Hello, hello, hello. Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Boyd Asleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
Now, I am streaming, I'm streaming this live on both Facebook and YouTube. So hopefully you can hear me okay. I haven't, I'll try and get as kind of, oops, as close as possible so you can hear me, so the sound is okay.
Maybe, I don't want to get too close, ugh, ugh, too close. But yeah, hopefully it's fine. So hello if you're watching, hello if you're listening.
This is Let Me Boyd Asleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes, as well as please only watch, watch if you can safely close your eyes. Now I'm not sure, which one's Facebook and which one's YouTube? I'm not sure.
John Kelly, are you on Facebook or YouTube? Hi John, hi Bea, hi William. I'd listen but I'm at work and have to be awake. By the way, don't worry, if you can't watch now or listen now, this is being, I'm pretty sure I haven't got biscuits all over me, this is being recorded for the podcast.
So the sound quality will be a lot better. And if I cough or if there's any interruptions that will be edited out of it. So you can watch there, if you choose, if you choose.
So can I just check, so you're on Facebook, okay, so Facebook is the iPad, YouTube is the phone. And so far, everything seems to be okay. I'm so excited.
Can I ask you something, those on Facebook, John, Bea, Bea, William, is it really close up? Because it looks like I'm really close up on the screen and I don't like that. It doesn't make me feel groovy. But on YouTube, I look far away, far away.
And I realised that on Facebook, it's the biggest screen, it's an iPad screen. On YouTube, it's a little screen because it's a mobile screen. Hopefully, I'm up the right way as well.
Who knows? I don't know. And I've got the microphone, as you can see, looks fine on Facebook. Thank you, William.
I've got my microphone here, as you can see. So this is being recorded for my podcast. And my hair really needs cutting.
Like, really, really needs cutting. What I'm going to do is try and move this over here just a little bit. I'm trying to make it so that I'm not looking between screens, but I can't have them.
I suppose one way I could do it, one way, maybe, wait a sec. Nope. Is that going to work? No, it's not.
Okay. I thought I might be able to do it so that it goes above. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
This is, I guess, kind of a tester. So let's get on with the podcast, shall we? This microphone is nearly as big as my face. It's quite a big microphone, isn't it? So I haven't made a podcast for a little while.
And if you do have anything to say, any questions, or if you want to sort of say hello, I will say hello to you. Because it's live, I'm not going to ignore you. If I see the stuff on the screen.
If I don't see it, then I won't be able to, you know. Okay. John says, you're on full volume in my phone.
You're on full volume in my phone in order to give you, to give you. Okay. Yes.
I can bring it forward a little bit more. So it should be a little bit louder now. As far as the iTunes, not iTunes, as far as, what's it called? YouTube goes, it's a little bit, a little bit further away, but it's one of those things.
I could have it all set up with like 10 microphones, which isn't really ideal. I know there are ways of doing it. I know there are ways of doing it.
That's probably easier, more technical, maybe not easier in a short, in a short run, but in the long run, it's easier. I never take the easy route, do I? Well, you never take the easy route. Anyway, let's realize something.
Don't worry. So I'm just gonna just have a little chat. John says, how are you? I'm fine.
I'm good. S still 10, still 10 microphones. Lovely.
No, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna use 10 microphones. I just, I mean, I, I thought about doing, cause I've got three internets. Well, one's on the mobile, so mobile internet, and I got two mobile, I got a wifi, or two wifis.
So I thought about having a mobile phone, uh, on Instagram as well as doing this. So we shall see, not today. Um, but the main thing is I'm doing a podcast and I've got a bit of a toothache.
Uh, basically it's just hurting a bit. I think I've damaged the gums cause I use, um, dental floss and stuff. And I just, I've got a broken tooth.
Oh, Jason Newland. Good afternoon from you friendly. Hi, nice to meet you.
That's on YouTube. And so if anyone's got any questions, so what I do, I should talk really about my life. What's been happening? Well, for those in, in other countries, we've got a new, a new chancellor of the Exchequer.
