Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. It is Sunday's Papers. So I hope you're well.

My name is Jason Newland. My website is jasonnewland.com. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. I'm accompanied by Ginger Rogers here.

I don't like to see your sausage roll all the time. Come on, put your sausage roll on. I don't want to see it.

I'd rather just look at your face. It's like being on a first date. Let's just put it there.

Vinnie, calm down. Again, yes, straight away, as soon as I start talking, he goes into hyper mode. So I've got a website called jasonnewland.com. I'm still working on it.

And it's starting to really become okay now. I've got a few things I've been adding nearly do do do do do do do 1190. I think I've done the Let Me Bore You To Sleep.

So it means I've only got another maybe 12 left. 13 left to do. And then it will be all up to date for that stuff.

And you can download all of the things for free. For free. For free.

So okay, today's Sunday's papers, I'm just going to go through the papers. See, I'm using Readly, which is an app. Looking at my iPad.

It's the best way to really well, it's not the only way to use it. But I find it's the easiest way to actually read the paper. Unfortunately, let me move the microphone a little bit closer.

That's it. The I just want to Yeah, I'm trying to think what I was gonna say. A couple of things happened today.

First of all, Vinnie is still barking at other dogs. Only specific dogs. It's getting a little bit.

He's done it twice today. It's getting a little bit silly now. Yeah, I'm really quite sure what is what his issue is.

I mean, such a gentle dog. That's the weird thing about it. It's just there's a few dogs.

He just says, I don't know, for whatever reason, he don't like him. And so there you go. Well, so yeah, did something very funny this very funny.

I say this morning that might Yeah, I think it was this morning about 1030. So this lady with a dog called Amber, Amber loves me. It's because I gave her treats and she just runs up to me and just, you know, she's gives me lots of attention.

Not many dogs do that. Not even Vinnie does that. So I love her, you know, send up I give her treats and she drops the ball in my feet so I can chuck it and stuff like that.

Well, I'm talking to the lady I said, Well, I'm gonna get gonna head home now. And she said, Alright, see ya. And then probably about a minute later, Amber was at my side again.

And she looked over the woman said, I'm walking your way. I said, Oh, this is awkward. Anyway, we walked to the end and I said, Oh, right, I'm going now.

I'm gonna go in a minute away. I'm just talking to I can't remember what we're talking about probably the weather or something. Anyway, Vinnie decided he wanted to go home.

So okay, and he started running. I thought he was running because he wanted to go to a tree or you know, he just he sometimes he picks up a scent and he tries to lead me there or we need to go to a toilet. So I'm just like, jogging behind him.

And I waved to her so it looks like he wants to go home. And we're just getting to the entrance or the exit of the park. And he's still running like I don't know what I hear her voice out.

He's got the ball. He's got Amber's ball. I didn't realize I stopped looked at him and he did indeed have Amber's ball.

He did what he did. He did what he did. He did he did did a few weeks ago, the exact same thing.

They basically picked the ball up while no one was looking and just ran for it. That wasn't a game. He wanted to keep the ball and bring it home.

I mean, he's done it twice now. It's just lucky that I've got him on the lead because he would just run out out on his own run home. And it's Yeah, I'm not quite sure why he does.

Well, I know why he does it because he wants the ball obviously. Oh, well, trying to think what else much has happened really. So I've been working on the website most of the day.

I've added some reviews to the website and gonna once I've finished the Let Me Bore You To Sleep section. I'm going to play around with the website a little bit and see what apps I can add to make it a bit more of a an experience. Other than that, I didn't make a recording yesterday.

Although yesterday was Vinnie had a good day yesterday. First of all, I took him to the petrol station, and then to the sweet shop where he got a treat to bring back and carry that home. And we had we've only been back what probably 10 minutes 20 minutes.

And his mummy knocked on the door didn't she? He knocked the whole building down. He was using a knocker even though I've covered the knocker up. So I got a door knocker on the door.

I've also got a camera door camera on the door as well. So apparently she pressed the door camera. I've got my phone turned on mute most of the time.

Unless I'm expecting someone to call or I'm waiting for delivery. If I miss a call from someone important, I'll just call them back. Well, I didn't realise it was her.

Because I forget I've got I've only had the camera up for about a week. I had it maybe not even that. I put it Yeah, maybe a week I put it up in the past, but then I took it down.

But because I had my toilet roll stolen a few weeks ago, and there's been weird stuff happening in thing. And in the flats, someone urinated on the floor downstairs. Yeah, so it's kind of need need the need the camera just to see.

It's hopefully deters people from being anti social, I guess is the right word, isn't it? And my neighbour downstairs, she's got one as well. So both the both the landings are covered. So it's the same thing as if anything happened to any of the other doors that will be on camera as well probably.

So it's handy for them. Anyway, I forgot to look at it because I just forget I've got it there because it's only been up for a week. I looked for the keyhole still couldn't or the people rather not the keyhole.

No, I haven't looked through a keyhole for months. I look for the people. I still wasn't 100% sure who it was.

But I opened the door for I thought I knew it was one of two people. And it was his mum that the lady that used to have him before we still call him his mum. He adores her absolutely adores her.

I don't think there's anyone in the world he he adores more than her seriously. I mean, he might love me I don't know. I guess because I'm with him all the time.

It's one of those he doesn't appreciate me probably because I'm just always here. But when he sees her it's like a holiday. It's you know everything gets treated it gets to she's got a garden and this time she took him for a walk.

A really long walk. So what to the to the top shops but that's she's gone for a couple of hours. And he was happy so he'd been out already had a long walk and then he got out to go for another long walk.

Then he got to play in the garden. Didn't you got to spend time with your mummy. So it was a good old day for you wasn't it.

Today I've taken him into the field twice. Because I was going to go into the I was going to go into the park earlier. The second time I took him out.

And there was a black dog in there off the lead. One that he always barks at. Just and it's a lovely dog but I don't know why he barks at it.

And they were rushing to put the dog on the lead and I just thought. I just pulled him out and we just walked out of the park. And I took him a different way.

