Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com So my name is Jason Newland. This is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

Now I have a new, a new recording, digital recording equipment. It's called the Zoom LiveTrack L8. So basically it's like a console.

And I've, so I'm not using the iPad or anything like that. The microphone is plugged into this thing. Headphones are plugged in and I can hear the sound and stuff.

The problem, I'll put the headphones on again. I need to keep the headphones off because I'm waiting for delivery. But I can hear myself through the headphones.

Now it's going to take me a little while to get my head around the quality of the sound and how to make it sound how it needs to sound. So please bear with me. And it might take a few, a few recordings before I get it right.

But the main thing is, I don't know, it's weird. It's, yeah, it might sound a little bit, a little bit different from normal. So I'll, you know, I'll play around with it.

And yeah, it's taken me hours and hours and hours to figure out how to even record and how to play back and how to listen to it and how to transfer it from the digital machine recording studio thing into the iPad and then onto the iCloud and then I'll, you know, go through the editing process. So, you know, there might be a little bit of a hum in the background, a little bit, hopefully not too much. I'm hoping that I sound okay.

I'm not like right close to the microphone, but I'm not a long way away either. Hmm. But it's kind of new.

Does that make sense? It's all new to me. It's not a big thing, but it's quite, it's quite big compared to a recorder I had before, which was quite small. And that was a boring story, wasn't it? Yeah, this thing's much bigger than the other thing that was smaller.

Oh, okay. Oh, that's nice. Tell me more.

No, that was the whole story. There is nothing else to tell. So this could be, could be the beginning of, well, personally, I'm hoping the beginning of a better quality sound.

I've also got a new microphone coming today. It's a much better microphone than the one I've already got. So that should be better quality than this one.

And I've had some problems with the sound lately with the, I didn't know if it was the microphone or the Scarlett console thing that a microphone goes into. I couldn't really figure out which was which, because I'm not, I'm not an expert on all this stuff. So what I've decided is to miss out all that stuff altogether, start recording, I guess professionally, this is like a professional setup.

And well, kind of, I'm not a professional, but you know what I mean, it's a, it's a, it's a lot more sophisticated and complicated than I really want in my life. I just want to press record, plug the microphone in, press record, and just talk rubbish for an hour, or do a hypnosis session, which some people might say is me just talking rubbish, but you know, each to their own opinion. So this is quite good, because I do get to actually hear my own voice, which I don't normally, the normally when I make the recordings, I don't hear any sound at all, I'm not listening to it.

So I can get more of an idea, I might need to get some better headphones. Because these ones are sort of cheapy ones. And I'm not sure if it's really picking up what perhaps it's not giving me a representation of the result.

Although this isn't going to be the result, because I can go into editing and make changes and stuff. But ultimately, the way I see it, it's like, it's just me talking. Why do I need to have all this crap, all this special equipment? I'm not making an album, I'm not making, I haven't got drums, no guitar, no piano, keyboard, no, you know, trumpet, no trumpet.

Really? How come you haven't got a trumpet? It's just me talking. So I've got like 1234567, no, 123456, six inputs. So six different things that I could be recording.

Six microphones. I don't need six microphones. Now, admittedly, if I had someone here, or with me, I could do an interview, you know, I could have a microphone, because I've got, I've got a few microphones.

So I could have one microphone for me, one microphone for them. There is a way of even doing conversations with people on the phone. Now, I'm not even going to look into how to do that yet, because it is taking me, I wanted to chuck this thing out the window earlier.

Then I decided I might just send it back. But I've, I've kept going. I keep taking breaks, and I keep coming back to it.

So I'm going to figure out how to work this thing. I've watched numerous videos on YouTube. And they just don't, they go all complicated and stuff.

You know, it's like, give me the basics. Don't need to know about guitars. Don't need to know about keyboards.

Don't need to know about mixing. I just need to record my funny squeaky voice. That's all I need to do.

Now else. So that's what I'm doing. That's why, that's what I'm doing now.

