Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. This is let me bore you to sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Oh yeah, my website, my really rubbish website is jasonnewland.com. So today I think I may have broken all of my records.
Not literally, I don't have any records. This is my sixth recording today. Six, fifth and the other five have all been edited and uploaded and scheduled to be shared and available on my podcasts at certain times of the rest of today and tomorrow evening or no tomorrow during the morning all the way up to about nine o'clock in the morning.
So that basically one is being released every hour during that time. So that's quite a lot, isn't it? Quite a lot. I've renamed the, well I haven't officially done it, but I will.
I've renamed the Boring Objects to Boring Objects Relaxation because I've come to realise that you can't tell what it is by the title, although the title is a really good description of what the podcast is. It's just me talking about boring objects or boring subjects. But the purpose of the podcast is not clear from the outset.
I try to explain my purpose for it during the actual podcast, you know, the beginning and stuff. But if I want that podcast to be able to stand alone on its own, on its own two feet, then I need to, you know, put a bit more effort into making it, you know, I'm just just making it easier to understand what it is that I'm doing. Because if, well, if people don't know, it's like, what's boring objects? That's a weird title for a podcast.
What's it about? What's the reason for it? So you talk about boring objects, okay, fair enough, you talk about stuff, stuff that's boring. Okay, why? So I thought I'd just put in boring objects and then just relaxation and maybe I put relaxation and sleep or to relax and sleep, boring objects to relax and sleep, something like that. Because that's what it is.
That's the whole point of it. It's just another, it's kind of another version of this. To let me bore you to sleep, except it's more focused.
It's more focused. So it is kind of, you know, so today I did a podcast. I did a boring objects podcast and I focused on airports.
And I stayed focused on airports for the whole half an hour or 40 minutes, whatever it was. So, you know, try and get me to stay focused for even five minutes on any subject with this podcast. It doesn't happen too often, does it? Where I stay, you know, even though I have a title, I have a title of, for the podcast, something's squeaking.
Is it me or is it the, I don't know. That's the chair, I think. I don't know.
Even though I have titles for these podcasts, I don't know why really. I don't know. I just number them.
I think it'd be easier, but I think and also I don't make images anymore, which I kind of should do because I think that that was a bit of a pop on my microphone. When I made images, I seem to get more. I got more listeners.
So I might go back to that. There's some dog barking, really barking in the distance for some reason. And yeah, so I watched a film today.

Get my iPad out so I can give you the correct information. Just, you know, regarding who's in it and stuff like that. So here we go.
What's it called? Bullet train. Bullet train. And okay.
KKKKK. So it stars Brad Pitt. It stars Joey King.
Now, I don't know where I've seen her before. I've seen her before. I have.

