Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland. This is let me bore you to sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
Hope you will blah blah blah. Now this is number 701. How about that ladies and gentlemen.
I found that impressive. 701. Wow.
I know. I know. Impressive.
Amazing. Outstanding. Hmm.
Or pointless. I mean there's other words that could be used. 701 pointless hours.
More actually. I can't actually work it out if I'm honest because of the amount of um recordings there are. But at least 700 hours so far.
And 701 at the end of this recording. There's some recordings last for longer than an hour. So you're probably looking at about 800, 850 hours, something like that.
And then if you add in the extra sessions I do with music, you know it's even longer. But just the basic recordings themselves. Probably about 850 hours plus.
Now that's a lot. That is a lot isn't it. It's not just me.
That is. Is it just me? Is it just me? Is it? I'm not sure. Sure.
I thought I'd do something today. This evening on Saturday the 7th of August 2021. I thought I'd do something slightly different.
I thought I'd do a something I've been wanting to do for a while. And a magic trick. So here we go.
So I want you to think of a think of a number. Okay. And it's between one and 50.
A number between one and 50. Now what I want you to do. Okay.
Is let me know. I'm trying to think how via the podcast episode maybe. Or whatever.
Just if you just let me know which ones I got correct. Okay. Because what I'm going to be doing is real magic.
Real mind magic. Not just pretend. Pretendy Wendy.
No. Really Beely. I'm going to do real proper, proper magic.
So I'm going to project that number into your mind. So what I don't want you to think first of all of a number of your own volition. I want you to think of the number that I'm thinking of.
Okay. Because that's the point of this. Is for me to transfer that energy that I'm thinking of.
Okay. So 22. I'm going to try and just place that number into your mind.
In the second. And you know, I think I might give up coke. I've drunk about I think my 22 cans of coke today.
Too many. Too, too many. So yeah, I just so I'm gonna do a think of a number.
I have to think one in a minute. And wow, I can't believe next year is going to be 2022. Can you imagine that 2021 now 2020 22.
Wow. So yeah. Oh, okay.
Forget the 22. Okay, I'm just being silly. So and I mean, you might double it to 44.
But it doesn't matter. Maybe I'm thinking of 45. That sounds like quite a nice number.
But is it between one and 50? Between one and 50? Okay. Now I'm going to think of a number and I'm going to just transfer into your brain from here. For my mind, I'm going to send that energy and stop laughing.
I'm being serious. And that was that was breathing of a serious man. Very serious.
So I'm going to transfer, transport that number into your mind. And all I want you to do is to just hold it there. And then just let me know what it is.
And I'll tell you if you're right or not. Now it doesn't work, does it? Okay, so I'm gonna just let you think of the number and transfer into your mind now. So as I count down from five down to one, I'm going to transfer it to you during that period.
And then when I get to one, I'll then tell you what the number is. Ready? Okay. Right.
I got a number in my head. It's stuck in my head and I'm gonna transfer it to you. Five.
In fact, I'm not going to count down because that could muddle up the numbers if I start giving you numbers countdown. So I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna go boom, boom, boom, boom. Now that sounds weird as well.
Okay, I'm just gonna be quiet for a few seconds as I'm just presenting. As I as I think of the number, okay, play along the whole family better than monopoly. Much better than talking to each other.
Come on. Let's face it, you know, even if you're five years old, you've had five years of talking to your parents, you don't want to talk to them anymore. Do you? You've heard every story there is to hear.
It's like, oh, you were just waiting to get to 18 so you can move out and you're basically anyway, right? Okay, I'm just gonna just go you. Is that distracting? Isn't it? Right. I'm now transferring the number to you.