And this time again I literally just took him out the front door. About to turn right and he started barking at a dog across the road that was walking towards the park. So I just led him a different way and we went into the field.

Because I just he can't calm down. Can't you calm down for a bit. Isn't it weird.

I can grab his I can grab his tail right. And he's just playing with me. I'm grabbing his tail and he's not he's not trying to hurt me.

He's just playing. If I did that outside he would actually really snap at me. Isn't it weird.

I'm grabbing his tail and it's like literally he doesn't mind. He just it's a game. Hey what's going on with you.

What's going on with you. I think you might need a bath. Do you need a bath.

Do you need do you need a fresh bath. As opposed to a dirty bath. Hey.

So yeah I got a few people using the door knocker. To get my attention all you need to do is press on the door and if any barks he is my he is my door alarm. So if you just gently tap on the door he'll go well he will be very high pitched and very loud.

The door knocker makes it worse. He barks even louder and it makes me jump. So I covered the door knocker over with a sign saying to deliveries to leave my stuff on the floor and packages on the floor and stuff.

I covered the knocker over. She literally still used the knocker and then she pulled the thing off or whatever or put a hand underneath. And I was all grumpy when I answered the door and I thought what am I being so grumpy for.

Doesn't really matter does it. Plus I don't mind her doing it. Although she probably won't do it again.

But she is not. She said I'll press the buzzer. I said well I'm surprised that Vinnie didn't know she was there.

Because normally he must have been really busy doing something. Because he normally knows when she's in the vicinity. And just walking up the stairs he would generally be barking and getting excited.

And there's a difference. It's like barking when the postman comes. And literally losing his completely losing it when his mum's there because he just loves us so much.

Anyway I'm now I'm now now now now now. Yeah Molly is when you listen to this recording Molly will have been through her operation and on the road to recovery. So just thought I'd let you know.

I did contact her earlier to ask her when the op was and she said in I think six hours time. And this was blimey. It might have even been six hours ago.

So she might be actually having the op now as we speak. Or as I'm speaking. I lose track of when I phoned her.

Well not phoned her. I sent her a message. But let's have a look.

Also I want to say thank you to Christine for your message earlier on that I read. Oh okay. I sent her a message at 12.17 UK time pm.

When is your op? And she said in nine hours. Well she said what's it got to do you? What do you want to know? Who are you? Stop contacting me. No she said in nine hours.

Actually I know she's going to wake up. Go to bed and wake up in six hours time. So nine hours from.

So literally seven. Just over an hour from now. It's quarter to eight now.

So she'll be in hospital right now. So yeah she I guess Molly would be if you're listening to this. Which you won't be.

Not until after your operation. So just wish you well. And I'm sure everybody listening also wishes you well as well.

As well as well as well. So right Sunday Peppers. Sunday Peppers.

So the first thing Shane Ward. I put my wedding on hold for Strictly. Now I don't know if other countries have Strictly come dancing.

It used to just be called come dancing. And I don't know why they changed it. Or I don't want to say anything negative about it because my Nan loved Strictly come dancing.

They don't even call it Strictly come dancing. They always call it Strictly. Like I'm a celebrity.

Get me out of here. I'm a celebrity. You know you can't actually say the whole sentence.

But I understand for this for the sake of headlines. I suppose it's easier isn't it? My Nan loved Strictly like. But it kind of made sense that she would.

Because she when she was young. That was what she her generation did. They went dancing in dancing halls.

And they dressed up. And you know because it was in the. Well she was.

She was born in 1919. So you know. She was growing up in the 20s wasn't she? Or the 30s.

I've joined Ancestor.com. And I started looking through my ancestry. I'll talk about that another time. Because that is weird.

It is very very strange. And yeah. So I'll also.

I have a DNA kit coming. A DNA test. Okay.

I want to just spice things up a bit. Make these podcasts a little bit more interesting. You know.

So I find out what my what my genetic makeup is. Could be fun. Could be funny.

Could be. Might not be. Okay.

So here we go. Okay. Right.

How much can I read out of all these different things? Today's weather. A mainly bright start with patchy clouds pushing in for most. Sunrises 7am.

Sets at 6.39. That's very specific. Wow. Soon next party.

Okay. Devoted to stew. Romantic Penny Lancaster turns the tables on crew and her husband Sir Rod Stewart by scenerading him with a song from the musical Grease.

He was so impressed by her rendition of Hopelessly Devoted to You that he gave 10,000 to the evening's cause. Okay. Cool.

I'm not sure if I've met her. She was. Did I meet him? I'm not sure.

She she was a universal. She was at college with my friend that I worked with who is and they were just both studying fashion I think. And she yeah she was dating Rod Stewart at the time.

And that's before they got married. So yeah she would have been in her 20s then. Uh yeah.

So they've been together a long time. Okay. That's that's pretty much it.

There's a headline about um P Diddy. I don't know. He's not really going to read that.

I think probably he's got an album coming out or something. Kyle Y Fury over Kyle. Anger at Kyle.

Look at that. You know the adverts are much better than the actual stories. Half price electricity.

Half price electricity every Sunday 11am till 4pm British gas. Now there's a there's a new well I don't know about new but there's this whole thing about a how you can hack. Uh which basically means find a shortcut or find a way to beat the system kind of.

And uh yeah in the old days hacking used to be breaking into people's computers or it you know that was hacking wasn't it. Now everything's a hack. How you can I can't think of anything offhand.

I see YouTube videos all the time with the titles. I don't usually watch them. But I did see this one.

No there's a man on the radio. It was a phoning show and he just just talking about the electricity and gas. Well the electricity raises rises.

And he said what he did is he had chargers. Not generators but yeah maybe generator. I think chargers.

And so like he would yeah he would charge them up with electricity during the quiet times. Like during the time when electricity was cheaper. And then when electricity was at its highest price.

So I guess in this case on a Sunday before 11 a.m. and after 4 p.m. he would put everything and attach it to the meter. The meter. To the charger.

Charger. What was it called? Electric. Yeah like a portable charger thing.

And he said he ran his tv off of it. He ran his lights. Not obviously his lights off on the ceiling but he had lights that he ran off of it.

