Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name's Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Hello all my friends out there. How are you doing? I hope you're well and please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
Did that sound insincere? How are you? Hope you're well. Now let's get on with it. I hope everything is going groovy for you all.
Didn't do a recording yesterday, well not one of these, or the day before I think. Um which is quite rare for me but I did, excuse me, I did do other stuff so I was, I was fairly busy. I made uh, I still made recordings I just didn't make any of these ones, you know.
Oh blimey, I've just been charged for the website. If anyone out there would like to support me please go to paypal.me forward slash Jason Newland um or go to my website, the paypal link is on there, any little will help. Um I'm just paying out so much, so much money.
But it's okay, it's my own mess I got myself into but it's, it's part of the growth I guess, it's part of the growing of the, of the service and yeah that's just, it is what it is. But uh I haven't had, yeah I had hardly any PayPal gifts at all for quite a while actually. I don't mention it that regularly but uh I thought I would today just as I saw another $29 gone out of my account it's just, there's, there's, there seems to be more going out than going in at the moment.
That will change but at the moment that's how it is. Yeah I've got a bit of a cough still, yeah. I've actually got a sore chest now um almost not the collarbone but just below that like the tops of my ribs or the chest bone where I've been coughing so much but I think it's on its way out.
It's not as bad as it was and I suppose it just could have just been a chest infection but like a mild one. I've had chest infections that have knocked me out for 10 days in the past literally but I couldn't do anything and uh but cough for 10 whole days, didn't sleep, you know, this wasn't anything like that. This is just, just a mild, a mild chest infection probably.
My family seems to, it's one of the things they seem to have, like my dad and my nan both used to get chest infections sort of, not like every day but you know, it used to be like an ongoing kind of thing. So that's something to look forward to. I'm recording this at 10 past 9am on Friday the 30th of April.
Now I don't do many recordings in the morning but for some reason, like I did a stress and pain relief podcast episode yesterday but it ended up being nearly an hour long. Now in that time I can normally do two podcasts. I could do the relax and pain relief, no, relax and sleep hypnosis daily.
So I can do two recordings in an hour, a half hour each. By the time I'd finished that recording and edited it and uploaded it and all that stuff, I sat down for a little while and thought okay I'll have a little break and then I'll make another recording and I set the microphone up and I realised that I was, I wanted to go to bed, I was tired and this is about midnight, half 12, like that, I sit, I'm going to bed because I knew that if I started making a recording I would fall asleep whilst making it and that's not much good really, not much use.
The downside, I mean yeah I can make recordings during the day but if you can hear there is the birdies and the trees singing and I don't mind that with these recordings because this is all about me.
Now this is, this is a very relaxed, okay that's a bit silly, silly thing to say because they're all relaxed but this is a much more relaxed podcast in a sense of informal I guess you would say, this is a, this is dress down day, every day with this podcast so, well that's a noisy bird, so I'll make these recordings, I'll have Andre in the background sometimes, I'll have the pigeon, Herbert the pigeon, he comes and visits me, he's been following me around for about 17 years and then I've got you know maybe neighbours shouting
at each other, Foghorn Annie and so yeah, I'm not, you know in a way this is probably the best time for me to make a recording because this is me at my most awake, I get a little bit of a second wave sometimes, you know in the afternoon, late afternoon if I've had a nap or whatever but generally I'm at my, yeah I feel awake, a little bit tired but, oh stomach, oh man I just walked into the kitchen and I saw a mouse run across the counter, you know across you know where the sink
is and to where the boiler is, big old thing and I was like oh really, so I've kind of taken away part of the thing to get to the boiler and I've put newspaper trying to like gap the gap, fill the gaps up and I just, I haven't seen a thing for weeks and there was a time I go in there for like three or four days in a row, every time I went in there I saw it and then I duct taped all the cupboards at the bottom shut, I duct taped between the cupboards
and the washing machine and I tried to fill in as many of the gaps that it was going into when I saw it because it was on the floor at this point, hiding behind a cooker and stuff, never seen it on the counter before and that grossed me out, I'm gonna stop licking that counter I think from now on, yeah it's one of my favourite things is licking the taps but not anymore, not anymore, no, I mean no wonder I got a cough, so I've ordered a mousetrap, a humane mousetrap, let me be honest with