That's it. Done. I'm still thinking of the number in my head.
and I'm saying it over and over again in my head I'm now thinking of the ice cream that's in the freezer that I might eat when I finish this so that's not really relevant I don't know why I told you that but well thinking of a number is boring isn't it just you know that's all you think about just a number yeah this isn't meditation but the thing I was thinking right I like the idea of being able to do a session do a hypnosis recording where I could transfer energy from me into the microphone
through the microphone through the internet through the speakers of your headphones or your phone or whatever it is you're listening to my squeaky voice on my Weasley kind of voice and you can just get that energy spreading through your body feeling good and feeling relaxed and feeling that healing energy spreading through you and rejuvenating your bones and your skin and every part of your body while at the same time relaxing completely I ruined it didn't I sorry relax now you must relax your feet now relax your hands I think voice does have a little bit
of an effect you know if you now I want you to relax your eardrums relax and also you know someone was swearing bloody relax your bastard bloody bastardly relax you you you know what I was thinking I not sure if people in other countries I'm thinking America maybe Canada maybe not Australia because Australia's there as far as swearing goes now in some movies for example four weddings and a funeral and any of those kind of type of movies and there was a few of them wasn't there or Bridget Jones or any of those type of
movies where people are saying oh what and they're swearing but it's not real swearing it's not how English people swear because it doesn't sound offensive it sounds cute and sweet and almost kind of comical now English people they swear as it just sounds horrible it's just it's not funny English people generally just sound bitter and twisted and angry when they swear it's not like a comical thing and the C word I don't mean commitment is the if you're a southerner it doesn't sound that bad like if you're like in England if you're like a southerner
like from Essex London Suffolk Middlesex Norfolk even but you know it's like just it's all that word is almost palatable kind of it's okay but if you're a northerner it sounds angry it sounds really an aggressive word and I don't know why because the other swearing doesn't seem to be but it's like really a Northern Ireland as everything they say sounds aggressive I love you I love you I do like bloody hell really I do I love you that's not very good accent is it I don't understand it like you got Ireland and you got
or the as we have to now call it the island of Ireland I the island of Ireland how pathetic is that the island of Ireland political speech never used to be called that he should be called Ireland do you remember remember those old days the good old days when he used to be called Ireland I mean is that what's gonna happen if Scotland get their independence they're not gonna but if they ever did get their independence the politicians are here and never gonna allow it because as soon as they give another referendum to Scotland that
paves the way for another referendum for the brexit that's the reason why they can never ever allow another referendum for Scotland because Scotland had their referendum what was it five years ago six years ago and then the brexit was a couple years after that and or three years after that I don't know who's at least two three years ago isn't it now brexit brexit the see yeah that's that's one of those things whether it's good or bad I don't care I really I don't I'm not into all that hating England or hating any any country
really I think Scotland is a beautiful place and a neighbor you know it's however whatever Scotland think of England English people don't feel that way they don't feel as like okay but you don't know what it's like well I used to live in Scotland for a little while when I was a kid and my best friend one of my best friends at school was Scottish and not that that really means anything but I kind of got a little bit of a sense of because I got to know his family his family allowed me in their
house I wasn't allowed in people's houses generally there was only I only had two friends at school three actually but two really friends that where they would allow me in the house like my best friend Dean his dad really didn't let me in just he'd leave me outside occasionally I'd go in because he lived in an old people's home because he was 90 there you go but he if he was working because I think he worked there as well part-time or whatever because he lived there and so I would have liked to lived in an
old people's home that would have been that would have been my kind of environment because I've always quite gone well with old people older people it's hard to really think of them as old anymore because I'm kind of being nearly 80 myself not just 80 stone and he lived there and worked in there but I don't know if he got paid I think he just had to just work just like when I was a lot of kids you know you just have to do stuff don't you at home and his dad didn't I don't think
he liked me which is fair enough but then what's his name what was his name the Scottish friend blimey Neil Neil see Neil was my other friend and I didn't I had friends at school but I didn't have friends at school that I hung out with when I was outside of school or at least those that I did I only kind of did it once and then I wasn't really welcome back again I'm not really sure I think I don't know if I misbehaved or I mean it's one kid I used to and I was