He could run his electric cooker off of it. And his fridge and his freezer and all that stuff. So he had a few of these.

And he said it cut his bills down by a lot. Situation isn't. I don't know do they do they when you charge those things up do they stay charged forever? I don't know.

Okay doc. Recycle knowledge. Families of.

Again it's there's not a lot of positive stuff in there. Charles goes. With this swing.

On sale now. Strictly come dancing. Celebrating 20 years of the nation's favorite show.

20 years? 20 years? It's been going longer than 20 years. Longer than 20 years. I know it has because it was 2004 that I went to the Isle of Wight.

No the Isle of Man. With my family and my Nan. And we me and my Nan were left at home.

They all went to the pub. Because I didn't drink that year. And I stayed.

I just wanted to stay at home with her really. Stay at home with my Nan. And we ended up wrestling over the over the remote control.

Because I wanted to watch EastEnders. I wanted to watch Top of the Bops. She wanted to watch Strictly come dancing.

And I don't know why Top of the Pops. I think it must have been some kind of final or something. There was a week of finals or something.

I don't know. I didn't think it would not be on on a Thursday. Well we ended up having to have a wrestle.

And it was embarrassing to say the least. Well she enjoyed her program. And I went to the pub.

Plan worked for Jason. Phillip Schofield has singled out a trio of ex-colleagues at TV. A trio of ex-colleagues at TV blasted them as.

I woke up to that this morning. I was listening to the radio. And I was dreaming about Phillip Schofield.

And then I woke up. And he was actually talking. Because he's on some TV show or something.

And adopt a rescued animal. Star helps to make a minty to save a pub. He may not be a regular at the Queen Vic anymore.

But ex-EastEnders minty. He played minty. Cliff Parise joined a campaign to buy his local.

I just like him. I don't. He's not in there anymore I guess.

Oh yeah. I was going to check. Right.

Strictly Come Dancing. Strictly. Come.

Dancing. Strictly come. Really? So the show that she watched was the first year.

Wow. I know she loved it. But I didn't realise it was the first year.

So that we had an argument over. It was a first. And I wanted to watch Top of the Pops.

I really did. But you know we were both staying in someone else's house. It was her daughter's house.

My auntie's house. And I was sleeping in a room full of trains. Not like proper trains.

But her husband was a model train person. So there was like a huge big like train track. And I slept on the floor.

On a bed. A bed thing. Yeah.

It's always weird isn't it? Something's strange. There's a certain feeling. There's two feelings that I don't think can be matched.

I mean they're all different each time. But there's a certain familiarity to me for these feelings. One is sleeping in someone's house.

You know someone that may be. Well it's a different house to mine. A different place to where I live.

So someone. And by that I mean like maybe staying at my dad's. Or sleeping at my auntie's.

Or sleeping with my nan's. Or I'm trying to think. Or yeah just for all my uncles.

Different places over the years. There's something different about it. There's something quite nice.

Even though it's not really comfortable. Not in the way that being at home is. But it's something.

I don't know. It's yeah it's quite a nice feeling. I think.

Not. I mean it's a little bit different if it's sofa surfing. Which I've done a lot of over the years.

That's not such an enjoyable experience. But if it's just like a visit. Yeah it can be okay.

And the other feeling which I've had a lot of experience of is the first night living in a new place. Usually a room in a shared building. A shared house.

Just a room. With a shared bedroom. Shared.

Not shared. But shared bathroom. Shared kitchen.

Shared hallway. Shared front door. And I've done that so many times over the years.

And each time it's. Although it's different each time. It's also similar.

You know. It's there's that very. I haven't done it for over nine years now.

And some would argue that I am settled. I don't know. Not mentally but maybe physically settled.

It's yeah. What do you reckon my DNA makeup will be? I just find it fascinating. The reason I want to do it.

I've been wanting to do this stuff. It's not the only thing I want to do. Just to make the podcast a little bit.

I know it's supposed to be boring. But we all know that I'm super exciting. So you know it takes a lot to stay this.

I want to stay relevant. I want to keep everyone on their toes. And have people to look forward to.

So I'm going to look at other stuff that I can do. I'm not quite sure. What.

But let's have a look. What would it be called? Tests. Online.

Not online. Tests by post. I don't know what the.

POST. P O S T. At home tests and checks. Home blood testing.

So there's home blood testing. Test arrives in one to two days. 80% off sensitivity tests.

There's lots of them. Wow. It's so exciting.

I might just do all of them. Can you get STI tests for free? What's an STI? Is that? I don't know. Information and STI tests are free and available to everyone.

No matter your age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality. You may have to pay for prescriptions for treatment. Treatment for what? Transmitted.

Okay. It used to be STD. STI now.

So you're not saying this. Okay. I mean infections better than diseases.

Let's face it. It's a nicer. It's a gentler one.

At home tests and checks. Let's have a look. Medi checks.

This one. Allowable. Optimal health blood test.

Why blood testing? Quick, easy and reliable. Blood tests are quick and easy way to find answers about your health. Our tests allow you to test over 450 biomarkers to investigate your symptoms, monitor your condition, optimize your performance or simply get peace of mind.

How it works. Your personalized actionable health results are only a few clicks away. Audio test.

Now, I'm guessing from the looks of it, they're going to be expensive. So let's get started. Oh, is it going to be one of these ways to ask you lots and lots of questions? And eventually get your email address or your telephone number and then say that they'll call you is what I think it might be one of them.

So let's just say I'm male. General. Okay, let's go back.

See what it's what the options are. What are the options? Right. Let's have a look.

Find your test. Sign up to receive our latest news and offers. No.

Get started. Male, female, neither. Prefer not to say.

Okay, that's the choices. Male. General health check.

Hormones, thyroid, fertility, nutrition, fitness. Now, I don't think I've got any hormones left. Thyroid.

Do I have a thyroid? I don't know. Fertility. What do you mean fertility? I don't give birth.

Nutrition. Well, I already know what I'm eating. Fitness.

Super fit, super healthy. So yeah, I'm not sure which ones those are. So there's a general health check.

So let's have a look. This is what I move on to. Move on to the next one now because it's expensive.

