Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You to sleep. Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
So hey, how are you doing? I hope you're well. So I should start off with got a few, got a few messages. Good a few messages.
So I'll read them out first. So um okay and so like I've just seen someone on Facebook trying to uh you know you get some people just it's almost like they're trying to start an argument by just posting a comment just as like a blank statement and they know that it's gonna wind people up. Well just saw one of those.
Okay what did it say? I'm not telling you. I'm not telling you what it said. Why mention it then? Okay fair enough.
Um just have a look. Okay right I had a couple of messages from let's have a look today. Just just today.
Today. Today. Today.
Today. Today. Where are they? Where are they? Yeah from uh Mary.
So it says hi Jason. I'll do it in her voice. Hi Jason.
You probably checked them out but premier inns and travel lodges are okay. Don't know where the course is but maybe some nearby. Good luck Mary.
That was Mary. Mary um I'd in response to that I've gone online. There's nothing cheap.
I want to say nothing cheap. I mean there's nothing like um reasonable priced. And something's weird as well.
I've noticed that you know I remember you'd book a hotel and you put in how many days you want and the price would come up for that period. But on some of these websites I think uh the holiday premier inn. Is it a holiday inn? Premier inn? Travel lodge? Unless the holiday inn is now a premier inn.
I'm not sure. Well they come up with the price I think. Oh that's good.
But it's not. It's just for one night. It's giving you the price per night.
Now that's not what I want. I want the full price. So it got me hopes up and they're coming up at something like 140, 170 pound a night.
Which is a little bit more than I'm prepared to spend if I'm honest. I got another message from Sarah. Hi Jason.
I've been meaning to write for a long time and feel like I have so much to tell you about how great your podcasts are and how much I enjoy them. But there's been so many occasions when you've made me laugh. Especially when you break into silly voices.
And I find myself giggling. I don't do funny voices. And I find myself giggling in bed just as I'm trying to fall asleep.
But right now I'm writing to tell you to let you know about a really good value and safe clean hotel chain that I use when I stay in London. Check out Premier Inn. I've stayed in the one in Islington many times.
Plus a few others around town when I needed to be in a different location. If you book ahead you can often get them for under £100 a night. I hate to think of you being in that dodgy, yeah, I hate to think of you being in that dodgy sounding place in East London.
I don't have anything to do with the hotel chain but for some reason hearing you worry about the expense made me look up your website and finally email you. Sending good wishes from America. Sarah.
P.S. One trick I use when booking a room in their website is to book a family room because you get a bigger room for the same price. Thanks Sarah. I mean to be fair £100 is not a lot of money these days for a hotel room especially like in London.
I mean it's I imagine one of the most expensive places to book a hotel room in the country. Like for I mean um even a cheap room like even a you know. But saying that there doesn't seem to be a lot of cheap.
I don't want cheap. I don't I'm not looking really for I don't want to go in and you know just give them £5 and expect to stay there for the week. You know I'm not because I'd worry about staying in a place like that.
I would be worried if I wake up and still have my kidneys left you know. So I'd wake up and I'll go in there. It's a nice room.
Show me around. What's so where's the bathroom? I see in there. Why is it full of icy water with ice cubes and water? No don't worry about that.
Why why are you why are you why are you drawing a cross on the back on my back? What's that about? That doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. So yeah um I the thing is is the issue like I can get if I get a hotel room I just I just don't want to spend any money.
I think that's what it is. It's not that I don't want to spend any money. It's just that it's expensive to start with.
The travel is I think about £40 a day. So I think it's £40 now and I'm not sure but I think it's over £40 for a return to London from where I live. I mean last time I went to London it was about £27.
So it's gone up. I remember when it was £11 return to London from even further away than where I live now because I'm only about 50 minutes on a train. It's not far.
I could get I could get to Liverpool street quicker from here than from some parts of London. You know just because the traffic and stuff. What I thunked what I thunked is I'm gonna on the first weekend I might book that dodgy sounding hotel and it's probably not dodgy at all you know.
