Honestly, me and him have both had a very lazy day today. And some would argue I have a lazy day every day, but it's been raining outside. There's hasn't been so much noise, you know, kids or people in the garden screaming or anything like that.

So there's no no one's got their windows open and blaring out music. So Vinnie's hasn't had those distractions. He's been very calm today, which is nice.

I say that now because he'll probably start barking in a minute. There's just been a nice little break from it all if you know what I mean. Nice, especially as I was technically up most of the night with the election.

Elect E L action. It was the British, UK, English, Welsh, Scottish, I don't know, whatever area election it was. And we have a new government or we will have tomorrow.

We've got a new prime minister today. It's Sir Sir Keir Starmer. So that's interesting, kind of for people that live here.

I would say, though, for those listening around the world, well, I say political leaders, for any political leaders listening to this, which is unlikely any political leaders from around the world listening to this. Have a little listen to our prime minister. No, have a little list.

Yeah, have a have a listen to whatever his name was, the prime minister before his because he lost obviously lost his job. This morning, early hours of the morning. He was so humble, so humble with his words, you know, saying he supported supported the new prime minister and all that stuff.

So it's like there's no, no division, nothing like that. No trying to get people against each other. No drama, just the English way.

Nice and calm and trying, you know, being all relaxed and chilled out in front of the camera. Then get home and be angry there. It's probably drunk four bottles of whiskey by now.

But there's a class, there's a degree of class in that I don't know if I could be that classy, to be honest. But then, you know, one of the things is if you if you've been a prime minister in this country, I don't know what it's like anywhere else. As soon as you stop, you know, as soon as you finish, whoever, I mean, there is a what's her name, Liz truss, who was a prime minister for about six weeks.

And retirements for x pms. Okay, so let's have a look. Right.

So Liz truss, she was only a prime minister for a few weeks, six weeks or something. She's eligible for 129,000 pounds annual allowance for the rest of her life. Always says here up to 150 is that was that dollars are okay.

So 115,000 pounds a year for all former prime ministers. And if she remains active in public life, she can receive money to assist her in carrying out public duties. She also gets police protection forever, because she's former prime minister.

So she'd be a target, wouldn't she, I guess. Also, apparently, the lecture circuit, I don't really know what that is. Circuit.

Well, I guess it's a circuit where people do lectures. I can't figure that one out. But for prices, what support do they get there? And do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do she was Prime Minister for 49 days.

Theresa May, apparently she earns a million million pounds within a few months or whatever, a year or ever earning money on the lucrative career, the lucrative speech circuit. Wow. So she did three different addresses, so three different lectures, and she got paid 100 grand.

So got paid 100 grand for just three talks. Blimey. And they usually write a book as well, which also gives them quite a bit of money.

Apparently, she earned 136,000 in September for a speech in Seoul. Right, okay, so they get to get offers from around the world to go and talk. And they get paid huge amounts of money.

So in some ways, being an ex Prime Minister is more lucrative than being a current Prime Minister for the amount of money they can make. So yeah, it's quite amazing, really. And then what happened? Let's have a look.

I'm not going to get all political, but what is his name? The he was like the Facebook, he now works for Facebook. UK PM. What's his name? He was like a semi, he wasn't the actual Prime Minister, but he was like the assistant, because it was a they call it.

So Prime Minister, UK Prime Minister, 90 2010 2010 2010. Which is a little swear then people slamming their doors downstairs and Vinnie's barking. Ah, so yeah, Nick Clegg.

He was the Deputy Prime Minister for five years to 2010 to 2015. And afterwards, he got a job. Why is he not saying what he does now? That's interesting.

It works for Facebook anyway. I wonder how much he gets paid for Facebook? Why am I mentioning it on his? That's weird. I'll mention it on his thingy.

So Nick, like I'm just interested. Don't know why Nick Clegg salary. So I'm wondering what Facebook I wonder what they pay him.

It's quite a it's one of the biggest companies in the world, isn't it? Facebook? Why is the internet going so slow? Anyone? Anyone got any idea? I'd like to know. I really would like to know. I wonder if anyone's tapped into my, or it might be the weather mightn't it? Because I've got my internet is what's it called? Like digital, mobile, whatever.

So if the weather is really bad, I guess I can affect the connection. Perhaps. Right.

I've been working on my website. It's just a slog. Still doing it.

But blimey, Nick Clegg will now now paid up to 15 million a year. No way. 15 million a year.

Wow. Is that his salary is 2.7 million. So and he gets a bonus.

So basically, probably wouldn't have got that job had he not been had his position in the UK government. Which makes you wonder what did he do? What did he do while he was in government? To then warrant getting a job with Facebook? I wonder. It is interesting.

So the politicians, they'll they leave their jobs as a politician and they go and they get a job in a like an executive position for an oil company, a company that's clearly benefited from them in some way while they were in office. And they get an executive position where they're getting paid a lot of money, but they don't actually do anything. You'd think they'd look into it, wouldn't you?

Hmm.

So here we go. I've got some questions. Q&A Friday.

Let's get on with it. Hey, let's get on with it. Don't actually necessarily remember all of the questions I got.

I didn't write them down. I've got them. I should have them in front of me.

But they might be spread out a little bit of not being quite as organized as this year and this year this week. How many have I got? Let's have a look. So I was quite surprised because I organized my Q&A Fridays into a playlist or in a podcast, a separate podcast, which is on my website.

So it's just under Q&A Friday on jasonnewland.com. And there are 13 weeks. This is the 14th week. It's ridiculous.

I can't believe it's... Do you remember a couple of weeks ago I was saying, well, we've done four weeks. Well, now this is the 14th week. And it don't make sense to me.

It don't. So just have a quick look all the way down. It's going down.

Q&A Friday. Q&A Friday. Two, one, one, one.

Anyway, so here we go. So the very first Q&A Friday was on about 10th of April, May, June, July, I suppose. Yeah, it's three months, isn't it? Nearly.

It's the 5th of July right now. So just looking through the... Nope, can't see anything there. I did save the ones that... Because there's a contact form on my website.

So I got three things sent. In fact, one of them was me. So that's not really relevant.

Because you won't want to... You won't want to hear what I posted. It was just me being messing around just to check if it worked. I'm going to make it a bit more user friendly, I think.

So Lynn is the first question I've got. So here we go. Lynn, thank you for your question.

What motivates you to do the sleep podcasts? How do you get back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night? Right, so there's two questions. What motivates me to do the sleep podcasts? It's, I think, just because I've got, I guess, probably not the most exciting voice when I talk. I can be animated at times.

But, you know, just generally my regular voice is perhaps, maybe it's a little bit monotone. I don't know. A little bit boring, soft.

I might think it's just gentle, quite soft. I tell you what, really, the real answer to that is that's what people asked for. I didn't start off, I mean, I did.

I did start off doing a sleep recording back in 2006. I did a relaxation, a sleep recording and a chronic pain recording. And I think I might have done videos and I put them on to MySpace.

So it was, I tried to, I'll be honest, I don't like to be honest, but I was hoping that it was the chronic pain stuff would be what most people would like. That's what I was hoping. That's what I really wanted to specialize in.

Didn't work out that way. But that was the thing that I was personally interested in. And the more pain relief recordings I did, the more people asking for sleep ones.

Can you do another sleep one? I love the sleep ones. Can you do more sleep ones? So the sleep podcasts have always been more popular than anything else that I've done. Pretty much the whole time, the whole over 18 years of doing this, the sleep stuff has been the most, the most listened to.

I don't want to say popular, but the most listened to and or the most asked or requested back then. And because I kind of came to, I came to the conclusion like 2006 relaxation reduces chronic pain. That was, I used to have that tagline on my website back then.

And that's what I realized when I was seeing people in person that sometimes it didn't really necessarily require me to focus on any kind of exercise, you know, visual exercise, or even suggesting that their, that part of their body that was problematic would, you know, almost laugh. Like that part of the body be like ice melting in the sun as an example, you know, so they'd feel more relief.

It, it kind of dawned on me that the more relaxed people became, the less physical discomfort they would feel.

And then I also started to realize that, let's say for example, for myself, I got lower back, my left side of my back, I've got arthritis and sometimes focusing just on the left side, on that part of my back straight away to sort of try and relax it. I can do it. But it's sometimes a bit easier to let it happen organically to help it just naturally.

So with a general relaxation, you know, starting forehead eyes, like a body scan relaxation, full body relaxation and it's almost like the different parts of your body take what it needs. So for example, if someone's got like a shoulder, iffy shoulder, I've had, I used to have a lot of problems with my right shoulder, still do a little bit, but it was very, I injured it quite badly many, many years ago.

And I say badly, I was basically hit it on a shelf.

So it wasn't anything, anything dramatic or exciting. I'm not gonna be writing a book about it, or a poem. But I remember the exact conversation I was having.

It was in 19 probably, to be fair, it might be 94, not 94, 2004. I think it was probably beginning of 2000. No, it was beginning of 2005.