That's politics has been a bit weird here lately and probably no weirder than normal, but be very strange. Uh, I've still kind of a bit, not really sure what, where to go with the podcast because I've got a passion for pain relief and that was the whole point of doing what I do. That was how I started out.
That was what I was aiming to do. That was the only thing I wanted to do is help people to reduce their chronic pain. And then as time went past and, uh, like online that is the, I've moved more into focusing pretty much only on sleeping, like insomnia recordings and, you know, relaxation.
And then as I kind of progressed with that, I realized that really the relaxation recordings and the insomnia recordings or the sleep recordings are pretty much the same. And 99% of the form of sleep recordings are relaxation because the only way we can really fall asleep, this stuff, and there's two ways or three ways to fall asleep. Those that just fall asleep naturally without any issue, you know, which is a lot of people can do that, uh, because it's just natural, but I'm talking about people that would listen to the recordings or whatever for to help with sleeping.
The two real main ways is you fall asleep from exhaustion. That's a way that we can all fall asleep. I think I imagine everybody's had those days where you're just completely exhausted and that's it.
You just, you get into bed and you, you wake up, maybe you wake up at three in the morning to go to the toilet. I know I do. I do that most days.
And I think, wow, I went to bed at like nine or 10 or 11 or whatever. I don't remember even falling asleep. Now you're never going to remember falling asleep because we don't remember that.
But that period between laying down and you, you know, you're kind of maybe trying to get comfortable when you actually are asleep or you know, that, that period that's, that can be quite memorable, memorable anyway. Uh, so I kind of got a stuck in that. Oh, the other way is, uh, to just relax, really, really relax.
And that helps. Um, Heidi is on Facebook. Hello Heidi.
So I don't know. I'm not quite sure. I like doing the let me bore you to sleep podcasts.
I quite enjoyed starting doing the, uh, let me bore your pain away podcasts. They're new, but I quite, I think I've done four of them, three or four. And I quite like them, but I'm not sure.
I'm not sure. I'm not sure what to do with that stuff. So I'm kind of bit limbo, limbo, not really sure where to go next or what to do next.
And I know it'll all work out, but I just don't know. It's warm in here. I'm sweating.
I've got all these lights on. I've got one there, one there, one there. I've got the light behind me on the TV, which lets out a fair bit of heat and I've got a light above me.
Professional. Art is a professional. Heidi says, I love them.
Yeah. Thank you, Heidi. I know you liked the, um, let me bore your pain away.
Uh, don't know Jason, mate. Is that don't go or don't know. Don't know.
Uh, okay. Yeah. I don't know because I've got all these different podcasts or running at the same time, you know, deep sleep, whisper, relax and sleep hypnosis daily.
Let me bore you to sleep. Uh, boring objects or sleepy, boring objects. Uh, Jason's bedtime story time.
Let me bore your pain away. And I can't even remember. I was smoking ones.
Yeah. Uh, Casey says, hello, Jason. We'll listen to your podcast tonight.
It's way too early now. Way, way too early. What are you doing? She said, she says, what are you doing? Why are you here now? I think this is kind of a tester.
It's kind of a tester. And I mean, I'm making a record. I'm doing the podcast anyway.
I don't know. I don't know if I'm going to be doing live recordings or live streams. I don't know if that's a good idea or not.
The reason being is I suppose practicalities. It's not always, I don't know what the, if there's going to be a lot of noise, I don't know if there's going to be people knocking on my door. I don't get too much of that, but sometimes, um, I don't know what's going to happen.
I don't know if, what if I need to go to the toilet and do a poo poo? Well, I can't, it's, it's like just leave you for, I'm not going to tell you how long it takes, but I'm just, you know, I can't, I'm not going to, I can't just leave you and go in and you just hear me whistling, trying to cover up the sound of all that stuff. So that's the downside of doing a live stream, I guess, because if I need the toilet, then, well, you've got to go, you've got to go, isn't it? You've got to go. You can't just not go.
I could go, but you know what I mean? What does that say on my t-shirt? I don't know. So yeah, I don't know. Live stream on the weekend special says John.