So when this recording is finished, I will then, because it's saved on an SD card, which has got 90 hours of space on. So what I'll do is I'll take the SD card out. Then I'll put it into the, it's like this, I don't know what it's called, extension thing, adapter, which goes into the iPad.

Nothing's got a slot anymore. You know, like there was a time, remember there was a time when we had access to holes. There was holes we had access to.

And life, I think life was easier. I look forward to having those holes. You know, you had holes where you could put the SD card.

We had floppy drives. I know we're going back a while. But then you had CDs.

I don't think any laptops have CD players anymore. Or even, you know, so all the software has to come from the internet. So if you bought a laptop solely to use for, but nothing to do with the internet, if you didn't even, you know, it's kind of weird to imagine, but maybe someone wanted to use it for accounting.

But then they had to upload the accounting software, like Sage or something like that. And it comes with that disk. The only way they can upload it is by going online.

And I just, I used to quite like, I'm squeaking a lot today. I used to quite like CDs. It used to be quite nice to stick a CD in while I'm on the computer, on the internet, surfing, doing whatever, doing work on a website and just stick a WAM CD in, you know, or whatever.

And it's quite nice. Now it's all about the streaming, isn't it? Yes, it's all about the streaming, streaming. So I got these knobs, right? I got no idea what they do.

I really don't know. I know the only thing I know about one thing is it turns down the background hiss. Now I'll actually play it for you.

I'll change it. You hear that? So we're turning that on like that. It turns down the hiss, the background hiss.

Now, I don't know what the rest does. And there's one down here, it's called low. And I'm turning it on now.

What does it do? Can you hear any difference from me talking? Oh, now you can hear me good. Low, low. Now, I don't think that's the right sound.

So I kind of take that off. This is more neutral. So I've left it.

I basically put them all on neutral. So this is higher. This goes even higher like that.

So this is now, I don't know if that's what I sound like normally. But this is, you know, if I just put it to just like neutral, so nothing's being done. This is what I sound like.

Now there's the high one. So if I put that, that's on this one, and I move it like this. Does it make any difference? If I put it like that, high, high, high, high, high, high.

Now I do it all to the end because it seems to sound better like that than it does. Unless it sounds okay like this. But that way, it just seems to be a bit more fuzzy.

Like I'm in a cupboard or something. But now that's neutral, but that doesn't sound right to me either. If I put it on full, that sounds better.

Just to me with my headphones on. Now there's another one and it says EFX. Now if I move that up, I can't, can you hear any difference? I don't know if I can hear any difference at all when I do that.

If I turn it down again. So that doesn't seem to really make any difference. So I've kind of just left it.

So it's on full. Any change? No. So I just turned it on, just turned that one off.

So I just need to do the bare basics to make it sound okay. And then as I get used to using it every day, which I will, you know, I use it every day. And then I'll do, you know, maybe two, three recordings a day.

I'll start to get used to it and then I'll start to kind of maybe delve a little bit into making, just making some changes, you know, maybe learning to make the sounds a bit better. And there's also, there is also the capability of adding some jingles as well. And I imagine there's probably ways of connecting this to some other stuff.

So I could, you know, eventually have a table full of this stuff and, you know, basically like run a radio show kind of thing. But that's for the future. You know, as if I was like running a live streaming show where perhaps I had incoming phone calls.

I don't know. I don't know, I don't know what I'd be like doing that, doing a, you know, having, I've done a couple of, done a couple of recordings where I interviewed people over the years, but it's not really my skill set. But then, you know, having a phoning show isn't really interviewing people, is it? It's just having people phoning in and just saying whatever they want to say.

But then I listen to radio shows quite a lot. I'm quite a big radio fan, actually. And phoning shows quite often get a bit heated.

And people phone in just to moan and complain and argue. Not sure if it's really my thing. I might just get annoyed.

I don't want to, you know, I kind of, I'm more into just relaxing and chilling and, you know, being calm and peaceful. I'm not really interested in arguments in any, in any format. I don't, not in my real life or even in a fantasy world of the internet.

