Hello, hello, hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name is Jason Newland and this is your um I don't know what what is it what is what is this? It's a relaxation kind of sleepy kind of calm kind of blog kind of nonsense boring thing. That's what it is.

So um happy Mother's Day for those that are celebrating Mother's Day today in the UK of England and Commonwealth Britain um we are well we celebrate Mother's Day here. I don't know if you well first I don't know if you celebrate Mother's Day in your country secondly I don't know if it's today. Some people call it Mothering Sunday.

Some people call it well I haven't got a mum where's my mum where's all those presents she owes me. That's what I would say. Someone said to me once what would you say I've ruined it now because I've just said it but what would you say if you actually met your mum because I haven't seen this since I was six just before I was seven.

What would you say if you if you met your mum after all these years and that is what I'd say where are all my presents all those Christmas presents all those birthday presents all those easter eggs wow can you imagine it she would literally literally literally literally need to turn up with about four lorries full of stuff and you may say yeah but a lot of this is gonna be kids stuff don't care I still want it yeah but it's it's an abacus I don't care I want it but the

chocolate's gone off I don't care I still want it I don't care if when I open the the easter egg it jumps out at me and bites my leg I don't care I want the chocolate I want whatever was owed whatever's owed me I want it I want want want want want want so yeah well I didn't know I was going to go in this direction so before I proceed I'd like to say thank you to the following person I'd like to say thank you to Paul for your PayPal gift

thank you very much and I will send you an email hopefully you'll receive that I don't always know if the emails are received and I do you know I get concerned about that sometimes for well for a very short short period of time but it does concern me because I don't want people to think that I've not responded you know um what do I have to say for a very short period of time it makes me sound so callous so yeah Mother's Day has always been a weird a weird time

for me it's just generally I just uh I've had so many mothers I have a stepmother my second stepmother and she's great uh I've been I mean really I've been very lucky apart from you know with stepmothers I've been very lucky uh my first stepmum I had when I was well from 7 to 16 and uh so that was what nine years so and she was great and then my second stepmum I had since the age of 17 until now so I mean they weren't my dad didn't marry marry her until I was 20.

Or was I 21? I might have been 21 at that point I'm pretty sure it was the August 1991 unless it was 1992 I think it was 1991 that would make sense to me but it might be 1992 but I think it was 91 so they've been married since was it 91 92 93 94 94 so 91 2001 2011 2021 blimey that's over 12 years they've been married for over that's a long time so no no no no no no back it up back it up it's 33 years yeah 33 years is over 12

years see I'm going to continue with that I've been saying that for the last 30 years and I'm going to keep saying it because it's annoying I know I know can't help myself I'm basically a child so yeah I um what I've been doing today today today today today I record I basically I've been going through some of my recordings something this has been um a little complaint some people have made especially on YouTube over the years with the hypnosis relaxation sleep stuff you know that kind of stuff that I

ramble I ramble a bit too much and that's just my style and that's what I do here and I'm not that's not going to change when I do these recordings I mean can you imagine if it's like I just had a list of things to say to you yep by my stepmom the first step on was from 1977 until 1986 beginning of 87 and then 19 uh the second one was 1988 probably about April time until now and which is precisely 33 years and four months and then my yeah and

I went and had some dinner I had a pizza I cooked it for 43 minutes it was burnt I didn't realize it was going to be burnt until I actually said I cooked it for 43 minutes and that was a bit silly because I had to go into the oven for about 12 minutes but let's move on you know I don't want to do a recording like that uh just that isn't really me however you know I've got to listen to what people say and what I do these Let Me

Bore You To Sleep recordings believe it or not are not that popular on YouTube the hypnosis stuff I mean nothing I do is particularly popular but um the the hypnosis relaxation stuff is they're the recordings that people seem to like on YouTube the Let Me Bore You To Sleep uh I think people are happy to just you know not be bothered with them which is a little bit of a shame just maybe a little bit a little bit but it's okay because things are going okay and I've started uh the

subscribers going up and everything and I've now got one thousand where is it 1161 so since the was it since the 3rd of March 1138 it's now the 10th of March so it's just gone up 38 48 58 so that's 23 I know it's not a huge amount I know that um but it's it's just been going up for some reason the last you know 10 days or so which I'm not going to complain about obviously I mean why would I complain but what I've been doing is just uploading the

relax and sleep hypnosis daily recordings and I just released one a day I mean they're old recordings technically not that old but there's what 230 I think I've got them so I'm just going to release one a day I have to make the video so it takes a bit of while to do a bit a while it takes a while to do and I don't know if I'm going to bother uploading anymore the Let Me Bore You To Sleep because even when I upload I did a video and I like

