Hello and welcome to this podcast. Let me bore you to sleep. My name is Jason Newland and my website is jasonnewland.com. What do you mean it was out of tune? It wasn't out of tune.

It was only out of tune if I was trying to sing it differently but I was purposefully singing it that way. Not really, it wasn't really singing though was it? Not really. Anyway, hello.

Hi. How you doing? Are you well? Are you? Are you well? Are you okay? Well, today is Monday the 2nd of May 2022. Shush, shush, shush, shush.

And here I am making a recording at a very strange time. It's actually six minutes past six in the morning. Morning.

Morning has broken like the first morning. Blackbirds have spoken like the first bird. I don't remember all the words.

I don't. You know, I used to quite like hymns at school. I do, honestly, I don't know why.

I quite like them. One of my favourites was Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Excelsis or something. That was good.

Some of the songs are quite catchy. Gloria, Gloria, Excelsis, Gloria. Blimey, can I used to be able to do that with just one breath in the past? Can't now.

No, I need about 17 breaths just to do that one, that one note. So what's happening in the world? I don't know. I don't know.

I've been watching a little bit on YouTube about the Johnny Depp Amber Heard trial thing. And because they've been streaming it live on YouTube. And the one thing I noticed out of the whole thing is the questioning of the lawyers.

Like when the lawyers are questioning people, the questions are just irrelevant. Completely irrelevant to why they're there. And the other day, they were, the lawyer was questioning a psychiatrist who had interviewed, is it Amber Heard? I don't know.

She is Johnny Depp's ex-wife or girlfriend or whatever. And the lawyer kept asking her questions about muffins. It was ridiculous.

It was, I mean, all I can assume is the lawyers are getting paid by the minute. Because they're the winners. They're the only winners in this.

You know, the lawyers are the only, they're the only ones that ever win when it comes to, you know, legal cases. They're all becoming, well, richer. I was going to say rich, but richer.

That's where the millions are going. On lawyers. Johnny Depp, I guess, is hoping that his good name will be returned.

And, you know, the things that he was accused of or whatever, or found guilty of, in fact, he was found guilty in the previous case. That's still not going to go away. You know, people that believe, people that believe, are willing to believe horrible things about people, they're going to continue to believe it.

They're not going to change their mind because a judge or, you know, 12 people on a jury decide this, whatever. You know, people have already made their mind up. So, you know, I think with him, those that are fans of him, you know, are not going to care either way what the result is.

I mean, I don't care either way because I've got no interest. But why are you talking about it then? Because it's a boring podcast. The word boring is in the podcast.

So I talk about things that I'm not interested in. I just find that it's tedious. The way, but I guess really, the main thing they're trying to do on this trial is it's about personality.

It's about character. And, you know, Johnny Depp's lawyers are trying to prove that he's got, his character is, you know, that he's, that he is how he wishes to portray himself. And his lawyers are trying to portray her as being the way that they wished for her to be portrayed, be very, very vague on this.

And it's the same way the other side, the other side as well. Yeah, it's about getting into details of the trial, because I'm really not interested in accusations and such and such. But, you know, when two people, when two people are in a room together, you've got two versions of a story.

And it's like, well, I don't know. Who do you believe? I believe my nan. That's who I believe.

Who do you believe? I believe Bob who cuts the grass. You know, I mean, how should I know? I don't know. I wasn't there.

But one time I wasn't outside Johnny Depp's house with my binoculars. The one time, the one night. I missed everything.

It's got to be weird. Imagine being that famous. I think it's Johnny Depp's, it's a weird kind of fame, isn't it? Because he's been famous forever.

But he was never like a huge, I don't know, he was in films. But he was never in like huge, huge films. I'm talking about in the past, before the, I don't know, when he played a pirate.

Apparently, those films are really big, popular and stuff. And he's been in loads of popular films. But when I say big films, like, in the same way that Arnold Schwarzenegger was in, like, huge, like big action hero, wasn't he? And Sylvester Stallone and the period when Kirk Douglas's son was like the biggest star and everything he did was great.

And, you know, or Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks, never kind of seem to reach that level of popularity, in the sense of his movies being huge. Like in the past, I'm talking about before the Blackbeard or whatever he plays. I've liked lots of his films.

Oh, Johnny, Johnny. I've watched loads of his films over the years. The Edward Scissorhands, of course, and then.