It's not really my thing, you know. You know what I mean, innit? You get me? So, yeah, I just see, see what happens. See what happens.

But I really, I nearly gave up on this thing and eventually I got it to work. It just shows you that sometimes all you have to do is read the instructions. Sometimes that's all you need to do.

Read and follow step by step. Anyway, so, yeah, it's, the good thing about this is you can get a case that it goes in. But it's not, it's not big, right? The thing itself is not big, but it's not small.

You wouldn't fit it in your pocket. Yeah, you wouldn't be able to smuggle it anywhere up your bum. You know what I mean? It's, it's not, it's not, it's quite big, but it's not small.

It's not big, you know, it's kind of, I don't know what the length, I suppose, kind of A4 sheet of paper. Maybe about that size. A4.

Yeah, maybe. Yeah, possibly. Oh, I think someone's at the door.

There's someone at the door. There's someone at the door. So, I don't know.

Oh, yeah, you can get it at a case, like a hard case. So, it's soft inside and hard on the outside. What I did think about when, when I was getting frustrated with this thing, this new Zoom LiveTrack L8 digital recorder, recording studio thing.

I started to think, well, maybe I'll just make videos and just extract the, not the urine, the, the audio from the video and do it that way. But I'll be honest, I don't want to make videos. I really don't.

I just don't have. I used to enjoy making videos a long time ago. You know, 16 years ago, even 10 years ago.

But, yeah, not so much. Even seven years ago. But six, you know, it's like, I have made videos lately, a couple of months back.

But it just, I just feel so self-conscious. I don't have any self-consciousness when I'm making an audio, when I'm making a recording, just me and my voice. It's just me.

I can just be me. And I'm not looking at myself. That's a distraction.

You know, it's hard to make a video when you're horny all the time. No, I'm joking. The idea of seeing myself and getting horny.

Okay, it was a silly line. But yeah, I just think, hmm, perhaps I should just stick with what I enjoy doing. And do more of that.

Because there's so much that I can do. Not that I can do like, oh, look at me, I can do lots of things. I mean, there's so much that there is to do.

So many different types of recordings, different hypnosis recordings that may be helpful to people, other podcasts to start, you know. So having, getting this side of things sorted out, it's taken me a long, long time really to be anywhere near happy with the final result, sound wise. Now even now, I'm not, the sound isn't quite how I want it to be, but I'll work on that.

As I said at the beginning, it's, this is kind of a trial and error recording in a sense. But I do, once I've got this sorted and got a, basically a set of, once it's set up, it'll just stay the same all the time. And then I can do more and then I can make more recordings.

I can maybe do four or five recordings a day even. And the better quality the sound is from the start, the less I have to do in post-recording, you know, editing, going through it, deleting bits, changing bits and all that stuff. It's just easier.

It just turns out, it works out better. And the easier the process is, or the less time it takes per recording from recording to uploading, that's better for me. Because it means I can then do more, more stuff and be a bit more, I can just forget about that side of things and focus more on the creativity, focus more on the content than the actual like sound, which is something that's been on my mind for forever and ever and ever, really.

I mean, there was a time, there was a time when I didn't care. You know, the quality of microphones and webcams was pretty poor when I started doing all this stuff. And for me, it was about the content, not about the quality of the recording.

The thing is, I kind of realized, because I've had a lot of upgrades over the years, lots of different microphones and trying to find different ways of improving what I'm doing, because I realized that other people are managing to do decent quality sound. So there's not really an excuse for me to continue to, I mean, I'm going back quite a few years, but I kind of realized that I need to get with the times, baby. And I needed to sort of improve, improve the quality of the recordings.

Although content is king and queen and pawns and princes and princesses and whatever, you know, content is the most important thing with the hypnosis recordings. But the sound's also just, it's very relevant. You know, it needs to be, and hopefully it is clear, but it will get better.

The sound will improve as I learn how to use this thing. And maybe there might be some other equipment I can have and work with this to make it sound even better. I don't know.

