Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name, my name is Jason Newland. This is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can faithfully close your eyes.

Yeah, it's Tuesday the 7th of September. I've got a little weird, I've got a little weird speech thing going on today for some reason. I don't know why.

Yes, all things are as they are. They're as they are. And today there's still two hours left of the day until the pod, you know, the stats are all done and so.

So far, I've got just over 10,000 downloads for the day, which is good. So it's, this is been, I think, I don't know. I think this has been Jason one.

Wow. That's interesting. So what month? So I'm just looking at something.

Sorry about this. I'm just getting all excited. April.

May. April. May.

That's weird. March. March.

Sorry, I'm talking to myself here. But I don't know. That's strange.

200,000. I suppose 900. Okay.

Right. Since the 12th of April this year, until today, I've had 1,006,048 downloads since April the 12th. The reason I'm saying April 12th is because the overall statistics changed on that day.

They changed the system, which meant all previous overall stats, which is set to zero, which is really annoying, actually, because I'd quite like to look at three or 4 million or whatever it is I've accrued over the years. But no, it only goes up to 1,000,000. It goes from the 12th of April till April, May, June, July, August.

So five months. 1,006,000. Blimey.

Anyway, that wasn't what I was trying to talk about. Yeah, that makes sense. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

Yeah, fair enough. And I forget what I was gonna do. I was gonna do something then, but I forget what it is.

Oh, yeah, I think, I think 60, the last seven days. Yeah, I think the last seven days have been one of the, yeah, it's been quite good days. Quite, yeah, plus boring.

I even bored myself then. I can't even be bothered to talk about statistics. I got distracted.

I do apologize. I got distracted by something that I didn't realize was there. It does annoy me, though, because I can add it up by going to each individual podcast and seeing the overall stats for each podcast since three years ago, or whenever I started them.

But the overall statistics for all of the podcasts all together, I'd like to see it all in one place, but it ain't. It bloody ain't. That's annoying.

It's very, very annoying. I could add it up now, should I? No. I might do, though.

No, we don't want you to. I think I might have done before. I mean, one, two, three, one, two, three million, four, at least four million all together, at least four.

And it's, I guess this year's bigger than last. Well, I don't know if it is, to be fair. But I imagine at the end of this year, it'll be, I'll add more downloads than I did last year overall.

Yes, I reckon. Because based on that five months, so it's over two million a year, maybe two and a half. Getting on to the three million.

Getting on to the 10 million. A million a million. A million, a million, a million, a million, a million, a million, yes.

So today, what I did is I continued with the transcriptions, adding them. So I've added all of the Deep Sleep Whisperer. Well, not all of them, 49.

So the first 49 episodes of the Deep Sleep Whisperer podcast have now got transcriptions on them on there and on the website. I did pictures, images and added all the latest, I say latest, what was they? Let me show you. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I had 7 recordings that I had not uploaded onto my website or shared on Facebook or had images for.

So I did images for them earlier today. It took ages and ages and ages and shared them and then on Facebook and Twitter and then made pages on my website and then embedded the players into each page and then downloaded or uploaded the recording onto the website so people can download them directly if wanting to do that for free. Everything's free and very time-consuming, yes.

But I did manage again to do another Deep Sleep Whisperer about an hour ago so that was good. So I'm trying to stick to this routine I've got. I'm trying to build a routine.

I know that there's other recordings I could be doing so I'm just sticking to the Let Me Boy To Sleep every evening at about 11 o'clock ish. I aim to do the Deep Sleep Whisperer about 9 o'clock. I was a little bit later today.

So I'm aiming, you know, to do that and then do the Let Me Boy To Sleep at 11. A little bit late for this as well, half an hour late. Less than half an hour late actually, probably about 20 minutes late.

And then once I've done this for a few days, gauged the results, gauged kind of where I am and what I need to do to get where I need to be, blah blah blah blah. The next thing I'm gonna be, I'm gonna start doing the Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily podcast. Do one of those every day.

That might be perhaps during the day rather than in the evening. Unless, maybe do that at 8 o'clock in the evening. I don't know, 7 o'clock.

But I do need to give myself space between each one and then in the morning make the images and share the episodes of the night before and make pages on my website when I, you know, in the morning. So that's kind of the plan. So I'll just continue to do two a day, two recordings a day for maybe the rest of the week because it's Tuesday now.

And then perhaps Friday I'll perhaps, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps start increasing. So I'll do the third recording which is the Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily. Which should be, it should be done daily.

