Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland. This is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
Now, as per usual, I'm testing out different microphone techniques in order to increase the, not just the quality of the sound, but also the volume of the recording for the podcast. So I've been studying different techniques and different ways to edit more precisely. So, I don't know if you can hear that.
What is that? I've got, I've got the window open so you can hear the birds in the background. So here's me trying to make a better quality sound, but less background sound, sound, sound, sound, and I've left the window open, but it entails getting up and everything's a bit kind of balanced where I am. Everything but my brain, everything but my brain is balanced.
So before I go any further, I'd like to say a big, send a big hug to Boston Chicky who's unwell with COVID. So I'd like to send a big hug and, you know, I spoke to Boston a few hours ago on the phone and just wishing you well and for you and your family because the whole family is unwell. So I hope you recover very quickly and get back to your life.
And what else? I'd like to introduce you to a new friend of mine called Paul. Oh, Paul Morris and the, okay, he's offered to do some music for me, a background music for a recording. So what I've done is, well, I said yes, and he did a clip of a sample and he sent it to me and I listened to it and I said, cool, can we do a longer version, two hours? And he did.
And he sent it to me a couple of days ago, had a bit of trouble downloading it, but in the end found a way to do it. It's just figuring out how to do stuff with the iPad sometimes because it, with laptops, things, especially Windows, I've been using Windows since, you know, what, 1998, probably. And so to get used to something different, it's taken a while, you know, had the iPad for, it's less than a year, probably eight months.
So I've had to kind of learn different ways of doing things with a laptop, things of that nature. It was straightforward, but then anything's straightforward if that's what you're used to, isn't it, I guess. Anyway, so I downloaded it and what I could do, that's strange.
It's going to say I could play a little bit to you, just so you can hear it. Make sure the volume's down low. All right, it's downloading it onto the phone now, which is cool.
So it's going to be, it's going to be, what's it called? It's called Tilted Audio by Paul Morris. By Paul Morris. And so he's the producer of the music.
I'm going to use it as a background sound, not for this recording. So don't do it for let me bore you to sleep. But I have done, but generally I don't.
And perhaps, perhaps I might, perhaps I might make a recording later today, a relaxation sleep recording and put it on there and do one with that. So what I'll do, I'll play you a little bit of it when it's downloaded. It's now downloading to the phone, where are you? No connection.
Are you talking about no connection? Oh, okay. I know. I have my phone on do not disturb.
No, that's fine. That's strange. I played it.
I actually did a recording yesterday. Let me bore you to sleep. And I really did.
I just want to play it. I don't want to download it. Anyway, I did this recording.
It's about an hour long. But I was again testing to get the quality of the sound. I thought if I could get the um, play around with the hertz, HRZ, whatever they are, put it down to a really low, and maybe the size of the audio will be smaller.
Where at the end of it, the sound was awful. It was really, really bad sound. So I just decided not to upload it, which is why I haven't made one of these.
Let me bore you to sleep recordings. So I did, you know, for a couple of days. Here we go.
So if you can imagine I'm talking over it, asking you to just close your eyes, to get in touch with how your feet, and maybe wiggle your feet a bit. Wiggle your toes rather. Flap your feet, if you're a penguin.
Now focus your attention on your hands, maybe wiggling your fingers. Now focus on your stomach. Maybe you can tense the muscles in your stomach.
It's very spacey, isn't it? Very light, very positive. It's a very positive sound, I think. Noticing your legs, maybe tense your legs, just gently.
Tensing the muscles, holding for maybe a couple of seconds. Letting go, focusing on your shoulders. Noticing how your shoulders feel.
Focusing on your back, your chest, your face, your jaw, your eyes, the back of your neck. As you continue listening, the whole of your body can relax even deeper. So there you go.
So that's the music that I'm going to be using for my next recording, the next sleep relaxation session that I do. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow. So yeah, it's very airy, I think.
Airy and floaty. Almost, I can almost imagine floating on a cloud with that music playing. And the mind, like the mind listening to it, but not really being able to follow it, perhaps, as I feel more relaxed and sleepy.
Sleepy. Let's have a little drink. So there's not much going on today.
It's a bit, I think it's a bit rainy out there. Just staying in like I'm supposed to. I've been working on my website quite a lot the last few days.
I've decided to keep everything on my website free, as per the original plan. So all the recordings, I'm in the middle of uploading all of my main recordings, the main podcasts. The playlists are on there already.