Yeah, maybe. I don't know. I suppose a part of me is thinking, well, you know, if I do some live streaming, I might get more people listening to my podcast.
It might be, wow, I'm sweaty. It might be a, maybe a good promotion, possibly. I don't know.
It might force me to do this stuff. It might push me to make sure that I do a recording every day. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure because YouTube. I don't get a huge amount of people watching my videos on YouTube. I've got something like 656 subscribers on YouTube, which is a tiny amount of people.
And I've been live live now. I mean, to be fair, I've got nearly 4,000 people on Facebook and three people are watching this. YouTube, I've got one person watching.
I'm not pointing my finger. So at this point, it's 18 minutes, 16 minutes in. But then, you know, I didn't announce that I was going to do this.
I didn't let anyone know. It's not like it's, you know, every night at 10 o'clock in the evening or something like that, then, you know, people can get used to that. John says, at end of week, Saturday evening stream, but can't be too late because I'm in Ireland.
Okay, John, we'll make sure everything, everything is based around you. Okay. All around you.
The thing is, John, the problem, I'm joking about that. The only thing is, is the majority of my audience are in America. You know, a good 80% of the people that listen to me are in America.
Now, the second biggest audience is UK. And then I think Canada and then Australia. And then New Zealand.
So I guess it makes sense. English speaking countries. They'll just say the Western world, but it's not, is it America's not? Is America the Western world? Australia is not the Western world, is it? Is it East? I don't know.
John Kelly says, Yes, around me. Lovely. In capitals, stop sharing.
I remember years ago, I had this job in a call center and I was doing admin work actually at the time. And I forgot to take the cap, the caps off and I just replied to an email that was sent to me from someone sitting across the desk. Couldn't say it to me.
I had to actually email me. Yeah. I replied.
And he said, and he replied back, Stop shouting. I'm just sitting quietly at my desk. And this was 2005.
So the idea of texts, capital texts being shouting wasn't something that I really knew about. Kind of, I guess it was, hadn't really got that information, hadn't that really excitingly important information had not made its way to my life at that point. John Kelly's different streams for different time zones.
Oh, I know. I know. I know.
But just. Why can't everyone just have one time zone? Wouldn't it be easier? But then you said, no, but then that'd be night. Then the day would be night.
Well, no, call it night. No, in my brain, that worked. That was that made sense.
It doesn't make sense, does it? Oh, no, I don't understand. So. Yeah, I haven't done a huge amount.
I hope this isn't distorting the microphone. Excuse me. No, it's fine.
The reason is sometimes if you have electrical equipment near the microphone, it buzzes. So have the iPad and the mobile phone earlier when they were too close together, it was buzzing the microphone. But it's sounding okay.
So it's not been a lot happening. If I'm honest, it's not been a lot going on. And just I guess I'm just in one of those contemplative contemplative contemplative modes of existence where I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do next.
And I might need to go to a dentist because of my tooth. I've been avoiding it because it broke. Basically, my tooth broke.
What happened? The filling came out. And so that was a bit annoying. So the filling came out.
So what I had to do is every time I ate, I had to keep doing my teeth, make sure that, you know, my teeth were all clean and there was nothing lodged in there. Sounds nice, doesn't it? So I was definitely doing the old dental dental dams, not dams, flaps, not flaps. Dental floss, that's it.
And then the tooth broke. This is during the period when we weren't allowed out of the house. So it's a little while ago.
So I've just been keeping an eye on it. I've got these things, I continuously make sure everything's clean and tidy and everything. But sometimes I kind of over overdo it a little bit with the old dental thing.
So all these little things I use and too much and it does it does damage the gums a little bit. I'm hoping that's all it is. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go to a dentist.
I don't want to go dentist. No, I don't want to go. I don't want to go.
No, no, no, no, no, I don't. No, I don't want to go to the dentist. No, I don't, I don't.
I don't. What I don't like about a dentist, apart from everything, is when they do the x-ray and they stick that thing in my mouth and I don't like things in my mouth. Generally, there's a couple of a couple of I mean, when I eat, I don't mind food in my mouth, but I don't really want big things in my mouth.