Okay. It's directed by David Leitch. From a screenplay by Zach Olagus.
And produced by Antoine Fuqua, who Antoine, let's see if I can get it right this time. Antoine Fuqua, who initially conceived the film. And it's based on a 2010 novel, novel by Maria Beetle, titled Bullet Train.
Well, that's that's handy. And novel, Maria Beetle, Maria Beetle, titled Bullet Train. Okay, so the name of it was called Maria Beetle.
But it's called Bullet Train in the UK and US by a Japanese writer called Kotaro Iseka. And stars Brad Pitt. Joey King.
Brian... So it was released. The film was grossed 230 million. And it had a production budget of about 90 million.
So that's a good that's a good. Can't argue on that really, can you? I know it's a Brad Pitt film. So it's a maybe they expect more money coming in.
But he was great in it. I got I got to say he's really good. But he's not the only one that's good in it.
Joey, Joey King is really good in it. Let me see. I'll go through the people that I liked.
Tangerine. He's a British assassin. And he's Lemon's brother.
And Lemon, an experienced British. So he's obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine. So there's the two assassins, Tangerine and Lemon.
So Aaron Taylor Johnson. Stop with the double barrels. I liked it before I saw that.
So Aaron is Tangerine and Brian Tyree Henry is Lemon. And they're very funny. Or just both of them are funny.
It's just it's a good film. This I mean, it's quite serious. It's quite it's a bunch of assassins basically on a train.
You heard of snakes on a train? Well, there's one of them as well. But it's assassins on a train. They could have called it that.
But that would have probably spoiled. Yeah, that's the point. I don't mean to spoil the plot.
Yeah, I might have done a little of there might be spoilers in this podcast. If you don't want to hear about the bullet train, then don't listen to this because I'm going to tell you probably everything that happens in it. I'll try not to because I don't want to spoil it.
I genuinely don't. But what I will say is it's worth watching. It's a nice bit of even though even though it's a bunch of assassins all doing weird things.
And it's not child friendly. It is, to me light entertainment. If that makes sense.
It's, it's humorous. It's funny. It's just really funny in bits.
Even like laugh out loud funny at times. But it's just humorous. It's good.
Brad Pitt is really good at it. He's I'll be honest, I can't think of anything where Brad Pitt was not any good. He's he's got a screen presence.
And I'm not a fan boy, don't worry, I'm not gonna get all gushy in there and tell you how much I love him. And the fact that my whole home is plastered in his posters. And that might be true.
It might not be true, you're never gonna know. It is true. It's not true.
But he is phenomenal. And he is. I think Brad Pitt is cut from the old cloth of the old stars, you know, that charisma of like Tony Curtis or Cary Grant, or you know, it's just it.
Does that make any sense to anyone? Does it? See, I'm not gonna say anything bad about this movie at all. The only thing I was wondering when it started and I thought this seems a little bit like a Guy Ritchie movie. And that's not a bad thing because Guy Ritchie's made some really good movies.
I'm not so that's not a bad thing. It's just I kind of was preparing myself for I think it was because of the two English. The two English assassins.
And then because they were talking in English accents, and then and what's his name? What's his name? Those dogs outside are annoying me. So Brad Pitt was in it and because he's been in a Guy Ritchie movie previously, and I thought, oh, maybe they've all got together again. And it didn't put me off.
I just thought, well, is it or not? Because I want to know before I watch it. Because there's I don't know, it's just I was wondering, but it wasn't at all nothing to do with Guy Ritchie. It just had a little feel of it at the beginning.
Just at the beginning. I think some of the dialogue seemed a little bit Guy Ritchie. You know, I just just a little bit.
And I like I'm not being rude. I like Guy Ritchie films. So I'm just saying there was that little taste, but it wasn't wasn't him at all.
And they do stand out because they're not the only English, the girls English as well, Joey. What is he talking about? A young schoolgirl who is manipulating the assassins from behind the curtain. So she plays Prince.
She's not a young schoolgirl. She doesn't look like a young schoolgirl at all. She keeps going about.
I'm just a young girl. She's probably about in her 30s or 23. She's 23 years old.

Ah, I tell you what. It must have been from Fargo. Because I see these other things that she's in.
So Joey King her name is. Born in 1999. Wow.
Blimey. She was born literally a month before I was 29 years old. I don't feel old at all.
I really don't. King receives critical acclaim for her starring roles in the crime drama series The Act 2019. I don't remember that.
And she also starred, appeared in Battle Los Angeles 2011. Crazy Stupid Love 2011. The Dark Knight Rises 2012.
So she'd have been a kid in those films, hadn't she? 2020. She's 23 now in 2022. It's 2012.
She'd have been 13. So The Conjuring. She would have been a kid in that.
White House Down. And the first season of Fargo was. Blimey.
2014. Really? Eight years ago. What? Um.
What? You know, I've just seen that the premiere of Fargo. Season four premiered in 2020. But I've only got three series, three seasons in this country.
So why is it not available to watch? I absolutely loved Fargo. It's one of my favorite TV shows. And it's been renewed for a fifth season.
Back in February. That's really bugging me now. I can't believe that.
Apparently Chris Rock is in it. Chris Rock. Oh, OK.
Fair enough. I mean. Yeah.

Fargo season four airs on Sunday, 9th of May on Channel 4. All episodes will be available on all four after broadcast. Wow. Is Fargo on Disney? Disney's FX has revealed some of the new cast appear in a fifth season of Fargo.