Clearly because of the title. But I just haven't been up to date. I'm getting there.

I'm working on it. I really am. I'm trying to get some kind of a routine going so that I can, I suppose, be consistent.

Consistency seems to be the, one of the most important parts of being a creator, an online creator. Whether it's podcast or videos, YouTube, is consistency, regularity, keeping, keeping, keeping on, keeping, keeping doing stuff. Which is what I'm doing.

But I'm gradually, I'm just going to increase gradually because I want to see, I want to get more of an idea of which podcasts are, I don't know, not the most successful. That's probably the wrong word. But, you know, which ones work and when the best time of the day is it to release it and stuff like that.

So far, it's, it's going, the last few days has gone quite well. And I've only, well, to be fair, I've only done the Deep Sleep Whisperer yesterday. Today is the second time, second day in a row that I've done that for a while.

But I'm going to continue to do them every day. Because the end result is, it's not just that, like so far I've had 10,000 downloads, 10,118 or something. Still a couple of hours left, so that might go up to 12,000 before I go to bed.

Before, well I might not go to bed, but before, you know, the end of the day. Which is 1.30 in the morning here. Because it's an American, I don't know, for whatever reason that's when they have their cut off at 1.30 in the morning here in the UK.

And what happens is there's no more stats after that until the morning. And there's usually a few that goes on to the next day, maybe 700 or whatever, a few. And then it sort of stays completely static, no movement until maybe about seven o'clock, six or seven in the morning.

And then it will show maybe 1,500 downloads. But that's only from the previous hours, like it's not the whole period. And then by about nine o'clock, eight, maybe eight o'clock, between eight and nine in the morning, the actual updated stats come in.

Which is what happened this morning. And there is, I think there was 5,000 downloads that I'd had already by, I think it's by about half eight in the morning. Which is really good for me.

It's like really blimey, pretty, pretty good. So yeah, I just, I mean, I guess it would make sense to make recordings during the day as well. So some of the other recordings, maybe release one in the afternoon instead of just in the evening.

So that there's something new to listen to during the day. I don't know. What I'm saying makes kind of sense to me, but at the same time I'm very aware that it's very, very boring.

But not to me. This is kind of, this is my life, so it's not boring to me. Sometimes it's a little bit boring, but it's kind of exciting to go from nothing to, I don't know, just to go to bed and wake up whatever time and come and look at the stats.

And you know, I've had, you know, to wake up and just to see 5,000 downloads before I've even really started the day. And this, it's great. It's a really, and it's growing.

I mean, imagine 10,000 start on the day. Mind you, I could get up at 11 in the evening and have that, so maybe I just need to get up later. But I'm really pleased with it.

So as I said, I'm just, it's kind of an experiment. All the podcast episodes that I'm going to be making have their own audience, but there's a crossover as well. Like the Deep Sleep Whisper Hypnosis podcast, there's a lot of people that don't like whisper recordings, but there's a lot of people that really do.

It seems to be one of those things that you either love or you hate, which is fair enough, I guess. You know, I've had people actually say, I don't like those whisper recordings. And other people contact me and say, I love them.

I love them. Oh, I love the whisper. So yeah, everyone's got their own preference.

And then there's the, obviously there's these ones to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Of course, everybody loves these. Some people, you know, everyone's got their, people have what they like.

And I hopefully, when I'm on all cylinders, which isn't that often, but I'm trying to get to that point where I'm really doing all of the stuff that I can do. Do a Let Me Bore You To Sleep every evening, do a deep sleep whisper every day, do a relax and sleep hypnosis every day, do a boring objects recording every day. Again, that's something I could probably can do during the day.

I need to do that when I'm not tired, because I do fall asleep otherwise, because it's so boring. And I forget why the relax or stress and pain relief podcast is that one. And then there's the bedtime story time.

So that's six different podcasts, which I need to make recordings for. And admittedly, admittedly, two of those podcasts. Well, it's three of those recordings.

One doesn't even have its own podcast yet, which I need to make the boring objects. The bedtime story time podcast doesn't have much of an audience on its own podcast, but people do listen to them on other podcasts. So it is listen to those recordings.

And the stress and pain relief podcast hasn't got a huge audience. But people do listen to them on the other podcasts. So I hope does that make sense? I don't know.

It makes sense to me. Yeah. I mean, to be fair, why go to lots of different other podcasts if you've got everything in one place.