you, I thought about just killing the thing which goes against my personal belief system, it goes you know, I don't kill things, well why aren't you a vegetarian then, shut up, I don't, you know, I think the only things, the last time I ever killed a living being, myself purposefully, was when I was probably about six, stamping on lots of ants in the garden, since then, I'm not clashing humans here, I'm talking about animals and since then I've, since then I don't think I have, I gave mouth to mouth resuscitation to a budgie once and
I think I popped it and I don't, I'm not sure if it was dead or not and then I thought well if it's alive, I can test that by dropping it out of a window of a three-story house that I was living in and I dropped it, it flied but it didn't and then it was dead but I don't think I killed it, I think it was already, because I came home, because I used to, I've talked about this before, the house I used to live in was freezing cold, it was just, I'm talking about
poor choices that I've made, why would you buy a house that was freezing cold and still have it being freezing cold, here's my view, okay, if you can't afford, right, if you can't afford to keep your children warm, you shouldn't have children, that's my rule, that's, if you can't afford to at least keep the little horrible creatures warm, then what are you doing, you know, and we had everything, you know, it's, what's weird about it is we weren't poor in a sense of, my dad's worked really hard, very successful at what he did, we lived
in a huge house, massive garden, he had two cars or three cars at one point, he had a van and a car and a caravan and all kinds of stuff, house was lovely inside, all furniture, you know, it's like everything, like loads of toys, loads of stuff, but he didn't want the heating on, plenty of food, it's like we didn't go hungry, it was like great food, everything, but he wouldn't put the heating on, he wouldn't put the, I've never been so angry, he just, what, he's one of these, I call it an idiot mind,
you know, it doesn't mean the person's an idiot, but they've got an idiot mind for that particular thing, part of his brain just doesn't work, so the idiot mind is very much a man thing, this, for this particular thing that I've noticed to do with the thermostat on the heating, I don't know why, I don't know, I know it's a cliche that men are kind of tuned into the thermostat, I think I am a little bit here, but I won't be cold, I won't be denied, I won't be cold, what's the point of being cold,
I'm not going to sit in here with three jumpers on in order to save myself, you know, 50 pence or a couple of pounds, I genuinely don't care what the bill is, oh get a smart meter, then you can see every single penny you're using all the time, yeah, that's going to be relaxation inducing isn't it, watching a telly and seeing like how much you're spending, yeah, can't think of any other way to relax than that, it's like why don't we go a step further, you know, every hour the TV just like brings a broadcast
saying, you now owe an extra one pound fifty, and then just going back to the TV like, no, stick your smart meter up your smart buttocks, smart meter, I said, I actually spoke to them on the phone, so, and they said, well you have a smart meter, I said, no, you're right, they saw that, no, actually someone came in my house, yeah, get a smart, no, they said, well, you get, you get a little thing and you can, you can watch it and see what you spent, why would I want that, why would I want
that, they said, oh, you don't have to have it, you just put it in the cupboard, well, what's the point then, what's the point in giving me something that I'm not going to use, they want it because it saves them money, because they can see exactly what you've used and they can do the bills, they haven't got to come around, you know, they can get rid of some of their employees, gets rid of another job for, you know, this used to be quite popular, meter, meter, they see people working full-time, going around people's houses and
checking the meters, the electric and gas, it used to be like a job, I don't think it is anymore, technology, isn't it, all about technology, I don't mind technology, I love technology, but not, not if it takes away people's jobs and for me, technology should be stress reducing, not the opposite, now, you know, I, what did I do, yeah, I had my water bill come through yesterday, and I paid it, I try and pay my bills straight away, as soon as I get it, it's one of my things, I just, I don't like to leave
them, so I just get it paid, and what I did, it said on there, you can do it by the app, so I put in, search for the app, found it, logged in using the, you know, I set an account up to connect it to my, you know, my account, and that was easy, and then I can make a payment simply, really simple, put in my card details, and they save the card details, so next time I can just pay it in literally seconds, rather than faffing around, but it was quite easy before, it wasn't
difficult, but then, they said thank you for joining us, and thank you for becoming paperless, a paperless customer, so not they should be sending me bills anymore, I want bills, bills are a part of identity, is a way to prove who you are, by showing an electric or gas bill, or water bill, or a bank account, you know, bank account thingy, statement, in fact, I needed to do that the other day, online, they asked for that, a copy of that, to be shown, you know, a copy of a utility bill, as well as the passport,