You've got to be careful. I don't want to be slagging off a hotel when actually it might be a really it's just really good value you know. I've got to be careful with that.
It's just but £70 is still not it's like not nothing is it. Still that's the kind of price I would expect to pay for a cheap hotel or for you know a reasonably priced hotel. I might take a chance with it if I'm honest.
I mean it's in a it's in an area that I used to live before so I know the area. So it's not like it's foreign ground if anything it's I know that area better than I know where I live now because I lived there for 12 years. So it's very familiar to me.
That part of London like really familiar like you know literally I would say I know the name of the roads which I do but not all of them. But I just know my way around. Things have changed a lot since I moved out of London.
You know before I moved out of London in 2001. I've visited I've been back and stuff but not really regularly for a long time. But when I moved I got one more message.
I just want to read one more message and then I'll then I'll then I'll talk. Jenny sent a message. Wow.
This is a comment on number 217 relaxation hypnosis for stress anxiety and panic attacks. Pouring healing relaxation and safety into your brain. That's the name of it.
Blimey. Going into an operation. That's the headline for this.
This is a review on that particular recording. I listened to this as I was waiting to be taken into the operating theatre and it worked wonders for me. I was still stressed and anxious but the levels were greatly reduced.
I always listen to Jason's recordings for sleep. There is something for everyone. Thank you Jenny.
I hope you're okay. See I don't when you said I listened to this and I'm wondering if you listened to it in December when I did the recording 21st of December 2020 or if this is recent. So if I hope you're okay Jenny.
If you're if you're in hospital now or you just you know hope that things are going well and that maybe the hospital was in the past and you're now much better and but I appreciate your lovely words. Thank you. Other than that okay so that's that's all the messages.
So yesterday's recording I said I love hearing getting messages about how what I do you know if it's useful and beneficial and tell me your story you know how how what I do has helped.
I mean if you put it on my website rather than sending a direct message if you put it on as a review then other people get to see it and it could sway them in a positive way to maybe give give me a try you know to listen to my stuff or yeah it's just it's nice to have that there for prosperity because the website is well I'm just gonna keep that website there forever probably well you know not forever forever but forever in the next 10 years or until I find a better website maybe but at the moment it kind of suits my needs.
So it's nice to have reviews that are there and yeah it's just nice so I appreciate that.
It's yeah so thank you for that. What was I talking about before? I've forgotten. That's the thing if I try and that's right when you hear a zip like this don't get worried it's my jump it's my cardigan.
What I've done today is you know the clinical hypnotherapy I'm gonna read I'm gonna read the whole title of the course because it's on the wall. I can't read it. I need my glasses on.
I can't see it at all. I can't see it. I can't see it.
You know it's not far away the practitioner diploma in clinical hypnotherapy training course that starts not this weekend but next weekend is this because it's a professional course I'm not doing it because I'm planning to work with people in person. I'm doing it because I want to improve my recordings basically and I want to have a high level of education in hypnosis and I want to do something different because I've done training courses and I just thought I want to learn some new things and my plan is every year to do more hypnosis training and to have more of just more educated become more educated to read more books to learn more things and to become as knowledgeable as I can and as skillful as I can.
Yeah that's my plan.
So I hope you're with me on that one. I know it doesn't affect the let me bore you to sleep podcast well maybe it does I don't know these might start to become more therapeutic hmm no not therapeutic um oh yeah the two things I needed to do and I started this process last week at the end of last week because it's Tuesday today Tuesday the 22nd of March 2022. It's like a journal isn't it it's an ongoing um audio journal or spoken journal or something.