Fargo is one of my favorite TV shows. And I can't believe. I'll go away.

is the second highest rated miniseries ever, with all, come on, open it up, I remember the thorn birds, I really do, I remember, the thing is, it hasn't got, Richard Chamberlain, yeah, it is Richard Chamberlain, the only reason I remember this is because there was two miniseries, Richard, the thought that I remember as a kid, and they went on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever, and they'd last for hours and hours, and I used to like them, I did, I'll be honest, I did, and the two main ones were the thorn birds
and Shogun, both starring Richard Chamberlain, or Richard Chamberlain, this one also starred thorn birds, Barbara Stanwyck and Christopher Plummer, and he was a priest who fell in love or falls in love with, I guess, either Christopher Plummer or Barbara Stanwyck, one of those, it says, winner of 6 Emmys, second highest rated miniseries ever, with all star cast, this epic drama set against the sweeping backdrop of the Australian outback, I don't remember that, tells of the taboo desire between a beautiful woman and an ambitious priest, spanning five decades, the seductive drama is based on Colleen McCulloch,
best-selling noir, by season one, 756, wow, I don't know, I don't want to pay for it, here's some of the reviews, great story, that's Victoria Scott, a lot of effort put in there, another one, Leon says, I'd only seen some of it, but it does seem quite well put together, show, but the important thing is my mother loves it, and appreciated I got it for her, so no regrets.

in any way, I finally caved in though, and watched the series this week, I know this probably sounds a bit over the top, but it was just such a wonderful experience, seeing it again, seeing it properly for the first time, really, but getting sudden little flashes of memory from the happiest time in my life, while I watched it, it gave me a great feeling of warmth, poignant, but very comforting, I can see now why this series made such a lasting impression on me, as a very young child, even if the particulars of the story had
been forgotten, the atmosphere and vivid richness of the settings, the excellence of the acting, the wonderfully lush colours, the haunting music, the sense of timeless high romance, they all stayed with me, I've grown into a confirmed romantic, and I'm pretty sure that the Thorn Birds must have been the formative keystone in that aspect.
The hauntingly lovely Rachel Ward, gives an excellent performance as Maggie, and there is a sterling line-up of extremely high calibre actors in supporting roles, a special mention has to go to Sidney Penny, who plays Maggie as a child, but this series really belongs to Richard Chamberlain, I think he comes as close as anyone ever has to capture the male romantic ideal, it's almost impossible to believe that he was nearly 50 years old when he starred here, he's so youthful, and Rachel Ward is simply his ideal screen counterpart, they make such a perfectly matched couple, just
from an aesthetic point of view, the series is a joy to watch, due to the brilliant casting of Maggie and Ralph, I could gush for hours here, but let me just say that if you're contemplating rather, buying this series, please don't hesitate, it's a magical way to spend a few hours, there are no extras on this release though, which is a terrible shame, but there are subtitles, and the picture and sound quality are first-rate, this series comes on two double-sided discs, which do require a little fevered wrestling to dislodge from their cases, but even the
artwork and designs of the cover and the DVD menus are beautiful, this really is televisual chocolate, for anyone with even the tiniest streak of romance in their blood, you'll laugh, cry, grin like a moon-struck idiot, and thoroughly melt in joy.
Anam, arrived promptly, looking forward to watching this very good and complete film, saw it many years ago, excellent service as usual, and would recommend this to anyone who likes a good love story. Amazon customer, DVD arrived on time, and was of good quality, and reasonable priced, the story was of an interesting reflection on times past, but was still engaging, with some good performances by the key players. That sounds like someone hasn't actually read or watched the film, but maybe they did? Wow.