But even like Alice in Wonderland. They were popular, they weren't like, huge. Maybe they were, maybe I'm just wrong.

But he's always, it seems like he's one that he's always been on the like, the quiet side of show. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe because he's not really been in the limelight, a lot of his career.

And perhaps the really big roles go to people that are in the limelight, because that's what sells tickets. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, I don't know. I amaze myself, I'm an expert on practically everything.

Wow. So yeah, Johnny Depp, what films has he been in? I can't remember. I did the one with Boss's Name from the Godfather.

And I've always been, yeah, I've been a fan of Johnny Depp, like as an actor, because he's very, he's a really, really, he's a great actor, actually. But he's all, I think his problems been, I got itchy bum. Just not, not the whole, but just my left buttock.

It's itchy for some reason. There's a chance sometimes I get bitten by no one nice, unfortunately. Like the gnats, gnats, they call gnats, you know, when you go into the field and they're flying all around.

Sometimes I get the odd bite, gnat bite. I don't know how they get inside me underpants. Actually, I do know how they get, no, perhaps I should wear clothes when I walk around the field.

Oh, it's itchy. Thing is, it's not really acceptable to scratch yourself in public these days. It's like anywhere.

I mean, even your armpit is like, well, I don't know if it's really, maybe you should, or your nipples or, or your head or something, but especially not your groin. You can't just like scratch yourself. Or at least you should do it on the outside of your clothes.

But if you've got an itch, you've got to scratch it. And yeah, really. Don't you think? I mean, sometimes I go out and I just got an itch like, oh, or a hair's caught.

I'll say no more on that one. And it's like, oh, this is actually uncomfortable. I have to straighten things out.

I have to, but I can't because I'm in public. But it's, yeah, there's always a way of doing it, I guess. Just have to be covert.

Covert pube straightener. So yeah, it's Monday, it's bank holiday Monday. Another bank holiday.

We only had one two weeks ago. Was it two weeks ago? Yeah. I think it was.

I think it was two weeks ago. I think it was. What's the deal with this stupid? I mean, bank holidays are brilliant.

But they just seem a bit random at times. I mean, yeah, we've got bank holiday after Christmas, got bank holiday Easter. Those are bank holidays I can kind of understand because they're connected to something.

But to have two bank holidays, that was an Easter one. So that's fair enough. I guess.

But there's another I think there's two bank holidays in May, one at the end of May. And then that's it until August. And then that's it until December.

I think. Although, I remember, I remember, you know, when Prince William got wed back in whatever year it was, 2011, I think. He, there was talk of having a bank holiday to commemorate their wedding.

But I don't think anything happened. I don't think anything came of it. Unless it did.

That's always my cop out. I don't think it happened unless it did. In which case it did happen.

Yeah. I'm not sure. So I finished watching, I'll keep saying the, I finished watching Vikings.

I've completed the entire, every episode, every single episode. And it took a month, pretty much. In fact, it took over a month.

Yeah, it took over a month to get it all done. So I started watching Valhalla Vikings, which is 100 years later. But this one is made and it's on.

What's it? Netflix. So I'm on episode two of that. I think might be eight or 10 episodes.

So I watched that. And then I don't know, because of the momentum, it might be a year before the next season's out. And I might have just lost interest by then.

I mean, if there is seven seasons, I'd watch them. Watch every single episode now. But I'll just watch, I'll watch the season and that'll be it.

And then I'll move on to, is that what you do, Jason? Just watching television? No, it's not at all. I sometimes go to the toilet and I sleep. Other than that.

Yeah. No, I don't watch TV all the time. I just, I don't watch television, like normal, you know, TV.

Just don't watch it. Just that's why I stream stuff. And I rarely watch any normal TV at all.

Apart from just the news. And then usually after about five minutes, I turn that off because for some reason it's never happy. It's never a happy experience for some reason.

So the next thing to watch on Netflix is Russian Doll. I watched the first season of it and it's good. I liked it.

It's got the star of it was in Orange is the New Black, or Black is the New Orange, whatever it's called. And she was one of the stars in that show. She's good.

It's very, it's very, it's a weird show. If you haven't seen it, I suggest checking it out because it's, it's good. So I'll watch that new season and then I'll decide what to watch next.

I mean, so many different shows. Probably, yeah, possibly going to go for 24. I'll watch every episode of that.