literally spent ages well not ages but it took quite a long time to go from making the video to uploading it when it was still a podcast that was done but this was the 6th of March it was four days ago and I've had 20 views zero likes that was the curly whirly recording it was an hour and 23 minutes long and just it doesn't seem a lot of point really putting I think I think what it is and I don't mean this maybe is derogatory towards myself but I don't

think people want to look at my face which is fair enough I don't blame them I mean I don't I don't spend half as much time staring in the mirror as I used to I mean now I probably don't do it for more than about five hours a day so it's maybe it's you know but then if I'm looking at this I'm looking at one of my podcasts it's one of the more popular ones of late on my recordings videos I put on there and it's number seven relax and sleep

it matches daily um the 7th of March so it's three days ago three days ago and it's had 385 views but 50% of people don't like it so there's three likes and only 50% so 50% of three people didn't like it three people did like it there's been two comments I'm not sure what I think it was a positive comment so it just shows that maybe baby I don't know I'm not really sure where I'm going with this but I'm just gonna just continue to make the videos the very basic

videos with the audio no music can't have music in the background because I get done for copyright even though the music is copyright free but hey there you go and so there's no infringement at all so I've got another what's the day 10th 11th 12th so two more recordings going to be uploaded one at midnight tonight and one at midnight tomorrow night and then I have to make some more so I'll just continue to do that and upload them for the next or for the rest of the year I guess

yeah but what other things I've done is I might be going over old ground now because I might have already talked about this I've been using a I found I mean I didn't found it I didn't I'm not the only person that's ever used it but it's an AI called turboscribe.ai and it's transcribing my audio recordings and right now it's transcribing numbers 301 to 350 and that's over 50 hours worth of recordings probably yeah probably 55 hours I'd say of recordings and doing each individual recording transcribing it into pdf file

with all the times time slots and everything so I've gone in and I've checked because I thought I wonder if there's a limit to these unlimited I'm paying to use this thing but I want to just make sure I don't like use too much and I looked at the terms and conditions read all the small print and it's fine as long as I'm not copying recopying stuff copying other people's stuff which I'm not it's mine it's me as long as I'm not transcribing other people's recordings podcasts I'm not transcribing the

same stuff over and over again why would anyone do that but so someone's just like a 10 hour recording but keep transcribing the same thing so I'm not doing that everything's only I've had to transcribe a few things more than once because I've got the settings wrong but that was only that was the only reason for that I didn't realize I had it on Polish instead of English yeah yeah yeah it's an easy mistake to make well it couldn't well I don't do anything complicated so it must have been easy

trust me and I could not figure out what I'd done I couldn't it just kept coming down as being I didn't well I don't speak Polish I don't speak any other language I mean I probably possibly would have I would have noticed if it was something like Chinese or Japanese because I do know some of the the type of um I you know I know a little bit about some of the what it looks like that's what I mean I'm trying to put it diplomatically but I'm I'm not being rude

anyway I'm just I mean I've got my book the teachings of the Buddha and that's in Japanese each page is in Japanese and in English so I know what Japanese looks like I can't read Japanese but I know what it looks like and I know what Chinese writing looks like although there is Mandarin there's different types I think but then I think I know what Russian looks like I think and I would say I can tell because of the words I could tell French because even though I didn't learn any

French I did have French lessons at school right from when I was young well I was I was at school when I was young wasn't I really but you know I mean when I was about nine ten nine or ten they started trying to teach not just me but everyone in the class and I went focusing me out I didn't have a spotlight on me I just yeah I mean my attitude was like it was interesting it was I thought oh this is quite nice but why are we still having

English lessons if we're now learning I mean that would be almost like learning to ride your bike without the stabilizers and having that lesson but the rest of the time having the stabilizers on like learning to ride your bike without you know like you're doing well but put the stabilizers on it's like let me learn it's nothing like that at all is it really it's not a good analogy English I was still learning English that's what I'm saying I was still and I still still I don't I don't I'd say

probably average at best when it comes to any subject really but English average at best most other subjects I've taught myself so anything historic I mean I'm pretty sure some of the stuff did soak in I was sitting there biting me nails looking out the window imagine I was a bird I don't know whatever I used to do an albatross and the stuff was being said they were talking about you know Romans and agriculture and stuff like that so I it probably did sink in some of it and I've seen