I'm talking about 2005. Probably about, I don't know, May, it was in the summertime. And we were just talking because I had a bit of a difficult conversation with a number, another member of the community, because I was living in a Buddhist community.

So I'm talking to this, one of the people that lived there. And he kind of gave me a different perspective, like, okay, I was saying all this stuff. And he said, Why don't you shut up? I said, Oh, okay.

And I stood up, because I didn't really know my bearings. I wasn't used to all the layout of the house. And I've had a few accidents over the years, unfortunately.

I stood up, and I banged my shoulder on this shelf, just a random shelf was even there, but at a corner, like, it wasn't sharp enough to open an envelope. But it was definitely you know, it was sharp, it was like it edged, if that makes sense. And it went right in my shoulder.

And it caused me a lot of problems for quite a few years, actually, I ended up having two steroid injections, and I was on pain medication. And they said I needed an operation and because the gristle had grown, whatever the nerve endings are rubbing on each other and stuff. So anyway, I don't know why I'm talking about my shoulder has to be about what comes back to me, doesn't it?

I should change this to let me bore you with my narcissism to sleep, maybe.

So all talk about narcissists. What is the month now July, August, by next month, what next month, I think the 16th they told me, I should know if it's all is a I've got the green light to start my degree course in psychology, which starts in October. I'll know next month, because that's when the finances have been accepted.

So there's a cut off point. I think it's either the 13th, or the 16th in my memory of August, and they have to have it decided by then. So fingers crossed, I can start my degree, my new my second degree.

And I've been listening to a lot of well, I've been listening to audio books now and on psychology. And I'm really getting into it. It's very interesting.

I've always found it interesting. But knowing that, I'm just going to assume that I'm going to be doing the degree. So knowing that I, there's like a reason to be listening to the podcast on the podcast to the audio books.

There's more, what is he doing? He's looking for something. What are you doing? It's always up to something, honestly. Always up to something.

It's been he's been trying to catch a fly for the last few hours. He loves it. It's just it's the chase.

You know what, what's new about him about Vinnie? There's a neighbor. That's I don't know if you saw the little video of the tent of Vinnie was in the tent. That's a neighbor.

And that was someone I've known since I moved in here. And my friend downstairs, he was best friends with the one of the family members. So I what's the point? Oh, yeah, he was around there a couple of weeks ago.

And he went for the cat. He didn't go for it. We chased the cat.

The cat told him off. Now, I don't quite know what happened. I heard it.

Didn't see it. Wasn't injured or anything like that. But he was scared.

Absolutely shaking. So he got told off. And now he will walk.

A cat can be sitting on the pavement, and he will walk past it inches away and he will just ignore it. Ever since then, was two weeks ago, doesn't go after cats anymore. Doesn't bother with them.

Isn't that weird? It's like he's learned straight away to and he already knew like cats that stand their ground and there's two that he's met that don't run from him. One's in a garden and it's known for being a hunter. And that cat ain't scared of nothing.

It's a black cat. And it just I feel he was barking and this cat just literally was laughing at him. And he didn't know what to do about that.

And then I think, was it last week or the week before? It was a cat and again, he didn't do anything. So I think he's Yeah, this was last week. So he was didn't do anything at all.

Vinnie, but this cat was like purring, had no fear of Vinnie, not scared at all about the dog, about any probably any dog. I mentioned this one, it's a different cat laying on its back. And I was like cuddling it a bit, you know, I mean, like stroking his tummy.

And he was like biting my finger gently and all that stuff. And Vinnie got a little bit too close and the cat hissed at him. Vinnie, all he was doing is just watching.

So what's going on? So Vinnie, maybe he's realized because he's not actually much bigger than a cat. I mean, in reality, if it came to it, the cat would come off much worse because he is quite his breed is quite a vicious breed. The old Jack Russells, they were bred for hunting.

Back in the day, back in the old day. So but he's very gentle. He snaps, he snaps at me growls at me sometimes.

But he's very gentle with everybody. Generally, so he's I like that's one of the things I like about him. Not so impressed with his farts because they're really smelly.

Like really and now he's just eating. Guaranteed he'll lay down, aim his bum at me and he'll just let a couple off. And I think it's just like his hobby.

I think so. Okay, so I went a little bit off key a little bit off target. What motivates you to do the sleep podcasts? Well, that's it really.

I went from there and I thought, well, relaxation equals chronic pain relief. And then a few years later, I realized that a sleep recording and a relaxation recording, recording and recording. It's no difference.

Because it's relaxation, deep relaxation will generally if if a person is ready to fall asleep, yet there's something stopping and maybe the mind's racing or whatever it might be. Once that person is physically relaxed, a relaxed body calms down the mind. A mind that's calming down relaxes the body and that's just a it just happens not nothing special that I do just that's just how it works.

It would be quite difficult I imagine to feel completely relaxed in your limbs and in your muscles and have a have anything but a slowed down mind. In the same way, it's how could you feel relaxed and have a mind going 1000 miles an hour and feel relaxed physically. I mean, it's possible, I guess, if it's a very positive situation, potentially, I guess.

But generally, in my experience, I find that I mean, I could argue there's not a lot going on in my mind anyway. It's not always the case. But I did notice when I started to learn to do meditation.

And they said, now we got to do is kind of slow down the thoughts. It's not all going to stop. You obviously you can't just stop all your thinking and quiet in your mind instantly.

Sometimes it takes years. And I sit there thinking, I've done it. Other than this thing that I'm thinking now, ain't nothing going on.

So maybe there never was much going on in my mind. Not all the time though. So I do have unless it's hidden.

So you know, as far as unconscious stuff? Well, maybe. But consciously, I'm just sitting here right now, looking at the wall, I can feel my feet on the floor, you know, I could feel my arms on the desk top. My hands are holding the laptop screen, the sides of the laptop screen.

Not quite sure why. I can hear Vinnie chomping away on his bone. I can hear the rain outside.

I can hear a plane in the sky in a distance. I'm feeling like I perhaps could eat something soon. I'm not really thinking about anything.

Considering I'm able to kind of hold a conversation. Not really. I'm not putting any effort into what I'm about to say next.

No, I'm not trying. It's not really and there's not a lot going on. So that's kind of and I know, I guess I'm repeating myself.

I probably said this before. But one of the reasons why I continue to do these recordings is whether it's this or whether it's some of the other stuff I do is it's nice to have variety, I think. You know, if you find a particular recording that really hits the spot for what you need it for, it does what it does the job for whatever it's you whatever you need to fall asleep and it's just like every time you listen to me talking in that particular recording you drift off.

Then maybe you don't need variety. Maybe that's the one to listen to. But then sometimes, sometimes it is nice to listen to something a bit different.

And I actually had this brings me to something I'll come to that later. But it's something that someone wrote as part of one of the questions as well. So that's what motivates me to do this sleep podcast.

I feel motivated when people let me know how I'm helping. Because I don't get a huge amount of feedback. I don't really ask for feedback very often.

This is one of those things, I think YouTube's more feedbacky. Feedbacky. People are more inclined because easier to leave a comment on Facebook on YouTube.

And you know, I get the occasional nice comment sometimes. But never never usually horrible but get mean these days I mean, but that's the one what did they put? Let me have a look. I had a comment.

I'm gonna read it here. What did it what did I say? Okay, this is for this is Lisa Cole, Cole breath 5368 on YouTube. And it was for a one of the deep sleep whisper recordings number 200 to 210.

Okay. And three days ago, it's a bit repetitive. dash dash dash jumbled dash dash dash jumps one topic to another full stop.

I wish it was a detailed full body massage whisperer video. Your voice is great for that. So even though it's not necessarily fully complimentary at the beginning, still ends with a nice, you know, got a nice voice.

So thank you. And then someone else. That's strange.

So the same person added wonderful whispering voice very underrated. This is the same person. So thank you and wonder which one they posted first.

Don't know. Unless the person listened to my Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Because usually, the deep sleep whisper ones are fairly, fairly to the point, I think.

I think so. Friendly toad commented this on a different video. You put years of work into these videos.

Glad you got them all back on YouTube. Because we appreciate your work. Well, thank you.

But they're not all back yet. Blimey. There's a lot left still to put on, which is really weird.

I've lost three subscribers in the last couple of days. Ever since I posted that video of me on the screen doing a Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Maybe, maybe I need to not post that.

Oh, I think it might be because people just are shocked that I'm so sexy. They see me in person about Wow. We just, we thought you'd be older.

You just look so young. You're such an old voice. So croaky.

But now you obviously you're clearly just a young lad. Wow. It's something I've never heard.

Although I used to be young. I did. I used to look too young.

Now I don't. So what motivates you to do the sleep podcast? That's kind of it really. I've covered that.

I think. Thank you for the question, Lynn. And, and also how do you get back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night? I empty my bladder.

That does the trick. That's the trick. Seriously.

All I have to do is go to the toilet because it's the only time I generally wake up. Unless the Vinster down up down there. Vinnie wakes me up and say I was not a nickname for my thing.