Get detailed insights into your current and future well-being with our most comprehensive panel covering 58 biomarkers. The ultimate test for anyone. 249 pounds.

Wow. Health and lifestyle blood tests. Now, to be fair, I've already had that.

I just had blood tests and had kidneys and all that stuff checked. So probably don't need to be thinking about that. But I am interested in some of the other stuff.

So get started. What do you say if neither? We make sure you direct to the correct test. So if I put neither, we recommend you contact the customer service care team or using the form below.

We're always happy to help. So it won't let you go any further if you put neither. Get started and prefer not to say to make sure.

So they won't do it. They won't give you options if you do that as well. So why not just put them as an option? I don't know.

Hormones. I am experiencing low libido. They made me say that out in public.

I'm not experiencing a low libido. In fact, I could tell you. No, I'm experiencing low libido and or lack of muscle.

No, I feel I'm messing with my muscles. All right. For the age, you know, probably not for.

Well, if I was 70, I'm doing quite well. I'm experiencing lack of energy or low mood. Well, you know, I struggle to maintain.

Oh, oh, I stopped myself from saying that word. It take I take testosterone supplements, TRT. No.

Why would I want to take testosterone supplements? I wonder why. I don't know. I generally don't really know what the.

What they are, what they're for. And is that Viagra? I mean, I'm not I know I'm being ignorant, but I generally don't know what TRT is. Testosterone replacement therapy.

I do know what it is. Now, just because HRT hormone replacement therapy, so I'm guessing TRT is testosterone. Testosterone replacement therapy is a guess.

I'm experiencing malpattern baldness. None applied to me. I just want to.

I do. None applied to me. I just want a hormone replacement therapy.

I'm experiencing malpattern baldness. None applied to me. I just want a hormone replacement therapy.

None applied to me. I just want a hormone replacement therapy. Ultimate performance blood test.

Our ultimate blood test for men and women gives you our most comprehensive health check, including advanced profiles for your hormone health, thyroid function and whatever. Well, these look like they'd be some quite. Oh, OK.

Right. So this is ultimate performance test, male hormone blood tests. That's that works a little bit cheaper.

There's the testosterone blood test. So. I might do some of these over the coming months and years or ever just just for fun.

This one's twenty nine pounds. It's not like a super expensive one. Testosterone blood test.

Testosterone impacts everything from your mood to energy levels, muscle mass and. And. Drive, so I don't know.

That's not really something I need to worry about these days, to be honest. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to need need to do that again. I don't know.

Thyroid, I don't really know much about thyroid. Have you been done that? No. I experienced any of the following.

OK, so now they're advanced to well-manned blood test. Our advanced blood test means health provides detailed insights into diabetes risk. I've already had that done.

Liver health, cholesterol status, testosterone level. Stop going about testosterone. Advanced thyroid function.

Oh. OK, so that's individually. You can get them individually.

So sometimes it looks like it might be do it gradually over time. Thyroid stimulating hormone, TSH. Wow.

OK, I want to move on from this because that's too expensive. I've got no one thriver. Test arrives in one to two days.

Blood test packages. Personalized blood test, woman's hormone blood, men's health blood test, genital, I mean, general health blood test, thyroblast, PCOS. Fertility insight, menopause, ABO.

Uh. Uh. Uh.

Uh. Uh. Vitamin blood test.

Wow. They're all quite expensive though. I don't know.

I mean, I suppose maybe they would be expensive. It just seems like 80% of sensitivity tests. Oh, this is the one.

Sensitivity tests. Compare tests. Right.

Didn't it say just 80% off? But it's £89, now it's £49. That's not 80% off. Even I know that.

Blimey. They lied to me. Lied, my dear, they lied.

So, we test for, there's this test, what is it? Accessible Food Sensitivity Tests. Call the answers that you've been looking for. I get the answers you've been looking for.

We test for food, gluten, lactose, gut health and more. No, click on that, nothing. Compare Tests.

Body Intolerance Tests. 1,200 items tested. This is the most advanced one.

Food and drink, non-food, botanicals, metals, minerals, animals and insects. Vitamins, vitamins, additives, gut health, digestion, anti-ageing, sleep hormones, skin health, stress and inflation, nutrition. Complete Food Sensitivity, the best seller.

So, these are quite cheap, actually. Essential Senses, the very basic one. So, that's interesting.

Zoe at Home Test. So, I don't know what that is. Zoe.com. Let's check this one.

What's this got to do with the newspapers, though? Shush, Finny. Oh, I'm clicking on Zoe, but, oh, it is coming. It's just going very, very, very slow.

How does Zoe actually work? Just complete your test. Nope. What tests are available in the post? A post checks several things, including the CPU and RAM, inputs, the motherboard.

Health test by post. I'm more interested in, like, DNA. Okay.

No. There's a lot of STI. Medichecks, private blood tests.

I've got a test coming through, actually. I've got a letter here, yesterday, from the NHS, telling me that they were sending me a home test for, oh, what's it called? Bowel, to have a bowel test. And they said, normally they do it for people over 60, but they're now offering a test for people younger than 60, and I'm one of the first people to be offered, which worries me a little bit.

I'm just thinking, because I've just had a medical, I'm like, oh. Thrive, a home blood test of my health. Check your health.

Discreet delivery to your door. Again, it's weird, but I want to find out, like, more kind of DNA stuff. That's just what interests me.

More than STI. I don't need to get an STI test. I mean, blimey.

DNA. What other things? DNA. Brain scan.

Brain testing by post. Pre and post task resting. Huh? What causes brain failure? Brain states carry over post-positive ideas.

Your brain needs more rest than you're giving it. My brain does not need more rest than I'm giving it. My brain gets a lot of rest.

So, it's interesting. I'll look more into that. So, back to the papers.

Oh, another book. First into action again. Duncan Fulkner.

Snappy days on Brassic. We're here. Okay.

What's that? Yeah. Who's this? Gigi Hadid. Who she really is.

The whole package at Paris fashion week. Yeah. Fashion.

I don't know the first thing about fashion, do I? It's really, yeah. Scientologists had their eyes on Adele's Mansion. Never mind chasing pavements.