enough TV and films based on historical stuff because there was a lot of that when I was a kid there was a lot a lot of biblical stories and there was Ben Hur the Vikings there with what's his name Kirk Douglas and what's his name what's the other bloke's name he always used to do acrobatics Kurt uh Tony Curtis and Tony Curtis there was so Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis was in the Vikings but then there was another bloke that was really acrobatic but he couldn't talk or at least he

couldn't talk in the movies let's see if I remember this right because this is a movie that I probably haven't seen for 30 odd years Vikings the Vikings well that's weird I put in Viking a shock comes up it's not what I was looking for I wasn't looking for that Vikings the movie there was seafaring people okay if I put in the movie movie but then it might be the 20 best Viking movies of all time Valhalla Dutch animated Viking movie released in 1986 no it's not the one I want

videos Eric the Viking okay nope it's not it Viking 2019 or the bloke from uh um blood blue blood blood vampire blood true blood true blood Viking I'm now looking at Viking blood blimey the Vikings film 1958 that's the one that is the one I didn't realize it was the 1958 wow I thought it was the 60s I know it's not a lot of difference I mean it is nearly 1960 so Kirk Douglas Tony Curtis see I was I did say that didn't I Janet Leigh I didn't know Janet Leigh

was in it um Ernest Borgnine James Donald Alexander Canox and Frank Thring there there there there let's have a look cast the Ragnar Lodbrok Lodbrok Janet Leigh is Morgana James Donald Egbert Egbert so who is the list oh look Kirk Douglas's production company produced a 1959 television series Tales of the memory tells I don't see this the king is Juniper King the boy grows yummy Eric uh who's because I do believe this is what I believe it might not be true but I believe that one of the actors was basically

an acrobat so I think Tony Curtis used to be an acrobat maybe Kirk Douglas did as well and early life maybe he didn't okay right okay he's got nothing about him being an acrobat here maybe he's just really really good at all that stuff oh how weird that he was so so been not bendy it's probably not the right word um uh what's the right word oh he married Janet he married Janet Leigh I wonder if he met her in the the movie you know the I guess he's a he's

gonna met her in a movie isn't he oh he's not around anymore I didn't realize he wasn't allowed oh um blimey 14 years ago I used to like him I used to like Tony Curtis so what about Kirk Douglas was he was he an acrobat someone must be an acrobat um nope he's not around either is he 2020 blimey 103 years old wow so neither neither of them were acrobats someone was an acrobat that's it I'm not moving on till I've nope it wasn't him Alexander Knox nope I tell you

what I'm gonna do I'm gonna search I'm gonna search for the acrobat acrobat um I'm not gonna put you what else I put in there um Vikings because I know that there was a pretty sure pretty sure there was quite a few moves that they did together oh I never mind I don't care anymore I really cared for a minute and then I stopped I tell you what I did love watching is Vikings the TV show on I don't think it was on Netflix was it I think the second the

the vowel the next one was on there but other than that is it Valhalla Valhalla Valhalla Net Netflix um but the original one I think I watched on I think it was on I think yeah Amazon I'm pretty sure so Vikings Valhalla there's two two seasons I need to revisit that because I loved it I loved Vikings and the TV show and I just really I just loved it baby loved it don't ask me why I just loved it I couldn't help it I just loved it so overview I'm trying

to get out of this just let me out so what I've done is I have been playing around and I thought what can I do to appease maybe some of the YouTube people as far as making some recordings without me rambling on you know regarding relaxation or sleep recordings the hypnosis stuff so I found well I didn't again I didn't find it but I I knew about it before there's a tool again kind of AI you know me I love the AI called Descript podcast editing well it's Descript you can

do videos and podcasts so basically what you can do is you can just open it up you can download or upload rather an audio recording and I did that and I think it was about 30 minutes long and I edited it down by reading the text so you can play it and read it at the same time and you can take words out you can also add words so if the if it hasn't come out so well you can record a word into the thing which I'm probably not going to

be doing but so I edited edited the recording from about 30 let me just see I want to get this right now because I'm a bit curious 30 30 minutes how long was it 35 minutes 31 seconds and I got it down to 9 minutes 56 seconds by cutting out the waffle and there was still some waffle in there so I basically got it down to its bare bones so it was a relaxation recording it kept all the relaxation in it still was slow and but it didn't have me talking

about Andre or talk this this is I had Andre at the time I think when I did the first one of them it was relax stress anxiety and panic attacks so I edited the first one of them and came out of a completely different recording but it's that said it's a bare bones recording and I called it journey to inner calm a guided relaxation experience and it's it's no music it's just on its own and it says this session guides you through a comprehensive relaxation journey again it's not my wording

