Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name is Jason Newland. My website is jasonnewland.com. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

It's been a bit of a strange day today. It is Sunday the 27th of May 2024. It's two minutes past eight in the evening.

And I can say I hit a bit of a brick wall today, emotionally, just maybe it was last night, quite a lot of effort was put into and energy was put into what I was doing last night and I had a fair, quite a bit of human interaction with some neighbours and maybe it just tired me out, I don't know. I didn't get to really, you know, make a podcast last night, although that's not technically true.

I did actually record a podcast while my neighbour was in the room and we ended up talking to each other throughout the whole thing, but this morning when I came to edit it, it was such a huge task that I just gave up.

It was a huge task because it was like two hours or an hour and 45 minutes and there was parts where she said don't record this or I don't want that, you know, I don't want that in it and just try to remember which bits they were and then there was things that I said that I thought, although funny, well we found it funny, probably wouldn't be acceptable.

Maybe I don't know, you know, because sometimes things in the moment, you know, in context can actually seem funny, but out of context might seem not so amusing, you know, so and we were talking about people, or not people, but situations that we know about that wouldn't be, make sense to anyone listening to the podcast, so I decided to not upload it or not edit it.

I started editing it and then I thought, the difference is, I invited her to pull the chair over and do a podcast together because she needed to stay here and I said, well, I still need to make my podcast because if I wait until you've gone, because you did say at the end, well why don't you just do your podcast now, redo it and no, it's too late, I'm too tired, I can't be starting a podcast at half ten in the evening, or it was just gone ten, so that's too late for me, I'm normally in bed at ten.

As it happened, I needed to have something to eat and I ended up in bed by about eleven, so I had to have some breakfast cereal, you know, because I was hungry, my tummy was rumbling, so that's what happened yesterday and I'll talk a little bit more about today, but before I do, I'm starting a new thing, it's not really, it's going back to something I've done before and a few people quite liked it and did say, well continue doing it and I didn't, because you know, I'm not a people pleaser, obviously, so, so, I have set up, well I'll tell you exactly what I've done, what I've done, I'm on chatgpt.

com, trust me, it's not an advert, so I said, hi, hello, how are you today?

I said, ok, can I ask you to set me up something here on here that we can do every day together? Of course, I'd be happy to, and put this big thing up and I said, no, no, no, no, no, sorry, I want to tell you what it is, no problem, tell me what it is you have in mind.

So I wrote, I'd like to set up a gratitude diary which I fill in daily, but I do need you to remember all of the entries, continuing into the future, I intend to do this for the next few years, I'm thinking that I should write down three things I'm grateful for every day, what do you think? That sounds wonderful, and a wonderful idea, a gratitude diary can be a powerful tool for enhancing your well-being, and blah, blah, blah.

So, to get started, let's create your first entry for today, and please list three things you're grateful for, and I'll record them, each day you can add new entries, and I'll keep a running log for you, and it says I'll help to set it up and keep track of your entries.

What are your three entries for today? So, what I'm going to do is number them, I'll do 1, 2, 3, 1, so the first thing I'm grateful for is a cooked meal I had cooked for me. Cooked? Oh, it's not got an R in. A cooked meal I had cooked for me, by a neighbour.

That was by a neighbour, downstairs. Now, I wasn't expecting that to happen, and I was really hungry. You know when it's something, the timing is just perfect? That's one of those moments.

I was, I just got back from walking, from taking, what's his name out? Try not to say the word. Not his name, but, you know, the word. One of the, one of the five words that he knows, and I got back, and I wasn't feeling, I wasn't feeling it today.

You know, I was in the mood of just sleeping all day, because I just wasn't, I wasn't in a great space, but I'm not going to harp on that, but just, that's where I was, and my neighbour, when I got back, my neighbour had sent me a text saying, I cooked you a meal. So I said, oh, can I come and get it? And she said, yeah, all right.

So I did, so I went and got it.

She handed me the meal, so, and the plate rather. I didn't just hand it, I'd have to like, put it in my hands, that'd be weird. But she gave me, gave it to me on a plate, which is good.

No knife and fork, but it's fine, it's fine, it's okay. Brought it upstairs, I put it in the microwave, because it was, it was, wasn't, it was like, tepid, tepid warm. She sent the message about half an hour ago, and, or 40 minutes ago or something, because I'd been out with him, so I didn't see it, and then, so it wasn't warm, so I put it in the microwave for two minutes, and it didn't ruin it either, it still, it really tasted good, like, really good.

I don't know if that was because I was hungry, I didn't eat any food yesterday, other than breakfast cereal, so I don't know if it was because I was hungry.

I mean, that makes sense, but I just think it just tasted really good, because it tasted really good, and it was a roast dinner, so it had everything I kind of needed, you know, lots of vegetables, but it wasn't a big meal, it was like a nice-sized meal, wasn't all piled on, which even I have a tendency of doing, and I don't eat it, I never eat a big meal, but measuring it out is not always that easy, but then, I think it's easier when you're cooking for more than one, because she, I mean, she might have more people down there that she's cooking for, so it was, I guess it's easier to have portions, proportional portions, is that a correct term?

