Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name's Jason Newland. This is sleep hypnosis weekly.

And if you like what I do, please go to my website, leave a review. And this, I'm going to try and make more regular recordings weekly. I know there's been a few times when there's been a bit more, more weekage than there should be.
For example, maybe three weeks between recordings. But I am, my intention is to do one every week. As it says on the podcast, you know.
So what I'm going to do this week is something different to what I've ever done before. It's also going to involve me moving around. Because I'm going to join you in the process.
So it's, I mean, there may be background sounds generally, there's no way of controlling that really. But hopefully nothing too loud, a bit of traffic maybe in the distance. But it sounds, seems fairly quiet at the moment.
But the background sound you're going to get is me moving around. Which might, I don't know, I've not done this before. So it might leave the microphone a little bit muffled at times.
So if that's the case, then try and use, think of this session as learning something new, which you can practice yourself, which you can use yourself. As well as doing it at the same time as when I'm doing it. I hope that makes sense.
Because this is going to be, it's going to be a bit of physical movement. So which is going to involve basically sitting on the side of your bed. And then laying down on your bed.
And it's also going to involve getting out of your bed again, and sitting on the side of your bed. When I say get it out, I don't necessarily mean standing up, but just moving from sitting on the side of your bed to laying down on your bed. If this is a physical maneuver that is not practical due to bodily issues, or anything else, any other reason, then maybe don't listen to this.
Maybe, you know, turn it off. But you could still listen to it and adapt it in your own way. So instead of moving your body and getting out, you know, sitting on the side of your bed, you could change that for opening your eyes.
You know, so it's all about doing what is comfortable for you. That is, that's the most important thing. You need to look after yourself, make sure that you're physically safe and comfortable.
And there's absolutely no point in listening to recording on sleep if it gives you, if it causes physical pain or anything like that, you know. So the reason I'm going on a bit is some people have back issues or neck issues and moving around is not something that they're going to want to do. And as far as I'm concerned, I'm about causing relaxation, causing comfort, not the opposite.
So I don't want anyone to do anything that's going to get in the way of comfort and relaxation. Especially as this is a sleep session. You need to feel comfortable.
You need to feel relaxed. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to sit on the side of the bed so I don't bother side, I'm sitting with my feet on the ground. I'm going to move the quilt over so I can just get in and out of the bed easily without having to maneuver sheets or anything like that.
The pillow's there, so the pillow's all ready. And I'm just going to sit here. I'm going to close my eyes.
So at this point, you could turn your light off if you feel comfortable to do that if you're sleeping during the night time. And of course, you can leave it on. You can do whatever as long as you're comfortable.
That's the main thing. So I've got the light off. It's early morning, there's light coming through the window anyway.
So I'm sitting here, my feet on the ground. I'm making sure that my back is straight, or as straight as feels comfortable. I can feel my shoulders relaxing.
I can feel, yeah, I feel my body is relaxing actually. It's almost like the floor and my feet touching the floor is somehow connecting to the ground. And that's kind of weird because I'm upstairs.
I'm not even on the ground floor. But it's almost, it's like the building is connected to the ground. And my feet are touching the building, the floor.
And that's, you know, it's almost like I'm being supported by something that's being supported by the planet, by the Earth. And there's something to be said about where you live. Because if you sleep in the same place regularly, by that I mean you've got a home, or you live somewhere, and it's your, the place where you sleep, you know, every day, or nearly every day of the week.
You have a connection with that space. Whether it's a tiny little room, whether it's a huge room, even if it's a sofa in someone else's home, there is a connection you've got, an emotional connection with that sofa, with that bed, with that bedroom. And that's what you can get into.
That's what you can get in touch with when you're sitting on the side of the bed. And I'll tell you now what we're going to do. We're going to do it a few times.
But what I'm going to do is, after having done it a few times, I'm going to end the recording after saying to you to repeat the exercise. Okay? Because you may want to do it for an hour. I doubt it, but you might.
You might want to do it for another 10 minutes after I've finished. So instead of me just doing this for an hour, which won't make sense if you're already not getting up anymore. And I'm saying now, get back and, you know, sit on the side of your bed and you're lying there thinking, no, no thank you.
Done that a couple of times. Now I'm just going to stay here. It's more comfortable, way more relaxed.
My body don't want to move anymore. It's quite happy laying down. Thank you very much.
So what we're going to do is we're going to move from sitting on the side of the bed. And as I said, I'm going to do it as well. So I'm going to move from that to laying down and closing my eyes and counting down from 10 down to one.
And then I'm going to count up from one to 10. I'm going to sit back up. Okay, so that's the first thing I'm going to do.