The Vinster. So if it's usually the only time I generally wake up. If it's the middle of the night is to go to the toilet.

And I mean, it's kind of my own fault, because I do drink. I drink water before I go to bed. And when I do get up in the night, I go to the toilet and then drink more water.

I drink more water because I'm not alone. And what I do is I lay down on my left side facing the wall. And I go back to bed and I go back to sleep pretty much.

That's it. So there's not really a lot involved in it, to be honest with you. I think I'm quite because I don't usually have to have like a deadline of needing to be up at a specific time.

I don't have that pressure, I suppose, like I used to, because there was there was a time when I had a problem sleeping when I was younger. And what made it worse was, I kept looking at the clock. I don't have a clock anymore by my bed, shining in my eyes like I used to, you know, the digital clocks with a radio as well, like don't.

Every time you look, you got this big 0 to 49 in red, glaring at yellow. And what I notice is back then, it used to be harder to get to sleep. I felt I found it harder.

The more I would, the more I'd work out how long I had left to sleep. It's only five hours now. There's only three hours now.

There's only like, I want to go to the two hours I was fast asleep. And then I wake up the alarm will wake me up. And I'd let it go for five minutes.

And I would literally fall back. I fall asleep instantly. Whenever I knew I had I put it on was it sleep for five to 10 minutes or five minutes, I would fall instantly to sleep.

And I get woken up again with doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo, whatever it was, the radio playing. There was a time where I had to do is move. First of all, turn off the radio, because the radio wasn't waking me up.

It wasn't getting me up wasn't annoying me. The alarm annoyed me because I had to move to turn it off. With the radio, I could just stay laying there listen to it.

So what I did is, I eventually put the clock the other side of the room with the alarm on. And I had to get out of bed in order to turn it off. And that's the only way I could force myself to do it.

I was never a morning person. But now, yeah, I'm definitely kind of, I wake up between four and five o'clock generally these days. And yeah, I'm definitely a morning person now.

I quite like the morning. It's very quiet and it might sound maybe sounds bad, but I have a little bit of time without him as well. He's in bed.

It's just nice to have a little bit of just me, me time on my own. And he does come in and he cuddles up to me and stuff if he if he wakes up. But it's sometimes nice to just be able to do some stuff on the internet, maybe and not have him hassling me and like go out now it's raining.

You won't want to go out, but I want to go out now. So I take him downstairs. It's raining.

You won't want to go out there. I want to go out now. So we go out, open the door.

Don't want to go out there. You're going out. I've just put my coat on my shoes.

I've got bags ready for your poo. I've got treats in my pocket. Got me umbrella.

And I put me special wig on. So we are going out. I want to.

You're coming. Nope. Yes, you are.

I don't have to. Yes, you do. I don't.

I end up like having a tug of war with him. It's like, well, you need to go out to do a wee wee. He said, it doesn't matter.

It does. I'm sure he's got a private place that he does a wee somewhere that I don't know about. You think I'd smell it, wouldn't you? But I'm pretty sure.

Because there are times when he won't go outside. But he must be doing it somewhere. Unless he's figured out how to use a toilet.

So if I wake wake up in the morning in the air, so I basically just go back to sleep, lay back down, go to the toilet, then I lay back down after having another drink of water. Out of the bottle. And then I drink out of a bottle because I'm a baby.

And I just lay down on my left side and go to sleep. And because I'm not needing to go to sleep, I don't care if I fall asleep. I just will fall asleep.

I can literally, literally, I can even come into the living room. And maybe I'd set my laptop to upload some stuff. So I've got this I'm uploading some recordings to the podcast, let's say 20 recordings or whatever.

And or I've done transferring some videos to a different hard drive to be saved. So I'm trying to start backing my stuff up now. I've lost too much stuff in the past, which takes a few hours to do because of the size of the of the videos.

So if I've got like 50 videos and they're all two, three gigabytes each. Anyway, I'll come in and I'll do some stuff on the on there. So I might spend five minutes in here and then go back into the bedroom.

I just fall asleep pretty much instantly. So yeah, I did I quite find it quite easy to get back to sleep. Depending, it does depend is not always the same.

There are times when it is a lot of activity. You know, let's say an ambulance has been called and I'm kind of concerned about one of the neighbors or something like that, then I don't necessarily go back to bed. Or if I wake up early and there's boxing on and I know that it's on and I could watch it.

I was like, oh, I might as well watch it. I'm woken up at two boxes started at half one. Yeah, hell might as well just watch it and then then I go to bed at maybe five.

So it depends. But generally and yeah, I can wake up and just go back to sleep fairly easily, which is good. Yeah.

I don't know if I pronounced that right. Is it Hove or is it Jove? So this is the next question. What is the best and worst song in your opinion? Wow.

The worst, best and worst song. I've got a few best songs. There's some songs I think are really hard to beat.

But because I really do, I do love some music. I love I love my music. But I am a little bit stuck in the past.

There was a time when I was quite a few years ago now before I moved here. And there used to be a VHF or VH1 video channel. And admittedly, they play a lot of the same videos.

But it was up to date music. So I got to I got to sort of know what was in the charts. And, you know, became a bit more relevant, but it was quite nice to listen to that stuff.

And the videos were good. And you know, so I quite got into that for a while. I've listened to that while I was working on online stuff.

But now I mean, there was a time when MTV, music, TV, music, TV, the place where videos really became popular. Thriller, for example. And all these really famous music videos that became famous because of MTV.

And what does MTV have now? So they don't play music videos anymore. Which is what was so good. That's what that what MTV was so good for.

And now just typed in and I was surprised because I managed to get MTV on. I think it was Freeview or something like that. They started with apparently according to this, to get an edge on competition, MTV started replacing music videos with reality TV shows.

They became a reality TV channel that happened to have music videos. Well, maybe they do still play music videos every now and then. But then it's this article here from grunge.com. They said MTV actually never really made a lot of money from playing music videos 24 seven.

Even during the best times. I just, they should just change your name. Because it's not music television if it is no music.

I mean, just that's what was so good about MTV for me. Because what it was known for, they don't make any money. They've got adverts, haven't they? It's like one of the most didn't MTV didn't used to have comedy stuff on there as well.

The Saturday Night Live. They used to be on MTV. Maybe I'm wrong.

I mean, that was in America. So I don't know. But I just have a vague memory of seeing it on TV.

Not TV here, but seeing it talked about, you know, VH1 is VH1 gone. I don't know any channels that play music videos. I found it really weird, to be honest.

Really? When you think how popular would, it's probably not a good example, but I'm just thinking of some of the videos. For example, Michael Jackson's Thriller. two and there's two Stevie Wonder's albums in square circle and oh July what is it something July Stevie Wonder Stevie Wonder discography what's it called 1962 so these are probably being these late that early 80s hotter than July 1980 so I've listened to probably most of his albums but hotter than July in square circle I'd probably say that in square circle is my favorite album of his hotter than July 2nd but I'd also I did love that album and then characters so I was a big Stevie Wonder fan for a

album I mean what I find is kind of weird really is you know when people go solo and it just sounds the same as when they were with the band I was like why be solo just have just be with Queen there was a thing though because Barcelona there is in 1990 that became the I think it was the unofficial anthem for the World Cup in 1990 because it was in Barcelona I think the whole cup World Cup thing but Pavarotti song was the one so but Barcelona was they used

remember sitting there in the staff room with the co-op supermarket I used to work little little co-op and I'd sit there one table enough two chairs there wasn't a big that was a staff room and I'd have my can of coke and my packet of fig rolls biscuits and that's what I'd have during my break time I'd go home at lunchtime because I'd live just up the road and I just it used to be on the radio it's almost like they timed it and one of those songs would be played

it's weird for a few weeks I didn't remember it is because I didn't work there long I probably was there about three months so it'd be more springtime spring to summer sort of time yeah worst song is there a song that I really don't like there has been songs that I didn't like and then they grew on me one was drunk in love was it Beyonce and her husband drunk in love or drunk in love I thought that was awful because there's no build-up to is like she just released it

no one knew it was coming whatever so I was for I'd listen to it cuz I do like her it's awful but you know what I ended up loving it because it was just it was so different just very very different to anything it wasn't just it's a great song so yeah that's but that at the time I didn't like it I didn't like it what other ones about songs have I not liked is there a song that would come on that I don't want to listen to okay and right

so if there's a sound it's a it's a compilation album what songs would I skip through I would probably skip through Stock Aitken and Waterman songs so Rick Astley never gonna give you up I wouldn't not want to listen to that no offense to him I just I'll never forgive him it was it was played too much and I know I never really never really liked I him didn't like that song and I did like a couple of songs that he did and he did his song was it hold me

in your arms that one and he did he sung a live song which was a I think it might have been maybe it was whole hold me in your arms do-do-do-do but he had a really good voice but I didn't like the style of songs and he did I think he did a Christmas song that was really good and or when I fall in love he released it at Christmas I think but I know it's not a Christmas song so I really liked his voice I just didn't like some of

