Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. So I thought maybe we can just make some space, take some time out of the day, and relax.

It's raining outside here so I don't know if you'll hear it in the background, it's not particularly loud. There's something quite relaxing about hearing rain. In fact on a warm day it's quite nice to be out in the rain, and providing you're not going somewhere where you need to be dry at the end of the journey.

It's a similar kind of feeling that you'll get when you stand under the shower and have your scalp being massaged by the water, which is really stimulating I find. It stimulates the nerve endings of your scalp, sends tingles down your body, relaxes your body. And of course having that shower, spraying water on the different parts of your body as well, can be really relaxing.

I guess it's the stimulation of the skin, and because the skin is all connected together, when you spray, let's say on your chest area, you're also spraying on your feet, because that skin is connected to your feet, and to your back, and to your shoulders, and to your forehead, the back of your neck, your hands, it's all connected. I guess like a pond, that ripple that you cause when you spray water on a particular part of your body, then spreads that feeling of calmness down to other parts of your body.

It's a nice feeling.

And when we realize and start to notice the truth behind the fact that our skin is all connected, we realize that when one part of your body feels relaxed, that's going, it has no, it can't not affect the rest of your body. It's going to have a knock-on effect, and start to relax and calm other parts of your body. Because that signal of comfort spreads through the skin like an electrical current, sending that message of comfort all over your body.

But it also goes inwards as well, because anything that's connected to that skin, your skin will also be affected and become more relaxed, which includes of course the muscles. So all the muscles in your body start to relax. Not just the muscles in the part of your body where you're focusing on.

For example, I focused on my left shoulder, but as my left shoulder relaxes, that sensation is spread through my skin instantly. Instantly. Signaling to the rest of my skin and the rest of my body that it's okay to relax, that it's okay to let go.

And as the signal of comfort spreads underneath the skin of my left shoulder into the muscles, as I notice the loosening of the muscles in my left shoulder, that again is a signal to all the other muscles in my body that are connected. So the muscles, it's almost like one muscle can then pass it on, almost whispering to the next muscle, it's okay, you can relax, pass it on.

And then the sensation of comfort soaks deeper into your bones, relaxing the bones of my left shoulder, sending that signal throughout my entire skeleton system.

All the different bones in my body now know that it's okay to relax. Your bones now know that it's fine to just let go and welcome this feeling of increased comfort, just gradually spreading through your body. And the more relaxed and comfortable the rest of my body feels, the harder it is to pinpoint my left shoulder as being any different from the rest of my body.

So it's almost as if they've just all mingled together with a very similar feeling of comfort, spreading through the skin, through the muscles, and through my bones, relaxing my whole skeletal system, including my fingers and my toes. There's a looseness, there's a real light, lightness that's there, almost as if your body is being supported, like floating on air almost, knowing and realizing that you don't need to do anything.

You can actually enjoy just being aware of that comfort spreading and continuing to spread through your body.

And there may even be the some parts of your body that perhaps you've had issues with in the past. I have issues with my lower back on the left side. And although I could feel it, it's not bothering me.

It's almost like, I know it's weird, but I can feel it. I can feel that area that I normally have problems with. And there's physical sensations, a lot less than there normally is, but there's still some physical sensations there, which I would normally label in a more negative way probably.

And as I said that, the feeling just disappeared. But there's a part of me that just doesn't care about my lower back. It doesn't matter.

It's, it's so unimportant right now. It doesn't require my attention. And perhaps part of that is when we give our attention to the whole of our body.

It means that we're only, we're kind of limited to how much attention we can give to each part. When you're spreading your attention to the whole of your body, from your head, shoulders, arms and the hands and fingers, your chest and your stomach, the whole of your back, including your spine, your hips, your groin, your buttocks, you've got your legs, the thighs, knees, lower legs, ankles, feet and toes.

Not just the limbs and not just the body parts, but focusing on the skin.

We've been focusing on the muscles, the whole of your body. And we've been focusing on the bones of your body. Which means that our attention has really been taken up with this focus.

To the point where I'd completely forgotten about our mind. I hadn't really thought about my mind and what's going on there. So maybe I'll allow 10% of my attention on my mind and still give 90% of my attention to observing the physical sensations of comfort continuing to spread throughout my body.

And you can do the same. And as you focus only 10% of your attention on your mind, I'm noticing that there's really nothing going on in my mind. It's a very, very still.

It's very quiet. And there's no movement. Nothing requiring your attention.

I guess it's sort of almost like an empty room where the lights have been switched off and everyone's just gone home for the day. Very peaceful, very calm, very calm. I'm starting to realize that the feelings in my body, the comfort, the calmness, the sense of increasing relaxation in your skin, your muscles and your bones of your body, that feelings also spread into your mind.

Feeling so quiet, feeling so relaxed, easily and naturally continuing to drift into that sense of deep, deep relaxation. I'm just going to count from 20 down to one. And with every number that I count, you can sink twice as deeply, sink twice as deeply into relaxation, twice as relaxed with each number.

And you may find that you also drift twice as deeply into a sense of sleepiness, a sense of sleepiness. Starting with 20, moving all the way down to number one, finding that every number you hear me say you automatically feel physically, you're going to feel twice as relaxed in your body and twice as calm in your mind. Feel so comfortable and you're going to feel so loose and calm.

Now, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 16, 15, 13, 12, 11, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Paragraph spacing and recurring name or title errors have been tidied. Because this began as a voice transcription, an occasional word or piece of punctuation may still be incorrect.