See part of this training course is I have to have insurance public liability insurance which I've had before many times but this one has to cover malpractice which I was a little bit surprised about but maybe they've had issues with people in the past that have tried to sue them or tried to sue each other or something I don't know because there's a lot of there's a lot of practical elements to the course like people will be doing hypnosis with each other and stuff like that practicing I guess with each other on the course so
I and the other thing is to become a member of the BSSH I think it's called and yeah BSCH which is the I'm gonna read it out what it is what is it British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and I'm a member now I'm a member I'm a member and okay basically as part of this training course I have to be an affiliate member of them to be to be a student and also I'm not sure quite why but maybe after that I'll become a full member once I'm trained I'm not sure but it's to do
with clinical hypnosis is to do anyway I don't know it cost me 115 pound uh insurance was about the insurance wasn't too bad it's just about 25 pound for the year I hope it's yearly not monthly but I called this company that I've been with before when I because I've had insurance public liability insurance for hypnotherapy in the past when I've practiced I had public liability insurance when I was practicing as a counsellor as well as well as being a member of the BACP um the hypnotherapy association or is it hypnotherapy society various different hypnotherapy
groups and organizations I've been a member of over the years but it's expensive to I mean I'm not I'm only with this one now the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis so I'm not with any of the others because I'm not practicing with people I'm just doing recordings anyway I got the public liability insurance which I had to get I phoned up the company that I used to be with not work with but used to insure myself with because I've been insured with public liability insurance on and off since 2006 and I think yeah I think
so or two no 2007 because I used to do voluntary work and I had to be insured for that I think yeah I think so anyway I I said to them I need to have malpractice covered and they said we don't cover that we don't cover no malpractice I said really because it says it on the form I have to have it and the lady said well we do have it on it but it's a different department I said well can you put me through then please no they won't answer the phone if I put
you through but if I take your number I'll get them to call you back this is an insurance company this is a call center an insurance company with thousands of people working for them it's a big old company with offices around the country and I said no you're right if you don't if if the company doesn't need my money doesn't need my business then no you're right and I just said yeah bye wasn't rude I said no if they don't if obviously if they won't answer the phone then they clearly don't need my business you
know they're pretty well the company's pretty much doing really well for itself if they're not going to answer the phone to customers who want to give them money I just wanted to get it over and done with on the phone here's a few details there's a money bye-bye but no I was oh I think those days are gone I called another company up and this is another one recommended by the by the the training company so the colleges are called them I said yeah I need malpractice malpractice I need public liability hello you need malpractice
what are you talking about I need malpractice well you're fat how about that what do you mean well that's kind of malpractice isn't it calling you fat if you're if you're a patient I'll call you fat I said how do you know I'm fat she said just a guess from your voice I said well yeah I am but what how can you guess that from my voice I don't think I sound fat she said yeah you do I said what how can I sound I've spoken to loads of people on the phone and I've met
them and they never ever anything like they sound really they people just don't sound they don't look how they sound it's just one of those weird things about voices she said no you look fat I said I don't watch it she said you've got big nose as well haven't you I said yeah how would you and a little willy hung up I realized that was my sister I'd rather not I'd called the wrong number so yeah I phoned up the right numbering in and I said I said I need insurance malpractice please included malpractice and
they said yeah we do that and said take out the details your name telephone number email address and a full address or something and then said I'll send the information to you in a post and I'll buy email so you got so you can fill the forms in I said no I want to do it on the phone she said no don't do it like that anymore I said what I said no don't do it like that yeah we'll send you the forms you'll have to fill this form in and sign that and send that
back to us and everything I said no no that's not how it works I call up I you ask me questions I tell you the answers and then I give you payment for the insurance because this isn't car insurance it's not house insurance it's not I mean to me it's not important it's just one of those things that people need that you know if you volunteer or if you have a business in the therapeutic world or as a therapist whatever or any kind of like public service kind of thing you need public liability insurance which