I like to, I don't eat, I don't like big mouthfuls of stuff. So food's fine. So, you know, but I don't having that plastic thing that they stick in your mouth and hold it there and we'll all leave the room while you absorb the radiation from the x-ray.
Oh, thank you. Cheers. This nice.
Thanks. It's very kind of you. And I don't.
Yeah, I feel especially when I say after you have to, you know, like really grip down on it. It don't suit me. It doesn't, doesn't, doesn't really, doesn't really do it for me, if I'm honest, doesn't quite doesn't quite do it for me.
But, you know, one of my, I don't think it's a problem, but I can't open my mouth very wide. And I never have been able to, I got, it's just the kind of jaw I got. I haven't got, um, I'm not gonna do it.
I'm not gonna open my mouth wide, but I can't, you know, some people can like, well, I can't do that. And I remember I was having a tooth, that tooth back there taken out about, I don't know, 12, 12 years ago, 13 years ago. It, that, yeah, about 2009.
And the dentist couldn't get it out. And she kept saying, can you open your mouth wider? I said, no. No.
If she was, if she was, if she was a gynecologist, we should be saying that to her. Can you open them wider, please? No, that's as far as they go. My mouth won't open very, very wide.
It just won't. Uh, that's it. That's as wide as my mouth opens.
Now I don't want to close up my mouth cause that's not nice. You see what I mean? It's not a wide, it's not a big mouth. I can't like, well, some people have got really big mouths or normal size mouths, probably, maybe not mouth, but I can't open my mouth big.
It doesn't open wide. And that's probably my jaw. Maybe I've got, uh, maybe my jaw was broken when I was a kid, whatever, but whatever something is, I don't, I just, I can't, I've got, whatever the reason is.
I don't know. I'm not, uh, I'm not an expert on opening mouth, mouth opening journeys. I really don't know.
I've got no idea, but that's the fact of it. So, and this, this dentist, she could not remove the whole of that filling of the whole of the tooth. She broke it up, drilled into it and all that stuff completely just destroyed my gum.
Cause that's a little bit of that feeling is what I'm getting there. So it feels like gum rather than tooth. So I kind of maybe digged about too much in my, in that, that gum wasn't gentle enough.
Wasn't careful enough with my own mouth. So I think that's my, might be what the issue was, is. But she got to the point, she couldn't get it out.
She didn't have the physical strength to remove the tooth. Oh, I got, I really should look in the mirror before I make a recording. I look awful.
Oh, wait a minute. I just look the same as ever. I look the same as I always do.
It's hard for me to look at myself without getting horny. It's really right. That's not related to the dentist story.
She didn't have the strength to pull the tooth out. What are you doing that job for? If you can't pull a tooth out, isn't that the very basic, the most very bare minimum of what you should be able to do is pull a tooth out. And it was one of the back ones.
It wasn't, they're not even hugely, deeply rooted in those ones that on there. I don't think again, I'm not a dentist, but I had the previous one. So I had two removed from there.
And the first one I had removed was brought me back in 1990 was 89 or 1989. So I had the one there removed in 1989. As it's 20 years later, I had the next one next to it removed.
So that one came out fairly easy. It was just normal job. She couldn't get it out.
She was digging and digging and with a scalpel, she had a drill, she had a shovel, she was like, stabbing it. It's like really everything. And in the end, she said, I can't get all of it out.
I said, what? She said, I can't get all of it out. So she basically gave me, she referred me to a dental hospital to get the rest out. Now it wasn't hurting anymore.
So whatever, you know, the main, the main, the main bits were gone. And I think she just completely killed the nerves by all the stuff she did. So the nerves, well, that was hurting.
When it stopped hurting, there was no nerves there anymore. And what bit of tooth was left, the gum just grew over it. I've never had a problem with it.
Never, never had a problem. Absolutely fine. Now this one, I'll tell you how this happened.
I'm not going to show you because he wants to see the inside of someone's mouth. Well, dentists, I guess. I mean, do you reckon they still do that? Because it gives them a fetish.