Proportional portions, sounds kind of right, and when I cook for myself, sometimes, like with potatoes, I'll put too many in, because it's like hard to really, it's just sometimes, I'll just put enough in, that'll probably be enough for me to eat, it's such a tiny amount to be spending that much, not energy, but I suppose, technically, you know, using energy up just to boil some potatoes, that it's not much, although, although, although, although, even the carrots tasted nice, I don't know what she was using, like, but it tasted nice,

because I never put seasoning in anything that I cook, so carrots, broccoli, you know, because broccoli can taste amazing, if it's cooked in a, I don't know how that people cook it to make it taste nice, but I never have vegetables that taste nice, apart from baked beans, and I do, sweet corn, I think, can taste nice, you know, anyway, I mean, it obviously tastes much nicer with butter, which is probably not something I should be having, but on a regular basis, that was super tasty, like really, so, oh, and,

you know, sometimes, what I used to do, actually, you know, regarding the energy thing, I used to have a technique, probably not my own technique, I might have got it from somewhere, or I might have just, you know, being a genius, a saucepan genius, maybe, I used to put all the vegetables, vegetables together, and then feed my tortoise, vegetables, tortoise, I said, no one says vegetables, there's a part of the country that say vegetables, and tortoise, but there's a part of the country, part of this country, they say tortoise,

and I just find it funny, because that is how it's spelled, it's spelled tortoise, and, but there's a lot of words that are spelled in a certain way, but they're not pronounced that way, like Leicestershire, it's Leicester, Leicestershire, was it, Leicester Square, it's Leicester Square, yeah, Leicester, like Leicester, Tottenham Court Road, Tottenham, oh, that is just Tottenham Court Road, okay, but, haynaut, that's haynaut, isn't it, yeah, okay, there are words, I can't think of any, and, what you should do is put the potatoes in a saucepan, bring it to a boil,

and then add the various other vegetables, whether it's carrots, peas, whatever, Brussels sprouts, whatever it is, just add them to it, take it off the hob, put it onto a cold hob, in the saucepan, not each individual Brussels sprout, the saucepan, take it off, turn the cooker off, put a lid on, leave it, just leave it, and then come back an hour, two hours later, it's all cooked, and then, I mean, if you want your food to be hot, then all you need to do is just bring it back to the boil and it's hot again,

and it doesn't necessarily ruin anything, or you can just fill a kettle full of hot water, we don't fill a kettle with hot water, the kettle becomes hot water after you've filled it with cold water, but, you know, you can reheat it up that way, rather than using a microwave, or, if you're not that bothered about it being hot, which I never really was, to be honest, because it keeps its heat, so it'll be warm, it might not be hot, hot, hot, but other than meat, you don't really need to be that bothered,

well, I mean, it's a personal taste thing, isn't it, but that's why you should do, and then I'd do that, because it took no effort, literally, and by the time I'd, it was basically, I'd put the potatoes in, as the water was boiling, what I generally would do is boil a kettle, and then put that in, put the potatoes in, and then bring it back to the boil, and at the same time, peeling the vegetables, like, I mean, the only ones that took a long time, really, I mean,

carrots are quite easy, Brussels sprouts are just cut a little bit off each end, how can it be each end, they're round, no, it's like the stalk bit, and the hardest bits are the peas and the sweet corn, peeling them takes ages, but once that's done, put them into the water that's boiled, and then just put the lid on, and stick it on the other hob, and that's it, anyway, let's get down to doing the first gratitude entry, shall we, well, I was doing it, wasn't I, I was talking about it,

I cooked a meal, a cooked meal I had cooked by my neighbours downstairs, it was a roast dinner, I mean, I probably don't need to put this much information in, to be fair, so that's number one, so that's one, what's the second thing, I'm feeling quite grateful, I mean, should I be grateful, should I just put down grateful to my neighbour, because I'm kind of grateful for the meal, does it sound like I'm grateful towards the meal itself, rather than the person that prepared the meal, but I'm not,

that's not how I meant it to be worded, I'm just grateful for the whole thing, really, and the next thing I'm grateful for would be the audio books on YouTube, audio books on YouTube, this might sound weird, but I, sometimes, I just like to sit and listen, or maybe go to sleep, if I'm, you know, at night, or whatever, and listen to an audio book, and I, it's always positive stuff, I mean, I was listening to a book on Stoicism, and then, or Stoicism, I'm not sure how it's pronounced, and,

well, I do know it's pronounced Stoicism, isn't it, obviously, and the, there's, I was listening to that, and there's just so much positivity, so much, yeah, it's just a very positive, positive book, and I was listening to it, I was like half asleep, listening, and then I fell asleep, and then I woke up, and I'd been asleep for two hours, pretty much, just on a settee, listening to that, that audio book, which lasted an hour, and then the next audio book, which was about confidence, which lasted about another half an hour,

or about another hour and 15 minutes, well, it had gone into it, it lasted over two hours, but I'd been listening to it for over an hour, and, yeah, it's just, that's another reason why I can't have adverts on there, I need to have premium, because that would just wake me up, if suddenly there was an advert, advertising toothpaste, or, you know, hang gliding, it'd just be, it'd be, especially with like, because quite a lot of those audio books aren't even, I don't think they're even real people narrating it, it's,

it's done using, well, they're quite monotonous, monotone, I think it's, they use AI and stuff, because some of the words are not pronounced correctly, which doesn't bother me, because I'm thinking, well, I'm getting to listen to a whole book here, so what if some of the words, because it's, I mean, if you can, there was a time, there was a time, I used to listen to books using a laptop, and it was, I can't remember what it was, but it was a read out loud app thing, this was like a decade ago,

and it would talk like a robot, that sounds like a wonderful idea, a gratitude diary can be a powerful tool for enhancing your wellbeing, and maintaining a positive outlook, I'll help you to set it up and keep it, keep track of your entries to get started, let's keep, you know, it's got no gaps, very like, not easy to read, or to listen to rather, but this is a lot easier, I'm guessing, I could probably, yeah, there's more ways of listening, and I do also, I do want to read,

but I'm going to need to get my eyes tested, and probably get some new glasses, because my eyesight is, it's not as good as it was, but as far as reading, I've got all, all in one lens, I've got trifocals, so the top bit is, have I got trifocals?