not, not, not instead of, but as well as, and all these companies are taking them away, more and more, trying to get, this is like a moan, isn't it, it's because of that blimmin mice, mousy thing, anyway, I've ordered, I've ordered on Amazon, a mousetrap, I was thinking about just getting electrocuted, electrocuted it, I was thinking about it, I can't, and the weird thing about it is, I was angry when I saw it today, and we've got the whole building's infested, I, mine is probably the least infested out of the whole building, probably, because of
Andre, they don't want to come near him, he will eat that, you know, he's, he's a predator, he's one of their predators, I mean, even cats are less scary to a mouse, because they'll play with a mouse, cats don't even want to catch them, really, or even eat them, they just want to play with them, and I've lived in houses with cats, you're more likely to have a mouse, if you've got a cat, than if you don't have a cat, and those people, cat lovers out there, no, it's not true, yeah, trust me, they'll catch
them, and they'll bring them in, if they can, the only reason I leave them on the doorstep, is because they, you know, it's like, I'll leave it there, it's dead, I don't want to bring it in, if it's dead, if it's still alive, they'll bring it in, so they can play with it later, I've seen it at least four times, this, you know, literally seen cats bring mouse, mice into the house, I lived in one house, that had, I think, four cats, and the place was full of mice, full of them, admittedly, the cats did
try and catch them, but it's almost, I mean, that house might have had no, no mice at all, at one point, and then one of the cats caught one in the graveyard, because we lived near a graveyard, brought it in, to like, you know, play with it, it was pregnant, then it started having babies, and all that, cats are not deterrent for mice, and I thought, you think they should, they would be, wouldn't you, I've seen enough cartoons, dogs, the dogs are supposed to be, you know, a good deterrent, more for rats than mice, because
mice are a little bit too small for big dogs, obviously little dogs, not so much, they can do it, but they're not so much a deterrent, as a, like a catch, like on farms and that, the dog won't deter the rats, but the dog will catch the rats, so, you know, keep them a minimum, yeah, anyway, I went onto Amazon, and there's all these little pictures of these cute little mice, standing by the humane mouse traps, and some of the non-humane ones, the names of them, like cat jaw, and mouse squasher, it's like, oh, no,
no, you're right, I don't, I don't want to start killing now, you know, I think I've done all right up till now, to not be killing things, I think I'll, I'll stick to it, stick to not doing it, but then, if you go to the, if you really go a little bit deeper on it, every, every time we have a shower, we commit genocide, because we're killing millions and millions of living beings, which are on us, so, you know, depends how you look at it, what your value is on, on a living being, because every
time we walk down the street, we're squashing lots of things, you walk on the grass, how many little worms, and spiders, and all that kind of stuff, do you end up squashing, accidentally, I support, I squashed a few spiders, yeah, so that, I'm just thinking about the ant thing, when I was six, I haven't killed a spider, probably since I was a teenager, because I've stopped being scared of them, I used to be scared of them, I learned that from my step-mom, because she would literally wet herself, if she saw a spider, she learned it
from her mom, once I realized I learned it from her, the good thing about it, is because I no longer had an emotional connection with my step-mom, so it kind of broke any kind of other stuff that went with it, like having learnt phobias, having opinions, or behaviors, all that stuff, it kind of, all of that died with it, if that makes sense, so, spiders don't bother me at all, a tarantula, yeah, fair enough, you know, I would definitely not want to, yeah, that's something different, but just a general house spider, I don't care, if
I see one in the corner, I could sleep with it in the room, honestly, I have done many times, which is the title of this recording, I sleep with spiders, yeah, that's a good title, isn't it, what kind of image can I get for that one, wow, so yeah, I've got a humane, it was about £10, this is not a lot of money, so it's about £10, and it's a big see-through one, and it's quite big as well, so what I'll do is I'll I'll just keep, leave it in the kitchen, I really want to
exterminate them all, there is a bit, the part of me that wants to do that, I don't know, it's, I'll tell you why, partly is because my friend's cooker blew up the other day, well, about a couple of months ago, so, and he's got mice, so I'm thinking the mice tampered with the wires or whatever, which caused the cooker to blow up, but it knocked in the other side of the room, and so that could have been very, very serious, so my kettle stopped working yesterday, it's probably not related, but it, it kept tripping the
switch, the lights kept going off, luckily the storage room where the, the, what's it is, you know, the control centre or whatever, fuse box, I don't know, and there's a light in there that's always on, I don't know how that works, but that's, that's really handy, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to see out, but I didn't know the light stayed on, or could be used for the first, probably four years of living there, so I'm used to going in there, holding my phone, trying to see what I was doing, not realising all I had