So I'm literally going to just make sure that the microphone doesn't come out because that'd be annoying. I'm going to lay down. So now I'm laying down.
Oh, it feels much better than sitting up. Beddy, my bed, my body is supported by the bed. I started calling my bod, my beddy, my body, my beddy.
I feel like the bed is part of me. 4, 3, 2, 1. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Right, I'm going to sit up now.
I really don't want to. Okay. I'm not enjoying this part of it, sitting up again.
I don't want to sit up. I want to lay down. So I'm just going to sit here and I'm going to count from 10 down to one.
So I'm feeling more tired as I'm counting down. And remember, if at any point during that counting, you feel you need to lay down, just lay down. You don't have to count all the way down from 10 to 1. So if you get to 6 and you think, no, I'm not sitting here anymore, I'm laying down, then you can do that.
Which is exactly what I'm going to do right now. Oh, this feels nice. So there's a choice, sleeping, which is laying down, or being awake, which is sitting on the side of your bed.
And you can't go to bed, you can't go to sleep while you're sitting on the side of your bed, but you can when you're laying down. Counting down from 10 to 1. Remember, you can say this to yourself, these numbers, or you can say it out loud, it's up to you. Now I'm not going to count from 1 to 10 like before, I'm just going to, well there's two choices, either go to sleep, or sit on the side of the bed.
So you can choose that now. I'm going to sit on the side of the bed, so I'm going to get up, I don't want to, but my body is so heavy, so relaxed. It almost feels like I'm more relaxed, because I don't want to be told what to do, even though I'm the one telling myself to sit up.
It almost feels, you know that time when you wake up in the morning after sleeping, and you've got an appointment you've got to go to, and all you want to do is just roll over and go back to sleep. And you know that you will instantly be asleep, because you're already there. There's only a small part of your mind that's alert and awake and knows that perhaps you need to get up, but 95% of your mind is going, no, no thank you.
I'm kind of like near that position at the moment. I'm going to, I'm going to sit up now. I've got a creaky bed, I think it's a bed over there, oh it's my hips.
So now I'm going to count 10 down to 1, and already there's a big difference, because normally sitting on the side of the bed is not unpleasant, but compared to laying down, I know which one I choose. 6, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, I'm going to lay down. Oh it's better, I can't be bothered to count all the way down, it's almost like the bed is welcoming me.
Welcome back JJ, it's still warm, it's still warm from when I was laying in it a few seconds ago, it's lovely. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. You know what, this is possibly the most comfortable I've been in my bed for a long time, genuinely. My whole body is so relaxed, my back, you know, my lower back, which I have problems with normally, is completely relaxed.
So now you choose again, sleep, or sitting on the side of the bed. If you choose sleep, then you just allow yourself to drift off naturally. I'm going to get up again on the side of the bed, and I'm going to do it one last time, basically because I don't want to do it anymore.
I don't want to get up, I don't really, I don't want to move, this feels so nice. So I'm going to sit up on the side of the bed one last time, and you can continue to do it as many times as you need. Here we go.
This is where I need to learn to astral travel, so I can still just lay in the bed and sit on the side at the same time. Oh, here we go. I don't want to.
This is the most comfortable my lower back has felt in weeks, genuinely. It's almost like my body is rebelling against the getting out of bed and sitting on the side. Like my body is giving me this pleasure, this complete relaxation to somehow tempt me, or to convince me to just go to sleep.
Because it's nicer than sitting on the side of the bed. I already know that, but my body really wants to, but I guess my mind as well. There's no chitter-chatter, no worrying, no nothing, it's just almost like a meditative experience, I'm like in the moment.
Yeah, ready to drift off. So I'm going to sit up again. Don't want to, but it's part of the recording, so I need to get up any minute now.
Here we go. Right, so I'm sitting on the side of the bed again, feet on the ground. I've got my eyes closed.
And although I'm not uncomfortable, I'm still relaxed. In fact, I'm probably way more relaxed sitting on the side of my bed than I was before I started this recording. But the level of relaxation is a tiny fraction compared to what it was before when I was lying down.
And every time I lie down, that relaxation is deeper, way deeper. Ten, nine, eight, seven. I'm just going to lay down.
Ah, that feels so nice. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. And as you lay there, you can decide whether or not to sit back on the side of the bed with your feet on the ground.
Count to ten, or count from ten down to one. And then lay back down again, counting from ten down to one. And then getting back up again, sitting on the side of the bed.
You can do this as many times as you want to, to the point where you can no longer get out of bed. I'm going to leave you to either drift away now, which is what I would do, or you can continue the exercise. Until you're ready to naturally drift away into a deep, healing, natural sleep.