I don't know anymore, I think I do, I think the top bit is for distance, the middle bit is for computer work, and the bottom bit is for reading, or, I don't know, I think so, it's a long time since I last went, yeah, it's a long time, I had a very strange dream just now, very strange dream, and I was asking people the way home, and there's this, I should do, I should do a daily podcast on my dreams, that'd be weird, it wouldn't last, well,

I was going to say it wouldn't last long, maybe it would, but it would be, because I've got this world that's been created, maybe it's the same for everyone, not the same world, but there's certain things that happen, that I keep going back to, there's a place where I live, but there's also another place that I live, there's another place, it's like, there's a few places that I actually live, but I don't live, and do I owe rent on that one, or do I not owe rent on it,

and I'm literally thinking about it, like, oh, I haven't paid any rent for months, how much rent do I pay, and there's the room, I know the map of the room, I've never lived in that room, it's very weird, and there's another flat, it's like a, but it was a council flat that I've got, but then I'm also living, well, I haven't lived at the other place for a while now, in my dreams, but there was another place, which was when I lived at the YMCA, I had like a studio apartment,

and there was a place there that I lived, and, which is ironic, because I never lived there, but also, it wasn't that, it was also, it was strange, I think, I think what it was, was my Nan's old place, my step-Nan's flat, because the layout is exactly the same, so I think that was the place, and, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that was the place, so, and that was just strange, so that hasn't been in my dreams for a long time, but there's this kind of, it's on a seafront,

I don't know what seafront, but there's this flat that I used to live in, which I never lived in, but in my dreams I lived in, and I'm not sure if any of this is making sense, but I keep going back to these scenarios, back to these places that I've never been before, and, yeah, and there's this one place that I move into, in my dreams, and I don't know, I genuinely don't know if this even happened, I mean, this might have actually happened, and I've forgotten about it,

it might be a place that I moved into, and I didn't live there for very long, or, somewhere that I lived when I was tiny, that I just remember the outlay, but I don't remember, you know, yeah, I don't know, who knows, but, someone, do you know, someone must know, but there's this route, this place I go into, and it's got all these different rooms, like lots and lots of different rooms, and I'm thinking, yay, I've got a lot of space here, so there's like this living room at the front,

as you walk in, and there's the bar, it's like a kitchen with a big kitchen bar thing, not bar as in alcohol, but a bar that you sit at and eat your breakfast, table, that'd be it, and then you go around, and there's another table, and go around there, and there's a bathroom, and then all the way around, there's this other bathroom that's really classy, really nice, and it's huge, really big area, and then I come in, and like, you know, I'm there, and I go out, and then I come in,

and there's people in there, and they said, no, we live over there, we live in that other part of the flat, where the bit that I'd looked at, your bit's there, over there, and we share in the living room, I said, but this is a council flat, we can't be sharing it, they said, yeah, yeah, we are, it must be a mistake, but you live in your bit, we live in our bit, and there's, I think there's like three different bunch of the people living there, and I was like, huh?

And I thought, I'm not staying here, but then I think I moved back into that place, and it's been changed in my dreams, this is, just remember, this is not real, it's about as real as anything else I say, me, me, me, me, and I was, I go into this place, there's no, there's hardly any electric, because I don't go there very often, it's a council flat, and it's on the ground floor, near, near something, I think it's near the beach, or near the shops, you know, possibly in London,

and I go in there, and there's lots of mail, because I hardly ever go there, because I'm living at another place, it's almost like I forget where I live, and that is kind of still got a similar outlay to the other place, but there's no one else living there, it's very messy, which does make sense, because I am particularly messy at times, but it's messy in a sense of not very livable, which is why I don't really like staying there, because it's not much, the bedding's not really there, there's not,

you know, it's not a livable situation, I mean here, it's livable, for me, other people probably not, but for me, you know, I get by, although Vinnie did say the other day, like, if you don't tidy up soon, I'm off, which I thought was a bit, a bit rude. Yeah, so we've got a few, oh, so I'm going to put in, excuse me, I'm going to put in YouTube, because I just came out of the page by accident, YouTube audio book videos, that's going to be my second one, because I just, yeah, I like it.

A third thing that I'm grateful for, what can I be grateful for? Maybe I should have done this before, before I started the recording, I'm a bit tired, even though I've just spent about two hours asleep, it's probably why I'm tired, so if I'd have done this before I started the recording, I could have just read it out, I could have just, I think I should have put my neighbour, rather than a cooked meal that I'd cooked for me by a neighbour downstairs, it was a roast dinner, quite a lot of information, isn't it, for a gratitude entry, but the second one is YouTube audio books videos.

Third, third, I'm going to put, I'm grateful that I'm feeling a bit better, I'm feeling better than I was earlier, that's fair enough, isn't it, that's a fair enough thing to be grateful for, I'm feeling better than I was earlier, by a long shot, so that's cool.

Wonderful, that's not me, that's the thing, so wonderful, here's your first gratitude entry, gratitude diary, date 27th, May 27th, 2024, one, a cooked meal by a neighbour downstairs, a roast dinner, YouTube audio book videos, feeling better than earlier, I'll keep this recorded and each day we can add three new things you're grateful for, feel free to come back whenever you're ready for your next entry.