But they will, all of the recordings are available to stream free. You can play them on the website and you have the option to download them for free as well. What you can do is when you go to download stuff, it will ask you to put in your details, including email address, so that the link can be sent to you, the download link, free of charge.
And your details, your name and stuff, and ask them whether or not you would like to be on the mailing list. Now, a way to avoid doing this every time, if you want to sort of download stuff regularly, is to sign up. When you sign up, the next time you come back, you can just put your details in, just sign in, and you won't have to go through that process again.
You'll just download it, and it'll be done. It might still ask for an email address, I'm not sure, but that's about it, because you'll be signed in, which means you can download a new recording every day. And that might be easier than streaming.
Streaming is fine, I mean, streaming is easier, but if you decide you want to download, you just download it to your phone or to your tablet, and just play it whenever you want. So there, yeah. So I feel quite pleased about that, actually.
Quite pleased that I've made those changes back. And I'm just going to continue for the rest of the year, the way I am. Making new recordings, making the website a bit better, and getting, you know, perhaps getting better equipment as well over the next year.
But at the moment, I'm trying to, trying to find out how I can get the best quality recording using the equipment I already have. But there's, you know, there's a lot of things that I can't, there's quite a few things I can't do on the iPad that I would be able to do on a laptop. Now, some of those things are things that I just don't know how to do, and they are doable.
There's ways around, but there is also other things that are not, you know, easy to do on a tablet, that would be a lot easier, a lot simpler, quicker, you know, to get done on a laptop. So I might look in the future about getting a decent laptop. I don't know.
Not anytime soon. That would probably be, can you hear Andre in the corner? He's not in the corner, but in the background. He's just underneath the table, asleep, snoring, or dreaming.
Yeah, so that's another plan. There's a few things I've been looking at possibilities of making changes regarding soundproofing this room, especially this room. And I've got quite a lot of soundproofing pads on my walls.
So the ones on the right hand side, you know, they've been added with glue on the back, and it was quite a big job, and I spent, I also got help with the soundproofing as well. I had some people help send me some in and help to finance it. But I've got different soundproofing on the other side of the room.
But something that I've always remembered is Elvis Presley used to have a soundproof room, and he had a carpet on the ceiling, a big thick carpet. That was weird, weird noise. It sounded like someone just dropped something in my lap, like a big pile of paper.
Now get on with your work, Jason. We don't mind you talking to yourself, but stop recording it. Weird.
So, a little bit tired, but that's okay. Lack of physical activity. I think I'm gonna, although yesterday I did some vacuuming.
My new vacuum came through a couple of days ago. I think Monday, I think it was. And I had no choice.
I had to get one, because the other one broke. And, you know, it's really a case of get one or let the floor just continue to get worse and worse. So I got it.
I didn't open it Monday. Tuesday, I had a little look in there. And then probably about six o'clock yesterday in the evening, or, you know, late afternoon, I got on with it.
And I started, I vacuumed every room a little bit. Living room mainly, kitchen, bathroom, the hallway, and part of the bedroom. And it really does make a difference.
It's just suddenly it looks, it just looks better. I decided to use the carpet cleaner to try to clean some of the carpet near the front door. So I did some of it.
And then the carpet cleaner started. Making these noise, noises, noisy noises. So I had to keep stopping and trying to clear out the, whatever the obstruction was.
And I think I did three loads. Maybe it's two. Okay, so hold on to what? I don't know.
I fell asleep. I literally did drift off there for about five seconds. That's what happens when I drift off.
I was thinking about what kind of jobs I'd like to have. If I was going to have a job, I thought about this earlier. And I thought, you know, what would be my ideal job? I'd like to be the person to get paid to follow Boris Johnson, our Prime Minister, around and just continuously, every now and then, rub a balloon on top of his head to create that stand up, sticky up, electrified kind of hair that we all enjoy seeing.
So that's one job would be good. I've already spoken about being a bra fitter. That would have been kind of a good job.
Just because I'm into Fannish, Fannish fashion. I really am falling asleep. This is terrible.
I shouldn't have done that relaxing thing earlier. Sometimes I do drift. And I think, what have I said that happened the other day? Actually listen back to the recording in order to get a hold and make sure I hadn't said anything too strange.
So let me see if I've got any messages. Oh my God, any messages? Yes. I might, I might, I might not.
There's no guarantees. No guarantees. So Juicy, I'd like to say thank you to Juicy for letting me know about Boston.
So Juicy's very concerned. I've got a message here Boston. If you listen to this, this is from Heidi.
She says, Hi Jason. Not sure everyone appreciates messages from strangers. So I'm sending my wishes for a good recovery for your friend, Boston Chickie, to you.