And with the relaxation, relax, relaxation, hypnosis for stress, anxiety, and that podcast has all of my relaxation and stress relief podcasts on there. So everything's kind of in one place, which I guess is why that's the the podcast of choice for a lot of people when it comes to my stuff. Yeah.

I went to the garage, I went to the petrol station to get some cornflakes. And one of my neighbors who I talked to, she's, she said, I'll walk there with you. And she first I said, Can you get me a bottle of beer? I said, Have you given the money for it? And she was looking for a purse, she couldn't find any money.

So she decided she's going to pay for it on a card. Well, she's banned from the garage for whatever reason. I went in there.

And the lady who works there started yelling. I'm talking really, you know, you're not supposed to be there. You know, you're being banned.

I mean, that's, it's that kind of noise, but it was a lot loud. It was really loud. And one part of me felt the need to defend her.

Isn't it weird? It was just, I think if it had been a man doing it, you know, I probably, I think I would have perhaps kind of told him to calm it down. Because it was a woman shouting, I felt I just couldn't, I just, there was no winning in it. There was no, there's no way, there's no way for me to go with that.

Plus this woman, this, this lady that I was with, well, I wasn't with her, we just happened to be neighbours and she was walking to the garage at the same time as me. And she, she's quite capable of defending herself, so she didn't need me. But I think if one of the men had started yelling at her, I possibly would have, like, told him to lower his voice and to calm down.

Because, I don't know, that just, I mean, it's wrong. I think the way that the lady spoke to her was just really wrong. Like, yelling at her.

I can't, I've never, I don't think I've done, if I've ever been yelled at like that. Well, I have been, but not, I mean, outside of a relationship or church. I don't know, like, yeah, I don't think I've ever had anyone really kind of yell at me.

And I don't know how I would react. I mean, I was a little bit in shock, if I'm honest. I was shook up a little bit.

I was all shook up, ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah. I was, but at the same time, I found it quite funny. Because this lady that was shouting, she's usually so quiet.

And she's not, I say little old lady, she's probably not that much older than me, really. She's probably, like, ten years older than me. But she's, she's usually sitting on the other side of the counter and she's just fairly quiet, hello, and she just says hello, and she's friendly.

She didn't used to like me for the first five years. And then for some reason, she started being friendly to me. So I was okay.

She's never horrible to me. She just wasn't, just didn't, didn't sort of have time for me. And so I really value my relationship with her.

But it's a weird garage, but it's really weird. The petrol station's weird, very strange. And this couldn't have been worse, really.

Why not? So I'm in there, and on the way in, there's this really gorgeous woman. Well, someone I just, I couldn't help but look at. I was sort of naturally attracted without really knowing why.

I don't know why, but, you know, just there was something there. And then she came into the petrol station, and then she ended, she went behind the counter. I thought, you know, maybe they were, maybe she was robbing them.

Yeah, a very attractive robber. And she, she was still there when I went to pay for my stuff. At this point, my neighbor was out the front, out of the garage, just looking through the window.

So I started mocking her, poking my finger at her, telling her off through the window. I thought it was funny. And so the lady behind the counter, the one that was shouting, she apologized to me.

She said, I'm so, I'm so sorry, but she knows she's not allowed in here. She knows she's not allowed. She's a very naughty girl.

And, okay. I said, well, she's a neighbor. I don't know anything about all this stuff.

I've never been in the garage with her before. I don't know what, you know, had some problems in the past. And, but this lady, this beautiful brunette, something about her, I don't know what it is.

Well, there's a few things, but she was just standing there looking at me. And I said, oh, you, uh, I went to talk to her, my mouth got dry. So I went, I was going to say, hey, baby, uh, you work, are you new here? What's your name then? Hmm.

That's, that's how my voice was supposed to be. And I'm like, hello. Are you new here? My voice got a lot really bad.

And, uh, she said, yeah, just started working. She had a lovely voice, lovely eyes, lovely hair. Um, I don't know.

I mean, she just seen me come in with the local, well, I don't know what's going on, but it, by association, I don't imagine. I came across as very well, very, the kind of person that anyone would want to date. I mean, I wasn't dressed.

Well, I was dressed. I wasn't naked. I was dressed.

I wasn't dressed. I leave too many gaps to my house. It's like you weren't dressed.

No, I wasn't dressed. Yeah, I was, but I wasn't dressed like smartly. She said tracksuit bottoms of tracksuit top, which is kind of my general get up these days.

I get up for the ghetto, but it was something there. I think I looked at her. I don't know.