Thank you. Should I do it before I start recording? Or should I do it, because it's taken half an hour. And how can thinking of three things I'm grateful for, take 30 minutes, that seems a bit strange.

Unless you remember who it is we're talking about, then maybe it's not strange. You know, if I didn't have a big conversation about dreams, stuff that hasn't actually happened, I just had this dream when I was just now that was just so strange. And it was just, it was almost like I was in a spiritual situation.

Maybe a Buddhist center or something like that. And, but there was also other people around. And, well, Vinnie just started barking there for a minute.

It's okay. Someone closed the door. I can't expect him to not respond to a door being closed.

I mean, don't we all? Every time I hear a door close, I was like, what's that? What's that? What's happening? What's happening? Yeah, we all do it, don't we? So I can't really complain. Plus, I remember before I got in, constantly I was moaning to my friends. And maybe on the podcast as well, constantly moaning.

Maybe you remember just how many times I was missing people closing the door. Like, I'm not sure if I heard it or not. You know, I need, I didn't know the comings and goings of every single person in this building.

And it used to bug me, but now I do. Now I do. It's great.

Absolutely perfection. Yeah. What? In a weird mood? What are you talking about? I'm not in a weird mood.

So today is the, I don't know, whatever day it is. It's May and it's a holiday. It's not quite the end of the month, but it's the end of the month on Friday.

So what's it? Tuesday. Friday is the 31st. Thursday is the 30th.

Wednesday is the 29th. Tuesday is the 28th. This must be the 27th.

And it's boxing again on Saturday. Let me, let's talk you through that. So it's May 1st boxing.

It's basically, basically it's the five for five. Are they calling it that? The five against five. Let me just check.

Uh, Friday the 31st of May. Oh, blimey. There's a fight early hours of the morning.

Saturday morning was Friday, but in America, it's Saturday morning here. And it is, oh, it's not for any, it's not for any title. Hmm.

So what, why is it, why is it on then? I know not everything has to be for a title, but I wonder why it's being televised. Hmm. Oh, okay.

I don't know. Maybe he's up in like rising star or something like that. That could be it.

Yeah, possibly. Really? So. Okay.

Makhmadov, Makhmadov, Makhmadov. Did I say that one or not? I don't remember. Oh yeah, I did.

I did. And he's, um. Because he fought.

Oh no. Okay, nope. Oh yeah, yeah.

So he was on a thing a couple of months back. Well, in December, he fought Ajit Kabayel. And this bloke.

Aslanabek Makhmadov. He's, he's a big old fella. He's just under six foot six.

And he just looks, he looks scary to be honest. You'd think that all heavyweight boxers would look scary, but he just looks scary. Very intimidating.

He's got that, he's got that old Mike Tyson intimidation thing going on. Where, and there's been a few, but it's not that many heavyweight boxers I think have had that. Like in, like my, in my kind of era.

The way they just looked really, really frightening. And, and a lot of them that even did, didn't. They didn't go on to be particularly successful.

But even people like Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe. Uh, Ali, Larry Holmes. None of them, I mean they were all like.

Scare, I mean it'd be scary if you had to. Have to fight them I guess, but you know they didn't look intimidating. Compared to Mike Tyson, he just had that intimidating factor.

And that's what this bloke's got. As Lenebeck Madoff. Probably saying his name wrong.

And also every single one of his fights apart from one has been by knockout. He's had 20 fights, but unfortunately he did lose. So that was knocked out as well, but he got knocked out.

By a bloke called Ajit Kabil. And the same thing is happening with him. That happens, that's happening with Usyk.

But why is everyone so surprised whenever Usyk wins? I don't get it. And they're surprised when this bloke wins. Like he's won every fight out of 25.

And before, okay, he didn't have like anyone, one person that I can see that I know of. That I've heard of on his, Kevin Johnson is the only one that I can see that he had on his list. Until he fought as Lenebeck Madoff.

And as Lenebeck, I keep trying to say his name, was supposed to win. Because he was, I think he was classed as a future heavyweight champion. And he may well be as well.

Well he got well and truly beaten by Ajit Kabil. And he got stopped in the fourth round. And everyone was so surprised.

So as Lenebeck came back, Ajit Kabil was on the next show in May. Not next show, but the one in May. So there was one in December, I think there was one in January and one in May in Dubai.

He was in the one in May and he fought Frank Sanchez, another undefeated future prospect. And he knocked him out in the seventh round. And they were like, oh.

And all the way, I don't know if they actually said, oh. But all the way through the fight, right from the start. Because I didn't realise who he was.

Because I've only seen him once before. I've seen Frank Sanchez before. But I didn't realise that it was Ajit Kabil.

And once I realised who it was, my whole attitude changed. Because I was going along with the commentators. This is for Frank Sanchez to lose.

He should win this easily. He's a top contender for the heavyweight title. And it's like, okay.

Unbeaten from, not Colombia. What's that country that's produced loads of Cuba? Loads of Olympic champions. And they were never allowed to go, they were never allowed to turn professional.

So he fights, he's originally from Cuba. Guantanamo. And he's 31, which is still fairly young for heavyweights.

Well, it's not young. The heavyweight champions are 35 and 37. Well, no, there's only one now, isn't there? 37 years old, Yusek.

So, and where does it say he fights out of? So he's held the Continental Americas heavyweight title since 2020. And it's not saying a huge amount about him, to be fair. But he's had some good fights over the, you know.

He's got a few more people on his thingy, you know, on his roster that he's beaten. Effie Ajegba, Christian Hammer, Junior Farr. So there's a few people that are known in the heavyweight division.