the well that particular song we're never gonna give you up it just didn't didn't like it nothing wrong with it I just didn't it was it was too needy it was it demanded demanded my attention I didn't like it and just things like Sinita and Carly Minogue and Jason Donovan and again nothing against any of those people I just never really enjoyed their songs the color Jason Donovan songs are quite good actually but a couple of Carly Minogue songs I quite liked maybe later on when she was a bit older

you know in the pretty late 90s rather than middle 80s or late 80s but see yeah that that kind of stuff and there's a lot of you may not know this if you're living in America you might not know this but there's some album or some songs if you have a compilation album let's say on Apple music which is what I'm using at the moment I've got two months for free they they'll put a song in that I've never heard of and I look it up and it was a huge

hit in America never heard of it here well I've never heard of it so and something from like 20 years ago in 30 years ago I was very up up on my music back then yeah I knew I watched Top of the Pops every week for well from a kid all the way up to when they stopped putting on TV I used to listen to the top 40 charts up to probably 10 years ago every Sunday so I listened to the top 40 so I was up to date on what

the songs and what was going on you know with music generally not phonetically but I knew roughly what was in the charts and who was doing what and I used to watch I so I used to watch the H1 and stuff like that as well and on YouTube also used to have music videos I used to watch music videos on there which I might start to do a bit more actually so mmm worse song so yeah they're the kind of songs I don't really like I'm not a big fan of

country music I'm not not against it I'm not against anything I'm against this chair my buttocks because they're stuck but I noticed that as I got put on weight I noticed when I sit down sometimes I hear like a sucking sound and I realize I'm stuck to the chair anyway I'm a little bit like those remember the those octopuses used to be able to chuck against the wall and they just either stick or they'd like start to crawl down the wall because the suckers would keep it on and that's what

I'm like it's my bum my bums like that so an octopus just a bum so I country music never really the only person ever really liked country wise was Dolly Parton because I did like her songs I like I just love it really liked her sound like you know because she was a huge huge huge tip huge hit in in UK because she had the nine-to-five movie didn't she and then the the one with Burt Reynolds the something house forget what it's called but I just took to us because I

was a kid and I used to love love her songs like nine-to-five and what's the other one I listened to her greatest hits a few times Jolene Jolene that's it Jolene Jolene Jolene Jolene I'm big enough please don't take my mean I mean come on it I always found that to be the most unrealistic song I've ever heard in my life especially then yeah in the like early 80s ain't no one gonna be taking her man ain't there was no one on this planet that would be able to take her

man just just I it wasn't gonna happen it was almost like a bit of a joke song because she had everything going for her apart from being hugely famous and physically and personality why everything and the fact is she did have what was his name I forget but she married and they've been together forever being together the whole time I mean I think she got a pass to kind of do what she wanted you know whatever that is but she she's been at home and he's been a her rock I

guess or whatever her rock that's not a right word I don't know whatever but she's she's been Marvin Marvin so there's I like the story there's apparently she got into where is it where is it they do the music we don't have stuff like that in this country we're so tiny you've got such a tiny country we don't have like a whole area full of music or a whole area full of churches or a whole area whatever I mean I reckon Disney World would probably take up half this country really

it's seriously it's ridiculous how tiny this place is it doesn't feel tiny when you walk in but when I hear that people in America are traveling for like two hours a day to get to work Wow I mean two hours you know for a meeting maybe once a year if you have to do like a long journey fair enough but two hours every day four hours driving now if something was two hours away in this country you will probably take about five hours to get there because of the gridlock because

of the traffic we know what gridlock means that's a good movie by the way if you've never seen it gridlock had that rapper forget his name the one that's quoted a lot Tupac that's it he was in that good movie gridlock I know he's more famous probably well for the obvious thing but it was for the Priz music or for a rapping or whatever he did but that's a really good movie so he was moving into pretty sure he would have been a movie star that was kind of the way

he was heading yeah so as a particular scene in that movie it's kind of funny I won't tell you about it but it's it's something that I've never seen before or since in any movie two things actually one where so Tupac's got his friend who's a white bloke and they go into a it's a place which has got I don't know what is I don't know if they're in the hood that's the right term a hood they're in the hood and anyway this white bloke says something that he shouldn't have

said and we just I forget who's in it who's in who's the bloke in that gridlock gridlock gridlock movie 1997 oh there's another movie called gridlock and it's not the one it's gridlocked nope gridlock gridlocked how annoying so another movie called gridlock came out and it's the bloke from prison break the older brother in prison break so that's annoying Oh gridlocked is gridlocked as well but it's with an apostrophe D 1997 and it was around that time who's in it no no really Tim Roth is in it blimey I didn't

know that Tim Roth Wow right if you haven't seen it and you're an adult check it out it's a good movie and Tim Roth to be fair Tim Roth doesn't do rubbish stuff he's probably one of the finest actors in the world so I don't know what I'm talking about but I think he is he's brilliant I've never seen anything he's been in that wasn't good so back to the music so I think I've answered the question if I answer the question I think I have so I hope I've answered

that Jove best and worst song so I don't have a I suppose yeah never gonna give you up it's probably my least favorite one of my least favorite songs never been a big fan of drum and bass that missed me not age-wise it just missed me so I was I was at the right age for drum and bass I was a right age age for house music and all that stuff but I just didn't acid house I was right age for that never never appealed to me at all the whole

being around other people big crowds of people no no this wasn't my thing so none of that kind of music really I mean some of it was quite good I guess I quite liked when I first listened to Terence Trendavi's second album I was a bit unsure about that one but I ended up loving it when I've listened to Michael Jackson's Invincible album this wasn't the same as his normal stuff but these days I really love it I guess it's just you know things change certain things I mean his movies

I remember watching The Sopranos and I thought now what a pile of rubbish just and I ended up being probably my favorite TV show one of my favorite TV shows ever and I couldn't be bothered to watch Lost because I thought ah so he started barking and now he's distracted by the fly again he's just he's just jumping up at the fly continuously loving it it's his favorite thing he never catches it because he can't fly I guess that'd be weird did I tell you that I keep seeing these two

hawks I don't know hawks or falcon falcons pedigree falcons or whatever or probably not eagles but Wow big big birds bird definitely birds of prey that's a million percent birds of prey and I'm thinking of getting myself a telescope well or some cheap binoculars or something or borrowing someone's but the problem is when I see them I'm well it's hard because I'm in the park I'm near a school and I might look weird me holding binoculars outside a school playground you know I just it's just because that's just where the

park is no I'm I'm looking in the sky and I'm absolutely besotted with these two birds it was one bird and another one came along I can't I don't mean to be prejudiced but I can't tell a difference between the two of them they're too far away I'm guessing it's it's a little family and I asked another neighbor and they said yeah they've seen them in the field so I don't know it's kind of it's given birth to the the bird spotter in me and I didn't realize as a bird

spotter but I think I am and that might be the new route that I'm taking in life and that might be what we're going to be talking about forever and ever I'm in that might be what this podcast turns into me talking about birdwatching and that scares me really scares me I don't because I get a little I've got there is a potential of me getting a little bit obsessed with things sometimes so I have to I have to watch myself if I get too too excited about something that's all

I want to do all day every day that's it I was like that when I first discovered website building I was fascinated with it that you can literally turn a bunch of words and a bunch of things that you type in into moving images or into a web page basically just like loved it that's all I did for over a year it's not all I did I mean I did other stuff but that's what I did most of the days of the week for a year absolutely obsessed what a song

there must be a song that I really cannot stand I can't think of one I didn't like the Cliff Richard song the he did the prayer to a song which I didn't like I just didn't like it particularly didn't you know the words were nice I just didn't it just seemed a bit too dismayed there's been a few Eurovision Song Contest songs that I've heard that I couldn't name them but I didn't like them Wow yeah you really ones I just didn't didn't quite take to but but even if it's

a song that I don't necessarily like I can still appreciate that you know the vocal talents or the the dancing or a choreography whatever you want to call it you know the all the planning I went into it because you know even with a movie even like the worst a movie that's just like classed but everyone pretty much it watches it well not everyone but a lot most people seem to think it's a really bad movie whatever it is that was somebody's dream that was somebody's life's work potentially you know

they put everything into that perhaps they invested every penny they had into producing that movie and you know they spent years maybe writing a script and then a few more years trying to sell the script and it's like a lot of work went into that and the actors and the musicians maybe that did the music the background music for the song and the all maybe the extras involved especially if it's like a big movie that flops a lot of people would have put a lot of work into that and that's

kind of how I think about it in a way it's like okay it didn't the movie didn't necessarily work so well let's say Independence Day too which is ironic because it wasn't Independence Day yesterday in America is it July the 4th or July the 5th I don't know but we didn't we were busy in in England or UK we were busy with the election so there was no I think normally the papers would be talking about whatever whatever's going on you know Independence Day and stuff let's face it it's kind