Oh, that was a good little. I mean, how many people actually remember that song? I do. That was the first song that I really liked of Adele.

And, gosh, ages ago. Really liked that. Chasing pavements.

Hello, are you chasing pavements? I wish you well, even though you're my ex-boyfriend and you're getting married to someone else. Oh, I so really wish you well. Chasing pavements.

I can't remember how it went. Members of the mysterious religious group which counts Tom Cruise and John Travolta. H.E.I. Oh, blimey.

Comic Adam Carr reveals his superstar power brushed off offers from their country pothole. I don't know what that's all about. Jail pieces.

Trend it like the Beckhams. Wow, that's really weird. David Beckham is sitting down.

It's 49 and he's got all three adults. Well, okay, the three big kids. Both the adults.

Both boys are adults. Or the males. 22 and 19.

The one on the right hand side. He don't half look like him. He does, you know.

He looks like he's got the glasses, the shades. He looks a bit like his dad. Which is sometimes the way, isn't it? I took after my mum.

Family's ain't to meet. Hence the beard. So far though, his first pageant.

And I'm to wear a bra. Box says, Doc says, these things happen. I don't know, Peter.

Walking over. Blimey, just give me something I could read. Please.

Historic band. Does this man know this secret to eternal youth? Why? It's a huge buzzword in health, with fans claiming it can boost longevity while improving physical and mental fitness. But what is biohacking? See, that's not hacking.

That's what I was trying to point out earlier. Biohacking is another one. And who can benefit from it? Tim Gray, one of the UK's leading experts, experts, explains everything you need to know.

He's 45. Let's have a look. How old does he look? Yeah, he could pull 45 off.

He looks healthy, but you kind of need to if you're going to do that, don't you? You don't want someone to imagine getting a book on, you know, a diet book and you see me on the front cover with my big belly literally flopping out of the book in 3D or something. You know, it wouldn't work, would it? In fact, you'd have to have a bigger cover just to fit my belly in and it wouldn't be enough room for any other books in the bookshop.

Optimise light exposure.

Sleep for seven to nine hours. Good diet and hydration. Get moving.

Find like-minded people. Lower stress levels. Check your oral health.

Have some fun. Well, yeah, that goes back to the STIs, doesn't it? Biohackers believe health starts in the mouth. Try oil pulling.

What? Oil pulling. Swirling coconut oil around your mouth for 10 minutes and scraping your tongue to support a healthy oral microbiome. Optimising your oral microbiome will also help prevent decay.

Swirling coconut oil. I wouldn't even know where you'd get coconut oil from. Yeah, I know a coconut, but I don't, I mean, it's not like they grow on trees, is it? Okay, I know they grow on trees, but not around here.

Not around here. It's quite weird actually being somewhere where coconuts grow on trees. And there's stalls selling them, you know, drilling a hole in so you can have a straw and drink out of it.

And I'll be honest with you, I would drink coconut milk. I would. However, however, and this is a, this is quite a big however, capital letters, however, I would need to empty it from the coconut into a glass and make sure there was nothing inside.

That it's just, I'm not saying that there'd be, you know, a kangaroo could hide in there. I'm in there because it just, yeah, that's just me. Oh, he's such a bragger, this bloke.

Okay. Tim's routine. A day in the life of a biohacker.

This is him talking. I typically wake up around 7am without an alarm. Yeah, I don't need an alarm, me.

Showing off straight away. Ah, who doesn't need an alarm? Because I've biohacked my alarm clock, my inner alarm clock. And it means that I can just wake up when I choose to wake up.

Because I'm in tune with myself. And then he goes on. Maintaining a consistent sleep pattern, going to bed and getting up at the same time every day.

Well, how can you go to bed and get up at the same time? You'd never get any sleep, would you? See, that's his problem straight away. He's not thinking before he talks. It's a, it's a great for aligning your circadian rhythm and your internal body clock, which can, it can lead to improved sleep quality.

Now I'm not mocking him. But obviously I am. But I'm not not really.

Because you know, sleep is very important. I know. It's just I struggle when people start talking about circadian rhythms.

And I just, I don't know, I've, I think it's because I've read so many books, so many self help books, and listened to just honestly, hundreds of things. And I, it just, yeah, especially words like what was the word I just read earlier, about the, I can't remember, oral health, that's it, yeah. Microbiome.

Microbiome, I don't. And how many people read that? And they don't even like, I'm just gonna take their word for it. How many people are gonna read it and know what a microbiome is? Because I don't.

If every day, the first thing I do is drink some reverse osmosis. Oh my goodness. Okay, here we go.

Every day, the first thing I do is drink some reverse osmosis water with added minerals and electrolytes for optimal hydration. I have a glass of water. I reckon that was probably his, the thing he first put is that, yeah, I'll wake up and have a glass of water.

And maybe his publisher said, yes, not, it's not juicy enough. It's not, not exciting enough. Not sexy enough.

Can you just make it a bit more dramatic? Oh, dear. Oh, oh, anyway. Next, I have a shower and finish with tubing.

It doesn't do anything normal. Not one thing is gonna be a normal way of doing it. Okay.

It's because you can't sell a book. Otherwise, you're selling a book or course or whatever it is. I don't know.

But it has to be something different. Okay. Next, I have a shower and finish in two minutes of cold water.

Mentally, it's sometimes tough. But there's so many benefits to it. Think improved blood flow and fat burning.

That is now an integral part of my morning routine. That was a weird way of putting a sentence together. But there are so many benefits to it.

Dash think improved blood flow and fat burning dash that it's now it's like, oh, it works just quite an unusual way. Maybe it's not maybe it's just my lack of breeding. I haven't done much breeding for a long time.

Okay, my morning coffee is delayed. Is that the way the way makes it makes it delayed? Is it a special technique? Special technique and biohackers technique? Yeah. You said you have a just one more thing.

You said you have a coffee? Yeah. That sounds a bit boring. Just saying your coffee.

Can't you like word it in a different way? I had a drunk a coffee? No, no. I don't mean to sound condescending. But how about use more words? Do you know any more words? Do you know any other words? Oh, come on, you must know some words.