at school with him you know because from junior school from the age of nine and ten so I had two years at a junior school and then I went to high school with the same kids you know and I was there for five years so I was spent seven years pretty much with the same bunch of kids so you get to know them don't you they might not be I might not be best friends with them but you kind of grow up with them and they're just there almost I guess spend more time with them
than your own family really I guess I suppose and I wasn't really top of the list of people to hang out with but I got on with generally most people I would say but I remember I went around one kids house and we were play fighting and then I was kicked out and I was never allowed back because I was being too rough I never understood that I just I just got carried away we were just having fun you know I didn't I mean if if you know kids are around you should hide the gun
that's why I say but there you go and but he survived it's fine what other friends yeah my friend Ivan he lived around the corner and I used to he's again one of my best friends and I used to I used to hang out around Irvine quite a lot actually I used to come around and play because I used to have we had a snooker table and a ping-pong that went over the snooker table I fitted over it so like a ping-pong table and that was we used to like play in there and stuff but
he I used to go around his house and his mum used to let me in and I'd wait for him because I don't know where he was just he'd be yeah where was he but she was happy for me to wait and she was lovely she was really really lovely person and all his brothers are all big and older than him and all into motorbikes and stuff and they're all cool all of them I think he had like two or three brothers and what was weird is I said once to him said oh I just
wish wish I had what he had and he had a go at me so you live in a massive house and you've got a snooker table and all this stuff yeah but what he didn't and a big garden and true we had all that we had a big but we had a big hey it was there was a lot of us but what he didn't understand is what I wanted was what he had is he had a really nice family I'm not saying I had a horrible family just they all seemed to get on and
we didn't get on at all he got on with his brothers he liked his brothers they all and he got on with his mom and his mom was lovely to me and and I'm not sure if he had a dad I don't remember and yeah lived in a smaller house and stuff but I just I wanted that I wanted I would have swapped with him in a second and he just it wasn't about having stuff for me because I think a lot of stuff I had in the end I bought myself anyway once I became
a teenager and I was working and that I get stuff at Christmas and birthdays and blimey I can't fault the generosity of my family during Christmas and birthdays was amazing you know I mean you know my dad and my stepmom and grandparents and aunts and uncles they all bought me all bought us stuff at loads of presents we even had to we had to buy each other presents we didn't want to we didn't like each other not like brothers so we had to kind of buy each other presents but we didn't get on but we
did on birthdays at Christmases and at those times we got on really well because we all had presents it's kind of my happiest time it wasn't because of presents I think it really was it was just because of the presents what I didn't like though was using Christmas as an excuse to buy clothes for me did not like that did not tolerate that would not let that rest and I let them know I let them know okay I didn't say anything but I wanted to say something how dare you buy me socks for my Christmas
present how dare you buy me a jumper that I can't even fit over my head when it's because you got a big head every child has a big head your body grows into your head doesn't it the head is big if it wasn't for their head there'd be no problems they'd be like everyone should be given birth every like continuously because it'd be like easy is that big old head everyone's got big heads and the body grows up eventually to the size well not to the size of the head but you know in comparison ish
how dare you buy me underwear oh a bike brilliant and then that they do that it's like chucking a really nice present just to distract me from all the other stuff that they should have been buying me anyway bastards how dare you I miss that I miss getting presents just it's hard to miss something that hasn't happened for 35 years but it's just it's not been 35 years since I've had a present but you know it's it's almost like I'm non-existent anymore for years and years and years my because I've only in contact with one
brother my little brother he's not little anymore but he's physically not little either he's big bigger than me probably but not fat he's just big big chunky strong man of muscles I'm the fat one take away my belly I weigh about I don't know 45 pounds and no that's how much the fat weighs sorry I get muddled up for years I mean I'm talking years I was getting text messages from my stepbrother and like it was almost like a round-robin kind of message between texas between me and my step sister my stepbrother and the other
my brother saying are we not gonna buy anything for each other this year are we are we and I always used to reply you do what you want I'm buying you stuff for years and years probably good eight years I'm not probably I might be exaggerating but I might not be might be longer actually now I don't bother with them because I realize they don't want to buy me anything they don't want to get me even a card they don't want to buy me a present for my birthday or for Christmas and if they don't