of independence from us isn't it in a way I suppose independent independence from the Brits from the limey's it's a limey's is that what we called limey's so Independence Day too I think it was a I think I think Independence Day too I think it was a flop like financially Wow is it that long ago so Independence Day resurgence nope I'm absolutely wrong I take that back I apologize I apologize especially to everyone involved it just wasn't very good I didn't find it to be very good maybe I should watch

it again but development what did the filming marketing theatrical reception right resurgence was unable to replicate the successors predecessor it was not one of the top grossing films of 2016 not even of its month of release due to Finding Dory which was a much bigger movie the film also failed to garner much support from China the world's second biggest movie market as the cinemographers cinemagoers they're complaining about how little screen time there was for Chinese actress Angela baby okay well it clearly made a profit because it's they spent so they

spent 165 million budget and 389 point seven million box-office now a profit out of that I don't know but it was just I thought it was a bit of a turkey and maybe it's because I'm a Londoner maybe it's because I thought I don't know maybe it's because I thought that it was gonna be good and I'm gonna have to revisit it maybe it was a good movie and I just didn't enjoy it maybe I was in the mood I might be in the mood sometimes I get into moods maybe

that's what it was maybe it was actually a brilliant movie worst movies of all time of all time okay so Wow jaws the revenge how dare you 1987 I went to watch that that was jaws 3 wasn't it jaws 3 3d it's ridiculous I mean jaws was actually searching for them searching I mean that was a weird one okay fair enough one of the movies that I thought I remember was it the water world it got such a kicking when it was released biggest movie flops so water world was one

of those movies at the time but for some reason maybe it isn't anymore 16 box-office flops because they spent at the time it was like the biggest budget ever but it's not even listed here not even listed heavens gate John Carter stealth Sahara 13th warrior the Lone Ranger I remember sitting through the Lone Ranger I don't want to discuss it so Johnny Depp was Tonto the biggest box-office bomb okay I thought water world was Black Adam apparently they that was Wow Wow so water world W the postman so the postman

was a good movie I don't care what you say so water world isn't even on there so that makes me wonder what am I talking about r.i.p.d that's a good movie yeah it was class as a flop rise of the gun no they got stuff on it it was good how dare they so yeah I remember the water world and it was it was panned at the time it was panned and by the press maybe it didn't do very well in this country maybe that's why I don't know but I

liked it water world right okay 172 million budget box-office 264 see that's not my memory of it my memory that it was a huge flop at the time but it does make me wonder makes me wonder it's almost like Wikipedia is changing the reality critical response the cost controversy see there was a big cost controversy there was huge and they kept going on about it long before was even released how could they spend so much money on a movie but the fact is it was a 1995 film who is the

biggest actor in the world the biggest male actor I think it's fair to say Kevin Costner you know at that time Dancers with Wolves before this movie just leave that I know the movies I'm looking it up but Dancers with Wolves Robin Hood Prince of Thieves the bodyguard and then he does this one so he was a huge huge star at that time so I think it's fair to say Kevin Costner the Untouchables as well but that was like early one wasn't it but 90 but in the early 90s he

was did he do the what's the one where if you build it they will come what's that movie Field of Dreams I mean that's one of those movies that's gonna be in it will go down but just be it'll just be kind of remembered won't it it's one of those great movies that you don't particularly want to watch but you you don't watch it again but you remember it so I feel sorry right I feel sorry but I feel a little bit sorry for the makers of movies that ruin the

movie for people they're great movies great great movies but they ruin it so there's no point watching it again like never okay this there is just to kind of figure out how they managed to do it you know but one would be The Sixth Sense which is what's his name Bruce Willis the other one is Nicole Kidman I forget the one that's in a big house with her two children again I don't want to spoil the movie for people haven't watched it because they are great great movies to me The

Sixth Sense brilliant but once you know once you've seen it once there's you can't you're never gonna enjoy watching it again I don't think because you know I guess it's like watching a Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie movie once you know who done it you know although of course Columbo turned that on its head didn't they because they used to used to get to see who'd done it right at the beginning very clever I like that I remember thinking that's very clever I like that so Waterworld The Postman is a

kind of similar kind of movie in a sense wonder what his biggest movie was out of all of those Dreadnought Bodyguard Dreadnought Bodyguard's the biggest movie he was in no 411 well yeah blimey 25 million budget 411 million at the box office but I reckon do you reckon maybe maybe maybe baby I have you what's the one we were just talking about that he was in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves but it rose to prominence Dancing with Wolves was why they not put that in he rose to prominence starring in

such films as The Untouchables Bull Durham Field of Dreams JFK Robin Hood Dances with Wolves he won an Oscar for blimey wow he looks so young there we all did I guess didn't we 1990 budget 22 million 424 million box office I mean that's a profit I wonder if he took I reckon he probably had shares got percentage maybe not though because he wasn't famous at that time was he really hmm maybe anyway so that I can't think of anything else of regarding my worst song but my best song my

favorite song it's a Michael Jackson song I really love which is in our in our small way it's basically just I think I talked about it the other day just basically saying that we can do this we can help someone maybe not be able to help the world but you can help you can do something help someone in some small way today you know so quite like that so Jove I hope I answered your question kind of right who's next right so I'm gonna just check because I'm not sure if

think it's a little bit too hot for me and I don't know I mean I don't you know without I don't know how long I've got left I don't know what kind of what the plan is for me I don't know it's not it's not really this is William um it's not really something that I'm able to plan right now I mean I could plan it I suppose about being a kind of a fantasy way I suppose but I really don't know I'd quite hmm I'm not sure I don't know

I think I quite like the idea of maybe spending part of my year in one place so maybe be living here having that my base being here but then traveling perhaps spending some time maybe spending a month in Thailand once a year in the cooler period maybe like January time and then maybe or December and then maybe sort of splitting up so maybe you know being here for a couple of months and then going away for a month then coming back for a couple of months and or be you know

something like that if the finances allowed that I think it would be quite cool it'd also give me something to talk about give me something to to fill my podcasts with and help the creative juices to flow so yeah I think that'd be good too I quite like to also go on some cruises that appeals to me to be able to travel around did not necessarily a world cruise although that is something that I would like to do one day just to visit lots of different places but not necessarily stay

anywhere for any length of time I feel comfortable Thailand because I've been there and kind of know my way around a little bit part of part of Thailand so I'd feel comfortable doing that going there for a month that would be easy and it's also quite cheap as well so it's not an expensive holiday take off the air for airfare once you get there it's not a lot of money if you're careful if you don't get ripped off like I did me me me me me so I quite like the

idea there's very few places I wouldn't want to go there's I don't want to go anywhere where there's just like a huge lot of poverty and things like that because just I don't think it I mean I know it's not necessary I buy that I don't mean of course it's not supposed to be fun being around people with in poverty but I don't go somewhere it's really nice but then you turn a corner and it's really horrible so I can get that here I can go to London so you know

I don't really want to go to a place where the tour is touristy and everything's nice and bright and furry and fluffy and then you know turn a corner and you're in a different like a different planet I don't that doesn't appeal to me really and I realized that I might be talking about nearly every city possibly every city in the world maybe where you know if there's a big contrast between the haves and the do not haves like you know big contrast but very little physical distance but I don't

think I'd fancy going somewhere where probably not now when I was younger I would have liked to have gone I always fancied myself of being a bit a little bit of a mother Teresa to be honest just without the skill because I don't see I'm not I'm not a nurse I don't know what it'd be like to I'm not a mother either but the idea of devoting my life to helping people like she did and I mean that's just you know like is it Calcutta wasn't it and she just yeah

