Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland. This is a litany for you to sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

Yeah, I think that's about it. Oh yeah, please subscribe. Please subscribe to this podcast.

That way you will be notified of all future recordings as they are released. And also maybe you'd like to share this podcast episode with your friends on social media. And yeah, here's a message I've got.

It says, I'm not going to give you what context, it's plump and you brag about it all the time. So it must be delectable. I've got some messages.

Let me read out the messages. We've got some comments. Yep.

Okay, here we go. Got a comment from Damon saying, how's his leg? So I was going to put doing better. So I'll go into a bit more detail.

So hi, Damon. He's with his girlfriend at the moment over the other side of the room. And so as far as his leg goes, it's a weird one because I take him out every day, sometimes twice a day.

And I wouldn't go out if it wasn't for him really. So it's probably quite a good thing for me. I'll make sure that he only goes on the grass because if he, which is not what he wants to do, he likes to travel against the sides of stuff like the walls or the railings or whatever.

That's his natural instinct to do that. But in the process, because he's still not using both legs the same, he's dragging that leg, the left back leg, which means it's getting scraped and ends up a bit bloody. I say a little bit.

I mean, I'm constantly checking in. And if that does happen, I pick him up and I bring him home. But when he's on the grass, it doesn't happen.

Fingers crossed. You know, the touch wood. I used to say that when I was a kid, it was a touch wood and it touched my head.

Get off me. Leave me alone. I am not Pinocchio.

Yeah, I know. I get that. And he's basically got two open, not open wounds, but two or three parts of his foot that have been damaged a little bit from the scraping and the dragging along.

So I think it's a case of they haven't got to heal properly. So he reopens them. But he doesn't seem to do that when he's on the grass.

So what I do is I take him to the park and there's quite a few little bits of grass along the way. So I just let him down every bit of grass. And he's struggling and trying to get down because he just wants to get onto the floor.

He doesn't care if it's grass. He'd walk across glass. He honestly doesn't care.

Now, you know, I don't let him do that, obviously. So I've cleared up most of the glass off the floor in the bedroom. So it's hard to tell when he's walking because he's got a tendency of almost dragging himself along anyway on the grass because he likes to just roll around and he, you know, I'm kind of watching him trying to sort of figure out what he's doing.

But from what I can see, he's still using his right foot more than his left foot, but not in the way it was. He's not falling over. He's not having any problem to the toilet.

He's not having, he's not, doesn't look like he's really limping either because it was really obvious before. It was profound or profound. It was, that's the wrong word, but it was profoundly noticeable.

Yes. So now he seems to be, I think he's recovering. I hope, I hope he's recovering.

That's really the update I've got, you know, as far as he goes. I don't, I mean, for me, the worst part of the whole thing, other than him suddenly not being able to walk and not being able to go to the toilet properly, was when he had the sedation and he didn't recover properly. And it took him, it was a good couple of days before he was back, back to being completely annoying.

24 hours before he was sort of being a bit, a bit more himself, but still sleeping a lot. And then suddenly, as soon as he started scratching at the door and hassling me, I knew that he was back. He was sort of back to himself.

When it should have only took two hours. So I've got no idea how much they gave him because I wasn't able to be there. So if I have to take him to the vet again, I want to be there while stuff's going on.

I want to see what's happening, how the vet is treating him, how he's being handled, how he's, maybe that's not possible. I don't know. I'm not an expert, but apparently he was biting the vet.

And I just wonder what was the vet, what was the vet's response to that? Maybe that's why they gave him, maybe they gave him too much sedation. But he's, you know, he doesn't normally bite people. It's not what he's like.

So he clearly was distressed. So maybe the injection, maybe having the injection caused him to get a fiery. And so he started biting, which is kind of natural, I would say, because he's not a dog or, you know, he's not, he's kind of a wild animal really, but he was definitely born wild.

He wasn't like, he wasn't cuddly when he was born. He was just horrible when he was first born. Absolutely vicious.

So they're not like cats or dogs, they're born, you can pick them up. And I know sometimes the cats don't like it when you touch their kittens. So it's too soon, but kittens are so lovely and they're so cute and lovely and cuddly, even when they're little.

