65 I think which was five years before I got born and my dad was 26 when I was born so he would have got

married at 21 they were dating before that and he was living at home and he was my dad was at work I think he was an apprentice at the time so he left school then went as an apprenticeship and it's not funny really but my other biological grandfather the one I never met because he passed away quite early before I was born I think so basically and apparently he was just a huge man huge my granddad wasn't huge he was wasn't he just what he was very slim and but this

bloke was just you know apparently according to my nan he was massive and he just shadowed my granddad like really just my nan was worried for my granddad my other granddad that her husband rather well what happened next is so he knocks on the door where's my door so so they didn't know she was in the house so she was in the bedroom upstairs what they didn't know both my nan and my granddad because I my granddad was retired at this point was he retired I don't know yeah he was

retired yeah he was retired at this point he didn't know that she was upstairs not only was she upstairs she'd moved out of her family home she took her stuff and moved out into my nan and granddad's they didn't even know so he's knocking on the door saying I want my daughter I want to bring her back so they my nan because she was always around the house because she was my dad's girlfriend or fiance or whatever so I don't know but so my nan did say that she was worried

for my granddad but her I keep saying granddad because they were both my granddad's but she was worried for her husband my granddad Newland she was worried for him because he was tiny compared to this bloke the other granddad so but I think well okay my granddad would have been 60 then so this this would have been no he'd have been 50 he would have still been at work so it'd be about 55 even I think he retired in 1970 when he was 60 I think he could retire at 60

back then and then he I think so I'm not a hundred percent sure but anyway and I don't know I'm thinking my granddad was a boxer in the army but he was a boxer he was and at 55 which is nearly as old as I am he would have been a lot probably more much more fitter than I am and he would have been well able to take care of himself because not only was he a boxer but he also had been in the army you know it served time in

the army for I think 12 years as a career and then he was in the army again during a war for six years so it's you know done over 20 years in the army pretty much nearly so I don't know but apparently but no they didn't come to blows but my nan said that she was really worried that he was gonna he was just like beat up my other granddad but they didn't now I don't know how well they get on I think she was I think he was gone before

they even got married before my dad got married to her but she did tell me stuff about my mum about my biological mum and what she did say though he said she was even though she was a problem and it's always causing just causing problems causing she had a chaotic life back then she might I don't know when she might have a really good life now but he said for all our faults the one thing she had to say is she was funny she made a laugh she made my nan

laugh and that's the one thing that I kind of think okay cool that means something to me like that's good because she yeah she'd lived a chaotic life but that's probably because of where her background came from she'd you know she'd learn that and she was whatever you know wasn't just her own decision to be like that and she also had according to my nan she was like bipolar or she had mental health stuff but she was best friends with my auntie I think my auntie and her went to school

together who my auntie was probably a couple of years younger than my dad and it's probably how they met probably how him and my my met because she'd be around probably with her sister and I don't know they just got together so you know even though she left when I was six months old so it's like 1971 the fact is they'd been together quite a while they got married 65 so six years and they were probably together a year or two before that so you know it was it wasn't like

a short term and I had three kids so it must have been must have had a good time at some point I don't know she's told what did she tell me she that's just one of the things she's basically she said that when my mom took off yeah she used to used to go into the butchers and the bakers and and they'd all be asking her about the money that my mom owed them so apparently she just owed money to everyone that's what my nan said again it's like you know

I'm not here to say horrible things about anyone but that's all my name she said like just she just be borrowing money off everyone but she'd make people laugh that she was like just funny funny person so yeah I think maybe it's the maybe that's why I've got bipolar maybe that's where my my brain comes from I mean yeah inherited well you inherited this brain but that's it it's probably over this loads of other stuff but that's one off the top of my head I realize the times going it's now

line is six o'clock Dev asks hello Jason hello all I'm a newbie at this a chronic pain sufferer but also interested in learning about hypnosis in general as well as applying it to creative writing I find Jason's podcast very effective actually but both for pain relief and sleep I'd also like to learn how a writer can place itself into a sort of fictional environment and develop her story equally I would like to learn about immersing a reader into the story I'm currently struggling with writing a sort of ghost story thanks

in advance and I don't know so I'm not a writer and I suppose to immerse someone into a story would be keeping it flowing but then it's me teaching how to write I don't I don't know how to write but it's my understanding of like free I writing with with creative writing is one of the things I've done a little bit of read books on it and played around with it what I liked about it is this there's no right or wrong you know it's art creativity there's no there is

no right or wrong you just see what comes up and maybe something really cool come up a fictional environment develop a story I tell you what you could do you could tell the story you could verbally tell the story and see what comes up transcribe it there's loads of transcribing places you can get stuff transcribed just record it on your on your phone and then just look back at it and maybe start to you could like map it out okay well it's that's that there's that character where would they go

what would they do and you know I don't know I mean it's not something that I'm ever gonna be doing and what if I ever wrote a book it'd be kind of it'd have to be factual pretty much made up but about me maybe or trying to think there's something else I was thought about doing yeah just it'd have to be that's a way you could do it maybe but as far as hypnosis I'm not really sure it's something I don't really know about when it comes to writing I used

to write diaries and journals but it was more for me it's a lot of shouting isn't here that in the background it's not very good answer let me think about it a bit more if I come up if I think of anything else I'll mention in the next recording I might do a little bit of research so thanks everybody thank you go down the list Maria Kathleen Tammy Jonathan Joanne Sean Jackie Cindy and dev it's like a marathon wasn't it there's a lot of love I don't know how long I've

been talking for it's probably nearly two and a half hours which means I'm not sure when this is gonna get edited I'm literally recording this on a Saturday afternoon I know it's Friday Q&A Friday but I was got so caught up in building the website but I did start this I thought I started it at 3 I definitely started it before 4 o'clock because I was already at 2 hours last time I went to a toilet so I had a break blimey it's now 7 minutes past 6 and there's boxing

on at 7 so this might be one of those Q&A Fridays that come out on Sunday morning I apologize kind of I'll do a little bit just a little bit so thank you I just didn't expect to get this many questions I'm not pleased thanks but there's been times when I get like two questions and I still manage to last that for an hour or so so that's it that is the end of this recording so thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve to be happy and be gentle with yourself you deserve to feel safe lots of love bye