I thought okay I use the tools I got available so give me a description I put the transcript in of what I'd got it down to put the transcript in the chat gpt it said give me a summary the first summary they gave me was let me read it here so I'm giving you all my little secrets but they're not really secrets but you know I don't use any of this stuff when I do the Let Me Bore You To Sleep I don't I mean I don't know how I would

I mean I suppose if I if I went on a rant you know if suddenly I went on a rant or maybe to be fair I probably could make it make the podcast a bit more smoother possibly if I used to take if I used this tool for these but I do the editing different with this I just I know which bits I want to delete I delete you know I've got a way of knowing when when there's I've got a specific little doggy in my house that likes to bark

sometimes right now he's pressed against my leg and my foot and he's enjoying himself on a bone he's a very happy little boy and occasionally licking his parts which he is now some yeah anyway so I don't what was the point of what I was saying yeah um yes I've got my own way of editing these I'm not going to do anything about that I'll just leave it as it is so what I did is when I made the recording I said I posted a transcript which was 10 minutes long

and I wrote um all right oh relax take it till it does it it's pretty relaxed okay just can you write a summer a summary of this podcast and chat gpt comes up with this it says that was a beautifully crafted relaxation script script script guiding someone through a relaxation exercise like this is an art form see he likes me he really does focus in attention on each body part or each part of the body in turn to foster a deep sense of calm you can tell these aren't my words

okay I don't I don't talk like this I don't talk that flowery or that nicely maybe your words serve not just to relax the physical body but also to engage the mind gently encouraging a state of introspection and gratitude the gradual progression from physical relaxation to mental and emotional tranquility can help listeners to detach from their daily stresses and find a peaceful state of being I need to get this to write my scripts don't I because it's way better than me and this kind of guided relaxation can be especially useful

in today's fast-paced world providing a much needed break for both the mind and body it taps into the power of the unconscious mind reinforcing the idea that relaxation and healing are not only about the physical aspects but also deeply connected to our mental and emotional states ending the session with the promise of relaxation upon hearing your voice or watching your videos is a powerful suggestion that can help to anchor these feelings of calm and well-being making them more accessible to listeners in their daily lives it really makes me sound quite

good I mean I'm not am I so it's like wow I don't want to listen to that person like god they must be pretty good so what I did I said well it's it's it's talking to me so I said write a summary for the listener and it's written I wouldn't bother listening to this it's a bunch of crap and go listen to a proper hypnotist I was like wow I can't what was it how can they say that I didn't they said this session guides you through a comprehensive relaxation

journey starting with the invitation to close your eyes and tune into your physical sensation it emphasizes the natural ability of your unconscious mind to support your needs particularly focusing on your intention to relax as you listen the script methodically addresses each part of your body from your shoulders down to your toes encouraging each area to release tension and relax deeply I'm finding my voice moving into Alfred Hitchcock throughout this process you're invited to simply notice how you feel allowing the words spoken to facilitate the gentle and natural easing of both

physical and mental stress this approach not only helps in achieving a state of relaxation but also fosters a sense of gratitude and openness to positive changes I would like to thank you for watching today's episode of what happened in the shoe cupboard okay this the session it concludes with a comforting assurance that future encounters with the speaker's voice video did okay and I'll get bored with that now so and then I thought I did that I did that I thought okay give it a title gave it a title so I

thought okay well put that title journey to inner calm a guided relaxation experience that's based on the summary so it's based this is you know so the summary is based on the content the title is based on the summary and then the I thought okay let's go all the way through for it can can you create a podcast image for this and it did so create a podcast image journey to inner calm and there is a bit of the bottom which it was spelt wrong so I did edit the image

I did say can you do a version with my name in it and I don't know what it says journey to j n i e r e r calm a guided relaxation experience there's three x's and that's in the word experience and then my name right at the bottom in tiny tiny letters how dare them so yeah the thing is you say oh so it must have only taken you 10 minutes took me about two hours because the editing of the recording took ages really did take a time because I

had to mold the recording from 35 minutes down to 10 to quiet because that was my target 10 minutes it took a lot of work to do that it's a lot of like what is what's the most important thing and I didn't want to leave out the gaps and the pauses because that's part of what I do you know I didn't want it just to be like one long sentence because that's that's just not relaxing so I still needed to start off and get slower as it went along and I