But on the same side, I'm quite interested in maybe watching maybe another sort of similar thing to the Vikings. There's Black Sails, but that's not available. There's another one.

I forget what it's called. Some might, I think that's Vikings as well, actually. We'll see.

I'm not, I'm not really, I mean, I haven't got the remotes the other side of the room. We've just at least three footsteps. So I can't be bothered to go that travel that far.

Otherwise, I can have a little look through on screen and see what's available. I mean, I've got a watch list, but I don't know. We'll see.

I'm not too bothered, to be honest. Just, I'd quite like to watch a show that's completed, you know, so it's all finished. Every episode's on there and I could just watch beginning to end without needing to wait for another episode to come.

Because quite often by the time it comes, I've moved on. So I'd like to try and watch every episode. So there's a few seasons, a few shows like that, just have to kind of be picky.

Because, you know, I like to stick to my decision. I mean, I don't stick to the decision as in like I start right at the beginning. And I think, okay, I'm going to watch every episode of this.

I'll wait until I've watched a couple episodes to see if I like it first. And then I decide I'm going to stick with this till the very end. And I do.

If only I could be a bit more like that in real life. You know, stick to things. Yeah.

So I'll be brief about yesterday. I won't be brief, but I'll be brief about I had, I came home early. So I didn't go to the hypnosis course on Saturday, because there's a couple of reasons.

It wasn't just, I mean, I was still coughing a bit and I did want to sort of travel coughing. It wasn't just that it was sort of the anxiety and stuff. And I was concerned and I was, because last weekend, not this, not last weekend, but the previous weekend when I did the training, the first weekend, which was at the end of April, end of April, beginning of April, rather, sorry, beginning of April.

And I had a bit of an anxiety thing there, well, quite a lot actually. And when I was, it's in the restaurant again, you know, so, but also in the room, traveling. And it was weird because this is, I've had issues of anxiety and, you know, for the whole of my life, really.

But the actual, the extreme sort of panic attack things, I haven't experienced those in the way, like the way, in from the past for like 17 years. Really, the last time it was really bad was 2004. And, you know, I overcame it and I moved on.

And for some reason, since I started pretty much doing this course, it's come on again. And, I mean, I mentioned, I said, I'm not going to go into great detail because that's not what this is about. And, but yeah, just, I'm just being open and honest.

So, the week before last, just over a week ago, I went to the hospital because I had a funny turn and they checked me out and said, I was fine. It was anxiety attack. And I was like, oh, brilliant.

Great. So, I felt guilty for wasting their time. But they said, no, it's fine.

Come in anytime. Just not when I'm here. Like, oh, really? That's a bit rude.

They said, not really. You smell of mint. Not the nice mint, not like chewing gum mint.

You smell of the mint of the plant mint. And stinging that one. I said, that's rude.

You can't say that. So, I just did. Bye.

And your cartwheels, none of that happened. So, I, yesterday morning, I decided I'm going to go. I wasn't coughing the night before.

So, I thought, okay, that's, that's good sign. And yeah, I'm going to go. And I went along, got up really early, traveled.

The train was delayed, but it still got me there in plenty of time. So, I ended up at the venue, got a taxi to the venue because it's just straight there rather than waiting around for buses, especially on a Sunday. So, I got there nine o'clock or just after nine.

So, I had a half an hour to, or about 25 minutes to just relax before going into the room. So, I got a cup of coffee. I think that might have been a problem.

I did drink quite a bit of coffee yesterday. By quite a bit. I had a coffee in the morning and then I had, I think I had three coffees before lunch.

I think I might, yeah, I think I might have had three coffees before lunch. And then a Coke, a bottle of Coke, a warm Coke, for some reason, in the restaurant that we went into. So, we just, it was a local restaurant in the same road as the venue.

And it was just, I just had a burger, ordered a burger and fries. And the two people I was with from the course, one had a pizza and one had, the pizza was huge, bigger than a plate. And she said she wasn't hungry.

So, that's quite funny. And then the other person had a pasta and something, I don't know. It had, it was an Italian restaurant.

So, it had a weird Lighini, Bidini, whatever name of the, of the, of the dinner, the meal. I didn't know what it was. And the, yeah, the staff were really friendly.

And it was just, you know, it wasn't like a top-class restaurant. It was just a standard Trafalgar Square sort of eating place. So, it's okay.

It's not a huge place, but it was, it was okay. It was all right. Managed to get, because last time, the weekend before, there was the half marathon going on, on Sunday.