I might be wrong, but I don't know. Maybe I've seen that before. Maybe, but generally what will happen as soon as I leave, as soon as I left the garage or the petrol station, whatever you want to call it, I'm pretty sure they had a good old gossip.

And then, you know, by association, they see me in there with different people, just, they're just neighbors. I don't care what neighbors and neighbors. And I think, you know, it's a good idea to sort of stay friendly with neighbors.

Just generally, I just, it makes life easier. And I get on with most people. I'm not in their lives, but I say hello to them.

If these are people that live in the same building or on the little estate that I live on, council estate. So they live here. They live over the side.

There's another big building, not a big building, but it's a building. The other side of the fence. I know a few people that live there.

Just a few, not many. So I say hello to them. How you doing? All right, yeah, yeah, you good, good.

And that's it, you know, just say hello. Sometimes if they're walking to the petrol station, I walk to the petrol station with them. And you know, if I'm going there as well.

And it's just, just friendliness. It's a bit of friendliness. And I don't get to speak to many people, really.

So it's, I guess it's an opportunity just to have a little chit chat. Little, little chit chat. Although I do do quite a bit of talking when I'm here on my own.

But this is my career, baby. This is my career. There's no pleasure in it for me.

It's a career. I'm dedicated. Dedicated.

So anyway, yeah, I don't know what that was. So that was weird. So perhaps the love of my life has been tainted because of the company I keep.

But really, the company, it's not the company I keep because I don't, it's not people that I see that often. I just say hello when I see them and I won't be going to the petrol station with her again. That's for sure.

But you know, if I think, if I didn't know, you know, if I was just lucky, if I'd never been in that petrol station again before, and I went in with her, she's a neighbour, I just met her, she seems nice. Going to the petrol station with her and a member of staff starts shouting at her like that. Blimey, what am I to do? That'd just be, you know, I didn't expect it.

I didn't, I didn't expect this to happen. I was very surprised. But at the same time, I don't know, I found it a bit funny.

I know I said that, but just there was something almost surreal about the situation. This is a lady, probably in her 60s, shouting at a woman in her 40s. So these are both adults, fully grown adults.

A middle, two middle aged women, basically, one moving towards elder, older age, and one moving, well, also moving towards older age as well, I guess. But you know, there's not a lot of difference between maybe, there may be like 17 years, 18 years, maybe 20 years difference, but not a lot. Don't mean much when you're 45 or 50, 20 years.

And she's probably in her early 60s, I'd say. I don't think she might even be a late 50s. She might be younger than me.

Who knows? There was something weird to see that kind of shouting, and no violence occurred. Because that being a man, talking to another man like that, and it wasn't talking, it was shouting in front of, there was a couple of people in the garage in the petrol station at the same time as well. The chances of that not escalating to something quite horrible is practically non-existent.

I don't think it'd be possible. That would've, something would've happened. If I went in there, and one of the staff members started shouting at me, get out, you, I don't know what I would do.

I don't know. I mean, that'd be, that'd be horrible. I mean, I guess now I'm thinking what it was like for her.

I think, although I kind of laughed at her, you know, I didn't make fun of her or anything afterwards, I just sort of, I suppose I laughed at her a little bit. It must have been very embarrassing for her. And you know what? She didn't deserve that.

She didn't deserve, regardless of what she's done, she didn't deserve to be talked to or shouted at like that. Like a, like a little school girl. Personally, I don't think little school girls deserve to be shouted at, or little school boys, children, shouting at children.

You're basically treating them like dogs. So I don't, it's not really my thing. I grew up being shouted at, didn't like it, didn't appreciate it.

And it didn't, it didn't really help me, if I'm honest. No, I don't think so. I don't think it did.

I think the only thing that I really gained from, I suppose from that kind of stuff in childhood is to know that I didn't like it. And to know not to do it to anyone else. So not to, not to do that to my own children.

I'm not going to have any children now, am I? But if I was, if I'd have had children, I wouldn't shout at them. And I mean, I told Andre off a couple of times. I did shout at him a couple of times, I'll be honest, but only very rarely.

I even gave him a smack on the bum once, because he was being so naughty. He kept scratching at the front door. This is like early hours in the morning, kept scratching.

It's funny, I wish he was here doing it now, but he kept scratching at the front door. And it echoes all through the hallways. And I didn't want to disturb the neighbors.

And I kept going and getting him and pulling him in. I couldn't close the front, the living room door because he kept scratching that. And he just kept doing it over and over and over and over again.

I'm talking 20, 30 times, he kept going back. And in the end, I lost it and I gave him a smack. It wasn't hard.