But, yeah, he got beaten. So, I suppose my point is, why, as soon as I remembered who he was, as soon as I remembered who Ajegba was, because I'd seen him in December, I was like, oh, well, he's going to win, isn't he? You know, why is everyone surprised that he's winning this fight against Frank Sanchez, just because they all decided that Frank Sanchez was going to win because he's the favorite?

But what about what he just did against a much younger man as well? Because the other bloke was, oh, no, I was wrong. No, he's 34.

Oh, OK. I wonder if there's any young heavyweights out there, are there? Kevin Johnson, 44. Whoa.

OK. Oh, well. So, I just, I don't know if it bugs me a little bit, that biased.

And I've seen boxing where the commentators have been so biased, and it's almost like they're ignoring the other boxer in the ring. I mean, there was one where, I don't even remember who it was. Who was it? I can't remember.

But I was watching it with Luke, and we were watching it. It was like, what are the commentators watching? Because clearly the other bloke was winning, like, every round. Outboxing, outpunching, everything.

He wasn't making the other bloke look silly, but he was clearly winning. But the other bloke was the favorite. He was the superstar.

And at the end of every round, oh, he's got that one. Referring to the superstar champion. Oh, he got that one, that's fine.

Another one in the bag, he's so good. He was in the Olympic. Like, they kept praising him all the way through, even though he was very clearly losing the fight.

And at the end, he lost the fight. He lost it on points. And the commentators, I think two of the commentators were like, I can't believe it.

And the third one, who had been saying all along, that, you know, the champion was brilliant, and everything like that. He changed his mind. He said, yeah, I saw that coming.

Like, no, you didn't. You were talking about, it's like, like they were hoping to get invited for dinner the next day to his house or restaurant. He might own a restaurant, I don't know.

A lot of bias. I mean, it's bias is human. It's human nature to be biased.

But I just like, what have you got to do? So I wonder if this bloke, this Ajit Kabbal, if he's going into his next fight, which has got to be a big fight, because he's now knocked down, well, knocked down two big names. In the, let me say, in the industry. I wonder where he's ranked.

So, here's we go. Who's... Ah, apparently Kabbal, the bloke, the good one we're talking about, he'd been sent a contract to fight Tyson Fury on the 5th of December, 2020. But it was ultimately cancelled due to complications with Fury's contractual disputes with Deontay Wilder because of the trilogy fight thing.

Just as well for Tyson Fury, I think. Mind you, I don't know if that was when he was, he was really... Yeah, that was a different Tyson Fury to the one today, I would say. Not in a bad way, just, they're all different, aren't they? But, I just, I would not be surprised if Kabbal goes on to win the World Heavyweight title.

Title? I was about to say championship and then I changed it. Title. Because he is, he's from Germany.

Levskusen Nordhain Westfalen, Germany. And he's 31, had 25 fights, 17 by KO, all wins. He's... He, where was he born? His parents are Kurdish origin.

Okay, so, but he's, well, from the looks of it, he was born in Germany, so he's German. So, and he holds the European Heavyweight title. Or he used to.

Against Derek Chisora. Blimey, I didn't even realize that. That was a majority decision, that was back in 2017.

It's taken him from 2011 to 2024, all wins, to get to this position. Which he, which means he must have had a big break. Oh, he's basically fighting once a year.

So, he started 2011, had 2 fights. 12, 2 fights. 13, 2 fights.

No, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4. 2014, 1, 2, 3. 2015, 1, 2. 2016, 2. Fights. 2017, 2. 2018, 1. 2019, 1. 20. 1 fight.

21, 1 fight. 22, 1 fight. 20.

So, basically, 18, 19, 20, 21. 4 years in a row, he had just 1 fight. He won all of them.

But, now he's got back into, and he had just 1 fight in 2022 as well. So, that's 18, 19, 20, 21, 22. 5 years, 5 fights.

Then, last year he had 2, and this year he's had 1. I mean, I suppose 2 isn't, 2 isn't like a terrible amount if you're a world champion. Sometimes they do 1 a year, which isn't really enough. But, if you're up and coming, usually, and I'm going this just from what I've seen in the past.

Is, the first heavyweights now, would normally do, they were doing like 6, 7 fights a year. To start with, just to get the resumes, just to get the numbers up, just the experience. So, they've done 25, I mean, literally, what's that? 12, 11, and it's the 11th, 23rd of June, 2011.

That's 13 years, 13 years. So, he was, and he's won, I mean, he may well have been ready for the world heavyweight title years ago. Like, literally, well, I mean, he was going to, wasn't he, like 2020.

But, it's still a long time, that's a long time. And, I'm surprised he can even earn a living doing that. Now, he's probably earning some good money, because he's fighting top, top, top, top people.

Unless, he's a hero in Germany, which means, every time he has a fight, it's a really big deal. So, he's getting paid good money to do it. So, I hope so.

So, I know there's these people that, boxers I've never heard of, that come, they come over here. So, they come to this country, or maybe go to America, or to Dubai, and they're having this fight. And, maybe they're, they're almost, maybe they're fighting for a world title for the first time.

But, they're a superstar in their own, maybe Denmark, or Johannesburg, or, I don't know, wherever they come from, wherever they're originally, where they live, they might be an absolute star. And, and that's good, because it means they'll be earning some good money. Because, there's a few domestic fighters, I mean, Derek Chisora is one of them.

Okay, he has fought for a world title twice. So, he's probably not a good example. Dillian White, okay, let's move him.

He, he fought for a world title, what, a couple of years ago, last year, whenever it was, Dillian White. But, before that, he hadn't fought for a world title. So, he was, he, he'd been around for quite a while, Dillian White.