So, the amount of people there couldn't find anywhere to eat. Eventually, we did. So, that's not really a true sentence, is it? Couldn't find anywhere, but you did find somewhere.

Yeah, but we was, we went into a few places, you know, trying to find somewhere. And this time, it was easy. It wasn't busy, really, at all, not compared to it.

Although there was some kind of activity going on, where all the roads were blocked off, again, when I was leaving. So, in the end, I ended up going to the embankment tube. And there's this, is it a district line or the circle line? I don't know, either the yellow or green one.

And it, it goes all the way around to Liverpool Street, or via Liverpool Street station. So, I got off there, and then got, got, went to the train station there. And so, that was a fairly easy journey, actually.

I couldn't find the entrance, though. The entrance, here's a weird thing, right? The entrance is hidden, because it's not hidden, but I mean, you know, they're not like covered in bushes, or in a trap door, you know. It's, it's there.

But this, as you go down the road, walking towards the embankment, there's, I think, a bridge or something. So, as you go, it steps up, I think, leads to a bridge. I didn't walk up it, but.

And then, and I said, where's the entrance to the train station? And someone said, it's down there somewhere. So, I look, there's some taxis. So, I thought, I'll get a taxi, because I can't see the entrance.

Three taxis, one's got people in, drives away. The other two taxis, nobody in them. Just empty.

And I'm waiting, I'm thinking, nothing happening, no activity here at all. So, I walk up to the end of the road, like, where is the entrance to the embankment train station, or tube station? And I get up, and there's this kiosk, like a food kiosk, or something, I think it is. And I walk up, that's all I see at the end.

I'm walking up there, and as I walk up, I see behind this kiosk is the entrance to the station. So, from that road, you can't see anything, can't even see the entrance to the station. It's a very badly, there's no signs or anything, like embankment, tube station, nothing like that, which I was kind of surprised about.

It's almost like they don't want people to use it. I mean, there was people on there, yet, when I got down there, I could get a ticket easily, there was not a lot of people about. Over £6 just to get from the embankment to Liverpool Street station, just one way.

When I lived in London, last, before I moved, it was over 20 years ago now, but a travel card, I think, was like £3, and you could pretty much go anywhere on the tube all day long. And now, just to five stops, £6. It's a very rippy, offy thing going on there, I believe.

But going back to the morning part, I got up and I had about six, five, five books, which I was going to give away when I got there, because I had copies of them. So, the hypnosis books. So, I took them up there, so the bag was quite heavy, which, it's alright, I stuck it on my back, because I got this little backpack, backpack, not backpack, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it's a backpack, I think they call it, and that was alright, and yes, it was a, it's a half hour walk, I mean, I was walking really quickly, like proper, purposefully walking fast, and still, I got there, I left at half past, and I got there, I think, three minutes to, and the bus was, the train was three minutes past.

So, you know, it's a, it's a fair distance, and I was walking fast, you know, I don't normally walk fast. So, I get there, and I walk in to get my ticket, the office is closed, you know, blinds are down, last time they were open, they just were closed. So, I went to the machine, and this is where things are just really a bit dumb, like the way it works, is, so I had to figure out what ticket to get, and I kept putting in Liverpool Street, it wasn't coming up, so I was like, how are you doing? I want to go to Liverpool, Liverpool Street, London.

Eventually, I got the ticket, it was like £29, and I said, okay, and they said, I'll put your, put your card in the machine, so I did, and it said, not accepting cards, so I couldn't use my debit card. Luckily, I had cash on me, enough to pay for the ticket, and that's only because I took it specifically with me to pay for the taxi, not to pay for the, for the train. I was going to do that on my card.

Now, if I hadn't had that cash, I would not have been able to get on the train, because there's no cash point machines, the closest cash point machine is actually at my house, like just the petrol station across the road, well, not across the road, but about 10 minute walk from where I live. Now, there is a shop, but it's a post office, but the post office is not open at that time of day, on a Sunday. So, I would have been, I would have had to gone home, which in itself, possibly would have been the best idea, but hey, luckily, I had the money, and I paid, and I get down on the platform with like two minutes to spare, thinking, oh, I just made it.

There's a sign saying, um, due to a disturbance or something, the your, the train has been delayed until further notice. So, I don't know what to do next. I'm looking for somewhere to sit down, because my little legs and feet were a bit tired.

