Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Yeah, so it is Friday.
What day is it? Friday the 22nd of May 2020. And yeah, I'm here and I'm groovy. So I've had a couple of messages but I can't remember what they were or where they were.
So I got the keypad or keyboard keypad for my iPad today in the post. So I've got the iPad and I'm paying it over like three years, £32 a month or something, with the same place I get my internet. And I got the the keyboard because the thing about the iPad, this one's supposed to replace a laptop, supposed to replace a laptop and possibly even equal the Macbook.
So I, you know, I thought, yeah, laptop's on its way out, keeps cutting out, keeps crashing, keeps, you know, I had to reset it to default thing and it's not really working properly. It's fairly slow, doesn't pick the internet out very well. I don't know why.
I can't figure it out. So I'm all set now. I've even got a little pen.
I bought, I had to, so I got the keyboard and the pen from the catalogue. So we're paying that off for the next few months. So I'm all set, hopefully.
And it's a 12.9 inch screen. So it's fairly, I think it's the biggest one they do. So, I mean, 12 inches, man, that's about six foot, isn't it? So I'm gonna, you know, I got that through today, the keyboard, added it.
I couldn't, I couldn't figure, the thing with Apple is it's very simple, but at the same time, it's not, if that makes sense. So I added the iPad that I got last week. I've not really used it.
I've looked at it and played around a little bit, but I wanted the keyboard because I want to use it as a laptop. And I want to make videos and do the audio editing on it and all the stuff that I do at the moment on the laptop. But more, because it should be able to have more, more stuff available for me to use, more apps and stuff.
So I put the keyboard onto the pad and it's magnetic, so it sticks really, or the iPad to the keyboard and it sticks to it. And I couldn't figure how it was going to stand up, because it's supposed to stand up like a, like a screen or a laptop. And it just kept going floppy.
Now, it's not the first time I've had to do a floppy thing. And I just thought, well, I can't do it with Viagra, can I? So, but in the end, it was really easy. It was so simple.
So now it's two different settings, whereas it's the screen's further up and the one where it's down a little bit more. So, I went on to Spreaker. And I was really... I didn't expect this.
I thought, okay, well, I didn't expect what I'm about to tell you happened. I thought I'd be able to just go on the internet and just use everything like normal. Went on to Spreaker, only opens in the Spreaker app, which there's certain things I can't do, that I can do on the normal website app, that the website page, which is really annoying.
And one of the things is I can't close the account, which is fine. But another thing is, and I didn't realise I was going to need this, I made a recording earlier, and I saved it to the wrong podcast, which has happened a couple of times before. It's usually when my fingers move a bit quickly, and I press the wrong button.
And it wouldn't allow me to download that on the iPad. So, I couldn't download anything from another podcast on to the... or save it, which is a bit weird, because a class Spreaker, the podcast is like another place where all my stuff is stored. So, if I, you know, so, I don't know what I do.
I can only do it on the... on the laptop, unless there is another way around it. There might, there's always, there's always a way around stuff, I guess, when it comes to the internet. So, yeah, and so I've got that.
And there's a few things I was looking at, from an audio perspective, because there's really good audio apps, audio editing, where I could just equalize the audio, so that it never goes above a certain pitch. Or, you know, so the volume of the recording is limited to how high it can go, or how low, not low, but how high. So, I'll be interested.
And you know what, this is weird. I did research a couple of weeks ago, on YouTube, looking for audio software for the iPad, trying to figure out what can I use, what's going to be useful, you know, going forward for the next few years, what's the best audio editing software. And there's one that came up on quite a few different YouTube videos, as well as online research.
And it was the same one came up as being probably the best. I wrote it down somewhere, but I've lost a piece of paper. And as I say that, I think I can see it on the table.
No, but I wrote it down somewhere. And it's lost. I was trying to find it.
So I could upload it to the iPad and see whether or not it works and test it out for free first before I pay for it. It's like $29 or something. And I'm searching and I'm searching.
And I think, you know, I'm going through the app, catalogue or whatever you want to call it. And I'm putting in audio editing and nothing's coming up. I can't get this.