managed I pulled it off I managed to do it to do it and it was okay and it's going to suit some people that don't want to listen to half an hour or hour long recordings because there are people who would prefer to just listen to a 10 minute recording and that's fair it's fine and I want to try and to offer something for everyone I prefer the longer recording myself but that's just because I take so long to do it you know I'm a I don't know what am I

a blabberer a blabberer I go on and on and on that's just what I do I can't help it it's how I am I've got no control over it but it's okay I don't mind you know it's just how things are and I'm okay with that but at the same time I guess it's like if you've got if you've got a shop and you sell cakes say this for example because that would be the ideal shop for me because I love cakes so you sell cakes you can't only sell cakes

that you like I mean you can but you're going to be missing out a big chunk of customers that for example they might like cakes which has peanut butter in it and because I'm not really a big fan of peanut butter and I wouldn't eat a cake with peanut butter in it so I'm not so I'm not going to have a peanut butter cake then what about the people that like peanut butter cake or peanut butter with cake in it I don't know whatever you want to call it now I

don't know if there's any such thing as a peanut butter cake a Marmite cookie oh that just sounds disgusting it sounds wrong I mean I you know it's like it's weird they the whole advertising for Marmite was love it or hate it but I just found very strange how difficult it was to enjoy Marmite I think what it is is if you've got a sweet tooth you might not enjoy Marmite I think that's possibly where we're going with that if you've got a sweet tooth um maybe yeah would that make

sense I think yeah if you've got a sweet tooth if you don't have a sweet tooth then um maybe if you because some people hard to believe but some people prefer again I'm really struggling with this some people prefer savory things to you know sweet things now I kind of understand it a little bit hello and welcome to check right I just pressed play on my recorder just by accident damn you I didn't expect that to happen nobody expects that to happen Jason oh shut up Jason right okay he just

started playing on its own I'm pretty sure this computer's got a mind just does what he wants sometimes I don't understand why so yeah I'm just that's what I've been doing today I realize it wasn't a very exciting story to be honest but just sort of looking looking to see what can I do um to improve things to to move forward because I've got it's not that I'm stagnant it's just to be fair there's been some stuff happened over the last well last year or so really but over the last

period of time when I started to think well I do need to progress in some way I need to move forward we know what progress means yeah okay fair enough but I do need to I just I feel that I'd like to I don't know what the right word is maybe learn English I know English I just don't know all the words yet and I know robust do you know how I know robust it's because I hear it every time I turn a radio or television on someone's saying robust every

time I watch the news someone's saying robust shut up already and not fit for purpose that's another thing I kept hearing for forever don't hear that so often but you know some people say like they really feel proud of themselves they look like I just said not fit for purpose you think I'm clever now waiting to wait until after the break when I say robust blimey what's the other one oh yeah and then I'm going to say unprecedented that's the one yeah this is unprecedented stop it stop it why am

I transcribing all my recordings okay fair enough that's a good question well here's the thing here's the thing here's the thing I basically this has gone quite quickly hasn't it it's weird I started this recording and I think I started recording it's 15 minutes when I started it and now it's one hour and three minutes I haven't said hardly a thing so how has it gone so quick I don't get it I don't I really don't so there's this other AI app tell us more about the AI apps really okay

if you are if you insist there's another one um and so I've got the one these are the different AI apps and unfortunately they all cost money but they all do a job and it's helping me to I'm hoping I'm hoping the turbo scribe well I've already been testing it I've been testing the PDF file so I can make again by using chat cheat cheat cheat I can't say it chat GPT I've also subscribed to Maud which is it's kind of supposed to be at the moment the better one between

chat GPT and Claude Claude's supposed to be the better one although there's certain things it can't do it can't create images so um but then for images for editing I use um canva.com and that also has AI included in that magic studios you can take the you can do a lot of stuff that a few years ago and we're not going far not going back very far you could only really do on photoshop or one of those like um editing platforms you'd need to learn skills now I know how to

use well probably not everything but I know generally how to use canva so I've got the skills of how to use their platform but it's just very easy which suits me and it's quite powerful I mean to be able to remove a background from something used to be quite a big deal you'd have to like erase around it and everything and you sometimes still need to do that depending on what kind of picture is but with canva I can make video I can do all kinds of stuff and so play

with a group blank video play with a video play with a video nature oh wow that's cool so anyway um I was wondering if it's got can it create something what if you can blue sky quote I got distracted I do apologize so canva I make all of my images on canva I have blindly I've been using it for a few years now to be honest I wonder how long I've been using it for I used to use the free one and then I sort of just settings billing login security