And, he had quite a few huge domestic fights, where he'd earned millions. But, he never fought for a world title. And, he lost, he had a big domestic fight, 12th of December, 2015, against Anthony Joshua.

And, that was a remember, rememberable, rememberable, memorable, memorable occasion. It's weird, that was a year after I moved, no, blimey, it was the year I moved in there. Wow.

So, he turned pro in 2011 as well. But, he's, without being rude, he's pretty much at the end of his career. And, bearing in mind his age, he's, what is he, 30, he's 36, he's still not, I mean, U6, 37.

But, he's not, Jermaine Franklin's another one. I was watching him the other day, and I, oh, Jermaine Franklin. He's, and he was fighting a bloke, I was watching it, it was May 24th, so it's at the weekend.

And, he's beating Devin Vargas, and I was like, oh, they were expecting Vargas to win. This was another, one of those things, oh, Vargas is going to win, but Devin's doing, Jermaine's doing alright. He's doing alright, I suppose.

And, then he goes on to win it. And, then I remembered, because I didn't realise who he was. He, basically, some would argue, won against both Dillian White and Anthony Joshua.

To them both's distance, some would say, he, he did enough to win. But, he was among their hardest opponents ever. As far as, you know, like, boxing wise, not, you know what I mean.

So, not, not as in, he didn't knock them out, but. So, yeah, I just found that strange, that they were, like, writing him off. And, because he, he beat Anthony Joshua, erm, 2023, but it wasn't for a world title.

He didn't beat, he didn't beat Anthony Joshua, sorry, no, he didn't beat him, but he, he took him a distance, and he was very good. And, the reason, I think, because Dillian White fought him, the reason Anthony Joshua fought him, because, I think the idea was, them two were going to get together and fight. Dillian White was set to fight Tyson Fury for the world title.

And, I think the idea was, if they, if he won, he'd then fight Anthony Joshua, you know, for the world title, and there'd be a rematch between the two of them. Didn't go to plan. Erm, but, yeah, I found it very strange, because, especially as Dennis Vargas lost quite a few, just looking at it, quite a few.

And, they were both good, but, oh dear, all the people he lost to were, and that's what they kept saying, yeah, but everyone he's lost to is a big name. So, he lost to Andrew Rees. Isn't that weird, they've not even updated his thing.

There was a time, there was a time, and I'm not going to do it myself, because I don't, I don't want to get too involved, but, on Wikipedia, there would be, you know, as soon as a fight had finished, the Wikipedia page would be updated. It was almost like magic, but there's a person doing it. Well, they've not updated his page, Devin Vargas.

The last fight he had on here was 2018. Which can't be the last fight he had. Surely.

That's five years, isn't it? Maybe I'm getting confused. This wouldn't be the first time, I think. I'm not sure.

Just have a look, what's my, so my subscribers, subscribers has gone 1,186 on YouTube. So it's gone up again, but I wonder if it'll go down again once I start uploading more stuff. I've not uploaded anything new today, and I'm not sure if I did anything yesterday either.

26, oh, yeah, I did. Yeah, I did yesterday, but nothing today, because I thought I'd just give everyone a little chance to catch up, you know. I've now got 452 videos on YouTube.

And I've been uploading a deep sleep whisper hypnosis videos that I've got. There's still probably about 20 left to upload, maybe more. Yeah, we'll just see, we'll see.

It's been, it's been a weird day today. It's just been strange, I don't know. It's just, it's a Monday.

It's a bank holiday Monday. It's, it's really not a lot of people about. I don't, I don't need in my home.

Although there was, there was more people about yesterday. I guess I had four people in here yesterday. I normally don't have anyone for weeks.

So it just, yeah, it's fine. So, so, so, so, how many times have I said so today? Hmm. And that's it really.

It's just that's kind of the update. I haven't done a lot. I took Vinnie, took Vinnie, you know, through his thingy earlier.

He's been out twice, I think, today. And I'm trying to think what else. Yeah, I just because I woke up at, I think I woke up at five o'clock in the morning.

I came in like normal. And I yawned, of course. And I started to do the editing, which I've done for what, 31 days in a row.

And I just thought, oh, no. It's just too. I think it would have been entertaining.

But at the same time, it's really hard to judge. Because I have to have a certain, certain bit of faith in myself that I'm not going to say anything too wrong when I make these. However, when I'm in a conversation with someone.

And so I'm reacting to what they're saying or responding. Probably reacting, not in a reactive way, but just in a reacting way. And not everything that comes out of my mouth is necessarily PG.

Or, you know, I don't know, just, you know, sometimes I say the odd naughty word. Every now and then. That's what makes me laugh.

Okay, what makes me laugh? I watch boxing. Oh, he's still talking about boxing again. Yeah, but this is this is seriously listen to this funny.

Well, I find it funny. In the corner. So in between rounds, sometimes, if we're lucky, and they decide not to show adverts, even though they've charged money to watch it.

And never mind. So they, they'll show the corner and the referee and the corner people, the boxer and their cornerman or women. They're usually men.

Even with the women, they're usually men. It's true. Just the way it is.

The ones I've seen anyway. I haven't seen every single fight that's ever on, to be honest. And quite often they swear.

Get this mother flopper. And, you know, they're saying a lot of swear words because they're getting very aggressive and stuff. And then the commentator says, we'd like to apologize to to the audience at home for the for the foul language, the swearing.

And I'm thinking, okay. They're basically what about the violence? If you're gonna if if the audience watching this is going to be offended by some naughty words. Why are they watching it? Because they're watching two human beings.