to do is put the light switch on, I assumed that the whole place, if all the other lights didn't work, that wouldn't either, but I was wrong, and that's it really, so I got that coming through, didn't really want to have to spend money for a mousetrap, but I seem to have a tendency of buying stuff and then other people using them, why don't they buy stuff themselves, that's why, it's like, if you need a mousetrap, go and buy a mousetrap, but I seem to end up lending my stuff, I need it up here now,
I can't be lending stuff anymore, I need a mousetrap up here, I'm going to get some of those electrical, they send off a high pitch thing, which is supposed to be very irritating to little mouse's ears, so I'm going to, maybe, I already had one before in the hallway, I might get some more, maybe not today, but maybe in the next couple of weeks, and try and put one in every room, it's a very specific frequency, but it don't affect Andre, he's too big, it only affects the really little animals, and trust me, if it
affected him, he'd let me know, I was a little bit worried that it would, because the other one, I thought, I wonder if that's going to bother him, but he was asleep right next to it, so it was near the radiator in the hallway, and he was asleep under the radiator, whatever pitch, or megahertz, or whatever it is, that came out of that little contraption, that you plug in, he didn't, wasn't affected, talking about plug-ins, maybe I should get a, one of those plug-in aroma things, scented things, for the hallway, just make it smell a
bit better, see, I don't like synthetic smells, and really, not really a big fan of perfume, or any of that kind of stuff, anything, but at least that's not, that's not really, well, it is kind of synthetic, but I guess it is, and it's chemical, isn't it, perfume, but I'm talking more like air freshener, and yeah, I used to have a friend, that would always use in that kind of crap, like you plug it in, and it'd just be choking me, like, it's just horrible, and it'd spray out, it'd spray, you know, outward, every, basically
squirt, every, maybe hour or two, it's like, what's wrong with you, can you just turn it off, while I'm here, another thing he'd do, he'd have a light, right next to the television, nice bright light, right next to it, it's like, it's distracting me, I want to watch the television, all I want to do is look at the light now, I can't, I just have to have things the way I want them to be, I know, it's wrong, it's terrible, isn't it, it's terrible, I think that would be my, one of my biggest nightmares is,
if I lived with someone, to come home and see everything's rearranged, the TV's now on the other wall, the, you know, the set is on the other side, I would be so angry, honestly, it's like, well, you're done, so the thing is, I'd have to make sure I never got with someone, that was like that, because I had a cousin, who I used to rent a room off, and she was like that, I mean, literally, I'm sure, like, in one month, I think she changed her room around about three times, the living room, she was,
there's a big dissatisfaction within her, just generally in life, which was never going to be sorted by changing a room around, she needed to change her whole life around, she needed just to be happy, basically, and I hope she is, but she wasn't then, she's quite a miserable person, but a lot of that isn't, it's just, I think that was just, she wasn't doing, she was living in East London, which is a pretty grimmy, grimy place to live back then, and it's hard to really feel any kind of identity in a place where you're pretty
much the odd one out, which was the case in that area at that time, it's hard to kind of feel a sense of, not that that didn't bother me personally, but I know some people, like the older generation, struggled with it, you know, how London changed from the 60s to, between the 60s and the 90s, London changed so much, I mean, the whole country changed, but I think London, and maybe other, like, cities changed a huge, hugely, and became much more, more people, and more expensive to live, I mean, now it's priced itself out, London
has, but I couldn't afford to live there now, I couldn't afford to live in London, I would have to be, yeah, I mean, some places they charge, like, they want a grand a week to rent a flat, a thousand pound a week, a thousand pound a week, a thousand, 52 grand a year just to rent a flat, 52 grand, if I was earning 50 grand a year, I would class myself as being doing quite well, actually, and in my mind, I would think, oh, I could move to London, I could go and live somewhere nice,
so to me, London is, I like London, I can't help it, I do, but I know it's a bit of a struggle for some people, from the old, you know, it's like, oh, there's no one like me anymore, I've got, there's just too many people, don't know anyone, like, I like that, I like not knowing people, I like the, I like the anonymity of being able to just, just go for a walk, and not have to stop and speak to anyone, or say hello to anyone, or try and remember people's names, or anything like that,