Okay, so instead of contacting you directly Boston Chickie, she sent me a message to give to you. Because she wasn't sure, I guess, if you wanted her to randomly contact you. Well, that's really nice.
It says, I hope she heard your podcast, and she feels supported by that. I know that I appreciate kind words from my virtual friends. Maybe she will too.
Have a nice day. So I'll pass that message on. I will just have.
It's from Heidi. And I suppose, I'd like to think of my listeners as being kind of like a family, you know. I'm kind of like the brother you never wanted.
You know, like a family that don't like each other. Oh, Andre's popping over. He's bending over.
He just looked at me, turned round and bent. Andre, that's just ridiculous. Andre has run off.
I can't believe he just did that. Glad the window's open. That's all I'm gonna say on that subject.
So yeah, Heidi, I'll pass the messages on to Boston Chickie. Yeah, you've got a commonality, you know, if you're listening to me. And there's also a group that I've got, that Molly is the, not perpetrator, proprietor, not admin, but she sort of looks after it.
I don't know what it's called. I'll tell you in a minute. I will.
Jason Newland, the hypnotist. I think that's the one. It might not be.
No, it's not. So going back. Jason Newland, hypnotist.
It might be this. No, it's not that one. Oh, that's weird.
Jason Newland, the hypnotist. 17 people like this. That's gotta be the one then.
Events. Excuse me. Blimey.
Mr. Coffee Man. I say, a nice big thing to Kate. She lost three stone.
Congratulations. Groups. Huh.
Anyway, this is a private group that I've got. Or private page. And there.
Notifications. Jason Newland, hypnotist group. Yeah.
It's the Jason Newland. No, Jason Newland, hypnotist group. There's 40 members.
It's a private group. See, if you want to be added, I can. You can be added.
Just ask to be added. And Molly will sort that out for you. And if you're on the group, in the group, if you've got any issues, Molly's the moderator.
So, you know, it's not a place for arguments. It's really not. Can't be asked for that crap.
I don't think anyone can. And you can go anywhere online for that. You don't need to come into a private group with me.
Or any of my pages, really. It's not about that. And, but it's a private group.
The reason why it's private, and I've got no idea why it's private. I don't even remember starting the thing. The reason, I think, is because, unlike the, with the pages anyone could just like, and they just maybe come and go and aren't, you know, necessarily bothered.
Or maybe they do are bothered. But you know, they're, there's a mixture of lots of different people. I've got 28,000 on one of my pages.
So with this is 40 members. And let me have a look, see. And you need to ask to join.
And there's a few people on there. There's also another group that I don't, that's been started, that I'm not even, that I don't know about really. But I don't know.
Yeah. So there's this 40 people. And these are only people that listen to my recordings.
Yeah. So as I said, just contact, just come on and just, you know, you will be added. But at the moment, it's a private group.
Who can I add? There's so many to choose from. I was not allowed to choose lots. Just.
Anyway, that's that. That's there. There's a let me bore you to sleep.
Facebook page, which again, you may not have been aware of. And that is, if you just put in Facebook, let me bore you to sleep. And this is open, it's not private.
And you can just join and leave messages and get to meet other people as well that listen to these podcasts. There's not a huge amount of people on here. Notifications, like to Darby, like my let me bore you to sleep page yesterday.
Vanessa, Vanessa contacted me last night. Because I did the recording the sleep hypnosis weekly number 63. I think it was.
And Vanessa posted me this picture. And it says, Jason, I don't want to complain. A good start.
And but have I have you on my TV right now. And I have it turned up to 100%. And I can hardly hear you.
And there's this picture. Is that you, Vanessa? Hmm. It's weird seeing me in the background.
We're a big yellow t shirt. Or a big fat face. Blimey.
Is that what I look like? Oh my gosh. And I watched the video on my phone and could hardly hear it. So I don't know what I did or didn't do.
Whilst I was going through the recording process. And, you know, I was making a podcast at the same time. In a way talking about how to, you know, trying to get the volume up.
Yeah, there's, you know, the batteries went in that appliance. Batteries. What am I talking about? I fell asleep.
I literally fell asleep. I was talking and dreaming at the same time. Batteries.
There's nothing to do with batteries. What was I talking about? Something about beards. My phone just came on.
Oh, I just got a message from Vanessa. It says, I'm just getting ready to listen to you now. Night night, Jason.
Give Andre kisses for me. Love you both. Oh.
Oh no, that was. Oh, I got a little tingle. Oh, that was, that was, that was ages ago.
