Hello and welcome to SleepHypnosisWeekly.com. My name is Jason Newland. This is Sleep Hypnosis Weekly. Please only listen to this when you can safely close your eyes.

I'd just like to say thank you for those of you, well for you, for listening to this podcast and I hope that it's useful. So I thought what I'll do today or this week is I'm going to count down from 100. So I advise you just get yourself into a comfortable sleepy position.

Just, you know, however you want. I mean I, my personal favourite position for just drifting off to sleep is laying on my left side, stretching right out and depending on the weather, I mean depending on, you know, if it's summer or winter. In the summer I like to put my right leg over the quilt cover and just kind of cuddle the quilt cover.

This winter I have the quilt cover over my body and maybe kind of put my knees, put a bit of the quilt between my knees and cuddle it a little bit on one edge. We've all got our own ways of feeling comfortable and maybe if you need to press the pause button and get yourself comfortable and then press play and you'll hear me talking again. I guess that's kind of obvious.

What I'm going to do, I'm going to count down from 100 and I'm going to kind of play around with the numbers. So it won't be quite as straightforward as 99, 98, 97, 96, 95. I'm just going to play around with the numbers and maybe not go in the order that you expect.

But that's okay because it's unimportant. Because while I count down and you can focus on the numbers as I count down, focusing on my voice and while you're focusing on my voice your body and your mind naturally relaxes and also focusing on me counting, to say the very least, is not the most exciting audio experience of your life. It's a little bit boring, probably a lot boring to the point where your mind starts to lose interest and your mind starts to drift.

And that's the point where you just naturally fall asleep. And something that I do say fairly regularly in my sleep sessions is there's something to be said for just enjoying the feeling of laying on your bed, feeling relaxed, just enjoying that, appreciating the physical and the emotional pleasure that gives you without having any concern or interest or thoughts about sleeping. Because the only thing you're doing is you're laying down, you're enjoying feeling relaxed.

Just in the same way as, you know, if you get on a train and there might be seven minutes before it leaves the platform, so you sit down, you haven't got to think about the train leaving the platform, you haven't got to think about driving the train because you're not a train driver, you might be a train driver, but you're not driving this particular train. You haven't got to do anything, you're just there.

And the train leaves the platform and takes off on the journey.

And there's no effort on your part at all, nothing required from you, not one thing. Which is quite nice, quite nice to realise that actually you're not needed for this, you're not needed in any way to fall asleep. It's not something that you do, it's just something that happens naturally.

So while that natural process happens, you can listen to my lovely voice talking about numbers and counting and all that good stuff. And as well as feeling relaxed, you can enjoy that sense of kind of boredom, but not in a negative way, but in a gentle kind of... It could be even in the point where you're thinking, I'm so glad that I'm not the one doing the counting.

It must be so boring.

To just be sitting there counting down from a hundred. At least you don't have to do that, you can just lay there and listen to me doing it. And nothing else, because everything else is taken care of.

Just in the same way as if you're living in a house, your house has got a roof already there. You've got to think about rain, you've got to think about getting wet when you're asleep. It's just everything's covered, everything literally.

You can relax, you can just lay there enjoying that feeling of comfort. There's something quite nice about closing your eyes and just enjoying that physical feeling of rest and letting go of any stresses or problems from the day just gone by. It just feels so nice to relax completely, to feel so safe and secure and so calm.

It's just a really nice feeling. So now I'm going to count down from 100 to 1. And don't don't feel that you need to, you know, hold on until I get to one, because you're going to be bored way, way before I get to that number. And you can just allow what your body and mind does the best.

Just the one skill that you were born to do naturally, something that you're an expert at, something that you were born an expert at, and that's sleeping. We were all born experts at sleeping. And now, starting with 100.

And any background sounds you hear, either my side or your side, doesn't matter. They're not important. They're just sounds.

Just sounds. Just like the sound of my voice. So starting with 100.

Sometimes I like to, when I'm doing this to myself, I like to visualize the number in my mind. 99. It feels nice to just feel your lower back relaxing.

It's almost as if your lower back is stretching on its own, but in a way that is healing to your body. Completely relaxing. 98.

Maybe feeling the pillow on your face, side of your head. 98. Feel so comfortable.

And it's also almost like a slide, like a little slide, sliding down into a deeper sense of comfort. 95, 94, 93, 92, 91. Noticing the heaviness of your body.