just to be able to just walk, go somewhere, and, I mean, the good thing is, if you get to know the shopkeepers, if you, or, you know, like with me, the laundrette lady, if I fancy the chat, and I was walking past the laundrette, I just pop in there and have a cigarette with her, and just have a chat with her, or go into the corner shop, there was this one corner shop that I used to go into, and, in Stratford, and I used to stand in there for hours chatting, because there was two blokes
in there, there was the owner, and there was another one who used to call me ponytail, because I used to have long hair back then, this is like the early 90s, and I used to stand in there and chat, we used to, yeah, I used to have a good old laugh, and I did that for a couple of years, but then I could come out of there and not know anyone, and it was great, I remember, this isn't funny, but I remember, I'm walking up towards the shop one day, and there's these two blokes running
past me, and the other bloke, I think he, I didn't realise he was security, the one who used to chat to me, called me ponytail, but he was in there, he was running after them, and I said, what's wrong, and they'd just been burgled, at gunpoint, I was like, wow, I mean, what are you really going to get from a corner shop, how much money do you think there's really going to be in the till, a couple of hundred, I mean, you're going to risk going to prison for seven years, for a couple of hundred
pound, because, you know, armed robbery is a fairly serious thing here, so, and also, there's the added seriousness of it, because just having a gun, is quite a lengthy prison sentence, because guns aren't freely available here, they're not as popular as they are in other countries, and I think here, to get a gun, generally, you need to be a farmer, farmers shouldn't be allowed guns, they're almost the worst people to have guns, don't give a farmer a gun, give them a catapult, give them a stick, you know, at the very most, a taser maybe, not
a gun, I mean, I don't like, it's not that I don't like farmers, because obviously, I'm not into that, I don't like, there's millions of farmers, but I have had a gun stuck in my face, a shotgun, stuck in my face when I was about five, or yeah, about five years old, and me and my brothers were running in a field, on a farm, and this farmer, complete idiot, should have gone to prison for a long time for what he did there, you can't point a gun and threaten to shoot three little kids, but he
did, so I had this gun, twice I've had guns pointed at me, and he, luckily, one of our, a friend, I don't know who he was, I don't know if he was from the children's home or wherever, but he walked up and said, no, it's okay, they're good lads, please don't kill them, and there's still a part of me would love, he's probably dead, long dead now, he was an old git then, imagine, you know, 40, 45 years later, he's probably, but I'd love to stick a gun in his face, so he has a feel,
sticking guns in children's faces, man, it's just, that's like a serious crime, isn't it, that should be like, you know, 20 years minimum, that's it, I'm quite hardcore when it comes to prison sentences, I'd be putting everyone in prison, every thief, that's it, that'd be in prison, that'd be it, all liars, anyone that lies, not make stuff up, just, I'm talking about a liar, you know, there's a difference between a liar and people that tell lies, a liar, you know, I think we've all, we must have all met, I know I have, met someone that's
just a liar, and you know, they don't deserve to be on the planet, really, they just don't deserve to be in society, unfortunately, I know lots of people that don't deserve to be in society, or have done over the years, so yeah, it's good that I'm not in any kind of power, politically, because I would, oh God, I'd get really bad press, because I would be hardcore, that's why I could never, I'd never want to have that responsibility, because I would bring the death penalty, I'll bring the death penalty back, I would, honestly, even for
people like Milkman that whistled too early in the morning, death penalty, honestly, I just, I'm hardcore, I don't mess about, I always thought it'd be quite good if there was, we should make court a bit more interesting, have it on live TV, not the court bit and all the bull, you know, that goes on with the, because the lawyers are in cahoots with each other anyway, so whether it's a prosecutor or a defending lawyer, they're up each other's bums, they're, you know, I mean, they're basically, they know each other already, they're probably not even trained
together, and at the end of the court case, they are the big winners, those lawyers, Eva's both side, and they probably, you know, they will go for a drink probably, afterwards, well that's good, we made another 50 grand, that's nice, they're not, you know, they're not to be trusted, we know they're not to be trusted, don't we, everyone knows that, they're the winners, the lawyers, the solicitors, the 200 pound for a letter to be written, all that kind of stuff, so they're the winners, anyway, that's not the point, what I'd like to do is have
it televised where they give the verdict, and the person could be standing over a crocodile pit, like a, and then if it's like guilty, the door opens, and they just, or the trap door opens, and they fall down and get, and get eaten, is that a bit harsh, I don't know, you could say, yeah, but all she did was steal some makeup, yeah, but she won't do it again, will she, you know, it's, that's one less gone, isn't it, it's, if we reduce them, the, that ilk, ilk, if we get rid of them, bit by