He really wasn't, I know he's not a cat, but he just didn't have that same kind of behaviour of a pet. He was wild. So yeah, he seems to say, I'd like to have seen what occurred in the vets, but I wasn't allowed inside.

I wasn't allowed inside the building even. I'll be honest, this stuff is just annoying me now. It's just not this recording, but just the whole, you know, I went to the pet shop yesterday to get some food for him.

And I might have mentioned it, I don't know, but sort of this yesterday, but the lady there said, you're not allowed in. So I went to walk in and said, no, you're not allowed in. So she went, I'm not allowed in.

You're open, aren't you? She said, yeah, you're not allowed in. Since when? 12 weeks. So I'm like, okay.

So that probably is about how long it's been since I went in there because I bought a bulk of stuff. And she said, well, I can get what you want. Now, when I go shopping, when I go to buy stuff, I don't always know what I'm going to get until I get there.

I kind of know stuff by sight. See, I know where people live, but I don't know what number they live at. And I don't know what their address is, but I know where they live.

Does that make sense? I've got, that's often how I do things. So I'm kind of, even with, yeah, just buying something behind the counter. So I know it looks like that's what I want.

I don't know what it's called. And I said, oh, okay. I'm trying to think what it is I wanted because it was whiskers with gravy.

I wasn't prepared to sort of say it. I knew what I wanted in the head and I was going to go and get it and look for it. And she said, she started, another customer came along.

She started talking to her and sort of asking what she wanted. I said, I'm first and next. And she said, what do you want then? I said, whiskers with gravy.

I sort of came out of my mouth. Oh, I did know what I wanted. She went and got that.

And she said, you can go in and pay. Oh, I'm allowed in now, am I? Now that I'm going to pay your money, I'm allowed inside the building. Oh, cool.

Thanks. So I go in. I didn't realize what grump I was until I actually went out yesterday.

And I went in there. There's all these staff just standing around wearing masks. There's about five people inside and the woman outside wasn't wearing a mask.

So the one that actually had contact with the customer wasn't wearing a mask. The ones that were inside that had no contact with anyone were wearing masks. And I go inside and I said, I think the girl beyond the counter wasn't wearing a mask.

And I said, I said, I went to put my mask on. I thought, nah. I said, so I was going to wear the mask, but it seems you don't let me in there.

I'm not going to. So I just put it in a bag. That's a very childish, paperless stuff.

Said hello to one of the blokes in there that is really, really friendly. I said, do you know who I am? He said, that's it. You know, I thought I was until I came in.

I did. I just didn't realize what a grumpy old man I was until I turned up here and told I wasn't allowed to come in. It's just my process was interrupted.

I think that's all it was. And plus I'd just come from the garage and in the garage there's got some milk and some bits and a bloke in there. He just almost like he, I must've honestly, I must've murdered him in a previous life.

He really, really dislikes me. Absolutely. And I don't really know why, but he's been rude to me for ages and ages.

So I've been rude back to him a little bit, not too much. And just whenever I see him, my heart just sinks. Oh, he almost like he sucks the joy out of the world.

One customer at a time. Shut up Andre, will you? I can't believe what he's just done. See what he's just done.

He's run over here with the slipper in his mouth and he's run over to the paper because he needed to go to the toilet and he didn't want to go to the toilet because he was in the middle of doing what he was doing. And he's just done the biggest wee I've ever seen him do. It's like an avalanche.

Massive. So he was holding it in. Oh my goodness, my face is just gushed.

And so yeah, he's really just, it's weird. I've never seen him do that before. Normally he just drops what he's doing and goes to the toilet.

But he was holding the slipper in his mouth going, whoosh, whoosh. Oh, you heard him? All that. And he just did the biggest wee wee in the world.