want to do that then they shouldn't do that should they you know really it's not really fair on me to kind of force them to do something that I want by me manipulating it by getting them stuff so I don't get anyone anything anymore apart from the only people I buy stuff for now is I send presents and cards to my dad his wife my nan when she was alive but obviously not now Andre but not now and my little brother and that's it so three people I send presents to and cards to and no
one else don't bother now and it's a shame because now I'm kind of I mean when I when I hit 50 which was last August 26 by the way it's soon for those that want to send me a card those of you that actually for those that want to send me a card obviously you can I wonder if I can put Amazon I do little Amazon gift list for those that want to send me a little birthday present or something but you know it's just nice it's not even a case of the present being good
but I do want it to be good or even doesn't matter if you don't send me a card but I do want to I do want to receive a card I really do because when I was 50 right last year I saved all the cards now I don't normally save cards I'm not really I ain't gushy you know I'm I'm not romantic like that or sentimental is probably the right word isn't it I'm not sentimental in any way but you know what I received cards from people from all over the world now I didn't receive
lots and lots of cards I'm not trying to brag I received a 7 million cards well if I received 7 million cards I wouldn't be sitting here on my own on a Saturday night because I would clearly be quite well off financially and I would be I don't know I'm not saying I'd have an escort with me I'm just saying I just because I don't drive um maybe a Mondeo or a Ferrari no I think hmm yeah I think if I had money just some money or a nice living if I was earning a lot
of nice living I probably would be able to do stuff maybe I don't know who with though because I don't know anyone anymore that's what would I do if I suddenly had a hundred grand in the bank and I could just do what I wanted what what right this second realistically what could I actually do and the answer is well I could I guess if I had money I could just order a taxi and go anywhere I wanted but at this time of night even with that kind of money where would I go because this
what would I do there's nothing open at this time it's nearly midnight now Wow I probably end up just getting a taxi to McDonald's or something well I wouldn't go myself I'd get the taxi to go to McDonald's for me so I can't get deliveries because this building is blacklisted for some reason even some taxi firms won't pick up from here because of the dodginess of the area it's true it's true supply even if you got money you have to plan don't you I mean something I would quite like to do I mean it's changed
a bit might the idea of it is to go to Thailand and just feed feed the people the people that are hungry over there because there's a lot of because of the coronavirus and it's caused a lot of people to be living below the poverty line like really because I don't get help the way that in England we get help there is practically no help at all they have to rely upon strangers to help them so yeah I've watched some videos it's a bit heartbreaking actually seeing hundreds and hundreds of people queuing up sitting on
this on the floor in queues waiting to get free food and a bottle of water or something so I think that's what I would do I'd go out there and just feed people every day and that would be I think I'd be quite rewarding when I say feeding people I don't mean just taking a sandwich and just stuffing it in someone's mouth I'd you know hand out food cooked food and that or help out someone that's already doing it you know just buy twice as much just pay to get twice as much of the food
or I don't know something like that so I think that would be a useful use of my time plus once that's done I guess I just sit on the beach and just chill out although the feedings never finished because there's just it's just continuous I suppose that's the thing though isn't it because you get hungry you eat and then you're hungry again in a few hours it's just standard isn't it just how the body works so I'm not quite sure that would appeal to me maybe go go on a cruise I can't just do that
now though can I can't just at midnight say oh I'll go on a cruise now no don't work like that I must plan I'll tell you what I would quite fancy to do you know in America you have the Greyhound buses I don't know if they're still still in operation but just to get on a Greyhound bus and just travel across America that interests me of course I can't do that at this time of night because I don't live in America do I yeah my other friend I used to go around is Neil now his
mum was a bit like him so he was quite okay I want to be tactful here because I like I liked his mum and dad and she was more his dad was quiet I'm not saying she wasn't quiet but he was very quite quiet and she was a bit more energetic verbally if that makes sense and she's very funny she's lovely very lovely they were both lovely actually and they helped me out when I moved into my flat when I was 17 I had a flat above the chip shop and they gave me some stuff
I think like a kettle and some cutlery plates that kind of stuff so that was really nice of them they helped me out on that and because see Neil he was one of the only people that I stayed friends with when I left school like Dean my best friend we kind of fell apart a little bit in the last year of school I think he I think it's good we got into a fight and I don't I don't think our friendship maybe recovered after that and it's a shame because you know I loved him I