purchase history billing plans so I've got the pro plan the canva pro which is £12.99 a month if you don't have the if you don't pay for it you don't get all the AI stuff and there's a lot of stuff that's not there like taking out background um I think I'm not sure I think the canva logo is still on now I'm not 100 sure if that's true I might have made that up so purchase history all dates and all I had it for according to this the subscription purchase it

doesn't say view invoice view invoice 17th of December 2022 23 okay so it's only been well it's basically as long as I've had vinny to be honest so what's that 13 12 13 14 15 months so I I've had a pro since then I canceled it a couple of times but then I've gone back so I've had pro before that I was using that free and what's weird is weird is when I first had it it was £10.99 now it's £12.99 damn so like everything else it goes up but it's

really really useful it helps I mean all my stuff all the images pretty much that I make um even if I make them with AI if I make them if I create them on uh using an AI uh separate AI thing I still have to edit them with Canva so I do that and there are hundreds and hundreds of uh images on there I should download download download download them all one just have them all saved somewhere but I haven't and there was a time when I would just because I

do generally do four different recordings one without music one with music five hours and 10 hours there was a time when I would just have the same image and just change it but now I do four individual images and because I realized that they weren't saved I couldn't if I if I lost the image I'd have to redo it and just there there so there that's it so I got Claude um so what I do with Claude and ChatGPT I generally ask the same question to both I've only just got

I've only just really discovered Claude um I'd heard about it but it's owned by Anthropic ChatGPT is open AI but converting transcripts into a single pdf so here it allows um okay it didn't have the it can transcribe not transcribe it can read um so to give example if I just if I add a transcription so if I go into number 100 Let Me Bore You To Sleep number 100 so if I ask um give me a summary give me a short summary of that podcast episode it's just a transcript

so that you can't listen to it so it says in this hundredth episode of Let Me Bore You To Sleep Jasson Newland reflects on the series which typically features hour-long recordings of him talking about various subjects in a manner intended to help listeners relax and fall asleep he discusses the importance of a supportive bed for good sleep and shares a humorous hypothetical conversation about the podcast okay I don't know what that is and mentions a recent physical health check-up he had throughout the episode Newland I don't like that I don't

like the way it does that I don't like being called Newland it reminds me of when I was at school or in the sea cadets Newland no Jason call me JJ juicy JJ come on um throughout the episode Newland maintains a stream of consciousness style often going off on tangents and making jokes he concludes by thanking listeners for joining him on the journey of boredom and expresses his intention to continue creating more subjects blimey so that was a hundredth episode back in I don't know 22nd of February 2019 so 20

21 22 5 years ago man 5 years ago wow and I'm just going to see what is the joke tell me about okay shares a humorous hypothetical conversation about the podcast okay right can you elaborate can you elaborate on this I want to see if you can elaborate on what it is because I've got no in this episode Jason imagines a humorous imagines a humorous hypothetical conversation between two people discussing his Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcast the conversation goes as follows person one asks Jason Newland about what he

does person two explains that what person two it's so this is two people talking about my podcast explains that Jason creates hour-long recordings where he talks about nothing in particular with the intention of boring listeners asleep person one questions a point of listening to someone boring and suggests that staring at all will be quite equally effective person two argues that it's different because listening to the podcast provides a form of stimulation of de-stimulation well that sounds quite clever doesn't sound like me leading to relaxation and sleep they mentioned that listeners

automatically feel relaxed when they hear Newland's voice due to the repetition and familiarity of the podcast person one then wonders why the episode lasts for an hour if they're supposed to be boring person two admits they don't know but suggests that it's just a length of time that these recordings have evolved into being the conversation continues with person one expressing surprise at the amount of time they've spent discussing the podcast they both agree that they need to find a way to change the subject that's quite funny this imagined dialogue dialogue

serves to highlight the unique nature of Newland's podcast and the potential questions or reactions people might have when first hearing about the concept of a intentionally boring podcast designed to help people fall asleep so they've done a summary of the conversation I had between two people discussing my podcast oh okay that was um yeah I wonder if the same thing would happen with I'm going to ask the same question for chat gpt because I know you're all excited about that chat gpt do question and it's 100 wasn't it so let's

have a look number 100 turbo scripts 100 give me a short summary okay it's now doing it reading documents documents grants with 100 in this episode Jason shares his thoughts in a deliberately mundane and meandering manner to help listeners fall asleep he discusses various topics including his discomfort with a squeaky chair a hypothetical separate celebration for the hundredth episode his views on body and mind relaxation some personal anecdotes and random musings ranging from historical tidbits about Colchester England to imagine dialogues about to imagine dialogues about the value of being a

being boring as a sleep aid okay so I'm going to ask I'm going to elaborate on that okay so see uh Newland oh this is called me Newland as well Newland style is casual and rambling aiming to create a soothing monotonous audio environment conducive to sleep emphasizing the importance of boredom and routine in achieving relaxation and restfulness okay so let me have a look I'm going to do the same thing and ask what I asked Claude and I'll ask the same question um right can you elaborate on this so if