And I thought he was going to take the slipper back to carry on, but he didn't. He just dropped the slipper on the floor and just walked away and just fell, laid down like a lion.

how strange, wow, so carried away, why don't you, it shows how to work this isn't it, you know, in the middle of something and the bladder suddenly wants your attention and you're thinking oh now, please not now, yep, so I went to the garage again today, my friend wanted to go so I went over there, there's people in the park playing football, taking up the whole of the park so I just walked through them, it's like, I can't, I'm not walking on the pavement, the pathway because that's the place that I can't walk, Andre, you

need to be on the grass, it's just, I think sometimes it's just, maybe I was getting grumpier as I got older, maybe grumpier, yeah I think I would be, sometimes you just want a red Ferrari, I don't like the colour red, I've got to pick it up, what can't you deliver it, but it's free, it's a $650,000 Ferrari, yeah but I've got to travel three miles to collect it, can't you just deliver it, that's kind of, yeah, I've got to work on that, I've got to work on it, I discovered someone online on YouTube called

Prince EA, I think it's Prince EA as in E for Echo, A for Alpha, and he does these motivational videos but they're kind of like rap, more poetry really, but they're really good, yeah, I went online to see what deliveries were available food-wise, just for future reference really, and because just, you know, I live in a place where you can't get deliveries, you can't even get takeaway deliveries, apart from from places that, well I wouldn't want to eat from, you know, I want to get it from a place that I recognize and, you know, I

don't want to go to McDonnie's, I want McDonald's, and so I went to, you know, I went on to Uber Eats, I think it is, and yeah, Uber Eats, all of them put in my postcode, and all of them pretty much said, nope, I put, when don't you do KFC delivery, and they said, nope, you've got peri-peri chicken, like, I don't know what that is, I thought that was a sauce, peri-peri chicken, oh, okay, I've got a couple of messages, let me have a look, Gwen says, do you like Edward Lear stories, the Jumblies, the

Owl and the Pussycat, many others, what about Jack and the Beanstalk, I don't like the Owl and the Pussycat because that's the name of a pub that reminds me of somewhere that I used to live, so I don't like that, don't know if it's sort of the thing, loving your readings, Gwen, thank you, I will look, I will look into that, in fact, did you, okay, all right, thanks, Gwen, I think I got that yesterday, but I didn't read it out, I've got another message from Gwen, been laying awake worrying about the Rapunzel in these

lockdown times, please help me, how long were her locks, what was the lock on the tower made from, all right, too many questions, too many questions, I do not answer questions, I know that some people's hair grows a bit quicker than others, but it grows faster in the summertime, so actually, how old was she, she's not a tree, is she, can't tell someone's age by their hair, it's not like the rings in a tree, and actually, how high was the tower, author, why didn't she call the fire brigade, what about using tied bedding together or

burrowing a ladder, please do help me and help solve this conundrum in your next podcast so I can get some sleep, I do love listening to your gripping stories, well, Gwen, if it sounds like you've already made your own story there, you've answered your own questions, I think, I think I'll just be copying you now, if I did that one, and I will look, I will look, look, look, I will, I haven't had the motivation to do, well, for nearly two days, I didn't have any motivation to do anything, but this morning, I did a

few recordings earlier.

So I think I've done three, four recordings since last night, three this morning. And now I'm doing this one. And I'm thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking of doing a story tonight, sort of in the next hour.

So I've got a message here from, what is it from? Please put your names on these things. Storm. Oh, it does say storm.

Okay. Thank God for Jason. I am a pensioner.

So this is a review left on my website. So thank you. I am a pensioner.

You have saved me from having to medicate every night. I never thought I could fall asleep naturally. I can't afford expensive treatments.

Your whisper hypnosis works wonders. Thank you for uploading new ones. So I don't get bored.

See, not everybody gets bored by me. Thank you, Storm. It's very kind of you.

And if I remember, I might read that out. Here it sounds like he's building a cell or something. Oh, it annoys me so much.

I need to contact that vet and find out what they used. I got a message from Viola and sent me a paper of gift. This money is for Andre.

It is for paying the vet costs for food or other stuff. Thank you so far. Thank you so far for all the nice Andre stories.

Best regards, Viola. Thank you very much. And I will.

How can I reply? No, I have to do it on the app. So I'll figure out. So thank you very much.

That's very kind of you. And I'll put the link on my... What was it? On the headline image, the image at the top of my website. So actually, you can see it says PayPal on there now.