Come on. Come on. Is it is coffee? What other words? Let's do a word association game.

Coffee. Drinky? No, not drinky. Coffee.

I'll do another one. Coffee. Cup.

Cup. Cup. Yes.

I got it. I got it. Yeah.

Do I win anything? No, you don't win anything. And what other words you got coffee? What goes with it? Milk? Yes, I suppose. Do you have milk in your coffee? No, you don't.

Well, I might do. What do you mean you might do? Well, I haven't read the rest of the sentence yet. It might actually say that I don't have coffee.

I don't have milk in my coffee. So if I say now that I do have milk in my coffee, then when I read the rest of it out on the podcast, it might just be contradicting myself. What? Yeah, that makes sense to me.

Don't worry. OK. We just we just need to just.

And. It just needs to be a bit more flowery with the words, a bit more creative, a bit more artistic. OK.

My parents did try and get me tested once for that. No, artistic. Oh, OK.

All right. Anyway. So what about this then? My morning coffee is delayed to prevent.

I can't read this. My morning coffee is delayed to prevent a cortisol spike. What the hell? Sorry, everyone.

I didn't realise I was going to laugh. This is made me laugh. Can you imagine going into a coffee shop, asking for a coffee? How do you like it? I'd like it delayed.

Do you have any delayed coffee? What is delayed, sir? Well, it's a way it makes by means that you prevent cortisol spike. What? A cortisol spike? What's a cortisol spike? It's a spike from cortisol. OK, so here's a rest.

And when I do drink it, I take it black with added collagen. Of course you do. Of course you do.

Yep. You take it black, but you have something else in it that no one's ever heard of. Collagen.

Isn't that what you have? Collagen. Isn't that what they put in people's? Collagen. Collagen.

Isn't that like a plastic surgeon thing? Collagen. You put it into your eyebrows and stuff. Cheekbones and I don't know.

Yeah. Yeah. So this is my morning coffee is delayed to prevent a cortisol spike.

And when I do drink it, I take it black with added collagen, which is good for repairing the gut lining. Well, it's I mean, I can't I'm good for the benefits. It's just wow.

And I might start doing some of this stuff. This is the only look at it from a perspective of a very plain person like myself. And the language is this weird.

OK. When I'm not traveling, my weekdays are usually spent working from home or meetings in London. OK, so far, so normal.

When at home. OK, sorry, I'm expecting something silly to come up now. When at home, I make sure to move constantly.

I know this is important. You do need to keep moving. When I'm at home, I make sure I move constantly throughout the day.

This means using a standing desk. Having dumbbells and kettlebells near my workstation and jumping on my rebounder mini trampoline for 10 minutes every few hours. OK.

Do you ever think that maybe he works from home because he's he was forced to work from home because no office manager would let him in? Imagine getting someone to let someone start working in an office and have a delivery van turn up. What mate, where do you want a trampoline? Where do you want the dumbbells, the barbells? Where do you want the standing desk? Where do you want a quarter sole?

Right. He just.

Yeah, it is. You know, also the pretentiousness. Imagine the people delivering stuff to his workplace.

You know, he's going to get sacked because he wouldn't be allowed to have all that stuff there. But then he'd say to the work people, would you like some reverse cosmos osmosis water with added minerals and electrolytes for optimum hydration? No, thanks, mate. I'll just have a glass of water.

And it says here, well, when I can, I know this is when I'm not traveling, when I'm not traveling the world. See, I think it's lovely. I just I just find this.

I don't know why I find it funny. I just do when I'm not traveling. When I can, I take walking meetings.

I've got to turn everything into. I understand. Keep busy.

Trust me. Walking around. I've got weights every time I go out and take Vinnie out.

I do some weight training every time. And it's just something I do, and it is good to move around. I'm not mocking that.

I just it's the kind of the wording, I think it's almost I've met people like this and nothing straightforward. It's I don't know, it's just funny. I've been around a lot of over the years, not not recently, but in the past, especially in my 30s, I was around a lot of people that are into like Reiki and spiritual stuff.

And sometimes it wasn't always easy to communicate with them sometimes because they were somewhere else. It's like they were, you know, I actually had a little friend and he was a good, you know, really liked him. And he he started his own pretty much his own religion.

And as far as I know, he's living on an island. Somewhere, teaching people. So I haven't had much contact with him for a long time.

But we still occasionally drop a note to each other. And he'll always be my friend, you know, forever, because, you know, after living with someone for three years, there's a connection there. You know, I know it's it's different.

I mean, I've lived with people for three years, and then they've evicted me, then, then that kind of ends that friendship. But he was just renting a place, renting a room, and I was renting a room, but it was in a Buddhist community. So to me, it was deeper than just living with people.

We used to eat with each other and yeah, got to know each other a bit more. Anyway, when I can, I take walking meetings, and do three longer structured strength sessions per week at the gym with a personal trainer. So he goes to the gym, just like I go to the gym, three times a week.

But no, it's very flowery. Maybe that's what it needs to be. Straightforward is can be quite hard for some people, I think to something that's simple, because it seems to be that the more complicated and is convoluted the right word, something is, the more trust we might have in it.

Maybe it's, maybe that's why doctors and surgeons and while we can have trust in those people, because they can do something that we don't say we, the majority of the population, both don't know how to do, not to say can't do because you know, millions of people could learn to do it. I'm not one of them billions of people, but the average person could not just go and do a hip replacement.

But there will be a few people out there that know everything about hip replacements, everything, and studied videos, read books on how to do it.

And literally are actual experts on it, but have never actually done a hip replacement. And if they were in that position, they may well be able to do it. You may argue with that.

I don't care. I know I'm right. I might not be.

It doesn't matter. I don't care. For example, I know a lot about what do I know a lot about? I could be right.

I could be a boxing commentator. I could be. It's the one sport I know a lot about.

And I don't know all the boxes. Nobody knows all of it, you know, it'd be you'd need a book with all the names in and pictures of them to keep track of who's who, because there's so many boxes, which has given me a bit of an idea. But I don't know all the boxes names, but I do know pretty much most of the top ones and have followed it for decades.