I think you probably need if you if you've got a shop even just someone comes into your property just to cover yourself it's it's not complicated insurance it's a few questions and then they take your money that's how it's always been for years and years and years and years but not anymore I said no just forget it I can't be bothered oh she said okay then bye I'm completely not interested but at this point she'd already sent it she sent me the forms and I thought oh just okay I'll jump through these hoops I can't
be bothered with it but I'll jump through the hoops anyway here we go again more hoops so luckily it's a pdf file and with the iPad they're quite easy to I didn't realize how to do it but now I do quite easy to change and to fill in with the pdf without the iPad all I do is just save it to the iCloud or to the iPad then open it up and it gives me an option to edit it I can do it in handwriting or I can do it with typing and so I filled
it in send it back and I filled another one in send that back I think it was two or three forms to fill in so I did that and they sent me I think it's today they sent me forms back saying you just need to pay we received your forms we need to just go onto this pay money click on this link pay by credit or debit card and then we'll send you a certificate so I did that I got the certificate through with the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis I actually spoke to the man
on Friday lovely very friendly and he he said that normally the students do this during the course they get handed forms and they fill it in and all that stuff I said yeah I wanted to get it done first I want to try to be organized I want to get everything done before I turn up so that the college has all my information and he said that's fair enough but what I need he said I'll send the forms through for you because there's no isn't on the website no nothing you can download anything there's no
you had to email them or phone them to inquire about membership which I found a little bit unusual I mean it gives it the personal touch but in this day and age of everything being available to just do yourself I expected it to be one of those situations and then I didn't know what the number it asked that when I got the form through it was in word now I couldn't open that up in my iPad because it didn't allow me to edit it however on my laptop when I bought the laptop I got a
three years worth of Microsoft 365 personal whatever it's called technically I should be able to use that on all the different things which I probably can but I just haven't done anything but it was just automatically on my on my laptop so what I did is I fiddled around a little bit and then I uploaded it onto my hard drive on my laptop filled that form in and then put it back onto the iCloud because I'm always I share everything I don't share with other people but I share it with the different laptops and the
computers and stuff and the phones everything's on the iCloud and then I then I uploaded so I filled that in and I sent that to the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and then they sent me a form I know they sent me yeah they had that and then they said and also a payment thing where to pay so I did that so I paid that money and I received they said we'll send you a receipt we'll send you the certificate in the post I said can you just send can you send me a copy please
digitally because then I can forward it on to the college and they did the insurance had already done that so what I did today is I forwarded those onto the college so they've now got the certificate of insurance and that the certificate of me being an affiliate member of the society British Society of Clinical Hypnosis as an affiliate member so it's all done a lot of faffing around but it's done so that's two things I don't need to do in the future you know as far as you know insurance and that's sorted the course is
sorted I just got a turn up now received a thing as well which is good like a message sort of saying welcome so it's quite nice I feel quite good that it's now I feel good that I've been able to get organized because I'm not always always not not not always the best organized person in the world but I've done all right this time so I'm not leaving things to the last minute or putting stuff off because I don't want to do it I'm actually getting it done um I've ordered well I've already received all
the books on the reading list I had a couple of them already so that's done I will look also at the the research papers that are on the reading list as well to maybe look to download those and then that's that's kind of everything I think the only other things I need to do is I'll have to have supervision which will be kind of a mixture of seeing how I'm getting on with the course do I need any help with any of that stuff the academic side or you know is there anything I don't quite
understand or need help with do I need any extra tuition or I guess I'm not sure but the other thing is to sort of see how I'm getting on with the practical side of things so I think I think I'm going to have to have um have supervision but one because it's not mentioned it but just my usually it does so I probably have to have supervision once a month which I'm not quite sure how I'll fit it in maybe try and do it at the end of the day or maybe maybe try and do