And then I look online. And it comes up straight. It's like, oh, that's it.
Guess what it's called? And I'm not even joking here. It's called ferret. Or it's got an E on the end, but it's spelled ferret.
F-E-R-R-I-T-T-E, something like that. Or F-E-R-R-E-T-E. But it's basically ferret with an E on the end.
How could I forget that? How could I forget a name like that? Blimey. So I've downloaded it for free and I'm going to test it out. It's just at the moment I'm recording, I'm producing a lot more recordings the last probably couple of weeks than I have done possibly ever, actually.
I'm really sort of putting a lot more energy into producing recordings, producing new content, which means I kind of have less time to learn how to use new software. I've also got a lot of work to do on the website. So there's a lot to do.
That's all I'm saying. There's a lot to do. Oh yeah, I want to say hello and thank you to Rachel for a message that she sent to me a little while ago.
And I, yeah, I think what it is, is because of the statistics, because the stats have gone up, the downloads have gone up so much higher than they've ever been before. It's sort of given me a boost of enthusiasm, I guess, to want to keep that momentum. So, you know, like yesterday, all my troubles seem so far away.
I can't help myself. I always have to do that. Day after day, I'm coughing a lot.
I have to keep pressing the pause button to cough. I've got a bit of a weird cough going on today. So I, not yesterday, I mean, I still class it as the same day, even though it's two o'clock in the morning.
But Wednesday, which is this month, it's just been, or this week, it's been very weird, statistics-wise. And someone said to me, well, yeah, it's going to be busy, isn't it? Because there's a lot of people at home. I like to think it's more than that.
I like to think that people aren't listening just because they're bored and they've got nothing else to do. You know, personally, I feel a bit better if that was the case. If they're listening because they want to listen, not because they've just got nothing else to do with their time.
But this week so far, it's Thursday's not calculated yet. Not properly. But Sunday, 5,832.
Monday, 5,922. Tuesday, 5,334. Wednesday, 6,319.
Thursday so far, 5,649. But that's, it's not properly calculated until tomorrow, till probably the morning, about four, five, six, seven hours, and it'll be calculated. So that problem might be over 6,000.
And now I'm thinking, I want it to be 6,000 every day. It's weird, isn't it? Is that greedy? I don't know. Maybe it is.
Maybe I'm being greedy. Because as it gets to the, once it's got over the 5,000, which now it has, it's comfortably over the 5,000. Now I'm thinking, hmm, 10,000, here I come.
And I was watching this YouTube. I do kind of study this stuff as well, like how to, you know, about podcasts and promotion. Although I don't really do much promotion.
I could, if I paid for PayPal, not PayPal, Facebook ads, I could get a lot more people, I guess, listening. But financially, it's worth doing that if you're selling something. Because they, the theory, again, I don't know how true it is.
But the theory is, if you've got an online shop, and you advertise on Facebook, even if it's not a particularly good ad, you should make $2 for every $1 you spend. And if it's a good ad, or an average ad, $2 for every $1 you spend. And if it's a good ad, it's a pretty good ad, $3.
And if it's a brilliant $4, that kind of, so even if it's not a particularly good advert, just because of the audience that it reaches. So I guess if someone's selling, I don't know, a piano store, or something. And it's a bit random, isn't it? So yeah, so it makes sense.
I mean, if you think about it in a financial situation, you say, well, I'm spending 10 pound, I'm going to make 20. Yeah, I'm going to make 10 pound for every 10 pound I spend on a very basic advert that isn't particularly good. I'd like to think that I'd be able to put together a fairly decent ad with a bit of study in it, you know, find out what the best way to do is.
However, you know, all that kind of small margin is like, oh, it's a lot of work. But for someone that's got 1000s of pounds to spend, so for every 10 grand, they get another 10 grand back. And if they've got that kind of money, they're going to be probably paying someone to do the advertising for them.