And I didn't shout at him because it was obviously late at night. I didn't want to wake the noise, the neighbors up, the noisy neighbors. But I felt so bad afterwards.

I was crying. Don't tell anyone. But I started crying.

I was like, almost begging him for his forgiveness. He didn't give a shit. He didn't feel it.

He didn't care. Because if he'd have felt it, he'd have let me know. And he probably would have bit me.

Which is right. If you hurt an animal, they should bite you. If you do it on purpose, that is.

So, you know, if someone kicks a dog, they deserve to have the dog rip their leg off. That's how I see it. That's just the way it should be.

And a lot of dogs can really hurt their owners and they don't because dogs are like, just pretty much let you do anything to them and they'll still come back for more. And that's wrong. I've got a friend who said, that's how a dog should be.

I said, no, if you hit a dog, a dog should just, as far as I'm concerned, they should just bite you. And the worse you hit them, the worse you treat them, the worse they should bite you. Especially if they can.

Especially if they're physically able to. You know, I'm not talking about a little, a little dog that can maybe give you, give you a little bite, but that's about it. I'm talking about strong, a strong dog.

They'll still cower and put up with that kind of behavior, treatment. No, they shouldn't. So, he did, he did snap at me a couple of times.

Once I was trying to get him to do something, he didn't want to do it and he bit me. Not hard, but it was like a real warning, like keep away. I don't know what it was.

I think maybe I was trying to give him a bath or something. And it didn't work because I carried on doing what I was going to do. Because when he bit me, I picked him up and I looked at him, I said, I told him off.

I didn't slap him or anything. I only really gave him a, I slapped his bum, I think twice the whole time I had him. But only once where I really like, oh, this is just silly.

What did I do that for? Because, you know, he's so little. I'm like a giant compared to him. So, I felt bad.

I did. But he bit me and I did, I lifted him up and I said, I looked at him, you never bite me. And I wouldn't let him go until he like, licked my nose.

I said to him, you give me kisses when you told me, if you understand, give me kisses. And he was like, get off me, get off me, get off me. And I just stared at him in his eyes and eventually he licked the end of my nose.

And I let him go. He didn't do it again. So, I just, he weren't a biter anyway, but sometimes he'd just get grumpy.

He'd love waking, he'd love waking me up. Yeah. He'd love waking me up.

But, he hated me waking him up. He couldn't, had no perception of other people. A bit like me, really.

Just, you know, when I was awake and he was awake, he wanted me to be awake as well. So that he could either play with me or, he just wanted me to be awake. It's almost like he just wanted me to be there.

Because when I was asleep, I wasn't really there. Sometimes I thought he was trying to wake me up just to see whether or not I was dead or not, so he could start eating me. Oh, now I've got those feet and I start eating his toes.

He did try to eat my toes a few times when I was asleep. He used to lick my eyes. My eyelids.

And lick my ears. And nibble on my ears. Almost like he was pruning me or whatever they call it.

You know how monkeys do that. Sort of getting rid of the nits and the lice. Which I hopefully don't have nits or lice.

But it was quite nice that he did that and he'd stick his nose right in my ear. It's like a wet nose. Stop it.

But then he'd be licking my ear and then he'd lick my lips, which is a bit weird. I'd be asleep and he'd be doing this. I don't know how much of it was to wake me up.

Or just because he liked doing it. I don't know. Sometimes he'd bite my eye, but really gently.

Not the actual eye, but just the cheekbone around my eye. Or the eye socket kind of bone. Just that sort of flesh there.

And he'd nibble on it. On my eyebrow. It was weird.

Very strange little dog you are. And then sometimes I'd wake up and I'd grab him and he'd scream like really high pitched because he didn't realise I was awake. And I made him jump and I'd grab him and he'd start fighting me and we'd have a big punch up.

Sometimes I'd be half asleep and we would literally have quite a rough fight and he'd be biting me because that's what he does. In those situations it was fine because I gave him permission to do that. And he gave me permission to be rough with him.

He liked it really rough sometimes. So I'd nip him. I couldn't bite him, but I'd nip him instead of biting him.

As he'd bite me more I'd nip him right around his neck and places that wouldn't hurt him. Because you can pick a ferret up by the back of the neck. They don't like it, but it doesn't hurt them.

It's uncomfortable though. Because what they start doing is yawning, which is a sign of surrender. See, you might not have known that.

It might be the same with other animals, I don't know. But a ferret will yawn. Like that.