I've got to imagine dialogues about the value of being bored as a sleep aid so I'm gonna can you elaborate on this I spelled this the t-h-s-i it's not a hard word to spell is it blimey okay here we go elaborate wonder what's going to come up with it might be talking about something different in the episode Newland engages in an imaginary dialogue that explores the concepts of using boredom as a sleep aid he humorously introduces himself and discusses the mundane nature of his recordings which aim to bore the listener

to sleep this dialogue takes on a meta quality as it reflect reflects on the very essence of the series talking about nothing in particular for an extended period with the goal of inducing sleep through boredom the conversation touches on several themes including the distinction between the boredom induced by listening to someone talk versus the static boredom of staring at a wall it suggests that the former provides a form of de-stimulation which is what the other said didn't it before through the listener's engagement with the speaker's monotonous delivery and repetitive content

this engagement offers a distraction from the listener's own thoughts potentially leading to physical and emotional relaxation and eventually sleep the dialogue encapsulates Newland's philosophy behind the series the intentional creation of content that is so uneventful and unstimulating that it helps listeners to disengage from their busy minds and relax into sleep I'm a little peeved with that because I think my recording is very exciting I talk about my life and I am a little bit upset about that so never mind don't that doesn't matter it doesn't matter don't worry and there

is I'm going to choose there is is a humorous hypothetical about a podcast can you elaborate on this so I want to see I put it in there hypothetical conversation about the podcast that's what Claude said so I want to see if they're going to find that because it didn't really okay it does now in transcript Jason Newland humorously contemplates a hypothetical conversation about the purpose and effectiveness of his podcast Let Me Bore You To Sleep five years ago wow he engages in a mock dialogue where a person questions the

rationale behind listening to a podcast designed to be boring where the host Jason simply talks about nothing for an hour this conversation humorously addresses potential listener skepticism with one voice asking if the podcast helps people to fall asleep and why anyone would choose choose to listen to something intentionally boring the dialogue delves into nuanced benefits of the podcast suggestion suggesting that it provides a form of distraction that helps listeners disengage from their own thoughts leading to a physical and emotional relaxation conducive to sleep this humorous exchange emphasizes a podcast unique

approach to aiding sleep not through engaging content oh thanks cheers mate not through nice stuff not through any kind of personality but through a deliberate lack of stimulation leveraging boredom as a tool for relaxation Newland's Newlands ah attention just like Newland what are you doing in the toilet like just just really don't don't like being called his self-aware commentary on the podcast's premise showcases his understanding of its ironic appeal using boredom typically seen as a negative as a positive mechanism to help listeners fall asleep wow it just shows you i

mean i know that these ai is like taking it's far ahead of you know humans in some ways but this is like miles away miles ahead of me i didn't understand a word of that i didn't i didn't know what i'm talking it's like a foreign language i i recognized into um transcript because i'm used to seeing that word talks listener i'm boring um relaxation sleep help fall um yeah relax that's that's kind of it i don't it's so so many it's way above my head wow why couldn't i have

been born intelligent nice and intelligent like everybody else why it's not fair it's not fair i tell you it's not anyway hi and i guess it's coming up to being by because it's an hour i haven't eaten yet well i have eaten obviously because i'm fat so i have eaten but i don't mean never but now it is brilliant well done vinnie a little bit more noise if you can and if you don't mind i bet he normally does it when i say that he knows i'm talking about him don't

you you know i'm talking about you hey did i tell you that every night now he sleeps on the pillow on his pillow not mine it used to be mine i used to own i kind of used to own everything in the flat at one time so now he's leaning against me he's now his leg is so cute so he's he's laying down and he's put his one of his legs just over my leg a little knobby i call him knobby yeah little fella you you little fella so it's sunday

today which means monday tomorrow oh yeah i wanted to tell you about this other thing i'm doing um there's a couple of other ai things i've got the d script which is what i talked about um yeah so i can i changed a 35 minute recording into a 10 minute recording myheritage.com is what i used to animate an image a photograph and i did it with a couple of people it's not i mean it's not perfect but that the technology to be able to bring something static for the person's face