Pummeling the out of each other. Why would they? You know, but I'm so sensitive. They said they said Willie.

I don't like the word Willie. No, it's you know, it's just seems weird to me. Although my funniest corner experience, I think I've ever seen on TV.

Is. It was two heavyweights fighting each other. I think it was like a big fight.

It was like a big, big, big fight. And the cornerman that one at one of the boxes was getting beaten like like. He was basically on his way to finishing like to being pulled out.

So. This boxer that was completely exhausted and. The fight wasn't going his way.

He was sitting there. And his cornerman, which I guess was his trainer. Which he stood up.

He came into the ring pointed to the opponent. He said, look, he's got bigger tits than your mom. He's got you're going to let someone with bigger tits than your mom beat you.

This is what he said. Honestly, it's not my wording, not my wording. It's what he said in an American accent.

Because this bloke was a big, quite large and busty, I guess. But the way and it was. I don't know.

It's so funny to see because you just it's like, what's the next thing that's going to come out of his mouth? You would not have expected that. Maybe if you knew him, you would. But he was literally pointing.

He was practically walking up to the other boxers. Look, look at them. Look at them.

You're going to let him beat you. You really want that on your record, your boxing record. And.

He needs a bra. He needs a bra. You're going to get beaten by someone who needs a bra.

I just want to point out that female boxing wasn't really a thing back then. This was in the 90s, I think. And although there were female boxers, I know there was, but.

Not in this country. I think it was illegal in this country, to be honest. Like when.

When did female. Female boxing become legal, become legal in the UK. UK.

Here we go. A brief history. Women's boxing in the UK.

So. It's been around for centuries, you know. But not in the format it's in.

The UK can be traced back to London in the early 18th century. Informal bare knuckle fighters often took place. In the 1700s and in London, all female contests were also documented.

So it's not. You know, it's not. The first ever record of a female boxer was London at Elizabeth Wilkinson Stokes.

Known at the time as the European championess of boxing. Championess. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine that? And now.

The new. WBA. Welterweight.

Championess of the world. There'd be a riot. So it goes back all the way.

But. For 116 years, the law prevented female involvement in organized boxing. So like professional boxing was not, women were not allowed anywhere near it.

After the Amateur Boxing Association was formed, the ABA, more rules and legislation prevented female boxing. Wow. Even when all female fights were allowed, like in 1904 Olympics, they were restricted to non-competition exhibition bouts.

So they weren't even, they were there, but they weren't even allowed. Wow. OK.

Generally women were discouraged from boxing. OK. In 1926, an exhibition fight between Annie Newton.

Was that the European champion? Nope. Annie Newton and Madge Baker was arranged at Shoreditch Baths Hackney. However, the match was shut down by Shoreditch Council after Hackney Mayor Rev W Evans raised condoms and concerns about the fight.

The next bit. The limited opportunities for female boxing remained until growing frustrations among some female boxers led to action and some upheaval in the late 1990s. This is the UK by the way.

I know Muhammad Ali's daughter was a boxer in America. So I don't know quite how it panned out in America. But in the UK, no no no no no.

So Jane Couch spent, and she's pretty much the most, the UK's like first boxer kind of, I think. So she spent much of her early career boxing against men or going overseas to fight in countries where the sport was legal. Because you couldn't find anyone in the UK.

Jane Couch. Her main frustration came from being turned away from gyms in the UK. And she knew drastic change was needed.

So during a TV interview, Couch spoke out against the British Board of Boxing Control's restrictions on female boxing. Shortly afterwards, two lawyers contacted Couch to change the rules. And after two years of building a case, it all went through.

And it was a sexual discrimination act in 1996. Wow, she won the case and a ban on female boxing was lifted in 1996. So in 1996, the Amateur Boxing Association of England first allowed women to join and compete at affiliated clubs.

So when I say it's fairly new, I know for anyone in their 20s or 30s, 1996 is a long time ago. I mean it still is quite a long time ago, but you know, if you think of boxing with men going back as far, even on, you know, I think there's televised versions of boxing over 100 years ago. So, 96, 2006, 2016, so it's what 28 years, 28 years that it's been legal.

And it took a while for, it took a while for it to really grow. But by 2018, it says here between 2018 and 2019, the number of women actively boxing grew by nearly 70,000 compared to the previous two years, the previous, you know, year period. And then I think a lot to do that is because of the Olympics, because we started, British fighters started winning the Olympics.

You had like Natasha Jonas, first female boxer to represent team JGB, really, 2012. However, days later, Nicola Adams created another landmark moment when she won the first ever woman's gold in boxing at the Olympics. And Nicola Adams, so they're both retired now, I think.

And then you've got Savannah Marshall, Katie Taylor, Olympic fighters. So yeah, so really, it's a new, it's kind of a new sport. It's not really new, because clearly it's been going on for centuries.

But as far as being legal in the UK, it's quite new. So when I say it's quite new, that's what I mean. Okay, thank you very much.

I mean, you don't have to call me a historian, a boxing historian, but somebody said that to me the other day. Are you a boxing historian or something? Because I kind of said, well, because he said, oh, how often do people lose a world title and then win it back? I said, well, I can probably list about 10 people, 10 occasions just sort of top of my head.

You're right, I mean, admittedly, it doesn't happen that often.

But it has happened. And it's happened quite recently. And you're a historian, you're a boxing historian, are you? I said, no, I'm here to buy a KitKat.

I'm a KitKat lover. I'm a KitKat eating KitKat lover. I love chocolate.