And it's their way of saying, OK, you win. But he was very manipulative with that because sometimes I'd grab him by the neck, but I'd be pulling him along on the bed. And he'd yawn to say I surrender.

I'd let go. And straight away he goes and bites me. This is trickery.

He was a tricker. Very, very naughty little boy he was. But we had a lot of fun and I'd like to do that.

We'd play with each other and then I'd go back to sleep. And I'd wake up and my hand was just covered in scratches where he'd bitten me and scratched me and like, blimey, my arms and that. But we had a really good time sometimes.

He loved a nice punch up. Honestly, he just got really, just, with a duvet, I'd be on the floor, kneeling on the floor and he'd be the other side of the bed. And he'd basically try and crawl under the duvet and attack me.

So he'd go different directions so that he could attack me from, so that I couldn't see him coming. He's just so devious. I've talked about this before, one of the other things he loved to do is, and this is something that only the last couple of years, he used to like me to chase him into the kitchen because he had a hiding place.

There's two places he could hide. He could hide behind the cooker, actually he could hide behind the fridge as well and behind the other freezer. So he had these three different places he could hide.

And then I'd like wait and he wouldn't come out so I would, I couldn't get to him. So then I'd leave and I'd either go in the living room, the bedroom or go and hide near the front door or in the bathroom even. And he didn't know where I was because, you know, he couldn't see.

He came out and I used to try and get into a position where I could watch him and he'd come out and his little head, his little head would be looking around for me, trying to figure out where I was. Probably trying to sniff me out. But he'd look into the living room.

He pretty much always found me quite quickly. So he'd look in the living room, then walk. Or he'd look in the bathroom.

And then if I was in the bedroom, he'd suddenly pounce on me. And then literally just as I took a step forward, he'd start running. Sometimes he'd make a squeak, like a really high-pitched sound because he was excited.

And he'd run off and I'd sort of chase him and he'd run into the kitchen again. He just loved doing that. One of his favourite little games to play is me chasing him.

But I couldn't let him win all the time, so I had to catch him sometimes. Otherwise... It always got boring for me if I didn't catch him. Sometimes.

It's not a fair game, is it? So I had to catch him and chuck him out the window and stuff. I'd catch him and I'd pin him to the floor and I'd tickle him. Give him a big old tickle.

Tickle his tummy and under his arms and stuff. He'd bite my fingers, but he wouldn't bite them really. He'd just hold onto them.

Then I'd give him big kisses and then I'd say, OK. And as soon as I let go, he'd run into the kitchen again and hide behind the cooker. Hmm.

Sometimes I do think, you know, I lay in bed and I just... Just think about him. It's weird. The... I think... One of the, maybe the benefits I had with him is he wasn't in a cage.

For, blimey, at least two years, the last two years, maybe the last three years. It's hard to keep track of time. But at least for the last two years, he wasn't in a cage, ever.

Like day or night. Before that, he was in a cage when I was in bed and then he'd come out. You know, as soon as I woke up, I'd open the cage.

He would get him out or just leave it open for him to come and go as he wanted. And... So he had all, he had like, I don't know, 16 hours a day out of the cage. And then the last couple of years, he had 24 hours a day to do exactly what he wanted, when he wanted.

And I'm glad I did that. I mean, yeah, he used to disturb me and wake me up and I could never, I had to have socks on every time I was in bed. Because he used to always bite my feet otherwise.

But I'm glad, I think, yeah, I'm pretty glad I gave him that lifestyle. Instead of being stuck in a, in a... Yeah, he could have been stuck in a cage all the time. For his whole life, apart from, you know, maybe an hour a day when he got to come out and play.

He could have had that kind of lifestyle, which I'm sure is fine for whoever lives like that. But I didn't want that for him. I wanted him to be free to do whatever he wanted to do, except leave the house.

Because I know that, you know, I have to keep him safe, so I have to keep him indoors. But he loved, you know, he was, I'd say he was happy here. I think he got a bit frustrated at times when he wanted to go out and he could smell... Whatever he was smelling at certain times of the year, he just wanted to be outside.

And, but I did take him out for long walks in the summer or in the nice weather. He'd sometimes get out three times a day. Usually cooler periods of the day, but, you know, this time of year, September, he'd love it because it was cooler, but still bright, still nice days.

Although I think it's been quite hot the last couple of days. I've been stuck inside working on the website and stuff, so I've not really been out in it. But I know it's been sunny and a blue sky.