I don't know much about her life I've heard stuff and some stuff I've heard I don't want to know about if you know I mean I watched like the idea that she was and there's no such thing as perfection that's what I think and then I look in a mirror and I realize I was wrong that's what I feel I look at Vinnie and I think that's perfection he's perfect my little Vinnie so I'd like to travel around because you know I don't know who knows what's going to happen in

the future and I'm now 53 come out to 54 next month and I plan to stick around I want to stick around like stick around stick around for as long as possible and I've got six years of doing my degree so that's part-time for six years so really I don't need to be in the UK to do it but do need to be living in the UK to do it in order to get it financed so I was and I don't I can't really if I was to give up my

home it'd be difficult because you know if I went away for any length of time I probably I don't know what the rules would be as far as rent you know living here in a council flat and and if I lost this it's even though I don't appreciate living here as much as perhaps I could do sometimes I really do realize how lucky I am to have my own place to have my own flat and knowing what I kind of had to go through to get it and how many years

it took for me not having my own place you know 27 years or 28 years of living all kinds of different places so to give giving this up would be quite difficult you know so let's say if I if I was to try not to laugh if I was to meet someone and be in a relationship and she said oh come move in with me she said that to me come and move in with me we're into her house for example or her flat or whatever it would be difficult to

do that not though perhaps wouldn't want to because I might want to I don't know but once this flats gone and you know once you give a flat up you can't get another one for 10 years I think you have to wait 10 years before you can apply something like that I think and I'll be like 90 by then so I quite like the idea of traveling I'd like to discover a bit more of this country I'll tell you what I think what it is is because I traveled so much

when I was a kid when I was a little kid like little I think I think I got a little bit used to it and maybe that's why I struggled to settle down I struggled to stay in one place for any length of time and this now living here in this flat this is the longest I've ever lived in any one place I've been here over nine years now just over nine years I've never lived anywhere for nine years ever ever I mean the longest place I lived in before was

when we had the family home from the ages of 9 to 15 so six years so we lived there six years that was the only place I ever lived for that long outside of that I think four years is the longest I've ever lived anywhere usually it's maybe three to sometimes one year there's been places I've lived for a couple of weeks few months few days yeah it's just all over all over the place over the years but maybe there's a little traveler in me that wants to move around a

bit because that's what I was kind of I got used to that maybe maybe I feel it would be quite good to have one of those he's hassling me because he wants a treat do you perchance wish to have a treat my dearie I think it's a yes isn't it all right so then he was begging for a treat so I had to go and give him a treat now he's seems to be chilled out now which is good so kind of answer that question different countries moving I don't I'd

definitely love to visit America I'd love to visit Canada Australia and New Zealand and there's parts of Europe I'd really love to visit as well so it's just a case of I mean I've been to as far as Europe goes I've been to Ireland France Belgium Bulgaria and the Netherlands so I've been to five five different places in Europe and of course this country used to be part of Europe but it's not anymore so I've been here as well I've been to England too I've been to Wales I haven't been

to Northern Ireland I haven't been I think I went to Scotland when I was a kid but I don't remember it I'd like to maybe visit Scotland at some point I'd like to go to the Edinburgh Festival I kind of quite like that had my own show there one day and that's probably weird at my age to be thinking about stuff like that but hey it's never too never too old to have fun is it might be fun I don't know it's very expensive to put your own show on apparently

so the only way to really do it if you can is to be popular and to have a management that would cover the costs you know so people like I'm just thinking of like comedians for example like Jack D I'm just whoever I'm trying to think of a new comedian now but whoever is like quite well known I'm a bit out of touch with comedy these days but they would have their management that would probably put a show on for them or book them into is it a gilded balloon it's

one of the big venues in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Festival so Teresa asks me tell us about the Vinnie's tent experience we just went around there a neighbor cooked me a dinner so I went around to collect the dinner sat down I had a chat in the garden and Vinnie I think the young girl there she she loves Vinnie and Vinnie loves her so they're playing in the garden she's got a tent and she calls us over mom Jay come and have a look Vinnie's in the tent so we go

over and I see him and I take some video footage to start with but unfortunately the little girl's in the video so I kind of well I don't want to put that on Facebook her mom said it's fine I give you permission you can put on Facebook I said no it's not really if it was my daughter but even then if it was my daughter probably I might not want to do that either but I managed to get some footage of him in the tent it's only a short clip that

the other clip was a lot longer because he was running around and playing and stuff but it's still quite cute to see him in there I've also got some video footage of I need to upload it Vinnie playing with Archie I found it on my phone so I need to upload that to YouTube as well I'll post that on the Vinnie the Facebook page Jason Newland's boring group yes I don't post it anywhere else that's the only place I really post those things because it's it's only really for you to

listen you know people that are members of that that group to watch and yeah he loved it honestly I just think I finally had my garden if I had my own garden it doesn't have to be big because he's only little so it doesn't need a big space but he loves it running around like I have a tent and just all kinds of little things that you can play with I hope one day I can well maybe be able to offer that for him I don't know but I mean I

live in the country he's got plenty of places to that he can he got lots of dog friends he's got and he you know can run around and that so it's not like he's he's not stuck indoors all day but yeah he was fun I enjoyed watching him as well Teresa asks you have mentioned that your favorite pizza has sweet corn on it we don't have that combo in the States I have so many questions what else is on it cheese sauces tell me tell me tell me well we don't

have that combo in the UK either I asked for it so I didn't mind so we have sweet we have some pie ham and pineapple which is I think it's Hawaiian isn't it we have hot ham and pineapple and sweet corn is available I think they put that more on the vegetarian the vegetarian one which I sometimes have because I've um I'm pretty much I'm like 95% vegetarian but I very rarely eat anything non-vegetarian occasionally I do but generally I'm so when it my favorite food is pretty much vegetarian food

like when it comes to pizzas Vinnie stop it I'll I generally go for a vegetarian pizza because that's the ones I prefer so sweet corn and pineapple it's a combination I don't know where I got the combination from I'm guessing probably someone else had it and I had a slice and I thought oh I like that and my stepmum brilliant cook well but it's quite weird but not weird but both of my stepmums brilliant cooks so the stepmum between 80 what 70 77 and 86 she had like her cooking skills

were amazing she used to make stuff from scratch like cakes and pizzas and you know like things like that as well as food that is food but as well as like cook dinners and she was a really really great cook and my step my second stepmum who from what 88 until now still still there still my still my stepmum she's a brilliant cook as well like brilliant and she used to make cakes for a living like decorate cakes and make cakes and also make sweets like truffles and things like that

absolute artist with that stuff and she's now an artist with painting as well very talented lady so I've been quite lucky when it comes to not knowing my day-to-day life because they're not here with me but imagine how fat I would be if I had someone cooking for me blimey mind you if I had someone cooking me decent food I probably have energy to go to the gym so yeah it's kind of works around both sides doesn't it I suppose and but yeah I I don't know where I got the

idea of sweet corn and pineapple but I know that I've been eating sweet corn apple pineapple sweetened pineapple but it's a podcast I've been eating sweet corn and pineapple pizzas since at least 1987 I know that for a fact because funny enough because I thought I think I mentioned this the elections I didn't have a pizza last night because they're too expensive now but I didn't because I wanted to stay up all night and watch the election which I didn't I was up half the night on and off I listened

to it on the radio when I was in bed so I was up quite a bit of the night but I didn't stay up all night I missed a lot of stuff which is a shame but I think as I got older I kind of struggle a little bit more now to just stay up to keep it to keep it up so yeah it's an age thing I think so I sweet corn yes it was 1987 election it might be 1988 but I'm pretty sure was 1987 because I was living

in the flat above the chip shop and I finished work it was a Thursday and the elections are always on a Thursday for some reason it seems and if I put let's have a look if I get dates of all UK elections list of general elections this goes back to 1801 so I don't really want to be that far okay this has come closer to 4th of July okay so why is it only a 4th of July 4th of 4th of July so look I'm gonna put in the date see

what day it was so 12th of December was the last one 2019 so what day was that Thursday okay so yesterday was Thursday so 8th of June 2017 was one before that Thursday see I'm correct 7th of May I love it when I'm right because it's rare whoops go back 7th of May 2015 was the election before that one Thursday the one before that was a 6th of May 2010 was that's weird it's not saying what day it was okay May 6th of May 2000 Thursday blimey wonder how far back

so Winston Churchill I mean clearly I'd say some would argue the most famous UK Prime Minister of all time but there was a lot blimey Margaret Thatcher probably second just for fame from being known yeah worldwide well probably worldwide in the Western world anyway I imagine maybe not now who knows so yeah blimey so it was the it was the 11th of June 1987 that's when I had the sweet corn and pineapple pizza and I remember I went into the kebab shop because they also did pizzas in there they kind

of had a whole section of pizzas I think there was oh yeah also because he seemed to he liked me a little bit a bloke that ran it so he invited me to go downstairs because I had like a special club down there with a pool room and it basically was a pool room but it was just a place to hang out and I didn't even know it was there and because I think it was more that we both worked serving people food you know he was in a kebab shop