I wonder why my phone lit up then. No phone calls. No voicemail messages.
Well, I don't get voicemail messages. Yeah. Someone said that I mumble.
Do I mumble a lot? I mean, maybe when I fall asleep. Batteries. Vibrates.
Maybe, but I don't, I think I'm fairly clear in my verbal adventures. Perhaps I'm wrong. It's possible I could be wrong.
I've been wrong before. See, I've got no idea what I was talking about. I was talking about.
Hmm. Oh, I listened to the, watched the video and the volume was really, really, really low. Very low.
Very low. So I figured, you know, there's a way I could have done it. I've got it on audio separate anyway.
You could have put it together, but I just decided to take it off. So I deleted it from YouTube and then just added the podcast onto YouTube instead of the video. So to replace it.
So it's pretty much the same really in a way. Yeah. Kind of.
Pretty much. Pretty much. If I was a snowman sitting in a snow van.
Ah, what? YouTube. Doesn't matter. YouTube studio.
Watch time minutes. So I deleted a lot of videos a few weeks ago. So I'm getting a lot less views.
I did 21,000 minutes listening to. Vanessa says, you're live now. Hello.
Friendly Toad says, thank you, Jason. Always helped me relax. Thank you.
What other things? YouTube studio. Studio. Comments.
Okay. Here we go. So here's the comments that I've had.
Not replied to them. So I've just really seen them and they were all on YouTube. I say all, I wasn't that many.
But it was enough. I'm more tired now than I was when I was doing the, listening to that music. And I don't know what that background sound was, but it's called Biondre.
That's weird. I'm going to put my glasses on. It's something very strange now.
Oh, it's just paper. I might try and clean some more of the carpet today. Ella Smithy says, hi, this was informative.
This is the, for the relaxing and sleepy body scan. Number 295, deep sleep, whisper hypnosis. Hi, this was informative.
I've been trying to look for a video similar to yours that explains the ideas in this YouTube video. You're video actually is like the content of Dr. Ethan. Dr. Ethan's videos are for sure useful.
And I actually learned a lot for my midterms. He is a cool med student. Okay.
You should check out his page out and give the medical student a like. Dr. Ethan Health. Let me just, I just want to do something if it allows me.
Oh, come on. I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my eyes. I've been waiting for someone like you.
You'd make me real. Why does it not let me copy? Okay. Dr. Ethan's videos.
Your video actually is like the content. Okay. Your video is like the content of Dr. Ethan.
Uh, Ethan. Ethan little star, how I wonder what you are. There's a bright red bird in the sky.
It's tickle tickle. It's little secret star. How I wonder how you are.
And that's mumbling. Now that's mumbling. Oh yes, no doubt about that.
Uh, i'm always looking at things i don't tell you what but i'm looking at things i don't know how much but i know i love you yes i do andre you all right isn't it weird as soon as i started singing he was going so see what other messages i've got messages oh that's weird youtube studio oh i know what i'm doing i love you sophie vanessa says i love you i i like being loved thank you very much um thanks jason always helps me relax that's friendly toad well you're very very friendly aren't you

one especially on spotify one will have like 40 30 recordings but another one will have 572 or however many 580 recordings or you can go to my website and the playlist is there and it's for all 500 plus recordings so you you might be on a podcast that's an old one that doesn't go up or um i know some people if they're on youtube they go by what's on youtube but this uh maybe prefer you know videos and stuff which is fair enough but they're um just a message for stephen did i say jason earlier

it i'll have to remember that because have i tried to phone anybody i can use it if someone calls me but i can't actually use it to phone out how strange i'm usually pretty good with that stuff it's only five pound and it's once a month that i upload that i put the five pound from my bank into basically all i do is just put cr the last four digits of my card and the amount that i want to put into or pay you know so cr four numbers whatever they are and then five and
it starts to process it straight away so i'm hoping that you know i'll still be able to get that done tomorrow or early hours of tomorrow yeah get that over and done it's just this is what was that a seagull a seagull yeah um i don't know when the next the next big bill is i need to start getting more prepared for when money's due you know for example i don't know just things you know i'd really like right now as a bird a wimpy i would but you know i'm not supposed to i'm not
supposed to go out i have to go out if i was going there because it's a distance i think we need a transportation system like um a transporter rather than a you know a bus or a train or a helicopter or a car or a plane or what do you think what do you want my stomach's rumbling it's not even so much rumbling it's just you know it just starts to drip like amazing time to just drift off remember to be kind to yourself uh you