guess I don't know you know I mean in a in a please don't touch me way I do you know I was best friends with him from junior school all the way through for sort of six seven years we were best friends and then and he was he'd come from living in a kid's home as well same as I had so I guess we had that in common we understood what it was like to go through that some of that stuff you know and we're just really good friends when I met him it was actually
in a place and then he closed and yeah so anyway he was I realized I shouldn't be telling you about other people but yeah he was he was I was best friends of him he was we were good good friends for a long long time I spent a lot of time together we we used to ride about on our bikes and one of the things we used to do was go down to the arcade so there was three arcades in the town because I lived in a place where there was a beach so down the
seafront there was the pier so there was an arcade in the pier you know like slot machines computer machines driving games things like that and so there was that it was like old-fashioned stuff and the new the newer technology because that was all quite new sort of early early 80s and there'd be Tron that was one and your Space Invaders and then then it sort of got more more complex and yeah so I had that so we used to go in there there was another one which is opposite the pier which was I think it's
called the carousel and that was just like another one it was like another place where there was games and slot machines and places where you could put your two pence in or five pence in or ten pence in and it'd go down and you might be able to win some coins or slot machines you know the things that you could pull down the lever what they called one-armed bandits today so there was that and then if you walked all the way along the prom all the way around and a sail all the way around it
it's not that it wasn't a huge distance in reality but at the other end of the prom there was a place which was there was a theme park there was a theme park and now they closed it and they started having like a market there this is that that was put about 10 years 10 years yeah about 10 years ago I went there and the area is very small but when I was a little kid the area seemed huge it's weird isn't it how that works and it was a huge massive theme park to me
and we used to queue up for opening day from the age of seven probably every year to the age of probably 14 maybe 15 even and we queue up and we go there get in and go on the the rides there was these what was the rides there so there was there was a haunted house was that is a haunted house the one with the funny mirrors and the and the priest I don't know but there was there was a haunted house and then there is that might just be in the house of mirrors there
was a different one and it was a haunted ride because they used to be like seaweed or something used to spray over my face or whatever it was something and one use which maybe that's where the priest was but there was I think it was seaweed used to like dribble in me hair and that and it felt like seaweed and then there was a like another ride where you go around and you can make the there was almost like little spaceships and you sit in it and you can make it right go up and down
I don't know what the name of that thing is but you might have been on one of them and it used to go up and down and stuff and there was another one I'm pretty sure there was a big wheel like a big wheel thing but I never went on there because I don't I don't do such things there might have even been a roller coaster again I don't know that I don't do things like that but I went on this there was one where it used to spin around and you sit in a chair
which is very much like a little very similar to like a baby's chair you know like a high chair that babies sit in it was that kind of chair and then to be a chain two chains either side of you like a swing really like a baby swing and it would be attached to something at the top and then the whole thing would swing around and you'd be like right out and it'd be brilliant so I used to go on that as well and so that I used to love it absolutely love it next to
that on the right hand so if you come out turn left or you actually I think you could walk through or maybe not I don't know but it was a there's an arcade there as well and it had a lot of I guess a lot of similar kind of things I'm sure there was like a I don't know if it was a clown but there was a like a big man in a glass case laughing hysterically and never really kind of understood why he was there yeah and yeah there was there was there was quite
a few like racing games you know we could sit in the chair and pretend you're a racing car driver but that one was more I don't want to say old-fashioned you know in a derogatory way but it was old-fashioned and it was there was more older stuff and I quite like that actually there's a lot more slot machines and it was I think that one was more suited to younger children because they're like two pennies and penny you know so you could give them loads of change and actually haven't haven't given them much money at
all but it just seems like a lot because it's filling their hand for the change and they can have a wonderful time so I like that place and I think they if upstairs they had a snooker hall but I think that was later on in time that was more later teens they had a snooker hall upstairs and there's a chip shop there was a pizza place candy floss place and in the summer it's nice really nice and even in the evenings really because in 89 1989 I was actually living just up the road just round