I'll look into it. But this potentially, potentially is travelable. So if I get a case to put it in, this case also has room for I think four microphones or something.

Why would I need four microphones? So maybe one as a spare in case one stopped working or whatever. Then I've got a microphone case anyway, a separate. So that, that could be a way.

And then all I would need is depending, depending, depending, depending on the situation. Just, I would just need the, an iPad or a laptop. I'd need the microphone.

I'd need a microphone stand so the microphone can go into the case. And at the moment I've got one of those, what do they call them? Bars. You know, the ones that attach to the desk and they, you can basically maneuver them around.

I've got a few of those, three. So I've got one, I've got another microphone over there. That's for videos.

If I make a video. And it means I can maneuver it. But they're very springy and they're quite hard to travel with.

So when I went away recently, I did take, I got a microphone stand. It's quite heavy. It's fairly cheap actually, but it's quite heavy.

But somehow, I don't know how, I managed to leave the disc, the bottom of it, because it unscrews. So you've got the bit that the microphone attaches to and that screws into the base. Now the base, I forgot to bring it with me.

It's like a discus, like a small discus. I don't know what happened to it, really. It's like very strange.

I thought I had it in my bag, but I never. So I'd probably just replace that, get another one of them. And that would be kind of all I'd need if I was going away and decided to, and the headphones as well, and decided to continue to make recordings whilst away somewhere.

Now, kind of the dream is to be able to, in the future, not anytime soon, I guess, but in the future, and you could say, yeah, but everything's in the future, Jojo. I know, I know. Everything is in the future, apart from those things that are in the past.

It's, I like the idea of being able to travel and still do the podcasts, you know, it's, it's not, it's, I mean, it's not like a hugely expensive setup. And, you know, I'm just thinking if things got broke, I mean, I'd hopefully, I would never put this equipment on a plane in the cargo part. I wouldn't because they just chuck those bags around.

This would have to be carry on onto the plane or the ferry or, you know, I'd have to carry the bag with me. So the, the case that this would go in would also have to go inside another case, which would have a few basic bits in as well. So we'll see, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

So just have to wait and see what happens. I just, I just need to learn how to use it, learn how to use the blimmin' thing. And hopefully, hopefully I have started at least.

This is, this is leaps and bounds compared to before, honestly, compared to last night. So I got this delivered yesterday. And I could not figure out how to get the thing started.

I first of all wanted to use it with the laptop. That wasn't happening. It was really, really complicated.

And so I gave up on that. Then I thought, well, it has got a disc, you know, it's got an SD disc that goes in. There's 90 hours of space on that SD card.

I formatted it. So, you know, it's all should just be simple, should not be complicated. Why would it be complicated? And well, it kind of was.

But then I watched a video. And this lady, she actually said, it is a way too complicated. At the end of the video, she said it took me hours, about three hours to get this thing working.

So, okay, that's a long time, isn't it? The video only lasted for about seven minutes. So she showed what to do in seven minutes, but it took her three hours to do it. And it went very quick.

And I really can't tell you, it's like I watched a few like that, 10 minutes long, and they skipped through it so quickly. Maybe I do need to be, you know, breastfed when it comes to stuff like this. I need to just like, you do this now.

Just that's it. Just that's it. Just go there.

That's it. Yeah, that's up there. That's it.

You know, I've got I need some kind of guidance. This, you know, I'm like a little baby. Don't give me a full, you know, four course meal on plates with knives and forks and spoons and stuff.

You know, I'm a baby. I don't know what to do with this stuff. Other than the whole grab hold of it and chuck it at everyone.

That's what I mean by that. So I need to be eased into it. I mean, what I might do, which kind of goes against my rules, because I don't like to read instructions on stuff.

I don't know why. I don't know why. But I don't.

What I might do is go on Amazon and see if there's a book devoted to this thing, because it's a couple of years old and how to use it and how to, you know, maybe just get it and read it through. Imagine it might be on Kindle. Actually, it might be easier and just read it.

