Hello and welcome to Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily. My name is Jason Newland. My website is jasonnewland.com where all of my recordings are available free to download and free to stream.
They're all organized and there's thousands of recordings on there. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Now please get comfortable sitting in a chair or lying down.
Now if you're lying down there's more chance you may fall asleep because I don't know it's just basically it's the normal sleeping position isn't it. If you're lying down your body is used to that position. Something that we've been doing since we were babies and it's almost almost programmed to prepare to fall asleep when you're lying down.
Now part of the benefit of this recording and all of the recordings in fact that I make is this gives you an opportunity to take some time out of your life. Take some time out of your day. Gives you an opportunity to think about something different.
Take your mind off of the daily chores and issues that may be on your mind. Gives you an opportunity to let go of those thoughts. Gives you a chance to allow the stress and tension to leave your body and your mind.
So it's a nice little break, nice time to just give yourself permission to let go. So it's not something that I'm doing to you. This is something that you're giving me permission to give you suggestions which you can follow because you choose and have chosen by pressing the play button to actually listen to me and to follow what I say.
Although you may find that even though I'm still talking you may start to drift and although you're listening unconsciously, consciously you may just start to drift away and occasionally you may come back and oh you hear me talking and it's as if you've been asleep maybe but perhaps you haven't. You started to daydream, started to imagine some of the things that maybe I'm suggesting or in fact you may just fall asleep.
Could be due to boredom because let's face it, I've not got the most exciting voice in the world but that's you know quite a good thing for this type of recording.
So you can just listen to me and the more you listen, the more often you listen, whether it's to this particular recording or to others that I've recorded or future ones that I will record, you'll find gradually over time that that sense of relaxation that you may achieve after maybe 10 or 15 minutes starts to happen quicker after maybe only a few minutes and the more you listen, the more often daily listening,
you start to notice that just the idea of sitting down or lying down listening to my boring voice actually causes you to start to feel that familiar sense of comfort spreading through your body and your mind starts to slow down so you have the opportunity to become used to this feeling of calmness, to become more accustomed to the sense of easily and naturally letting go, really just letting go completely.
And if this is the first time you've listened to me or maybe the first time you listened to this type of recording, it may seem a bit strange the idea of letting go. I've heard many people over the years say that they just can't relax or can never relax blah blah blah but then with a little bit of effort and that effort may only just be a case of pressing the play button.
Relaxation actually is much easier than most of us realize because that sense of just sitting there with your eyes closed or lying down with your eyes closed and your body gradually becoming looser and calmer and your mind slowing down and becoming more peaceful. That feeling is actually our natural state of being. The ability to let go of stress and tension and just to relax and feel calm is something that we've been able to do since we were born, something we actually were born with that ability.
And most of the things that we've we can do now we've had to learn through our lives but relaxation is something that as an adult perhaps we need to relearn because we never had to learn it to start with. It's just about getting back to how we are naturally. You've only got to study a little baby to see how easily they relax.
I mean quite often a small child can actually fall asleep in the middle of something. I've seen children fall asleep while they're actually talking or while they're eating. So yeah it's quite it's it's a natural thing that we have within us not to fall asleep while we're doing something because you know as adults we learn to be able to focus on things.
But that ability to very quickly relax all the muscles of your body is still there because we were born with that ability. It comes naturally to us and when you start to wrap your mind around that idea that it's relaxing isn't anything special. It's not a special skill something that you need to spend much much time learning.
You don't need to read books on how to relax because you already know how to. It's just putting your trust in yourself in your own ability to just let go, to just do what's natural, just in the same way as we can breathe. We don't have to focus our attention or concentrate on breathing.
It just happens naturally. Sweating is something that happens naturally but you can't force it. You can turn the heating up and put on loads of clothes in order to sweat or do exercise.
But the body does what it does naturally. It doesn't need our help. Just a case of trusting in our own natural abilities to do those things that are needed such as sleeping easily, being able to just allow your mind to switch off when it's time to relax or sleep.
I say relax or sleep. I mean relax and sleep as well because when it's time to fall asleep when you choose you want to go to bed relaxing is something that happens before we fall asleep. And something that maybe many people forget is how nice it is, how pleasant and pleasurable it feels to be able to lie in bed, comfortable, safe and relaxed.
It feels nice to just lay there completely relaxed without concerning yourself with falling asleep. Because once you start worrying about sleeping or if you're going to get enough sleep or you're trying to force yourself to fall asleep then it's not going to happen. Sleeping is a natural thing.
And as long as you're lying down relaxed with your eyes closed your body and your mind is gaining huge amounts of benefit from that and you'll eventually fall asleep without any effort whatsoever because effort does not lead to sleep. Effort does not lead to relaxation when you try and force it. It's an effortless thing to do.
It's just natural. So basically all you do is just remove the obstacles to relaxing deeply. You remove the obstacles to drifting off to sleep.
And those obstacles quite often is just our own mind, our own thoughts. And our thoughts are not needed when we're in bed or when we're relaxing. Your thoughts are not necessary but of no benefit to you in that moment, in this moment.
And you can just let them go. So whenever a thought comes just let it go like a cloud in the sky. You can watch it drift by.
There's a little bit of a poem there. You can't hold on to a cloud. You can't, you can do all you want and say I want that cloud to stay in one position but it won't.
Not if all the clouds are moving. You can't keep a cloud there with your mind. You can't control the clouds.
So why try and control your thoughts? Just allow your thoughts to be like the clouds. Because the more you try and hold down the thoughts, the more you try and stop the thoughts from coming, the more they'll come. When you no longer care, when you just let go, they no longer have any power.
And they don't bother you at all. Which allows you to just enjoy the sensation of comfort that naturally happens in your body and in your mind. Because when your mind feels calm, your body follows.
And when your body feels relaxed, your mind follows. So it's that continuous circle. It works the other way around as well with tension and stress.
But you already know that. So this is just moving in a different direction. Moving in a different direction.
So that your body feels relaxed and your mind follows by slowing down. Which causes your body to feel even more comfortable and loose. Causing your mind to feel more peaceful.
And that continues as you move and continue to move in that direction. And once that journey has started, it is almost like a downhill, slope, traveling, like going down a slide. Once it starts, the journey doesn't end until you get to the end of the slide, the bottom.
And it's so easy and so simple. No thoughts required. No thinking.
Just relaxing. And you may be surprised that as you focus on the different parts of your body, how relaxed your body can feel. How peaceful your mind is right now.
And it's about enjoying this feeling. Appreciating yourself and your ability to let go. And get in touch with that natural sensation of comfort and peacefulness spreading through your body and your mind.
Continuing. Onwards. Becoming more and more comfortable.
More and more relaxed. And you can continue this journey of comfort for as long as you choose. And if you decide to drift even deeper and fall into a deep, natural sleep, then that's what will happen.
If that's what you need, that's what will happen. Because this is just natural. You are born with this ability to easily relax so deeply.
And enjoy feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful.
Paragraph spacing and recurring name or title errors have been tidied. Because this began as a voice transcription, an occasional word or piece of punctuation may still be incorrect.