the corner from that arcade now I think that the fairground had closed down at that point I'm not sure though might be wrong but I used to go there every night I was in the summer and would go there and it was really good I have a pizza just chill out go for a walk I had a friend that I was staying with and and I was doing the canvassing so that's when I was doing the double glazing canvassing knocking on people's doors annoying them until they gave me a telephone number and an appointment for
another annoying salesman to come around and try to annoy them into buying something oh yes I am proud of myself I can't enjoy I think 1989 part the summer just the summer was one of probably the best one of the best summers of my life so between pretty much just the time for okay probably there's a few dodgy moments but going to France traveling to France and then coming back and then getting the canvassing job when I was only working like three four hours in an evening or late afternoon evening and just being able to
do whatever I wanted and I had a girlfriend as well I had a really good time that was and then even after that then I moved out of there because blimey I lived in about in 1989 let me work it out how many places I lived in 1989 so no okay in 1989 I lived in one place moved out of there moved into my dad's place temporarily and I stayed there because I had a job working at his place I didn't know he worked there I just got a job working in this haulage place and
he was there doing a different different job to me so I moved in there and then I yeah I got did I leave that job or did I get sacked I can't remember I generally can't remember if I got sacked or I left I think I left and then I went back to the factory and then I moved no wait a minute this is 89 89 89 89 so I think what I did is I moved into my friend's mom's place it's my dad wanted me out because I think I annoyed him or something and
then I moved out of oh yeah I moved out of there to go to Spain yeah so I moved out of there to go to Spain and I was there for half a day and then I moved and I came back so I was homeless I didn't have anywhere to live she let me stay there for I don't know like one one one more night or two more nights and wanted me out and so I moved I stayed with a friend and then I found a place so the fifth place I lived just trying to
work this out I might have to I might have it wrong it's very very possible I think now then I moved into yeah I moved into my friend's place a fifth place and I was babysitting their kid while they went to work because I didn't have a job either then either so I left the job to move to Spain and then they decided to have a holiday and go away they didn't want to leave me in a flat so I had to go somewhere for two weeks or for a week or something so I said
oh I'll go to Dover because they were going to Dover anyway so I'll go to just drop me off at Dover I'll just go camping or something and on the way we picked up a hitchhiker and I ended up going to France with him there you go so I went to France came back from France thinking I had somewhere to live back at the place before and but that really wasn't working out anymore and I think the kid went to live with a father I don't know what happened I forget so I ended up moving
to a new place I stayed with a friend I stayed with a friend and I was staying with him more more more often I was sleeping over his and the people that I was staying with didn't seem very happy with that but I just didn't want to be around them because they were doing their own thing and I was a bit of a gooseberry really so I just didn't really want to be there anymore and I was sleeping on the floor and in you know in this in the living room so that wasn't good so
I was staying with a friend sleeping in the same room as him but on a different bed there was two beds in there and then I found a place yeah I found a place down the seafront because I managed to get yeah it was weird I was trying to figure it out the order all went in but yeah I moved there anyway and I got a job as a canvasser so seventh a seventh place I lived lived in in 89 and then I worked there lived there for a while and then I moved out of
there to the eighth place and I stayed with another friend so lived in his room there was two beds a different friend and then I moved to a different place of him because his place got burned down I think so I moved to a different place with him this time we had two different rooms had a living room in the bedroom and I slept in the bedroom he slept in the living room so that was a ninth place and then I moved to London and stayed somewhere temporarily so it's what 10th place and then my
11th place was I had a room that I rented so I think that's 11 different places I lived in 1989 at least 11 different places that I lived at for you know a degree of time yeah Wow no wonder I'm getting itchy feet I want to move on somewhere I want to I want to move if I want to I do wish I could just move this flat and just go somewhere new I don't even care where really just move somewhere go somewhere different somewhere with a beach somewhere where somewhere we at least have some
shops nearby that would be nice I need a loaf of bread I went this week the petrol station didn't have any bread all week so it's like luckily they had some a couple of days ago and I got some but all week I was like I need some bread last week they ran out of water and I was here I don't drink tap water so I was literally I had to take some tablets and I was waiting for my tea to cool down because I was drinking tea and coffee instead in order to you know
to take the tablets now that was a boring story wasn't it that was boring so yeah I'd part of that summer was pretty good actually 1989 I suppose it it didn't get good really until the best part I mean I enjoyed France I did I did enjoy coming back though so I think probably the the best part of 1989 was working as a canvasser because I was still a teenager I was I was very immature for my age so hard to believe that me being immature I know but I was very immature I was still