And get an idea and then maybe learn a little bit more about sound, a little bit more about what the knobs do and what the purpose of them are. And, you know, it's kind of. I suppose in some ways it's weird that I haven't learnt this stuff, bearing in mind that I've spent so many years making audio recordings.

But, you know, it's kind of like I used to like to write. But I had no interest in how to make a pen. I didn't care where the ink came from.

Didn't care how they made the little plastic bit in the middle. Didn't care how. Not interested.

Just want the pen to work. I want to take the top off or click the end of the pen and just get it to work. I've always kind of felt that way when it comes to computers, like bicycles.

Don't even talk about a flat tire to me. I just want the bike to work. I want to be able to step on the bar, step on it, get my leg over if I can.

I always struggle getting my leg over. Inflexibility. And just pedal and it goes.

I don't want to have to worry about brakes. Although that is very important, obviously, to make sure the brakes work. But it's like, I just want the wheels to stay on and to be just, I can't, I don't have, I don't know if it's tolerance or interest or lack of interest or a mixture of all of those.

You know, maybe I just don't care about stuff like that. I don't want to know about it. I don't want to think about it.

I don't want that knowledge in my brain. You know, I want to learn about neuroscience, neuroplasticity, hypnosis, even things like religion. I'm quite interested in spirituality.

I don't know, philosophy, human potential. I'm not interested in how a pen works, why it works the way it does, how a computer works, or even how this digital recording thing works. But maybe I need to change that mindset and say, well, I've been doing this for 16, 17 years.

Chances are I'm going to continue doing it for forever, really, for as long as I can. So I might as well maybe learn a bit more that could help me. I'll give you an example, actually, of something that helps me.

When I was in 2000, so I was 29, I spent pretty much a year solid working on websites and how to build a website and how to put websites together. I spent a year, pretty much a whole year. I got obsessed with it.

Now, I don't make websites from scratch anymore. I haven't done that since 2005, I think. 2005 was the last website I built from scratch using code.

The thing about it is I can look at code and know where bits start and bits end. So if I wanted to, for example, on my website, I want to embed a podcast player, I can actually look at the code and know where to paste it because of my knowledge that I've still got. And it's probably, I don't know if there's that much knowledge left, but because I got so into it for that period of time, it actually helps me out because I can see my way.

Not always, because some code is very difficult and I don't know it. But if it's like HTML or sort of that kind of code, I know my way around that. So I know where to, if I wanted to put in a space, or if I wanted to add a line, or if I wanted to put an image, I can do that.

And without, you know, just in the code itself. And that's handy, because it's, it makes, it just saves me a lot of time, by being able to do that so easily. And I'm sure there's probably millions that can, millions of people that can do it as well.

But I'm the only one. So there. I'll tell you what's happening here.

I don't know what it's like where you are. People are just making such a big deal about it being hot. Oh, it's hot.

Yeah, it's hot. But it's hot. It's summer.

It's supposed to be hot. That's what happens in summer. The same people.

Oh, it's cold. Yeah, it's winter. It's supposed to be cold.

Like, is this normal? Is this weather? We are obsessed with weather in this country. Absolutely obsessed. Always have been, right from when I was a baby.

I think the first words, I was like, it's raining. You know, like, oh, okay. It's just, it's, it's just, I don't know why we're so obsessed with the weather.

Because every day there is weather. Every single day of my life, there has been weather of some kind. And we get, we can get through three seasons in one day.

You know, it's, it's very strange here. But there's something going on. I don't quite know why, but the news, the radio shows, the TV shows, newspapers, they really catastrophize everything.

I make such a big deal over a heat wave, which literally will be over in about four days. You know, by my, it's what, Thursday now. By Monday, it will just be normal.

Now, one of the problems, I suppose, in this country, in England, for example, is because we don't get a lot of hot weather, we don't prepare for it. So if you go to some hot countries that have air conditioning, because they know it's going to be hot at some point, or maybe it's hot all year round, they have air conditioning. Here, I've never been in a house that has air conditioning ever in my life.