bit, wouldn't life be easier for the rest of us, if you got rid of the people that think that the law doesn't apply to them, people at speed, people at park, wherever they want to park, people who are aggressive, they're like unnecessarily aggressive, people that hurt women, or hurt children, or hurt other men even, whatever, just bit by bit, just, you know, start to reduce, just to reduce the population a little bit, just, I mean, we've got, I don't know why, we've got to get a, get some kind of virus that only attacks abusers, you
know, just a virus that only attacks them, and then we can like actually start celebrating the amount of deaths every day, you know, all this, or like really violent people, yeah, the new Corona 25 only attacks men that are really, and women that are really, really violent, six died today, and then we can all get and clap, we can all get, you know, it'd be brilliant, like, oh, 44 died, yeah, 44 less abusers on, yeah, brilliant, oh, that'd be wonderful, yeah, that'd be nice, or people that hurt animals, you know, it's like, oh, 73 adults
that have abused animals, they died today from the new virus, whoa, 73, let's get pizza and celebrate, yeah, this is why I don't make recordings when I'm awake, I have to be, I should be more dopey, and I'll be all right, I've got to stop, stop doing stuff when I'm actually alert, that's, how great would that be, though, if we could start getting rid of the scum, oh, bit by bit, just get a virus that gets rid of the scum, I'll be up for that, I'll probably end up catching it, realising, oh, my God, all
this time, I've been scum, I mean, I know a lot of people that, you know, come into that category, but I don't really class myself as that, and I don't really class them in my, they're not really in my sights when it comes, because they're my friends, so any thieves that I don't know, anyone I do know, then good on you, you're good, good for you, liars, I wonder if it's a disease, is lying a disease, you know, I know people that lie, and they do it so easily, so easily, it's like the most natural
thing in the world, that I don't know if they even realise that they're lying, now, outside of saying silly things, or doing, you know, these podcasts, where I do, I don't lie, I just make stuff up, there's a difference, and a lie would be, if I came on here, and said, oh, I'm about to be kicked out of my flat, and my uncle is in the hospital in Saudi Arabia, and I've got to get to Saudi Arabia to see him, and my bear escaped, and I haven't had any food for 14 days, can you please
send me a PayPal gift of five pound, or 20 pounds, so I can buy some crack, you know, so, of course, that's a lie, so there's, you know, that to me, that's the kind of thing that would be a lie, if I talk about being six foot four, blonde, blue eyes, with some real length, then I'm lying, but it's not lying, it's just joking around, and just pretending, and making stuff up, because who's it hurting, who's it affecting, unless you say, well, yeah, well, I liked your voice, and, you know, I kind of thought you'd
sound quite nice, and I enjoy listening to you, and then when you said you were six foot four, and blue eyes, I became moist, and therefore fell in love with you, completely, totally, absolutely, forever and ever, moist, moist Mary, and yeah, I assume people realise that when I say stuff like that, I am just joking, I'm not really moist, and I'm not really six foot four, not that six foot four is that tall, I'd say six foot five plus is tall, six foot four is tall, I'm five eight, so anything over six foot is fairly
tall to me, but I think about five ten is average, five ten, five eleven is about the average height in this country, I'm below average, but not by that much, there's plenty of people that are my height, maybe five nine, you know, not a lot of difference, now five two is, you know, I wish I was five two, I do, I would play on it, I would be, I would just, I'd be the cutest little five two you'd ever met, honestly, I would, I would, I'd be camping it up, being five two, being tiny, I'd
be really milking it, because, you know, you've got to use what you've got, and being really short is an asset, if you use it correctly, let's face it, you're not a threat to anyone physically, okay, that's not true, but to the other person, you're not threatening, you may be, you know, a professional boxer, or, you know, a martial artist, or UFC cage fighter, and there are those that are, like, really short, but generally, you're not going to be intimidating, which means when people don't feel intimidated, they're going to be probably friendlier to you, and because
if someone's really short, you're less likely to get bullied as well, because people will look out for you, people protect those that are vulnerable, generally, in my experience, I know that, you know, I, yeah, I was really little, I was really little at school, and I had friends look out for me, I didn't really necessarily need it, but occasionally, you know, I'd have, like, one of the big kids just jump me from behind, which is a bit weird, and I'd, like, say, get off me, I'm trying to have a shower, and then, out of nowhere,
a friend would say, all right, get off him, and I was, like, I didn't even know what was happening, I was, like, what's going on, so I had, I was quite lucky in that way, I didn't have no brothers at my school, no, go, go away, go do somewhere else, I'll just come over to go to the toilet, right near where my feet are, you didn't even need to go to the toilet, did you, come here, I hear you, he purposely ignores me, I've got him in my arms now, he purposely ignores me, I say,