a kid I was I was I was I was a child when I was in 1989 but I just I think when I was doing canvassing I came out of my not closet that's not the right word I came out of my shell I think um I think sometimes like being around some of the people I've not been very fortunate with some of the people that I've met over the years and have maybe took advantage of me a little bit or maybe them I don't know or just they're not always being particularly nice people some
of them some of the people I've met and maybe I wasn't at the time I don't know I'm sure when I was a teenager I had some people try to take advantage of me they didn't get to do that but I just feel that they especially some of these yeah just yeah I'm not gonna go into details but it's just I think that stunted me a little bit at times stunted me from being able to have my own personality and sometimes if you're around like people that are acting very aggressive and wanting to be tough
and especially if they're older especially if you're a teenager and they're older men it's hard to kind of express your own personality when people if you're around people like that sometimes I was a bit and but then when I did the canvassing I was able to kind of be myself be freer be able to just um joke around knocking on people's doors and like say hello you know blah blah whatever double glazing and just have some fun with it and get paid quite well actually in a way it was I mean some weeks I was
getting paid a hundred and sixty pound back in then days I never earned 160 pounds in a week and I was only working for four hours a day sometimes three hours and I was paying probably 30 pound a week rent so I had this money I just I know it's not you know in today's standards it's not a lot of money but back then having you know I didn't always get 160 pounds sometimes I get 120 sometimes I'd get 140 150 you know so but it was still a hell of a lot more than I'd
ever really regularly earn and to get it weekly as well it's good so I always had cash always had cash didn't really have anything to spend it on other than just food eating out and just you know general stuff and it was cool I liked that but again I was just living in a little room and I mean during that summer I didn't watch any television how about that eh how about that didn't have a television in my bedroom there was a television in the living room that I could have watched and I think I
probably did watch a few like movies and dvd videos back then but I didn't have a television there was a record player in the room that I rented and there was I think I bought a couple of albums or there might have been some albums there that I was listening to one was Lufa Vandross that I used to really enjoy listening to is it Lufa Vandross yeah Lufa Luthar I can't remember the other album that I listened to as well it was two that I used to like listening to and I just lay on my
bed and just relax relax yeah yeah it was cool oh it's really weird when I first went there because I knew the people that I knew everyone that lived there because they were all customers in the pub that I used to work at so the landlord and his wife or the landlady and his husband you know they're both they used to come in the pub and then the other two men that lived there worked for this man or worked with him I don't know if they worked for him or worked with him as like builders
and stuff they was in the pub all the time and they lived there so I knew them and they had I think two kids and then it was me so that was all the rooms full so it's quite a few of us so I went round the first time because I think I was just talking to I don't know I think he was the landlord I think it was him I just said to him and I saw him in the street and I said he said how you doing I said oh I'm homeless yeah because
I had nowhere to live I was staying with someone with a friend and he said well I've got a room I said really he said yeah so I went round and it's really weird his his wife was oh you're right yeah yeah could seem to like me I was they used to wind me up in the pub but outside of the pub they were friendly to me but he's that one of the little girls said oh that's the man that was talking to us in the park on the swings I said what and apparently like
the day before some weird man had started talking to the two girls and I'm just standing there almost like these lights just suddenly shining on me everyone's staring at me there was like four men staring at me and what and the the wife and little girl started laughing I'm not really like hilarious this is like a five-year-old girl like she found it hilarious that she just nearly got me lynched like oh man really I'll know they had another daughter as well the she was a couple years younger than me she was lovely I liked her
um and I dated her friend for for a little while but yeah hey now if you've heard all that stories before I don't apologize I never apologize never apologize but if you had heard all of those stories before not that they're really stories but uh what do you expect 700 recordings I have to repeat myself and I blimey I mean I'm only 50 I'd have to be like 900 years old to be able to tell new stories after 700 episodes no one of my age could have 700 hours to fill that you just wouldn't have
it like there's not enough happened you'd have to be like have a really exciting life and I really haven't nothing interesting has happened in my life since 2001 oh dear anyway I'm gonna go thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy do something nice for yourself today lots of love and I'll speak to you tomorrow bye for now bye-bye