So I could be a boxing commentator. Maybe not as good as the ones that currently do it, but I could. You could definitely stick me in front of a microphone at a boxing match, especially a big one like the one at the weekend a couple of weeks ago, Anthony Joshua.

I could have talked through that. Told you what was happening. Told you all the gossip that had been going on before the fight.

Told you about their stats and who they'd fought and who they'd won, who's won against who and possible future fights. All that stuff, you know, it's all it's all in my head. Somewhere, somewhere.

Okay, what's the next thing? So I am technically reading the papers because this isn't a paper. It's just like lifestyle section, walking meetings. I don't know.

It just, I understand the idea of. See, I've known people like that, that can't sit still. And they're not usually the most relaxed people.

Now I'm, you could say, pretty calm a lot of the time. And I do. Yeah, the idea of walking fast talking and yeah, I don't know.

Just not really for me. Oh, look. I intermittently fast each day.

Wow. This is a big one, actually, because I've got a friend who fasts. I'll fast.

I got it. I spelt it wrong. I thought it said fart.

I fart intermittently fart each day. Having my final meal. Having my final meal around six to 7pm.

And I mean, you know, if you if you're not eating till the evening, you're not gonna have much farting happening. But he fasts each day. Yeah.

Apparently all this is, this is the last bit. Nailing your evening routine is just as important as your morning routine. This includes finishing eating for hours before going to bed.

So the body's digestive process doesn't interrupt your sleep. I try to go to bed around 10pm, which means finishing eating around 6pm. We can work it out.

We can work that out. Even I can work that out. As has limiting screen time an hour before bed to let my body work.

That is something that is most books and stuff recommend for sleeping is to do is to kind of turn off your screen before going to bed. I mean my, I'm not saying the benefit, but I don't need to go to sleep when I go to bed. So I could, if I was to an audio book, I'm happy to listen to it for an hour.

There's no part of me thinking, oh, why haven't I gone to sleep yet? Because I don't care. But I understand that some people need to get to sleep at a certain time and all that. Resolve to end year, focus management.

What have I got here? I was talking money. Hey, big splendor. Nigel Thompson sees the damn fine delights of Portugal on a cruise along the river Juro.

Next. Okay. Oh, I do.

I would quite like to do a cruise. I would. Megatropolis.

Some dreams come at a price. In the case of writer, director Francis Ford Coppola's philosophical passion project, which dates back more than 40 years to a golden period. After the back to back critical successes of the Godfather.

Part two and apocalypse. Now the price tag that price tag is 120 million. Oh, it's about, it's about a movie.

Wolf's shot a location on Apple TV plus blurred vision cinemas. My old ass in cinemas. Never let go in cinema.

One man's fight for the girls of Brazil's one before the night comes. Matt Roper. Winter wildlife.

Winter's Wilderness. His name is actually Stuart Winter. Good at playing.

Gloves at first clove at first sight. That's about growing stuff. Concern over.

Okay. 18 volt cordless patio cleaner with two point AH battery starter kit. Spotless patios in minutes with complete cordless convenience.

Why am I reading this? Spotless patios. Ah, I know why. Yeah, it's because it's in front of me.

That's why. Yeah, I've got nowhere to store stuff like that or any reason to have one. So let's have a look.

What else is on here? Anything else? Anything else? Any boxing on a sports? Nope. Nope. Nope.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

No boxing. No boxing. No boxing.

Which means it's pointless looking at sports. There's no boxing. Nope, nothing.

Unless I'm skipping through it, but there's a lot of pages. There's a thing about Dame Joan Collins. I didn't know she was still around.

She's 91. Blimey. And she's 91.

Joan 1960. Blimey, she did look different. We all look different in 1960.

91. Isn't it weird that some some people are just because this I was looking at Bill Wyman earlier. I haven't got him in a cupboard.

He's 87. I think. How? How? I mean, honestly, how? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Mick Jagger. He's got to be in a similar kind of thing. He's younger though.

Can't be Mick Jagger. Mick Jagger, 81 years old. Ridiculous.

I mean, how can it be 81? And the weird thing is, I mean, it's an obvious thing to say. He don't look 81. I've never in my life, in my life, I mean, during this lifetime, ever seen an 81 year old person that looks anything like Mick Jagger.

And you could argue, but you've seen Mick Jagger, and he's 81. I haven't seen him ever. I don't.

I mean, in in reality, I suppose if you. I mean, is that his real hair? Is that his real hair? He's still got loads of hair. He's, it's just good, good on him.

Honestly, I mean, I don't know. It's just wow. Some people just they've just got the genetics clearly got the genes.

But other people, it's never, never seem to, I wouldn't say never seem to die. I mean, never seem to really. My dad's 78, 78.

He was born 46, 1946. So he's 78 now. He'll be 79 next year.

And I just, I like my dad's hair. He's got white hair. It's not gray.

It's white like snow. I don't I don't fancy him. I'm just telling you that I've got he's got really nice hair.

You keep going about your dad's beard and about your dad's hair. Yeah, because I'm jealous. Because he's got more hair than me.

He's not, he's not gone bald at all. He's because he's got white hair, you can see a bit of his scalp a little bit. So he has his hair back.

And, you know, it's, it's probably not as thick as it used to be when he was like in his 30s. But he ain't bald. I've got a bald patch on the back of my on the is it the crown? There's a there's still hair on there.

But it's like, okay. If the whole of the top of my head, like that, if I put a bowl in my head, right. And drew a line around that bowl.

And all that area was exactly the same as the bald patch on the crown of my head. Right? You if you as a friend, you would advise me to shave it. I'm just that's what I'm saying.

If the whole of my hair, because you know, some people hold on to their hair, don't they? They like hold on to every follicle. Like it's, you know, lost treasure or something. Like a magic Willie, I don't know, just like, they won't.

And because I'm not, I'm semi in that situation. I'm kind of in the middle. So I got a friend who's got much hair left.

But he holds on to it. And he doesn't shave the it's like loose hairs, and they're long, but he keeps them. And it's up to him to do that.