That was before I found out that perhaps I shouldn't be eating so many KitKats. I have to change my nickname. I'm a former KitKat lover, KitKat licker, KitKat eater, KitKat chocolate lover.

Yeah, that's it. There's nothing left to say. What was I even talking about? Boxing, I can't remember.

Oh, this boxing the 1st of June. OK, let's go back to this because I'm excited about this. 1st June, boxing.

Boxing. There's three of the fights I really want to watch. And it's basically, I think they're calling it 5 for 5. And I forget.

Oh, I've already talked about this. I don't understand. I have talked about this before.

Because Wa Dui and Zhang are now the headliner. According to this. But Bivol was the headliner before when he was unifying the world titles.

And he's still a world champion. Pound for pound world champion. And now they've got him way down the list.

And now they've got two people that have both lost their last two fights. Both lost their last two fights as the headliners. Wa Dui and Zhang.

Now, I'd be lying if I didn't say that was the one I was looking forward to most. Because it is. And that's the thing.

It probably is for everyone that's watching the show now. It wasn't Bivol and Berbetyev. I can't say his name.

Berbetyev. When they were unifying. That was the one I was looking forward to.

And then I was looking forward to Wa Dui and Zhang. But now. I mean there's also Dubois, Herkovich.

I'm looking forward to that one. Bivol. Well Bivol is fighting a bloke called Zinad.

Which he's also. I'm not sure if he's unbeaten or not. Yes he is.

Oh exactly the same 22-0. So it's Bivol. It's going to be a great fight.

Bivol is brilliant. Class. Class fighter.

Class boxer. He's one of my favourites. So.

It's kind of weird. I do find it strange that. They've done that.

It seems a bit disrespectful towards Bivol. To me. That they've not put him as the headliner.

Or they've taken him off being a headliner. Well I didn't just take him off the show altogether. Until Berbetev.

Berbetev. Whatever his injuries healed. And then had that fight.

You know. It just. He's.

You might think what were you making a big deal about it. Well. Bivol.

Right. His last. When was his last two fights.

Okay. When was his last fight. And he beat Linden Arthur.

Who was. A formal. I'm pretty sure he's.

He's like really good. So. He's a formal world title challenger.

I think. And his last other fights. He fought Canelo.

And beat Canelo. And he fought. Okay.

Here we go. Here we go. Linden Arthur.

Then before that he. He beat Gilberto. Zerdo.

Ramirez. Who was unbeaten. Former.

Super world. It was a formal world champion as well. Unbeaten.

And he beat Canelo Alvarez. As well. Before that.

In 2022. He also beat Craig Riches. Which is actually on this bill.

I think. Craig yes he is. So.

Every fight is going to be good. Ford. And Ball.

This is the WBA world featherweight championship. And. Ford.

1501. 1901 Ball. So this is going to be Raymond Ford.

So he's a big name in America. Okay. They're all big.

They're all big fights. They're all headlining fights. Most of them to be fair.

But. And Wilder Zhang. Zhang.

I think we pronounce it wrong. We. Me.

But still. That would be a headliner. Even though they both lost their last two fights.

I don't think there's anyone in boxing. That doesn't want to see that fight. Seriously.

If they say they don't want to see it. I think. As you get closer to Saturday night.

They'll be like their toes will be itching. Like. The two biggest.

Punches in heavyweight boxing. Pretty much. Okay.

Maybe. And ironically. They've both been beaten by the same man.

Josie Parker. Which makes me wonder. Why is he not on this bill? Maybe he needed a rest.

But he beat Zhang. No. He beat Wilder.

In December. And then he beat Zhang in. May.

No. May now isn't it? I don't know when it was. But he beat them back to back.

Basically. He just beat them. One after another.

Not directly. With a couple of months in between. But I thought he'd want to.

Surf that wave. It must be annoying. Because.

You think if he. He might have been offered. To be on the bill.

And then get told that. Actually he won't be the headliner. Because the two people the headliners.

Are his two last opponents. That doesn't. Just doesn't feel right does it? But I beat both of them.

Literally. I'm their last opponents. And I beat both of them.

And they're above me on the bill. How does that work? In a New Zealand accent. So.

Dubois. He did really well last time. He fought Yousic.

And then. He came back. And he beat.

Who the heck did he beat? Oh. Miller. Darrell Merrill Miller.

He beat him. And so. That was that was good.

So yeah. There's a lot of unbeaten fighters on there. Hamza.

Hamza. And. 25.

Did. Did. Did.

Did. And. Right.

It should be good. The whole night should be good. I wonder if it's going to be another 7 hour one though.

Because. It's weird. There's only two weeks since the last one.

Because I think this is in Dubai as well. Wow. So.

Is it in Dubai? I think it is and then there's gonna be a really big night in America and they're put America putting on like a multiple world title fight as well like lots of different fights big big names I guess trying to compete with Dubai so I mean really I'm guessing quite a few fighters would say well you know just give us a percentage give us a percentage so you know the outlay isn't that as high as what it probably I'm guessing Dubai just pays the fighters doesn't give them a percentage maybe apart

from the headliners maybe they get their best pay day they're ever gonna get ever but they have the money to play with they have the money not the fighters but the Dubai have the money to put this stuff on a short notice I mean they've actually I'm pretty sure they built an arena or more than one arena for the the fights in December with Tyson against Ngannou I'm pretty sure they actually built an arena or multiple arenas for that oh that's just like wow wow oh so I'm gonna go I

want to say thank you for listening sorry I managed to keep it going for another half an hour after I said I was finishing remember to be kind to yourself be gentle with yourself because you deserve to be happy lots of love bye