I'm not saying I haven't been to every single house in the country. I've tried to meet, be in a few, been in a few back gardens, looking into people's houses. But usually, from my experience, it's only kind of offices, people where you go to work, places where you go to work, where there's air conditioning.

And then you're sitting in there with a jumper on, and a jacket, because it's cold. And it's dinner, it's your lunchtime, you go outside, and it's like, the heat hits you. Oh, my, what? What? So hot.

So damn hot, man. Yeah, ma. I'm going to take the headphones off, I don't need them on.

Oh, I'm just going to get out for a second. I'll put them back on again. It's kind of a novelty being able to hear my voice while I talk.

Although I can usually always hear my voice when I talk. That's a bit of a weird sentence. Yeah, I can always hear my voice, but hearing it back through the headphones, that's what I mean.

So yeah, it's a bit hot. No, it's hot. Yeah, it's hot.

Oh, what are we going to do? Well, let's close. Sunbathe, go to the beach, go for a dip in the water. Oh, and it's hot.

Yeah. It's summer. I just wonder, I do, I do, I do wonder.

I really kind of, is it memory? Is it people with memories go? Is it like the beginning, you know, New Year's Eve, everyone's memory is just for the weather for the previous year just disappears. Like, oh, it's cold. Yeah, it was cold 10 minutes ago.

Why are you surprised? I just didn't expect it to be cold on New Year's Eve. Yeah, Trafalgar Square full of people sunbathing on New Year's Eve. No, no.

So yeah, why people get so surprised, catastrophizing all the time. At the moment, there's an election, no, no, leadership. It's not an election, but leadership race, leadership contest for the leader of the Conservative Party, who will also be the new prime minister.

And it's, if it goes to plan, if it goes normal, it will end up with two candidates. They're having a vote, one candidate's being kicked out today at three o'clock, you know, being, and then there's going to be, I don't know how many's left, I think four. I'm not sure.

And I think they're trying to, by the end of next week, have two left. And then it goes to a vote, but it doesn't go to a vote to the country. Bearing in mind, it's the prime minister, doesn't go to a vote to the country.

It goes to a vote, doesn't go to vote to parliament either, goes to a vote to the Conservative members, of which I think there's 150,000. So 60 million people in the country, 150,000 people, of which 70,000 will turn up out of that to actually vote, maybe 80,000. So let's say 80,000 people get to choose the prime minister for 60 million people.

Doesn't seem right. I'd have thought that, I'd have thought by now, the way apps are, and the way, you know, the technology is, that they could just, we could just vote by just clicking on an app, who we want, and then they can correlate it in, what, 10 minutes? Like instantly. You know, you can vote on the app, but it has to be completed by three o'clock in the afternoon on the 14th of whatever, you know, a specific date.

And then two minutes past three, they can announce the winner. You know, it's instant. I do wonder why that can't be done like that.

But I guess not everybody has a phone, you know, a smartphone with the technology of an app. Maybe some people don't have, I don't know what percentage of people, but it's probably a good couple of million, if not more people in this country that don't have access to those type of phones. So then it wouldn't be fair on them, would it? It wouldn't be.

Yeah, maybe I've shot down my own idea. What a hell of an idea that is. I found myself getting a bit turned on when I was telling you it.

Oh, that was a good idea. Oh yeah, I have an app. Oh.

So yeah, it's just an idea really. I imagine in the future will be a case of just, you watch it on the telly. We're now going to have an election.

Press the red button and just choose, just choose which one you want to be prime minister or choose your party. Because they make out like, we don't choose prime ministers in this country. We choose parties because it's not like in America where you choose a prime minister, you choose a president, you choose the person apparently.

Here it's conservative or Labour. So yeah, I guess that'd be quite interesting to see what the result would be. I mean, what's his name? Mike Hunt is, he was, is it Mike? I'm not sure if his first name is Mike, but his surname is Hunt.