No, I'm sure they haven't. I'm joking. I, I feel, I keep, am I looking at the, am I looking at the camera enough? I feel like I'm looking there, but then the camera's there and there's a camera there.
Where is it? There and there. There, that's it. So I'm trying to do both at the same time.
It's not so easy. I'll tell you what I'll do. If I move this over here, if I move this over here like that, it makes no difference whatsoever.
Just make sure I've not set the mic off. No, it's all fine. Still a bit, it just sounds a bit tinny sometimes on the microphone.
It does sound different. It sounds different. Like if I talk like this, but then I talk into the headphones and it just sounds so much more professional.
Mm. Hello, everybody. I don't know.
Just being silly. I'm being a silly bully. Just a silly bully.
Right. 32 minutes in. That's not bad, is it? I managed to get through half an hour of nonsense.
Oh yeah. So that tooth there, what happened is I had a filling. One tooth.
And then I went back probably a couple of years later. Filling came out. Every now and then, the filling would come out every couple of years.
So I went back, put a filling back in and then went back a couple of years later, filling went in. But every time they did a filling, they would chip a little bit out of the tooth next to it in order to give the filling something to grip onto. And over about 10 years, they managed to ruin three teeth.
Use three teeth, like the next two teeth, dig into them to put the filling in. Instead of just taking that tooth out, which I said, just take it out. We don't like to take the teeth out no more, he said to me.
He said to me, he or she. And I know it's very important which one or not. I don't care.
And I think it was from Switzerland. And he said to me, we don't take the teeth out no more, because... I'll stop, I'll stop, I'll stop, I've stopped. Because we don't take the tooth out no more, because we have to have the tooth.
We like to keep the teethies. The teethies. Because you keep coming back.
If we get rid of all of the toothies, you won't come back to the dentists. So I said, all right, let's have a filling. We'll give you the filling.
We'll give you the filling. So they gave me a filling. I said, okay, fair enough.
I don't care. They said, you may need root canal. No, no, no, no.
Well, no, I don't. Sorry, I'm never going to need root canal. What, to save one tooth? Really? You think I'm going to go through that for one tooth? You think I'm going to let you cut my... No, no, no, no, no, no.
There's more chance of circumcision. And I'm not talking about my knob. So stop it.
Move away. Put the scalpel down. That's a good boy.
No way am I going to allow... No. So now I suppose it's different if it's my front teeth. And I don't know, maybe I'd feel a bit more attached to them.
Now, I don't want to lose my teeth and I don't want them just taken out nilly willy willy. But mmm, you know, it's like, well, this is one tooth. I've got about 50 teeth in there somewhere.
Okay, with my small mouth, probably about 12 teeth. But I don't know how many is that? Yeah, probably about 11 teeth I've got probably in one mouth. So at least nine.
I have three teeth. And I remember Andre, the human version of Andre, he said to me once, Oh, you got two fake. He's Irish.
I said, what? He said, I got two fake. I can't do the Irish accent very well. It was weird because I'm actually from, my family's Irish.
But he said, I got two fake. I said, yeah, so? Well, why are you telling me? How does that affect my life? That's what I was thinking in my head. I might have actually said that because in them days, I was a little bit rude.
Why are you telling me? What possible use can that information be to me right now? Is it going to fill my tummy with food? No, food will do that. Is it going to make me feel wonderful inside? Nope, nope, nope. I've got other things for that.
Is it going to release my tension from not being touched by a woman over the last 10 years? So anyway, SexFindPro, this is what I get. This is the kind of crap I get on YouTube. A message, SexFindPro, new AI dating disrupting industry.
So that's the kind of crap I get on YouTube while I'm making a live stream. Bollocks to you, whoever sent it. Twats.
I might contact them later though. By the way, he sent a message. What was it again? Andre said, I've got this toothache.
I said, why? He said, it's a toothache, it's fine. Just go and have it take out. That was my attitude back then.
And he said, no, you don't understand. I said, what? He said, it's in my smile. That's what he said.
I couldn't stop laughing, but I did stop laughing because obviously I'm talking to you now. I haven't spent the last 30 years on the floor, rolling around, chuckling. And I just thought it was funny.