But thank you very much. So I will... What I will do is I will order some food for Andre with that and some vitamin paste as well. So that's what I'm going to do, Viola.

So thank you very much. I'll do that. In fact, I might do that when I've done this.

I have to order on Amazon. So that'll be groovy. Very groovy indeed.

Because I never ever want to go into the shop again. If I can avoid ever going into another shop, I think I'd like to. Who is your twin soul, Lilith? Your twin soul, Lilith.

You don't have one, maybe in your next life. Really? Have you not tried like down your street? Because, you know, soulmates are usually really close, aren't they? Wow. What happened? Did something happen today? Oh, my neighbor.

Oh, little magicket. Oh, he might be listening. My lovely neighbor.

He wouldn't look at a place holding a fishing rod sitting next to a little pond in the garden. And was sitting on a toadstool or something. He was making fun of my beard today.

He said to me, Oh, you look 90 years old. I said, I might look 90. At least I'm not 90.

He said, I'm 74. I said, Yeah, I know. 90 years old.

I don't look 90. People are so ridiculous when they say stuff, don't they? I remember I had a lady that I used to go to college with. And I'd have a haircut.

And maybe have a trim on my beard, have a haircut or something. And she's saying, 20 years younger. That'd be so ridiculous.

I don't look 20 years younger from having a haircut. It's just silly. You look 1000 years younger.

No, I don't. I might look a little bit different. I don't look 20 years younger.

I mean, what if I shaved all my beard off? Just had like completely shaved face would look like a toddler. Like a, like a fetus. No, stop exaggerating.

I think I think some people just don't realize what they're saying is they're just so used to just saying the same stuff. It must be nice to be able to do that. To be able to just be satisfied with what everybody else says.

I think what I noticed is if you meet someone in a different part of the world, a different part of the country. And I've done this in the past, I've met someone in like, wow, stuff that come out was funny. And it's like original.

Wow. Some of the sayings like this person is really creative. Then you go and meet, you go to where they live, and everyone's saying the same things.

It's like, okay. It's like, oh, can't you say something a little bit different? That's all I ask for in life. It's just be a bit different.

Have I got any other messages? Massages? I'm sure I do. Whatever you got. What do I have? What messages do I have? Carrie.

Oh, Carrie sent me a message. Carrie, look what we got. Hi to you and Andre from Chewy.

It's a picture of their dog. Oh, so it's, so that she did start getting out on, getting a new little puppy. Oh, beautiful, beautiful little puppy.

And what other messages do I got? Oh, nothing on the Let Me Boy To Sleep podcast, Facebook page. Although I have had a few more people like the page for some reason. I don't know why.

Why would you, why would you like it? I don't understand at all. What would you do if you're saying the truth? And you try not to walk out on me. Lay in your ears and I'll sing you a song.

And I'll try not to sing out of key. Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends. Oh, I'm gonna cry with a little help from my friends.

If you need anybody, you just need someone to love. If you see anybody, you just need someone to love. I get by with a little help from my friends.

I get by with a little help from my friends. I get by with a little help, I get by with a little help from my friends. Oh dear, what would you do if I hated you, don't be afraid, sick as I am, it's all right.

Did I ever tell you about the doctors I've had over the years? I had a really, really lazy doctor once, like really, everything he did was really slow. And I went to see him during my lunch break when I was working, this was a few years back. And he talked slowly, he did prescriptions slowly, he did everything, examined slowly.

I mean, I like thoroughness, but I also like to get back to work on time. One day he's making some very strange panting noises. Andre, I forget how quickly he goes into a deep sleep.

See, for me to go deep like that, you know, I can't generally do it in seconds, he can just fall asleep instantly. And be snoring and be dreaming and, you know, unless he's doing one of these naughty things. Apparently, the tongue muscles never get tired.

That's what I heard somewhere. That's weird. I just pressed pause there for a second, so I wanted to check he was okay.

He's now in my arms. I said, are you okay, Andre? He said, very well, thank you, Daddy. I do appreciate you, you know, asking after me.