this is called ballistic X versus server and online Google it's the worst film ever made which it's got Antonio Banderas in Lucy Lou how can it be the worst film ever made it's ridiculous top reviews from the UK Dan I decided to watch this as I was a fan of the GPA game almost immediately into the film I was cringing at how bad it was 10 minutes in I was wanting to turn it off but I persevered just to see how it turned out then it hit me this film is a parody all the action
scenes and there are plenty of them are completely over-the-top the explosions the stunts and it just becomes a comedy thousands of bullets fly and never hit their target they throw in some matrix style action too but because it's outside the context if the matrix isn't so unrealistic it's just funny even the sound effects are laughable at times the acting is he far over dramatic or completely stoic so he's completely stoic this then this then amplified at the director as a director seems to pair the over actors with the stoic ones all the dialogue is filled
with action film cliches cringy one-liners and some generally just funny quips I was honestly laughing in every scene the majority the film is high-budget over-the-top action but this is tied together with bits of story and background however all these scenes seem like they're from a kind of retro low-budget cop show or spy drama that's even a green screen there's even a green screen car ride then there's the music then there's the music throughout the film there's this constant soundtrack which is like the action scenes completely over the top but but I really enjoy the film
I laugh smiled and groaned all the way through for me it was definitely one of the ones that's so bad it's funny and I think that's because of you either get it or you don't but I'm almost certain that you'll have an opinion one way or the Here's one says Rob this is a must for all action fans it's filled with non-stop action from wild gunfights to hand-to-hand combat with the sexy Lucy Lou leading the way kicking the crap out of anyone who stands in her way of getting revenge on a former boss and Anthony
Banderas also has a good outing as an ex FBI agent brought back to find Lucy in all of her action so that's someone that really liked the film and it's no it's just yeah I always this is from mr.

funny even though it was 40,000 feet in the air it felt like walking out on a plane avoid if you're over the age of 10 and avoid unless you get a kick out of mocking bad films avoid this turkey at all costs that was funny, I like that Mr N, give it a miss the basis for the GBA game Eck vs.
Seveur strange enough released afterwards there's no getting around it, the film is terrible and Tony Bandera's character is this disheveled mess who seems to serve no purpose other than to just plot exploitation or exposition one of them loosey loose doesn't seem to know the difference between emotionally reserved and wooden the plot is thoroughly weak and full of more holes than Swiss cheese all in all I give this one a miss ok, Dinky now I like that name Dinky don't judge a movie by its title don't judge a movie by its title this is from 2007 but don't expect much viewership either what?

I don't know gratifyingly full of explosions true though the car chases were a bit of a let down they were a bit like formula one races in that you assumed the cars etc were going really really fast but they didn't look like they were at all maybe the camera work could have been different anyway car chases boring the big conundrum sitting in the middle of the whole film of course was Eric's wife or ex-wife not in itself a big enough hump to interfere with watching the shoot outs but it left a funny aftertaste when the
film finished Antonio Bandera and Lucy Lowe acted on half power but were I don't know where this accent is going but were in an unacceptably lackluster and there were a couple of good lines I guess pity about the Matrix reference I guess this came out after the Matrix pity about the Matrix reference I assume this came out after the Matrix where it's going to if it's going to have a Matrix there were worse films but even so this was disappointing considering the acting talent involved it's from the B-movie land okay if you haven't even watched
the one I want to watch or even haven't wanted to do I'm relieved I'm relieved I only rented this and quite gladly I didn't buy it opidopidoo okay um okay this is a different one this is an action packed well action movie it says ballistic egg vs server besides from it's rather strange title it's one of the best action films of it's year in my opinion Lucy Lowe and N.