But I'm thinking I might be like that. Why? The weird thing years ago, like I'm talking, the first time I shaved my head was 2003. Yeah, 2003 shave my head completely.

And in my mind, I was always I was already receding at the front. You know, these little islands of hair, moving further and further away from each other, it's just got a little bit. And it's more noticeable when my hair gets longer.

It's kind of weird, weird thing. And I go to shoot out in different areas, different directions. And I thought, I'll shave it off.

I was going through my kind of Buddhists the period as well, which, but to be fair, did last for a decade, but well, longer than a decade. But I kind of I don't know, I just wanted to shave my head. So I did.

And I had a routine every Sunday. And it wasn't like shaved to the bone, but it was using clippers. So it's pretty much all was all gone, but a little bit of stubble, you know, on the top.

And I do that every Sunday, whilst watching Smallville on TV. Sunday afternoon at four o'clock or whatever. So I let it grow during the week and then it was gone by the weekend.

You know, by the time I went back to work on Monday. And then I can't remember when I did it. When did I do it? Hmm.

I started shaving my head. Like shaving with an actual shaver. Yeah, like shaver, shaver.

So it's to the bone. And I was doing that. I did that every week.

And I started doing that. It's been ages since I've done that. Just trying to think, I know I did it definitely in, this is embarrassing.

I did it in 2007, just before Christmas. Because I actually used a razor and I didn't have anything. Actually, I had hair and I used a razor to gradually cut the hair off.

So that's not the best way to do it, to be fair. But my hair was just messy and it was annoying me. Then I, so I was doing it before that, because it wasn't the first time I'd done that.

So I must have been doing it when I was living in a Buddhist community. So probably, yeah, 2005, 2006, 2007. So maybe I started shaving it to the bone.

It might have been 2003. It might have been, it's possible. Maybe 2004.

Early doors, you know, early in the year. Hmm. Oh well.

So, why am I talking about shaving my head? Anyone? Nope. No idea. There must be a reason why I was talking about shaving my head.

What's that? Summer loving, had me a blast. I'll never marry, so I threw myself a £100,000 party. What? When Vicky Chadwick turned 50, she had the party of her dreams to celebrate herself.

And why not? She chose a masked ball thing. Yeah, but what about the women? Were they? Oh, okay. Sorry, I misunderstood.

So, they dress, they all wear masks on their faces. Okay. Standing on the stage beside my five-tiered cake, I looked at my guests and felt a surge of happiness.

My hair and makeup were perfect. My dress fitted like a glove. Why, that's a weird expression, isn't it? My dress fitted like a glove.

Yes, because you're shaped like a hand. No, that's rude. Sorry, she's not, she's lovely.

I loved 15 months of planning and cost £100,000, but it was worth it. The evening was perfect for one evening. £100,000 for one evening.

So, clearly she's wealthy, because otherwise you couldn't. What? She said, over the years I've saved money in various funds and I knew I could afford to spend £100,000. I know it's a lot to spend in one day, but then again, brides can easily spend that and more.

So, it didn't feel excessive. Is that true? I mean, outside of tycoons and extremely wealthy people, but the average person, £100,000 for a wedding. Well, for a party, because it wasn't a wedding, was it? It was like the equivalent to a wedding.

£100,000? I think he's dreaming. I wonder what he's dreaming about. I won't wake him up.

The other day I woke him up and he was like, yeah, what are you waking me up for? Leave me alone. Well, good for her. I mean, it's her money, do what she wants, can't she? But, I hope she saved more than £2 in the bank after that.

Wow, okay, these true crime things. I know they're popular, but I don't like them. At least the kettle boiled before the power went out.

A night to remember. A short story by M. A. Kazniar. Okay.

You know, I had a short story. I used to write short stories. Maybe I should go back to doing it.

Oh, there's a picture of a chocolate cake. Oh, I wish I'm Nadia Hussein. Oh, this cake.

Nadia, stop teasing me with your chocolate cakes. It's saying how to cook it. I don't want to cook it, I just want to know how to eat it.

Oh, moving on. Butternut squash tart. Banana and sugar drop donuts.

Oh, man. Oh, my sugar levels are honestly being affected just by looking at pictures, I think. Oh, the benefits of saying no.

That is something I struggled with in the past, saying no to people. I was such a hussy when I was younger. You know, I think some people kind of know who struggles to say no, no as in KNO and no as in NO.

They can like pick people, like all that person struggles to say no, I will ask them for stuff. And I'm one of those people that I have struggled to say no. The years and years and years.

Yeah. This is more talking about taking care of yourself emotionally. And I agree with everything I've just seen.

So I don't want to read it out, but I do agree with that. Jilly Cooper industry. Wow, this is a big old paper and I wonder it's so expensive.

Hightown. Emma Willis. Picture of Emma Willis.

Oh, it's the crossword. No. Spot the difference.

This is easy. Spot the six differences. Different color hair.

Different writing on these things. That's two. There's a woman holding up a phone.

It's got a different phone. So it's three. How many is there? Six all together.

Three. Do do do do do do. Right.

Okay. Nicely done now. See, I think his eyebrows look a different color, but it might just be because of the color of the hair.

Oh, in the second one, he's wearing a cowboy hat. He's holding a lightsaber. I didn't notice that.

I can't see. Anything else different? I used to be really good with these, but I think when I was older, I was younger rather. I had more time for stuff like this.

You know, when I was like eight, nine, 10, doing these spot the differences. I didn't feel myself aging when I was doing them. Now I was like, no, I can't see any.

It might just be a visual thing. I don't blame my glasses. Oh, he's sitting in a tractor in the second picture.

Okay. Blimey. So in the first picture, he's just standing up.

And his photograph taken. The second one is on a tractor. I mean, it's hard to notice these things.

I stomach. Okay, I'll move away from that. I love these.

Oh, word search. Easy. All but one of these words that can go after down can be found in the grid.

Go after down. What? All but one of these words that can go after down can be found in the grid. All but one of these words.

That's not a word search. If there's that. If one's not available, that's not fair.

Beats. I can do that straight away. Where's down though?