Yum, yum, yum, yum. Oh, dear, oh, dear. So, yeah, I'm just... I'm just thinking about you.

Wondering where you are. Did you know? Did you know? Ba-da-ba-bum-ba-bum-ba-ba. I don't know what that was.

Oh. That's weird. So... In the last, during the period that I've been talking, the stats today have gone up by nearly 1,000.

Wow. That's alright, isn't it? Nearly 1,000. So that's just under 11,000 downloads so far.

So, yeah, wow. I sometimes wonder, it's like it's an energy thing. You know? You get what you focus on.

You get more of what you focus on. And I know you've got to do something as well. I mean, I couldn't just sit here and have made three recordings three years ago and not done anything since and just sat here hoping to get people listening.

You know, I don't, I wouldn't be where I am now. But... Giving attention, giving attention to something and I guess once you give attention to it, you do what you need to do to get the results and to hopefully help and reach more people. More, more, more, more people.

Yes. And I know, I realise it's probably super boring to hear me talk about it and I don't talk about it in any other podcasts or any of my other stuff I do. Only in this one.

Only this one. But... It's really important to me. It's... the most important thing that I've got now.

So, you know, the... It's not just about the stats but the statistics lets me know who's, well, who's listening but where people are listening and if it's growing in different places and which podcast provider, you know, such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music or Google Podcasts or Stitcher or Castbox or Luminary or Spreaker or... Podomatic. Podomatic's not on there, is it? You know, the various different places. The people that listen to the podcast.

It's... I think it's useful. It's useful to be able to keep a track of it. To, you know, not to, I mean, yeah, I think so.

To show an interest. I mean, you know, I sometimes think I'm not going to look at the stats at all. I'm just going to, at the end of the week or at the end of the month, I'm just going to check.

Check, check. I'm just going to have a look at the end of the month. So, you know, end of September.

September the 31st or 28th or 30th or whatever it is. I'll just check and I'll see how many I've had. No, no way in the world that's going to happen because not only am I going to check daily, I check loads of times a day.

Because this is my life. So, I suppose in the same way as if I was a, if I was a shopkeeper, I would be continually checking the stock. Continuously checking what's been sold.

The money that's come in. Being checking what needs to be ordered for, you know, what we're getting short of. That continuously needs to be monitored.

It's not something you do once a week. It has to be done pretty much continuously. And if you're there all the time, you can almost do it in the moment.

Oh, we've got 14 packs of toilet paper left. If it goes down, if we sell another three, then I'll have to order an extra 10 next week on Friday. So, as you're selling them, you'll notice you've sold two.

So, you clock it in your head, you know, as an example. I don't know, I'm not a shopkeeper, but I have worked in retail. And I remember, yeah, I remember noticing, because I used to work in a gift shop and I used to stock the shelves, unpack the stuff, as well as take money on the counter.

A bit of everything, really. And stock taking and cashing up at the end of the day. I did a bit of everything, pretty much, that was there.

And it's hard not to notice things, you know. So, well, we sold that. You could get to the point where someone says, have you got any others? I want to get two.

And you can say, no, sorry, that's the last one. Because you get to know, you know, what's in the stockroom and what's there. And then you can say, well, we've ordered some, so they should come on Tuesday next week.

But we do have a different one, but that's got a picture of a clown. And I may say, no, but it's a wedding dress. I don't want a clown on my wedding dress.

And they say, well, why are you buying your wedding dress from a gift shop then? Conversations get really weird. And then she pulls out a bunch of sausages and starts hitting me with them. And I was like, get off.

So, yeah, I'm not sure what my point was. There was a point there somewhere. I don't know what it was.

I don't know. I don't know. It might have been something.

Hmm. Oh, I mentioned the other day there was a bleeping sound. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, like that all through the weekend.

And also, you know, it's Tuesday now. So I guess maybe a bit yesterday as well. And this is when I got talking to my neighbor because she asked me about it.

It was two neighbors out the front, both talking about it. Because there was one with a torch. She was just standing in the road.

I don't know. I've never seen her before. And she was looking at me.

I said, are you all right? Just making sure she was all right. Because she was standing in the middle of the road with a torch. I said, I thought you were looking for something.

And then another voice. Is that Jason? I was like, oh, OK. Because it was the neighbor that I do know.

And apparently, the first thing she said. Gosh, you're a question. I said, what's that? Have you been hearing a twitting noise? Like, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.

I said, yeah. She said, it's coming from your flat. I said, no, it's not.

I said, it's not. Trust me, I've looked for it. I know the noise, and I'll be looking for it.