And he, he actually applied to become prime minister before, you know, when there was a, well, you don't know, there was a leadership thing when Theresa May resigned back at the end of 2019. And Hunt, what if it's Mike? Mike, Mark, Mike? Anyway, he kept, he kept repeating the same thing. He kept saying, when I was a businessman, when I was a business, when I had a successful business, when I had business, you know, I used to have a business, you know, I sold it for millions.

When I sold my multi-million pound business, he kept repeating that. He kept going on about how good he would be for the, you know, the nation because he used to have a business. And, and again, he's not, he's been not kicked out, but he's been let go, you know, he's lost in the race.

So I'm not sure how many of this left. There's, there's one woman, I've never heard of her before. She's an MP and they have to all be MPs.

But she's, apparently she, her claim to fame when she was in a TV show called Splash, like quite, quite a few years ago. And it was just celebrities learning to dive. But, you know, she's a, she's an MP and stuff, but I've not, never heard of her before.

And they were talking about her on the radio. So I thought I'd just check her out to see if I recognized her. Because I watch quite a bit of the political shows and question time on a Thursday evening where they travel around the country with, and different politicians on the, on the panel and they get asked questions.

Hence question time, I guess. But I don't know her. I can't even remember what her name is.

And there's another female that apparently is quite popular. So it could be a race or it could be a contest between two, two females, which means we'll have our third female Prime Minister. That reminds me, I went out to the garage, to the petrol station last night, and my friend couldn't go.

So it was just me and another friend were going to go. And I was going to take the dog and I said, no, dog is not coming with me. He's, he's my friend's dog.

But he's, he got into a fight with another dog the other day. We tried to, it took all of my energy to stop him from getting to the other dog. And I said, no.

I said, no, he's going back inside the house. I'm not, I'm not taking the dog. I said, look, there's no point.

There's no point being on this planet if we don't learn from our mistakes. We have to learn from what's happened previously. This is me.

It's just for myself. And I've learned from that. I'm never taking him out on my own ever again.

And he said, you're not on your own. I said, well, that's a good point. But even so, I just don't, my friend, whose dog it is, he has, he has more control over him.

You know, he's got, he's, the dog, the dog's naughty, but he does listen to him. But yeah, that reminds me just like to learn from previous mistakes. So yeah, that's, that's what reminded me of that.

I'll back to a possible third female prime minister. And that's good. That's brilliant.

Lovely. So that'll be interesting. The thing is, whoever gets in, they're just going to get blamed for everything, like they always do.

And they can't, they won't be able to do anything right. Nothing, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's weird. It's, there's a rule.

And there's probably some people that want to be prime minister, but they don't want to be prime minister yet. They're thinking of like, why would anyone want to be a prime minister right now? You know, in the economic climate as it is like, nah, you're all right. I'll just sit here in the back benches and eat me popcorn and watch you clowns messing up.

And then when things get better again, and maybe I'll pop in and become the leader. And then you got Keith, I don't know his name is Stammer, whatever his name is. Stammer, who's a leader of the Labour, the opposition Labour Party.

He talks like this. No, no, prime minister. It's not really.

I don't understand it because I, he talks with like really closed throat. Now I'm not a public speaker. I kind of am, I'm speaking in public listening, but you know, I'm not on stage, but I have been in the past.

But it wasn't important to, it was important to be able to be understood by the audience. So he is understood. There's no issue, no issue with his, his grammar or the way he pronounces words.

He's fine. But just that, I'd have thought, I'd have thought that, especially being in such a high profile job, because next to the prime minister, he's a leader of the opposition party. That's a high profile position.

I'd have thought he'd have got taught how to speak clearly, as in, you know, from the diaphragm and to not tense the muscles up in the neck. You know, that might just be how he talks. But there's, I mean, admittedly, I guess I've been born with this voice.

My dad sounds like me, my even, even my younger brother sounds quite like me. We've got the same, my older brother. Yeah, so we've got the same kind of resonance, I guess.