Banderas plays great and very appropriate parts in this movie alongside the cool soundtrack and intense action scenes this film is one of the best non-stop action films there is the story from this film is nothing we haven't seen before an ex-FBI agent with a presumed dead wife has been called from retirement to fight a super assassin type woman and a guy who plans to kill lots of people with microscopic robots but he plans to release them upon the world so this is obviously nothing spectacular in terms of script or storyline and you know many scenes
are over the top in terms of bullet dodging and exploding cars which seem to fly for no reason laughing laughing they've got flying cars just randomly flying cars and and on the terms of explosions yawn this, excuse me, this has lots it made me yawn the explosions, there's so many explosions that I just kept yawning.
I couldn't stop. I was so excited.
Probably the most I've ever seen in a film. And if you like this sort of thing, you'll probably see this to be a film adaption of a typical shooting game for PlayStation, as I wouldn't be surprised if that's where they get most of their ideas. There are a couple of car or bike chases, too.
Not brilliant, but there's plenty of shooting, of course. Explosions to accompany it. If you buy this film, then you might like action films.
Well, you must like action films, and preferably be a gaming mad person under the age of 15. Otherwise, rent it first and see what you think. Ah, this is quite a good... Here's a question.
I've seen a few of Antonio Banderas' movies over the years. I watched one movie, and I honestly, I don't think I could understand not even 15% of what he said in the whole movie. Like, he just had this really thick Spanish accent.
But he didn't need to. It was a good movie as well, though, because it was action, and it didn't really need him to be talking much. But why didn't he just talk clearly? I don't know.
It was like really... I've only ever met someone with a strong Spanish accent, like really strong. And he was the manager of a nightclub that I used to frequent. And my boss, who owned the place, and my friend, rather, who owned the place, he used to stand there and come back and say, I've just stood there for 15 minutes talking to him.
And he was the manager. He was his manager. He was like running the place for my friend.
So I can't understand a word he's saying. He's like... Such a strong accent. And he was a lovely bloke.
There's nothing to do with his personality. He just had a really, really strong Spanish accent. And it was a mixture of that and probably a bit of impatience as well from my friend.
What are you saying? I was 44. And I had to go to Stockholm and go to off-licence. And I had to go to Urbana.
And my friend, well, he'd walk away. He said, OK, I don't know what he said. You're going to have to sort it out.
He'd send someone else down to sort it out because he wouldn't... And the bloke was brilliant at the job and everything. He just... I think I understood every, probably every seventh word that he said. And I do think, wow, imagine that's what it feels like to be in a foreign country.
Imagine what it must be like for him. How many words can he understand from English? If we can only, you know, it's like... And to be able to sort of get a job and, you know, function. I don't know how people do it.
I mean, I've been abroad a couple of times and... I don't know. I remember when I was away recently and one of the waitresses was talking about a name badge and I said I wasn't looking at your name badge. It was just a little bit of a... I don't know, flirty joke, you know.
That was the level we were at. And she stood there and just looked down for about... It must have been 15 seconds. It seemed ages.
Oh! And then she was like, oh, she understood what I meant and then she punched me. So it was like, oh, OK. You rude old man.
You old man. And it was like, wow. So she had to think it through.
I had that a few times in the garage where... because most of the people in the local petrol station are non-English. They're Eastern European. And I've had conversations where sometimes they've had to stop and I got really well with this lady that she's not there anymore.
And she explained it to me that sometimes... she had to slow down and stop for a second to interpret what I just said to her or what other people just said to her and sort of play it back in her own head so in order to understand. And because I got on so well with her and she was so lovely, we... I used to talk to her, you know. I used to have conversations with her.
I don't really do that with anyone else much in there but her, she was probably the only one that I have had quite a good relationship with actually. And... she had a lovely... something I don't want to say. Her husband was not really nice as well.
He worked there as well. And then he left and she was there on her own. But he used to be in there quite a lot to pick her up and stuff.
And they were really just a nice couple, you know. And... she... Yeah, she got pregnant and then she went back to whatever country she came from. Yeah, that was it.
She's gone. And I didn't see her. Never seen her again.
It was a shame because I liked her. I liked talking to her. Because she told me a bit about her culture.
Told me a bit about some of the traditions and stuff. And this was pre-2000. I don't think she... She might have been around during 2000.
But it's been quite a while since she's been gone. There's a song in it. A song title.

If you get a chance to watch Bullet Train, it's worth watching. It really is. It's a good film.

Hobbs and Shaw. He produced Nobody, but he didn't direct it. So, Nobody's a really good film.
If no one's ever seen it, it's good. Bullet Train, he directed and produced. And Violent Night, which I've not seen, he didn't direct, but he did produce.
Wow! Wow! He was also executive producer for John Wick 2 and John Wick 3. So, why didn't he... What's the difference between... Oh, executive producer, OK. I'm not sure what that means. What's the difference between... Anyone? Blimey, he's been around for ages.
He's been around for a long, long time. And you can see how he's worked his way up. So, he was an executive producer.
OK. Second unit director, 2003, In Hell. That was Johnny Depp, I think.
And he did quite a few movies during that time. Stunt work. I don't know why that.
Was he actually a stuntman, was he? He was an actor. Jeff Suffelt. He was an actor in Bullet Train as well.

David Zeitch makes a cameo appearance as Jeff Suffelt, the 17th person. OK, right. Ryan Reynolds and Sharon Tate also appear in uncredited cameo roles.