I was in a chip shop he owned a kebab shop but there was kind of a people knew each other you know the people who worked in shops and stuff kind of got to know each other a bit especially in the catering industry so if there's a bloke who worked in the sandwich shop across the road we kind of get to know them just because sometimes they come over have you got any change and well you know things like that or they might run out of potatoes or cooking oil bread

it's a bit rubbish when you're a sandwich shop it should be a bit more prepared mmm I remember saying that they weren't happy so yeah sweet corn and pineapple pizza that's what I just loved and I haven't always eaten sweet corn and pineapple I do have other things I'm not that stuck as a person but it is still my favorite and okay so we don't have that come so we don't have that combination here but I just ask because if you remember that in the pizzas unless everything's already prepared they

have to make the thing and they've got the ingredients in front of them when they're in the takeaway so they've got the the cheese the last time I went to a pizza place is quite a while ago but generally it's not that different from going into really what's that sandwich place I've been in one for years but they make a sandwich for you like a roll sandwich thing it's a bit like that you know it's really got a salad and you've got the chilies and whatever different things so with the

pizzas it's a similar kind of thing they've just got the the cheese but normally there's put the they've got the dough already ready already ready and then they have put the tomato sauce on first and then maybe some cheese and and then they put stuff on top like whatever you want really sausage slices or not a whole sausage but you know everything has to be quite sliced onions some people have I don't know how that kippers and fish and all kinds of fish fish all kinds of fish all kinds of

things so I'm pretty basic I mean it's to me it doesn't matter if they use the same instruments because I'm not that bothered it's not like for me it's not I suppose it is kind of a religious thing Buddhist thing but it's not in the same way as has to have a different cutlery for different you know being used for different things as long as it's clean but sweet corn and pineapple yeah thin crust but then once I discovered Domino's I kind of went for a thicker crust I haven't can't

remember the last time I had a Domino's I think it was Christmas January I think and used to have Domino's regularly there was a time when I lived near town I used to get a full-size like a large large Domino's pizza for 10 pound and they deliver it for 10 pound and I'd have that not every Saturday but fairly regularly that would be my Saturday night treat you know work all week have a nice little treat on a Saturday night Domino's pizza and yeah then I moved here and they still

did me that deal because I was a regular you know they knew me you're like JJ why me on the phone and I guess like yeah you kind of got to know me because they speak to me every week and then they put their prices up and I can't order online because for some reason they won't deliver it they'll deliver it if I phone them but they won't deliver it if I and I understand they want the money first but surely they can do that on on the line they don't

don't order on on the internet and then just pay when they get here do you well not in this country there was a time there was a time when that was the way you'd order to order a pizza and you'd pay when they got to your door but those days are well gone well gone here anyway I don't know what it's like other places so sweet corn pineapple and cheese that is it that's the whole thing and tomato sauce you know on top and it's just quite basic but in my

sugar days because this now is my non sugar days I can still eat pizza I know that I need to be a little bit careful what I eat these days but you know I used to love to have the cookies as well so I have a cookies and I'd have a what do I have a bottle of coke or something yeah yeah normally have a bottle of coke or maybe a couple of cans of coke so I don't drink coke anymore I don't drink fizzy drinks haven't really done that for

a long time anyway and I can't be eating like cakes and stuff anymore so yeah it's a bit it's a bit weird but hey it's my I overdid it I mean there was a time when I used to drink like six cans of coke a day and you know you can this is only so long you can do that for before it can you can't do it any longer and I mean I stopped before I needed to stop with the coke but you know sugar and tea because I spoke to

the doctor yesterday and I just said look I am trying to take it seriously and so I haven't I haven't had no cakes no chocolate in fact I've got a neighbor put a chocolate bar through my door really teasing me with that put a crunchy bar through my door through my letterbox because he does that every now and then and I help him out help him out every a little bit now and then as well so he's just just being nice and another neighbor asked me if I had any fizzy

drink because he needs sugar so I said well no but I've got a chocolate bar you can have so I posted that through her letterbox that chocolate bar has traveled you imagine he's like you finally get out of the shop freedom like nope I'm gonna go through some a bunch of gaps a lot of holes or one in the door there another door and then go into another one and then out of another one this is yeah well-traveled crunchy bar it's probably now in it's probably now traveling in the sea

somewhere oh dear or some river so cheese sauce cheese sauces tell me tell me tell me that's it it's a very basic pizza it's not a lot on it all the pizzas are I mean that's why I do wonder I understand that any business has got high expenses you know you've got staff premises all that stuff so it's expensive but the cost of a pizza is so minute you know to make I mean I've done it myself when I've done like just got a normal cheese pizza frozen one and added

my own pineapple and sweet corn and I can do that for less than a pound less than a pound like two tins one tin of sweet corn one tin of pineapple or a bag of sweet corn frozen so it's literally pennies sprinkle it on and put a couple of rings of or three rings of sweet corn on there it's a half a half a tin which is maybe 60 pence 50 penny you know so it's like a pound maybe it's a pound for each tin but it's half of each so

it's a pound and you've got the cheese so you're probably looking at if you say another pound for the cheese it wouldn't probably cost that much but another pound for the cheese and then maybe the dough another pounds but it probably not see if we're looking at to make a pizza a couple of pound with buying in bulk but if you do it yourself maybe three three pound with all the you know if you have to make it from scratch and maybe cost you a couple of pound three but because

they're buying all the stuff in bulk and everything so the the price adding the price on top is a huge profit yeah I just wish it was still ten pound but then I'm going back ten years well over nine years which is ten years over nine years is ten years so I'm going back quite a few years so anything that was ten pound ten years ago is gonna be a fair bit more now now I guess oh my friend my neighbor spoke to me he knocked on my door to tell

me that it was his birthday so I gave him a big hug a little bit of kiss and cuddle and he said I said how old are you and he gave me the numbers but like it was like said seven seven so I just say the number he does I think he just doesn't want to say it out loud it's like it gives me the numbers individually and he said he got took a friend of his took him out for lunch to Wendy's apparently the Wendy's near the football club and

he's a massive football fan but I've never been in a Wendy's ever and he said it was beautiful it's the best burger he's ever had I said wow I've always wanted to go into Wendy's just didn't know there was one in town he said yeah it's near the football ground I said well it's a bit out of the way he said not if you've got a car I said well I haven't got a car he said I know I said well you haven't got a car either he said yeah I

know but I know someone's got a car it's more than you've got I said that's so childish I know people who've got cars he said no you don't I said yes I do he said you don't I said he said look don't argue with me on my birthday I'm 77 give me some slack let me get away let me win this argument just one argument please I said alright blimey so a little dance and that was it really so yeah it's I said to him what about five guys he said

no there's a joke I'm not even gonna say it I said have you ever tried five guys and he said no I can only manage two no five guys are burgers is it five guys five guys burgers five guys five all right okay five guys is it called five guys five guys right the Internet's not working very slow five guys gotta be careful I mean if you put that in images oh good burgers 20 years ago if you put five guys in into Google you you wouldn't know what you were

gonna get never disappointed though so five guys delivery five guys burgers deliveroo but there is no five guys where I live in this town but I don't think there isn't me five guys apparently there is blimey I didn't know that I need to try that out five guys I always want it I know I'm not supposed to eat that stuff but it'll be like a one-off maybe on my birthday end of August and most years end of August I maybe I'll go in there going over a friend or something and

have a have a burger so I like milkshakes I wouldn't the thing I've always this is so boring I can't believe I'm talking about this it's the best place to do it I know but never been a big fan of drinking coke or fizzy drink when eating a burger I think it's because when I eat a burger you know in the past I'd eat a lot quicker because I was in public it's not because I wanted to look like a pig I just never really particularly felt comfortable being in a

public place so I would kind of get it done a bit quicker than normal see when I was sitting here I can make a meal last for an hour my breakfast lasts me about 20 minutes I just I'm just my bready break I was eating it and watching telly and no hurry got no hurry in me I've always eaten that in five guys I'd probably kick me out wouldn't they actually what you bought your own breakfast for be talking about me for years but that bloke that bought a bowl of

cereal with him just sat down and started eating it remember that we mean a really handsome sexy man yeah yeah he only looked about 35 yeah that's the bloke so I like milkshakes thick shakes milkshakes I like them so with McDonald's I don't know how Burger King have managed to keep going the reason being is I've never seen Burger King be busy not in town McDonald's always pretty much always a queue and that's where all the kids go so just say the kids like but even the college young young college

people they're there first like during the day so you got people going there it's just like it's busy all the time I think I've even got security in the evenings Burger King is this it's like a library it's just I've never seen it be particularly busy it's not very big and I don't know I mean it must be doing well in the world but just doesn't compete with McDonald's at all here in this town so five guys I need to try and Wendy's I need to try so I find coke

fills me up a little bit too more too much because a bit fizzy it's a bit gassy well it's very gassy it's supposed to be isn't it and I don't mind gas as long as it's leaving my body I really want to put gas into my body my gas produces my body produces not my gas produces my body my body produces gas anyway I don't need to put more in it's not necessary you know it's it's it's like shaving your knee it's just no point you don't need to shave your

Simpsons did you know the Simpsons was a cartoon clip that was on a Tracey Ullman show in the late 80s seriously and family guys started in the middle 90s in about 95 96 and then they stopped and it came back so family guys been going for 30 years nearly so yeah I think that just because of the age thing but also they whatever they do they always survive no matter what happens no matter what stupid things that both of them do they always always come out of it so that's that

yeah so they can kind of do anything they want try anything they want and they always come out okay so I quite like that and if technically they got quite good relationships with them with their wives so I quite like that as well I clearly love their wives both of them and I and their wives love them even though they pushed I know it's a cartoon it's not real but it's real to me I don't know other than that yeah cartoon they're the only cartoons really that I would watch or