on the phone maybe just say look can we just do a do the supervision over the phone during the week or something and that might be a way of doing it I'm not sure so that's that's an extra expense so that'll probably be another 40 pound or something a month so but it's okay because it's all part of it and it's a gradual it's like that's not I haven't got to pay all that all out in one you know for the whole year ahead and they didn't say that supervision was included so yeah I'm kind
of prepared now I mean it's Tuesday this is only Tuesday so I've still got um Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday yeah I still got one week and three days left before I kind of head up there head up there ready to learn learn learn learn I don't know what that was uh so yeah it's it should be all right should be okay should be fine yes so we'll just see just see how it goes see how things are you know just just see so today I didn't do a huge amount today I went to bed late
last night I mean normally I've been going to bed about nine ten o'clock the last few days although I was up all night on Saturday night watching boxing but I had gone to bed earlier but it was very hard to stay up until like five in the morning and it's you know I did that for years staying up and it was easy but now having gone back to sleeping during the night time and last night I was sitting here it was weird because what I was doing I was being a bit um emotional emotional maybe
I was looking at pictures of Andre I was listening to James Morrison on Spotify since you're gone nothing seems to work no more da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da baby kid that's that's what he sounds like um I'm not selling these albums to you am I oh we gotta go out and buy his album oh he sounds brilliant James Morrison you say oh no he's great voice and great great
great songs out so I was listening to him and uh just looking at pictures of the little one and before I knew it it was like I think half two in the morning I just what so I don't know what happened to the time and I was doing a little bit of research for educational courses just looking just looking to see what's about I mean I'd like to do a master's in I think there's three things four things that I'm interested in as far as if I was to do a master's one would be hypnosis
but I can't find a master's anywhere for that there used to be a master's but it's gone used to be two I think but they're gone but doesn't mean there won't be another one pop up sometime time psychology so but uh so that's that one and another the other one too is neuroscience and chronic pain so they're the the four subjects that I'm interested in from a doing a degree perspective now I'm thinking very I'm not I say seriously I'm not seriously I'm not being really serious but I'm thinking of applying to do a psychology
degree undergraduate which starts in October this year and it's with the open university and it it takes basically it's 60 points a year to get an undergraduate degree with honors it's 360 points so that's six years because I've already got an undergraduate degree I might be able to knock off 120 points off of that so I might be able to do it in four years and I don't know I'll have to contact them and see but in a way I don't want to knock off too many points because I want to be able to learn
the subject you know I mean I have studied psychology part of my counselling degree as well as just privately I've studied it for years but not in an intense academic way so I'm not sure I'm not sure what to do with that I mean if I did manage to do it over four years I could technically do the first two years so do 60 points in the first year 60 points in the second year and in the third year just I'll do it in three years do 120 points so maybe do it in three years
rather than four because it's part-time and I can apply for the fees to pay the fees because it's the second although it's a second degree it's in a subject because psychology it's in a subject that they allow people to do second degrees in and still get a student loan I wouldn't be able to get grants or anything like that but get a student loan it covers the cost it's all I need which means I'll be able to do that part-time which is you know I think they they figure out for every 60 points you do
about 20 hours a week but you know it depends on the person doesn't I guess I think in my degree I'm not sure if I spent 20 hours a year studying now so we'll see we'll see but I can't apply for it until July so what are we in now March April May June so still over three months before I can even apply so I'm just gonna it's there on the back burner I've put my name down with the Open University and they probably contact me send me an email when it's over open for application
last night I applied to do a GCSE in English and Maths now I didn't get any qualifications at school I left school with nothing I didn't pass any exams now all through my adult life I put down on jobs and any educational courses I've had to put down stuff in I've always put down you know GCSE or O-level because we didn't do GSCSE when I was a kid there was it was City and Guilds that was like the lowest of the low academically but City and Guilds was a good it was more for practical skills