to move and to look around and it's like is freaky and it's only going to improve i mean in a year two years it's going to be seamless it's amazing so i know ai isn't for everyone and i probably i don't normally talk about it too much do i do i do i talk about a lot but i find it really interesting and i can see the benefits and it's good for me it's good for like coming up with ideas and stuff as well and not not for this because this

this podcast i just talk you know there is zero preparation for this recording and there will always be zero preparation for this recording i mean maybe i could do a preparing it it could probably be better wouldn't it but that's not what i do i just i'm just gonna be me talking for an hour or whatever and that's it and that's just what i do but for some of the other stuff i do or have done in the past or i'm just thinking well i could try and become a little

bit more professional a little bit less rambling on not not for the let me bore you uh for example the let me bore your pain away now the rambling is part of it i do still come back to the subject but the rambling is part of it because that's just me being me focusing on a subject the same as the boring objects sleepy boring objects podcast is just focusing on the subject an object or ever and just talking about it and i will go off sometimes but i'll end up coming

back with these ones i sometimes end up going off and never coming back to what i started talking about and i couldn't even tell you what i started talking about at the beginning oh god so tired not really i am i'm not yeah i'm kind of am a little bit tired so another one i found there's a website called future tools.io and loads of ai stuff on there so that's like a it's a tavern tavern of wonder and you could just basically just find stuff and the other thing is the

there was this thing that i i used and it's called popai p-o-p-a-i dot pro it's a pop ai and i used it in order to read the put the pdf files so what i've done is i signed up and then what the heck settings languages chat gp4 oh yeah so basically it's strange why is it not letting me look at my membership it's not that's very weird so what it does basically it allows me to upload a file i'm not sure what the limit is english english it uploads a file

so i've got one here for one to a hundred will it allow me to upload that and there's about 2000 pages i think in that one and that's just the first 100 recordings the first 100 let me boy to sleeps there is one to 100 it's one nice 1120 pages pdf pages so that would be if you had a book there'd be a 1120 pages of book of a book but it'd probably be more because a lot of it is like quite got together so you probably end up with about

1500 pages just as an example so with this oh yeah oh there it is so i can ask it questions it's basically done a summary already a summary the provided text is a series of transcripts from a podcast series called Let Me Bore You To Sleep by jason newland the episodes are dated from the march of 27th to 30th of march 2018 what no see so i didn't do a hundred recordings in three days blimey so they got that wrong that's weird it's weird that is any sessions new land oh

again with the surname like i'm he aims to help listeners achieve deep relaxation and sleep through his monotonous and soothing narration he repeatedly empathize empathize empath em empathizes that the sessions should only be listened to when it's safe to close one's eyes as they are designed to induce drowsiness in the first episode new land describes his own state of comfort and relaxation the use of rain and his own voice vibrations as a backdrop he encourages listeners to create a quiet space for themselves the thing is in the first ever recording

of this it was more like a sleep hypnosis recording i even did counting down and stuff like that well that changed eventually um i think i did in a few of the recordings the forbes episode takes on a more interactive approach where new land converses with the listeners asking them how they feel and suggesting they vocalize their response he talks about the value of taking a break from daily life and the comfort of knowing that throughout his sessions one is never truly alone he also shares anecdotes about his pet ferret

andre to maintain a mundane and monotonous narrative that is not why i talked about andre i did not talk about andre to maintain a mundane and monotonous narrative i can't even say what words i talked about andre because i was excited about him and i loved him blimey there's nothing boring about andre a beautiful little boy overall let it go jj let it go overall these sessions are designed to be a verbal backdrop that allows the listener's mind to drift away from the stresses and stimulations of the day a bit

of poetry here leading them into a state conducive to sleep noon's new length never been so angry laid back and rammed in style serves to make the content intentionally dull and soporific don't even know what that means with the ultimate aim of helping listeners relax and fall asleep some questions you may ask what is the purpose of let me boil asleep okay here we go right so i'm going to bring this to an end this whole series of podcasts i can't believe everyone thinks i'm boring and i yeah that's that's

pretty much the end of this recording i need to edit it i also need to get some food and also in half an hour big brother's on i think so half an hour to cook a i'll try and see how much i got i can get done in half an hour so i'll cook some food and try and edit this podcast hopefully to the point where all i have to do is just upload it that's gonna be a challenge come on don't bark good girl so remember to be kind to

yourself because you deserve to be happy remember to be gentle with yourself lots of love and i probably will be making another one of these tomorrow one of these exciting recordings take care lots of love bye ow you just bit me you don't giggle ow