He's very, very thoughtful of you. Why was you making all those weird noises? Were you having a weird dream? Were you dreaming that you had to actually have to do something? For yourself, were you? Were you? Instead of being catered and waited on hand and foot. Little baby.

Give Daddy kisses. You are a good boy, aren't you? Most of the time. Do you want to get inside my... Do you want to get inside there? Have a little lay down.

You can have a cuddle. Yeah? That's a good boy. So he's just climbed inside my car, I think.

And... Anyway, I had this doctor. And he said... Yeah, he... I had... I need a prostate exam. So I had it done during my lunch break.

And I kept looking at my watch. I'm sort of, you know... I'm... I've taken the position. And... So I've got my hands, you know, in front of me.

And I could see the clock. Not the clock, the watch on my wrist. And I'm thinking, I don't know if I'm going to make it.

I don't know if I'm going to get back in time. See, I'm usually quite calm. But in the end, I had to sort of... Not yell at him, but just sort of be quite firm.

And say, listen, doc. Listen, doc. Can you please hurry up? You listen.

You're just like, carry on. Stop, please, please. I had to plead with him.

Please, pull your finger out. Oh dear. It wasn't really worth the effort, was it? Pull your finger out.

I get it. I remember my dad... Sort of had prostate issues. You know, had issues with prostate in the family.

Used to get weird calls from prostates. Phone up, you know, just hang up. Heavy breathing, that kind of stuff.

And I said to my dad, are you going to get your prostate examined? And he said, no. And someone at the dinner table said, well, how do they do that? Is it down your throat? Oh my goodness. It's a genuine, genuine thing.

Do they have to put a thing down your throat to examine it? And my dad said, nope. Where is it then? Are you going to tell me? Nope. Yeah.

Apart from that, the wedding went quite well. It's time to sing along. Dingle dongle ding dong Sing along Dingle dongle do Single dingle dingle bingle wingle Wingle I actually made an introduction music, a little musical thing, for the Let Me Boy To Sleep.

I'm not going to play it to you. It means I have to turn on the other tablet and get it all set up. I did it on iGarage or whatever.

It's a garage band. And I did, it's like a drum, a slow drum, some piano chords, and me singing. It lasts for about 20 seconds, maybe 10 seconds.

But I've yet to figure out how to transfer it from there to where I want it to use it. Because it's not in the correct file format. And even though it's probably really simple to work it out and to figure it out and to convert to the correct file format, I'm very procrastinating at the moment.

Procrastination is definitely my first name. It's not Boris, it's Alexander. It's not Boris, it's Alexander Johnson.

There's problems with people that use the wrong name. Don't, again, not thinking ahead. Not thinking ahead.

Because my my stepmother's father was in hospital and I went to visit him. So I've gone to visit him. This was a few years back.

This is before he died. And he, I know the receptionist is saying, come to see what his name was. And they said, we haven't got any such person here.

I said, well thank you, I am. He's definitely here. They said, no, he's not.

And the ferret is really annoying me today. And so I thought, this is weird. So I phoned up my brother, who's his grandson.

And I said, listen, what's going on? I'm trying, I'm here to visit him. And apparently, according to the receptionist, he's not here. And they said, oh, he said, have you tried using his real name? Because apparently he wasn't under Step-Grandad.

He had a different name. Completely different. He'd been using his middle name pretty much all his adult life, maybe even at school.

But that wasn't his real name, that wasn't his proper name. So when he was in hospital, they automatically used his correct name, his first name, which I don't even remember what it was. Like Robin or something like that.

It might be Boris, that's probably why they didn't use it. Because they didn't want to use Boris. That's an embarrassing name, isn't it? And he, Boris.

I mean, what other Boris's have there been? There's Boris Becker, the tennis player. Boris Yeltsin, who was the the Russian leader, wasn't he? But he was, he was really wasn't he part of the getting rid of the Cold War kind of thing. But other than that, Boris, Boris the, let me Google this because I'm not interested enough to remember it.

Let me have a look. Boris, famous Boris's. I'm just going to put Boris.

Into Wikipedia and see what comes up. People. Boris the first of Bulgaria.