you know like carpentry electrician stuff like that welding you know plumbing City and Guilds it was more for trades not for mathematics which is why I did a City and Guilds in mathematics that's a very low level I still failed and the rest of my subjects the ones that I was allowed to do exams in I was a CSE level so there's basically City and Guilds was almost they just gave that to people that weren't able to do normal exams in and I think it was only for maths it was almost just like well see
if he can do something it's just just seeing I thought they'd made it up actually but it was a real organization but I don't know if that didn't work I guess maybe I'd have ended up with a McDonald's certificate or something I don't know it's who knows it was it was a little bit you know a bit hmm so I didn't do O level I did CSE now I knew right from years back that I wasn't going to be doing O levels I knew I think two years earlier because we had to have mock exams
and they see what level you're at and I was CSE level not O level which divided the school even more those doing O level than those doing CSE CSE is just a lower level so it's a lower a lower I don't know exam lower level of achievement whatever so when I left school I think in the 90s I don't know if it was late 90s middle 90s but it was anyways after I left school they combined O level with CSE and called them GCSEs in England I think in Scotland they call them something different in
Wales there's something different I think Northern Ireland I think there's something different I think that might be BTEC or something I don't know if I'm does that sound right BTEC so and then there's A levels which was a lot a much higher you know that's for more for 16 to 18 year olds but I left school at 16 because when I actually left school at 15 but you're not allowed to leave school at 16 anymore you have to stay on at school until you're 18 or you go to sixth form college I think you're allowed
to leave if you've got a job if I'm I think so pretty sure you can leave school if you've got a job to go to but I might be wrong there I might be wrong on that one see it never used to be the case see when I left school you could smoke at 16 and you could leave school well at 16 you could get married at 16 you could have babies at 16 pretty much everything you could do anything an adult could do so you know at 16 apart from drink you couldn't buy alcohol
or you know until you're 18 and you weren't allowed to own a property until you were I think 18 you weren't allowed to the other thing you couldn't do at 16 is vote I'm pretty sure if you had to be 18 to vote and another thing you couldn't do at 16 if you were a boy you couldn't so at 16 you could make sweet love to your partner but unless you were gay then you had to be I think you might have even been 21 at that point we're going back a while but then it
got down to 18 and then they got it down to 16 and that was that was a very quick vote that's a very quick quote vote in the house of commons I think and they that was a big old party after that there was there was a lot of happy very happy elderly gentlemen very pleased very joyous full of I thought it's Christmas I was running around honestly so that the age of consent down to 16 that was a triumphant day for quite a few people that were happy with the result and so there was
like equal rights then between boys and girls and straight and hetero and non-hetero and all that stuff everything's kind of equal and I know if you're in America you're like what do you mean 16 we're talking about will we don't like willison we don't imagine 16 yeah 16 those are the laws of the land my friend 18 for drinking 18 for drinking what you mean 21 surely no 18 it's got to be weird imagine having to wait till you're 21 before you can drink yet you're allowed to drive when you're about three three years old
in America you can drive a car you can own a gun when you're an embryo honestly you can I'm not joking babies are born with guns in their hands it's amazing so I think you can own a gun I don't know what age is at 18 so you can own a gun at 18 but you can't drink and 18 is the legal age of consent for whoopsie as well whoopee whoop whoop so yeah it's weird I mean I'm surprised this country is not full of American young people coming here so they can drink and do
stuff and have fun but they'll be doing it there anyway wouldn't they but to be able to come here and just this is almost like me going to Amsterdam that's what it'd be like probably it's almost in America coming here is almost like sex tourism because you can do all these things hedonistic things that you can't do in your own country until you know if you're 17 you're literally you're 18 or let's say 17 you can come here you can do things you're not allowed to do until you're 18 there and then depending on how
big you are and how old you are or how old you look you can drink you can go into pups and nightclubs and although it's weird it's changed a bit now I'm only going on supermarkets rather than nightclubs but I've seen these signs around they say if you don't look 25 years old you'll be asked to provide identification okay this is like for nothing as far as I'm aware there's nothing in this country that needs you to be older than 18 nothing I might be wrong you can tell me if I'm wrong on something but