TV characters a TV or cartoon character TV character I'd like to be a sleuth like Sherlock Holmes something like that always I like the idea of being kung-fu you know Kane our kung-fu traveling around I also like Highway to Heaven because I don't know I just loved them I love that man there's something about him that was just regardless of his personal life which I'm not interested in he was perfect he just looked like an angel I don't know why however strange that might sound but you know a drunk angel

maybe but he was he helping people traveling around helping people but at the same time being invincible I quite like the idea of being invincible I never felt invincible even when I was young because I knew I wasn't because yeah I never had that kind of being young thinking oh well maybe I did a little bit but generally not so much TV character who else the Bionic Man is it Colonel Steve whatever his name is that there is a bloke that was Prince and the BBB be a prince it was

Diana Prince wasn't it Wonder Woman's boyfriend the original Wonder Woman I kind of grew like what I'd like to have been him because I loved Wonder Woman but then being the Bionic Man that would have been cool and also cool as well because he's he's about 110 and he's still going Lee Majors you think I'm joking Lee Majors is the I think the oldest actor in the world he's born in 1939 Lee Majors so he's 85 okay Clint Eastwood's a little bit a bit older it's amazing Clint Eastwood isn't it

weird when you think about it yeah Clint Eastwood he's 88 I thought he was like 95 or something he's not he's 94 Wow 94 so if you look at his movies so he's 94 now it's been around so long that his movie list is oh no it is on there shush me calm yourself down Vinnie please please won't you please filmography right there's a couple of films I just want to point out his first movie 1971 oh no it wasn't his first really directing or producing credits 1971 play Misty for

me so that was his movies 1971 acting roles 1955 was his first movie 1955 directing and or producing credits he's made loads loads loads and loads and loads and loads Wow I mean the only first one I knew that he'd done was Million Dollar Baby I didn't realize he did Mystic River as well great movie Million Dollar Baby another great movie Gran Torino great movie The Mule Cry Macho I think I've seen I've seen every movie he's done I think Unforgiven no that was the first one Power Rider Wow Firefox

Wow it's a Firefox I remember that I love that movie and Tightrope Power Rider see Power Rider was his kind of man with no name all that stuff but it was like a more up-to-date one compared to the the ones that he did when he was younger I guess everything's up-to-date compared to what he did when he was younger right any which way you can any which way but Loose 1978 so 1978 he was born in 19 1930 40 50 60 70 he was 48 years old when he was a

bare-knuckle fighter I mean he's done so much of his life from his gunslinger he's been a policeman he's he's been in the army he's done so many different jobs it's amazing really if you think about it bare-knuckle fighter boxing trainer yeah Wow not sure why I'm talking about that so yeah I don't know I think a young Clint Eastwood said I'd be I'd be live forever character TV character there was two TV characters two TV shows and I really liked both of the characters on there like the stars were female

but the the co-stars were male and one was bewitched and the other one was I Dream of Jeannie and I just I just thought it'd be such a great life to be the husband in both of those TV shows but then I quite like the idea of being home in Munster because he was so lovely so it goes so so it was just nice wasn't he big cuddly you know so jovial and so I like that spend the rest of my life as a TV character yeah I don't know not

sure but yeah probably hmm it's a few it's very I struggle to just choose one I think that's part of the reason why I decided to stick with one pizza it's just easier a sweet corn pineapple or with McDonald's quarter pounder with cheese meal just had the same thing nearly all the time I never tried any of the new stuff although I don't go in there hardly ever but just you know generally I don't find choosing things particularly easy I used to go into the video shop when I was a

kid and I'd be waving not as a kid even this older and I'd be in there for an hour two hours looking at every this is back in the day when you could look at the video covers well back in the day when we had video shops but with blockbusters they were kind of they weren't in the covers anymore were they they just in a blockbusters cover so you couldn't really see much about what was going on what the movie was about and stuff necessarily especially with the popular stuff because

they were trying to get everything in and out quick but in the 80s I used to love I spent hours reading everything every single cover and I'd be the same with books as well in book shops spent hours in a bookshop before I bought anything and yes so that was that was it I can't really I can't say more than this I'm probably gonna think of some more later well thanks for that Phil Julia hi Jason it's getting to the point when even the act of putting in my earbuds to

something out of freezer to go with it and sometimes like eggs if I'd like egg on toast or egg sandwiches or you know stuff like that so yeah I don't really do much in a way of cooking and I have sandwiches I'm eating small salad these days salad when I was young I never needed anyone all by myself so yeah I was to do what is your favorite recipe food or food related memory I would say my favorite food as a treat would be sweet sweet sweet sweet and sweet corn

I've been talking for too long it's been three hours sweet corn and pineapple is my particular favorite sweet corn and pineapple pizza and I do enjoy a nice roast dinner I do but my two favorite things roast dinners the three favorite things actually four I like the whole thing to be honest but I love Yorkshire puddings can't get enough Yorkshire puddings I love crispy roast potatoes but I can even not that bothered about having meat on a roast dinner but I do love and this is weird I do love stuffing

cute you're the cutest little monkey in the whole wide world right I better go because he wants me to do that my my favorite food relates my favorite food related memory blimey I can't think favorite food related memory there's one memory I've got which is it wasn't just about a food but it was Guy Fawkes night bonfire night and my stepmom this is probably in the early 80s and she'd always put on a really nice food display well wasn't just for display but to eat my nanny and granddad would be

there her mum would be there my brothers unfortunately were there and we'd do fireworks watch the fireworks have a bonfire and have this big spread and order pizzas and cakes and stuff so that was I used to like that and I suppose my one of my favorite food related memories is this and that's pretty sad we're not sad but it's not really food but I used to enjoy going around my nan's and eating her what they called rock cakes she used to make rock cakes and make a cup of tea

I love the rock cakes like some people don't like him because they're too dry I wouldn't eat them I mean if I was in the middle of a desert I wouldn't if I was traveling through a desert I wouldn't fill my backpack full of rock cakes and no water you know it just it wouldn't make sense I'd just eat the sand but I'm not saying her rock cakes tasted like sand I'm just saying they are they are I loved them I couldn't eat them now my teeth wouldn't allow it I

don't think I think you need young teeth to be buying in I'm honest they weren't actually made of rock but they were quite hard sometimes but they were lovely I loved them and I used to dip them into well she'd handle me a chisel and a hammer so I break break it into color bits and I dip it into the tea I've dropped one once and I broke the table but it's that's my happy one of my happy memories is or even just going around and having some biscuits packet of

biscuits and my dad had come around and with between the two of us would just eat the whole packet and little things like that and have a really nice memory involving food stop whining Finny please I'm coming to the end of the recording please Finny nearly three hours I've been doing this come on just give me some space little bit of space I can't believe it's half past 10 in the evening I started this about 15 hours ago and so yeah my step my second stepmom she used to make these

sweets like truffles and stuff and she'd sell them on a Saturday on a market there's like a special market she used to go to and I remember going with her and even though I wasn't eat well I wasn't supposed to be eating the truffles I did have a few it's one of my one of my happy memories I just enjoyed it I just being there with her and I didn't know her that well to be honest at the time I'd known her a couple of years but I didn't I guess

I didn't know her that maybe it was even late 80s to be honest probably was yeah probably was late 80s but it was just fun a lot of fun and I enjoyed that and yeah food related there's another it's kind of a funny thing we my dad remind me he remembered it the what that doesn't remind me hardly of anything that ever happened when I was a kid but he remembers this I didn't know he did but I used to do cooking at school and whatever I cooked I brought home

so he took all the dishes into school and cooked everything and he one of the favorite things they should like guests to do is lasagna for some reason and my dad was talking about this a few years ago as I turned up at home I carried this all the way home and there was hardly any left in the bowl it was all down my top I didn't even realize and just he found it hilarious so I don't know I remember it happening but I don't remember him seeing it I guess

he probably must have done but it was just whatever I cooked the family ate and it's weird how that day all my brothers stayed they ate round a friend's house that night even my little brother and he was only two like no one wanted to eat my food because I didn't blame them I didn't even want to eat it I know what's in it when there was nothing wrong with it but just I used to find that if you spend personally so worked in catering for quite a few years different

different catering jobs I didn't get hungry I didn't want to eat what I'd cooked especially if I spent like two hours doing it I don't want to eat this now I don't want to see especially being in a class full of cookers and loads of people all cooking lasagna and all the cookers and all that smell for like an hour and a half or whatever and then carrying the thing home having that smell of the lasagna which I like but generally I never wanted to see it as a lasagna again

he is absolutely whining because he wants to get into the into the treats there's a treat packet all he wants to do if I wasn't here I think he'd be up there because he can jump on to there I know I've seen him do it if I wasn't here he'd be up there I should set up a camera hidden camera and see what he does maybe he's forgotten he can he can jump because I had a friend who's at the door and Vinnie it's just it's quite a while ago but

he literally hopped on to the where the TV is a cabinet where the TV is hopped up right out of nowhere I'm gonna say he was younger then but he's still young although he is a bit bigger now you bit bigger why is your willy sticking out Vinnie put that away he's on two legs like begging me please please sir can I have some more would you like you wanna have a treat you want a treat now he's tipping his head from side to side trying to look cute no you're