Andre, come here, and he just walks away, what is wrong with you, where does that attitude come from, where does your attitude, stinking thinking, stinking thinking, that's where it comes from, you little monkey, why can't you behave yourself, oh, I got him his, his food on Wednesday, the stuff, the food that he likes, okay, get off me, go away, the food that he likes always, and, because he won't eat anything other than two types of food, whiskers and I think it's go-cat or whatever it is, which is the one with gravy, he'll eat either of
those, but the whiskers is his second favourite, you know, he didn't used to like that, but he came around to it, so he has a particular one that he really enjoys, it comes about four different flavours, he won't eat any cat food that has jelly, he won't eat, even the gravy lover, okay, I thought he likes it because it's got gravy in it, gravy lover, extra gravy, didn't like it, and because of the, I don't know, the European issues or whatever, there's been problems getting hold of that particular brand that he likes, so I've got
a cupboard or a big tub full of cat food that he won't, he doesn't like, but I have to give it to him every now and then, and for the last week, he's been eating a little bit, he has to eat something because he's hungry, but he has a very bare minimum, maybe over the whole day he'll eat half of a bowl, instead of eating two bowls, which is what he normally does over the day, about half a bowl, now, since Wednesday, he's having two bowls and he licks the bowl clean, he just loves that
food, you know, it's, I don't know what it is, he loves it, that's his favourite, and I know some people's attitude, he gets what he gets, gotta eat what you get, yeah, if you're a, if you're a middle-aged man in the 70s, yeah, yeah, that's, that's true, that's how we were brought up, that's how, you know, get what you get and be grateful, yeah, it doesn't really count, that's for people that you don't care about, you know, have a bit of compassion, darling, how about, what do you like, and then giving them what they like,
rather than giving them something you don't like, you have it anyway, if you're hungry, you'll eat it, where's that trap door to the crocodile pit, that's just, that's another idiot, the idiot brain, I think everyone's got the idiot brain in them, and it's like there, it's, it's not, not everyone's got an idiot brain, I think it's just a part of the brain, it's the idiot brain, like a separate little part of the brain that we all have, some are way more active than others, some people seem to use it more than the rest of their
brain, I don't want, oh, pride, there are people with no pride, and that they won't back down, regardless of how much damage it does to themselves, that's the idiot brain in full operation, I'll give you an example, there's a documentary I saw, and we got over here, we got a horrible thing called the bedroom tax, which basically, they, any bedroom that's not being used, they put a bedroom tax on it, well I think even if it is being used, so if someone's living in a house, one person's living there, and they've got two bedrooms, then
they have to pay bedroom tax on the second bedroom, it's something, I'm not sure the ins and outs, but that's kind of how it is, and you know, it's upset a lot of people over the years, and I completely understand, I'm not in that position myself, but you know, people had their family home, I can see it, this came in after my nan moved out of her house, so she had a three bedroom house, the third bedroom was a box room, but it was still big enough for a bed, I used to sleep in there,
and because she always used to say to me that I pretty much reminded her of a box, which is nice, and there was another double bed room next to her bedroom, see if she'd have still been alive, like during, well she'd have still been living there, because she was alive when this came in, she would have got charged for both of those bedrooms, bedroom tax, which I'm not sure how much it is, but it's an inconvenience, there was this bloke, a couple on there, and they had I think like a three bedroom house, and they
were being charged bedroom tax for two bedrooms, it was a family home that they'd lived in, there's council, they'd lived in it for you know, 30, 40 years or something, and he refused to pay the council tax, or the bedroom tax, refused, now it's not a huge amount of money, it's inconvenient, and it's more than you know, probably people want us to pay, if you know, I'm gonna find out how much, how much is bedroom tax, okay, see how much is the spare bedroom tax, 14 percent, 14 percent of the eligible rent for one bedroom,
25 percent of the eligible rent for two percent, I'm not sure, I'm gonna have to look at this, spare bedroom, 40, your housing benefit could be reduced if you live in council or social housing, and have a spare bedroom, okay right, 40 percent reduction in your housing benefit, if you've got one spare room, if you've got two or more spare rooms, 25 percent of the eligible rent, eligible rent, okay, so I'll give you an example, if your rent is a hundred pound a week, you have one spare bedroom, that means your rent will reduce, so