in the in England if you're 18 you're old enough to do anything that is legal there's no age there's no age limit to illegal activity I'm sure but for legality 18 is the oldest age you need to be but other than that 16 for most things 17 to drive or to get a driving license provisional and then learn to drive and be able to drive and own your own car and all that stuff 17 16 you can ride mopeds and motorbikes up to 125 cylinder cc 18 everything else everything I mean it's not that much
really it's it's it's just I think for legal things being able to vote although that might be put down to 16 I'm not sure um owning your own house I think getting married I'm pretty sure you need permission under the age of 18 now to get married unless you go to Gretna Green it's a famous place in Scotland where you can get married pretty much I think any age I think I think they might have an age limit of 16 on that one I know I know someone that went to Gretna Green I haven't been
I kind of wish I had I quite that's something that's been missing from my life some random marriage spurred a moment let's get married what a lovely idea yeah that's something I've missed that would have been quite good I mean if nothing else it's got to be exciting isn't it I haven't done anything exciting pretty much ever really I've never done anything exciting in my life so that would have been something really like wow getting married especially if I don't know the person very well now that's exciting yeah that's what I'm going to do I
need to find someone that's marry me someone that's very very very unfussy person of low self-esteem no someone lovely someone lovely to get married I just want to get married like let's get married shall we really yeah okay and just go and just do it and then just have a weekend away because you could do the same in Las Vegas I think can't you pretty much just go there at any age and get married I might be wrong on that I might be wrong there's a few differences anyway I was talking about education so I
got no I came out of uni with school I left school at 15 1986 April we could just leave that was it and it was weird because we had to I had to go back in June to do exams but why who was going to force me to do that I didn't have any parent guidance at that point the parents are split up by the time I left school in April or they were just in the midst of splitting up and then I went and lived yeah I went and lived with my step-mom and mom
and my little brother and I was still 15 and through that summer because I wasn't 16 till the end of August I didn't need to do the exams but I just turned up anyway because I was a kid and I was used to being told what I had to do and I thought I had to I thought I was gonna go to prison if I didn't so I turned up and I just tick tick tick tick just wrote down a bunch of rubbish apart from in the English exam I might have actually passed the English
exam to be honest but I'm not sure I can't remember I'm pretty sure I got a zero or u for most which is what does u stand for unscorable something like that so I didn't give it any effort and this it's bugged me a little bit over the years because I don't know I kind of wish I'd put a bit more let's school okay it wasn't it wasn't I didn't like high school but there was a part of me that wanted to be academically successful there was there's you know how some people fantasize about being
maybe a model or being a film star or being you know famous or whatever I have the same kind of fantasies about being clever being academically academically and having academic achievements now you could say well I've got a degree that's okay it's more than okay considering really where I came from and how I left school with nothing I had to blag my way onto the course because you're supposed to have generally a levels to do a degree an undergraduate degree once you get to a certain age they they don't mind so much but they expect
at least O levels or GCSEs so I kind of fibbed a little bit on that the good thing now is quite often when I fill in academic information they say what is your highest level of academic achievement so I can now put in undergraduate degree with honours so you know I haven't got even think about O levels or GCSEs or exams from school that I didn't even attempt to do but I have a little bit of regret a little bit I don't know so I'm thinking I'd quite like more so with maths than English but
maybe just do both and I know it's a much lower level of education compared to a degree but I'd like to have GCSE in English and Maths just to prove to myself that I can do it now again the English I got I don't think I'd have any I think I'd be not so easy but I think it would be very doable mathematics I'm not so sure because my knowledge mathematically is probably level of about it's not much more than a 10 year old really it's very basic addition the the fours the four ones adding
up taking away multiplying dividing that that is kind of it I can do some fractions I understand fractions kind of gets a little bit complicated with like adding and dividing fractions and stuff I mean there's different ways of doing it but not something I spend a lot of time doing if I'm honest I had to learn about statistics a bit with the university course and you know if you do any kind of or read research papers or read books about stuff like that statistics is always quite often mentioned so I understand I feel like I
understand statistics but working it all out and stuff that's a different thing anyway I'm going to go now so thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself you deserve to be happy lots of love bye