After all that walking, I find somewhere to sit down. They had seats outside, but they were wet, so it must have been raining. But they had a couple of shelters, so I managed to sit in one of the shelters.

Bit chilly, but nothing, it's all right, just normal early morning kind of coolness. And then I hear the train, eventually, probably about 15 minutes late, and I'm thinking, yeah, okay, it's coming now. And I was right, it was coming, and it came, and then it went.

It just shot by, didn't stop. So, really, really, really, is that really going to happen? So, and the train that I was waiting for went past, and then probably about 10 minutes later, another one popped by and stopped. It was a slow train, and it was stopping at all the stops, because quite often I get on a train, and there's only three stops, or sometimes just two stops, you know, it's literally direct.

It'll stop, maybe one stop, and then the next two stops are in London. This one stopped about nine times, eight times or something. It was a bit of a slug train.

That's my impression of a slug, which is a bit weird. So, I got there, as I said, I didn't have time to do anything really. I didn't get a McMuffin or anything like that.

I just, there was, I think, three taxis or four taxis available. Last time there was loads, so I thought, okay, I'll just get a taxi now, get there, and then, you know, see how I go from then. And I did go in a taxi.

Taxi driver didn't speak to me at all. I didn't speak to him. I wasn't, just, just didn't chat.

I guess I probably could have started a conversation, but he didn't seem that interested, and I wasn't really that interested. Just, it's already been a long day. So, we got, got there, and he dropped me outside the place, and I phoned one of the people on the course to tell him I was there, because, just, I'm outside if you want to come and see me, because I didn't want to go in there, and then, because, you know, I wanted to leave it to the last minute before I actually went in.

And technically, technically, it was actually a good morning. It was the man in charge. It was nice, and very knowledgeable, and it was, it was cool.

And then lunchtime came, and so I've already kind of mentioned what happened there. I left, I left my, the two people I was eating with. I said, I've got to go.

Not feeling great, and I'll catch you later. And I left, and I waited around a little bit outside. I thought, if I see how I'm feeling before I make a decision, and then I decided, nah, I'm going.

So, I went in, into the room, you know, where we were training. I said, yeah, not feeling well, I'm going home now. That's the good thing about being an adult, you don't have to ask permission.

So, that was nice. So, I hope, hope it's not causing problems, but you know, I've got to go. See you later.

Bye. And that's what I did. One of my friends on the course stayed, stayed outside with me for 10 minutes, talking to me.

She was concerned about my well-being, and I said, I'm fine. It's just one of those things, sort of, almost like something's come back from the past. It's like, oh, I thought, is it all gone? And, you know, it's, it's okay.

And, and then I get on the train. Oh, I get into Liverpool Street Station. The Tube's very busy, and as I'm walking through the station towards my train, and the train's, I'm getting on it about 17 minutes before it leaves, so there's quite a wait.

And it's the longest train I think I've ever seen. It's so long. And I start hearing football chants, and I was like, oh, please don't get on my train.

Now, I don't know what train they got on, but there was a lot, just from the sound of it, they sounded like there was hundreds of them. But I just walked on, and got on the train as far down as possible, and I found a chair, or a seat, that was on its own. And I sat down on that, and just waited, waited and waited, and then a man gets on, and was it this? Yeah, he started watching football, or something, on his phone with the volume up.

Not, not using headphones, because I know how complicated headphones are to use. So, but he was just watching it. And I'll just, I can't be bothered to even think, worry about it.

It's just like, this is an adult, it wasn't a child, it was an adult. And I was just, oh, well. Oh, well.

So, he stayed on for a while, and then got off. And I checked the timetable to see if there's any buses that may coincide with, you know, the train getting me home. And there was.

It was so cool. I didn't have to wait more than about 10 minutes for the bus. And they came and took me home.

Or, you know, stop the road from where I live. So, that was good. You know, that bit, getting home was good.

Still felt a bit weird and stuff, but eventually, eventually, eventually, I kind of calmed down a bit, and I was okay. I'm ready to go back to bed. I really am.

Weird. So, it's a bit of a bit of shorter than normal recording, but it's still like 45 minutes. I'm going to go.

Very tired. I woke up extra early today. Went to bed early last night.

But I was in bed by about nine, or was it 10, something like that. So, thank you for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself.

Be gentle with yourself. Lots of love. Bye.