I think I'm the more boring one out of a lot of them. We're all, I haven't got a deep voice. It's deeper than it used to be.

But it's, sometimes it gets a bit closed and it's a bit, you know, like that. Generally, it's not, it's, this would be just my normal speaking voice. I don't put on any, okay, it's not true.

Sometimes I'll do a hypnosis session, I'll, you know, I'll talk perhaps a bit slower, a bit softer, a bit more pronounced in certain words and phrases and stuff like that. And changing the tone and the volume and, but I don't do that in a, in this, these podcasts where they let me bore you to sleep. This is just how I talk.

This is just me. And I think because I had so many years working on phones in a call centers, and part of that job is to speak very clearly. I know that if you ever phone up a call center, you might sometimes wonder how that person even got a job in a call center on the phone when they really don't speak clearly at all, to the point of maybe you don't understand what they're saying.

And that is like, I kind of wondered about that myself. And it's not just like the call centers that are based in other countries, even call centers that are based in this country. Sometimes I was like, I don't, I don't understand what you're saying.

Your accent is so strong, which is fine. You know, for when you're in the pub, or at home, or when you leave the building, or when you're talking to your pals between calls, when you're on the phone, you know, I learned years ago, long before I did call centers, I used to answer the phones and take bookings for the comedy club. Not all the time, but I used to help out.

And my boss or my friend, really, I wasn't really getting paid for it, but I just used to help out. And he used to say to me, he liked the way that I talked to the customers, because I didn't really have a strong regional accent when I talked on the phone. And he liked the way that I talked to the customers.

And I quite like that. It's nice to get a compliment, you know, so I quite like that. But I just, and then sometimes I speak to call centers, and they're just so great.

They're like, they talk so lovely, you know, and even the ones that don't, that do have like a really strong accent. They're normally really nice. I mean, I'll be honest, I've rarely spoken to anyone in a call center that's been rude to me.

I just can't always understand them. I mean, the other day, I ordered a kebab. And I know it's not a call center, but you know, it's someone that's answering the phone.

If you can't speak on the phone clearly, get someone else to do that, do that job for you. And I ordered this food for some friends downstairs and just a kebab for me. I was just treating my friends.

There's a few of them downstairs and I just thought, okay, get inside to eat, get some kebabs. Everything came except my kebab. It's the only thing that didn't arrive.

And I phoned up, I said, why? You know, I've just had it delivered. I couldn't check it all because there was, what, four meals, four or five meals, whatever. I couldn't, you know, and then the man, the delivery person had gone and I checked and you forgot to put my meal in.

He said, we didn't order that. I said, yeah, I did. He said, I repeated back to you your, to confirm your order.

He didn't say it like that, but he said, you know, I read it back to you. I said, well, I didn't understand what you were saying. Or, um, maybe, you know, I didn't say it like that, but I said, I didn't understand what you were saying.

No, I didn't. I said, oh, he said, well, you can get another, you can get a delivery, but you have to order over a certain amount. I said, well, I just want a kebab.

And I said, well, it's your error. Why do I have to order more than what I want? I've already ordered loads of stuff. Oh, I've already ordered loads of stuff.

And that's what I said. And they said, oh, well, first of all, can you stop, stop mocking me? I said, sorry, I'm sorry. He didn't say, he didn't even talk like that.

I don't know why. He said, you'll get your delivery. And he said, we don't talk like that.

Sometimes it's the phone though, isn't it? You talk on the phone. It's not their voice, not their accent. It's just the phone is.

That was a very bad impression of a phone, but you know, I mean, you might not. So that's it. That's the end of this recording for today.

Yes. I'm, I'm hoping that it's come out. Okay.

Apologies if it ain't all right. Apologies in advance or actually because at the end of the recording, so apologies at the end. I can't do any more than what I'm done.

This is all I can't do anymore at the moment, but I will try to improve upon what I've done so far. It will just take a while, a while. So remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy.

Be gentle with yourself. Lots of love. Bye.