The first Christian ruler of the first Bulgarian Empire canonized after his death. So he turned him into curry or something, I don't know. Boris the second of Bulgaria.

Ruler under, ruler of the first Bulgarian Empire. Buffalo just said the other. Oh, I suppose it's still the first Bulgarian Empire.

Boris the third of Bulgaria. Ruler of the Kingdom of Bulgaria in the first half of the 20th century. They clearly like to name their kids Boris.

Boris and Gleb died 1015. The first saints canonized in Kievan Rus'. Boris was a singer born in 1965.

Pseudonym of a French singer Philippe Donne. Boris Johnson born 1964. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2019 to present.

Again, that's not his real name. It's Alexander. Boris Zhukov stage name for American retired professional wrestler.

So I'm interested, why have they not got like Boris Becker, one of those famous tennis players. Or Boris Johnson. It's an entertainment Boris band, a Japanese experimental rock trio.

Boris, a song, a song from the 1991 album, Ballhead by the Melvins. There's a TV series called Boris an Italian TV show 2007 to 2009. Boris EP an EP by Iezda Urfa and Dr. Boris an Ivorian Ivorian sitcom.

Then other and other. It says Boris crater, a lunar crater. Hurricane Boris disambiguation disambiguation several cyclones in the eastern Pacific.

Boris stones seven medieval artifacts in Belarus and Boris, a tribe of Ady people. How weird. So I think I'm going to do is go famous Boris list of people given name Boris.

OK. This is also Wikipedia list of people. OK.

It's just there's a few here now. Grand Duke Boris Vladimirovich of Russia. Boris Barnett movie film director.

Boris Becker German professional tennis player. On the speed. I do believe Boris Becker was the youngest Wimbledon winner.

But I might be wrong. Oh Boris Franz Becker German former world number one professional tennis player. He was successful from the start of his career within the first of his six major single titles at age 17 including Wimbledon.

17 So he won Wimbledon in 1985 1986 and 1989. So 67 77 87 So yeah 85 So it'd be 17 nearly 18 maybe 18 depends what year what November 67 Yeah. So 17 17 Wow.

So he won What's that? Oh OK He's also a coach as well. So he coaches Novak Djokovic He also won the gold in Olympic Games in tennis Barcelona in 1992 So 1992 1992 1992 So that was 7 years after he won the Olympics and he was one of the top players in the world and he was allowed to play against amateurs and he won? Really?

No That's hard to believe Absolutely ridiculous They're professionals participating in the Olympics It's just silly Absolutely silly Ridiculous Especially something like tennis because in some sports amateurs might have an advantage So an amateur boxer of like a really good you know gold medalist kind of level boxer he may actually win against a professional boxer who's also maybe a former world title holder or you know because of the quickness the speed the gloves are different kinds of gloves the rings are different size and you know they might be also to be possibly younger and have a

lot more experience because amateurs by experience you know regular action because amateurs might be fighting regularly quite you know many times a year like a professional once they get to a certain level they might only fight twice a year maybe three times maybe once but tennis that's ridiculous isn't it like a champion tennis player famous athlete celebrity more babies named Boris were born last year in the UK I wonder if people are ever going to think for themselves I'm not sure wait a minute got to stop this I must clap because that's what I've been

told to clap now got to clap got to clap really no I don't think so let's have a look Boris Becker we've done that Boris Berezkovsky Russian business oligarch Boris Berezovsky it's a Russian virtuosi pianist pianist and Boris Blank that's a Swiss artist and musician Boris Christophe Bulgarian opera singer Boris Storre Lefouillade French professional basketball player I didn't know there were basketball players in France Boris Dlogos house music producer Boris Dvornik Croatian actor Boris Ferlan Slovenian jurist and politician Boris Gelfand Israeli chess grandmaster grandmaster Boris Godunov Tsar of Russian Russia during the 18th, 16th and

17th centuries Boris Grybinshchuk Russian singer-songwriter Boris Grishaev Soviet marathon runner Boris Johnson British Conservative Party politician yeah, there's a lot of Boris is generally not an English name, is it?