to 86 pound a week, which is 14 pound, 86, 96, yeah 14 pound, and 25 percent, so that's 25 pound a week, now between the two of them, there was two of them there, so it's 25 pound a week, that they were going to get their rent reduced, and they were pensioners, these were pensioners, so it's 12 pound 50 a week each, which isn't a lot of money, you know, generally, just in general things, but their family, all the children said, we'll just, just, we'll just put in a few quid each, and cover it, I
think they had like three kids or something, we'll just put in a few quid, so it's, it's not an issue, just do that, no, says the father, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, so he moved to defy paying the bedroom tax, even though he didn't have to pay it himself, because he was going to get help, because of his pride, he just refused to budge, he moved to a little flat, one bedroom flat, that the council offered him, which was in a high-rise building, or something like that, completely different to where he was living, he
was living in a house with a garden, he had dogs, or at least one dog, had to get rid of the dog, and here's the thing that really like, that got me, so he did all this, basically just to spite himself, basically, not, that's right, like really hurt himself so much, by sticking to his guns, pride, that's why I have no pride, I have zero pride, because it doesn't get you anywhere, it just causes illness, and he was clearly ill, for how he acted, he used to breed pigeons, and race pigeons, and he talked, I'm
not going into details, but how he, one by one, got rid of each pigeon, with his own hands, he basically must have been in really bad mental health at that point, or because he wouldn't back down, now, not backing down, is a brilliant thing, skill to have, in certain situations, isn't it, if you've had an accident, and you know, you need to get to a hospital, and it's a five hour, you know, a five mile walk, and not giving in, and keep going, can sort of save your life, you just keep going, never quit, but
man, that's like, it affected me watching that, because like, just come on, I know people, I got an ex-girlfriend of mine, she was, went to court, with, I don't know, someone she was in business with, and I think they bought a house together, and then they sold it, and he took the profit, and she, it wasn't about the money, it was the principle, and I told her, 15 years ago, this stuff will make you ill, it ages you, makes you ill, just let it go, you haven't lost any money, apart from the profit, you know,
it's not like, she didn't get ripped off, she did get ripped off, but not in a, she wasn't out of pocket, she just didn't get the profit, I think that's what happened, and no, it was about a hot air balloon, what was it, or was it the yacht, I don't know, something, and she kept at it for years and years and years, and then she said to me one day, she said, you were right, I said, I know, but what were you talking, what specific subject are you talking about, I know I'm right, and she
said, you're so very arrogant, I said, on this occasion, you're right as well, yeah, and she said, yeah, I should have just dropped it, kept at it for another, she kept at it for another 10 years, just honestly, just went, kept at it for forever, and I know other people like that, I know, I know people that just won't back down, and I see how it's helped them, but I see now it's hurt them as well, you know, I've got a friend, he's very successful, and he would never back down, that's part of the reason
for his success, but at the same time, I've seen times when it might have been useful for him to back down, but hey, who am I to judge, it's not going to stop me, right, I better end the call, I'll have to look after my neighbour's stupid dog for a couple of hours, yay, how wonderful, although I could probably do with going out, the reason I was going to go, he's got to go to the doctor's, and I was going to go along, and then he decided he wanted to go shopping as well, and I
could help him carry the bags back, which don't really appeal to me, and then I started having a bad stomach the last couple of days, so I kind of needed to be near the toilet, that's nice isn't it, and then I decided, well, if I can't come with you, because I was going to look after the dog outside the doctor's surgery, I said I'll just look after the dog here, be easier, and now I'm thinking if I've got to be with the dog, I might as well be outside, I don't know, because he's just, he's
a lovely dog, but he's a lump, he just knocks stuff over, knocks my equipment over, he's very restless, and there's no pleasure involved in having him up here, not like that, he's fine sometimes, but when he's, you know, as soon as he gets up, he's so excited, he tries to eat Andre's food, and he's literally, he can walk through a wall, he's that strong, I didn't even know there was a wall there, it was like, who put this straw here, this, like it was a straw wall, why did I just walk through it, no it
was bricks mate, just walked through bricks, he's so strong, a big heavy dog, he stands on your foot, I mean just his foot, on your foot, it feels like an adult is stepping on your toes, no actually that was an adult, yeah, that wasn't a good, no, that's not a good story, then, not a good example, anyway, I'm going to go, thank you for listening, I love you all very, very much, take care, remember to be kind to yourselves, because you deserve to be happy, lots of love, bye.