It was kind of cute, isn't it? But it's in my smile. Oh, it's like, oh, it's so babyish. What a babyish thing to say.
It was funny. So I don't know. I mean, I've never, I know my dad, I shouldn't say this about my dad really, but he was in a serious car crash when he was younger, a lot younger.
So he lost teeth. So he had, he's got screwing teeth. Not many, but he's got a few ones that they don't come out.
They're proper screwed in, if you know what I mean. And one came out a few years back and he didn't mention it. He was waiting for the dentist to have another one put in.
And he sat at the table and he smiled and there's a big gap. And it was so weird. I've never seen it before.
And it really changed his appearance. Like, it's like, wow. But then it's not that unusual.
I mean, you know, sometimes he sits there with a dead seagull on his head. So it's no way of knowing. Bowl of cereal, you know.
He never does those things. Why do I say that? During the lockdown, he grew a beard for a year. For a year.
And it was jet white, just like his hair. His hair's jet white and the beard was jet white. And he looked so good.
It really, and he grew, I think he grew it from one birthday to the next or from January the 1st or whatever, something like that. He grew it for one whole year just as kind of an experiment, I think. And he doesn't have a beard.
He hasn't had a beard since the 70s. I remember the day he shaved his beard off. Were you expecting a story connected to that? No, no story.
No story. Nothing. No, I remember that because he came down stairs and me and my two brothers and I don't know if my little brother was born yet.
He was a little baby anyway, if he was. I'm pretty sure it was about late 70s. Yeah, it's like late 78, 79.
And he just looked at us and we were looking at him and just like, there's something different about him. And he said, do you notice anything different? And I said, have you changed your underpants? And I don't know, we were just like trying to figure it out. My brother said he'd had a bath.
Not smelly. No, he didn't say that. And then we noticed, we noticed that the beard was gone because he had a big old bushy beard and it was gone.
And we rolled about laughing. It was so funny because he looked so different. Yet people are different people with beards.
Once if you if you only know them with a beard, I'd only known him with a beard. So since the age of six or seven, just before I was seven, that's when I kind of first really met him. When I was a little baby, I remember I was a little baby, so I don't remember.
But I'm pretty sure his whole of like the 70s, he had a beard until that point. And you suddenly see in this like, quite a thin face. Well, thin, but you know, he's just like, well, a lot thinner without a beard.
I mean, when I shaved my beard off, I lose about 50 kilos. I don't know why I say stuff like that. It's silly, isn't it? 50 kilos, are you sure? Yes, I'm sure.
Right, only 17 minutes left of this. I don't know if I'm going to do this again. It is the pressure, the pressure of cameras.
That's why I didn't have a television career. That's why I turned it down. I don't like the pressure.
Radio. Someone did say to him, right, so I do have the face, I have the right face for radio. So I didn't realise that they were being offensive.
I was like, what do you mean? I'll be good for radio. Not like, oh, you mean I'm too ugly for television. That's what the person meant.
But he didn't take it that way. I took it like, oh, I could do radio. Oh, radio.
I don't know if I could do a regular show because of my moods. I don't know. I'm slightly moody sometimes.
I do a radio show. I mean, could this be a radio show? Because it needs more, doesn't it? It needs more than just someone just rambling on for an hour. There needs to be more content.
But then I suppose if you do a radio show, there's the news, there's the weather, there's topical stuff to talk about each day because each day's new, you know, hence the word news. Talk about celebrities and what's on telly and the weather being English. Weather's very important to us.
Talking about it is very, very, very, very important. So it is. Don't forget to like if you haven't already.
Even if you don't want to. Please like. Please.
Please. If you're on YouTube, maybe like. Subscribe.
Love. Love. Facebook.
I've only got six thousand people left on Facebook watching and 120,000 on YouTube watching. It's gone down. I thought I'd reached a million today.
Some people do is basically to get a million people watching you live. You need to be one hell of a celebrity. You know, you need to have to be like really famous.
I don't think even famous YouTubers get that. Not live. Maybe some do.