She said, it's coming from your bin room. My bin room? And then I realized what she meant. She said, I said, no, it's not coming from my bin room.

Because I've been looking, and it's, trust me, it's not any, it's not my building at all. And she said, oh, no, I mean the other bin room. So it's basically, there's two bin rooms, one for each building in there, not far apart.

And I said, well, she said, what do you think it is then? I said, well, to me, it sounds like an alarm. You know, like an alarm that just keeps going off, that you get on like a really cheap alarm clock, like a travel clock, you know. I don't know if they still make them, but that's what it sounded like, an alarm, or something like, I suppose, an egg timer, maybe.

So my guess is, if it's in the bin room, someone's chucked it out, and then maybe someone's chucked something on top of it, and it's set off the alarm. But no one in that building seems to be bothered by it. But on the other side, we're a fair distance away, and we can hear it, yet the people in that building don't seem to have noticed.

But what I noticed is, it's stopped. I went out in the garden Saturday, went out, looked, and I couldn't place where it was. It sounded like it was in that building.

And I walked away, and it stopped. Completely stopped. So I thought maybe, another sound, it could be maybe a washing machine ending, or a microwave ending, you know, it's that do-do-do-do-do-do-do, like that.

But they don't generally keep going on and on and on and on, do they? For hours and days at a time. So, if it is in that black, apparently one of the neighbours has called the police over it. Which, I'm not sure what that's about.

I'm not really 100% sure if a police would come out because of a bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, like that. But, it would be interesting to hear the results of that one. But I said, well don't worry about it, because the bin people come tomorrow morning, and they will take those bags away.

So if the alarm is in the bag, one of the black bags, they will be removed at whatever time in the morning, and that will be it. So you won't hear it anymore. She said, oh, do you like some prawns? I said, what? Do you want some prawns, some prawn balls? So she just got a Chinese takeaway, delivered, and she had some prawn balls.

Now, I'd never had prawn balls before. I didn't know they had balls. So I had it, and it was nice, until I got to the prawn.

I didn't like it. I forgot I didn't like prawns. So, I kind of, I chucked it, I was going to chuck it in the school, chuck it at the school, because you'd do any bit of spare food, I'd try and chuck it against the wall at the school.

And, I'm joking. But I put it in the drain, I thought I'd let that just drain away, because it wasn't a lot, I had some of it, but I didn't know what else to do with it. So, I don't normally chuck food on the floor, but on this occasion, I thought, well, that'll just flood, that'll just flow away, I don't know, I've got no excuse for my sloppiness.

But anyway, she got angry. That cost me £6 for those prawns, and she'd given me half of them. So she'd been very generous, she gave me half, she split the bag and she gave me.

And I said, well, I don't know why she was giving me half of them. She picked it up, and put it in her mouth. She picked it out of the drain, it wasn't a drain, but it was in the gutter.

Sounds worse. She picked it up, I think she blew on it, to get rid of all the germs, because blowing on stuff works, as you know, that's what they do, that's why in operating theatres, they just blow on the instruments, no sterilisation needed, just blow on it and it's clean. And she put it in her mouth.

And me and the other woman were like, is it a three second rule? Well, it was on the floor for about 20 seconds, because we were talking about it. Oh, that's really, no. And what's silly is she had the whole bag, of others that she had, and I gave her back the ones that she gave me, and I said, you can have them back, because I don't like them.

I like the taste, I just don't like prawns. Because I think, what I was thinking of, because I had chicken balls, in batter, and it's really nice, from a Chinese takeaway. But there's prawns version of it, and I'm not into that kind of stuff, I don't like prawns.

Really. I've had them, I don't hate them, I just don't really like them. And I'm not really into seafood, that kind of seafood, outside of just fish, fish cakes, fish fingers.

That's a bit it really. It's a bit it. Picked it up off the floor, and ate it.

No. I had a friend who did that, who lived in a house, and he was cooking, and he dropped some bread, right near the bin. He picked it up, and just carried on eating it.

It's like, why? There's plenty of bread there. And it's like, I just, yeah, I've never been able to do that. I say that, I probably did when I was a kid, but I didn't know any better.

You know, when you're a little kid, you just don't know, do you? Don't know, but, oh. Anyway, that's enough of me for now. Happy, happy, happy, happy thoughts.

So, I want to go, I shall speak to you again tomorrow, and remember to be kind to yourself. You deserve to be happy, so do something nice for you, today. Okay? Lots of love.

Bye.