So they're going to be getting good adverts made. And if it really is that guaranteed, again, I've watched a lot of videos that say it is and some people, you know, some people say, you know, you make millions in the first week and like, I don't care. I don't like watching videos like that, because they're just offering false, false dreams, you know.
I mean, some people will make a lot of money. If they've got the right thing to sell. I mean, none of this really applies to me, because I've got nothing to sell.
But I like the idea of growing the audience. So I might look into, look into Facebook ads in the future. And I've done a little bit of Facebook adverts in the past, but very, very minimal, just, you know, a tiny, tiny amount, really.
Just like a few days worth of advertising. In fact, I've still got money, I've got like 30 pounds still on in Facebook, in the Facebook ads. No, I haven't.
That's Spreaker. It's not Facebook, it's Spreaker that I did. That's right here.
I promoted the recording on Spreaker about a year ago, just for a couple of days. I don't know if actually, I don't know if they just put it, I don't know how they promoted it. I'm not sure.
I had an idea to set a target for myself to write my first book by the time I'm 50. So that'll be August. So literally three months, pretty much to the day, it'll give me to write the first book.
No pressure. I quite like the idea of writing one book a month. But, you know, I'd like to be able to walk through walls and become invisible and be nine foot tall.
But why not? Nine foot tall wouldn't really be a good height, would it? No, I think a good height would be six five. That would be a nice height. That's what I'd like.
Maybe six six, six eight. I'd like to be a foot taller. Five, five, eight, six, eight.
Yeah. I'd like one, two, that's not even a lot though, is it? You think one, two, three, four, five, eight, six, eight. It's only one foot.
You wouldn't think it'd be that much more. So if I'm already nearly like five, five foot plus eight. So it's one, two, three, four.
So a foot would only be like from my foot to from the bottom of my my heel to probably the top of my calf. It's not like a big distance. Yet tall people seem to be so tall.
And that was a boring sentence. Tall people seem to be so tall. So what I've got coming is I've got a microphone coming that will be, I'm going to put that, plug that into my phone and when I'm actually making a recording, my plan is to transcribe it at the same time on the phone or at least give it a go, see if it's possible.
So I'll have two lapel microphones. It's going to be weird. And then I might get, I don't know, I thought about getting, I thought about filming myself during my videos, but it's not a good idea.
I just, it's not. Because to do it, I need to get some lighting, proper lights to sort of brighten up the area. I could do it from here, have the lights in front of me, sit in this chair and record it on the audio, film it and then mix it together.
But I find video distracting. Seeing myself distracts me from what I'm doing. It really does.
I like to be able to just close my eyes, feel comfortable in whatever I'm wearing so I don't have to dress up smart or, you know, I can wear a t-shirt covered in gravy if I want. I mean, admittedly, it does mean, does involve sort of making some gravy up and pouring over myself. But, you know, if that's what, if that makes me feel comfortable, that's what I like to do.
On camera, that's not particularly ideal. So my plan is to make some videos, but with graphics. And I'm going to do that on the iPad using iMovie, I think, and then work on that.
And I'm just going to sort of figure out how to do it. I'm in no hurry. I'll still continue as I'm going.
And then once I've figured out how to do it and make it nice, then I'll do that. And then maybe once a week, I'll make a video on camera, like a one-off once a week, something, I don't know, like a relaxation session or something like that, maybe. And but the rest of the time, every recording I do will be also uploaded as a video, but with like a swirl, swirling wheel or something on the screen, but with my voice in the background.
Well, not in the background, in the foreground, really, forefront, foreground. The sound will be my voice. My voice.
And yes, there's quite a lot going on. Really, there's quite a lot trying to get going. I've managed to do this Sleep Hypnosis Weekly one.
I did that last night. So that's good. And that's one of the ones I struggle with getting done, because it's only once a week.
I'm quite, I'm a little bit better at doing stuff that's regular. It's every day. Because I can kind of get myself around that.
Doing these ones is, it's almost become a routine. I think it probably is a routine for me now. Part of my daily routine is to make one of these, let me bore you to sleep recordings.
And so it's, you know, I'm trying to get into the routine of doing a deep sleep, whisper ones every day. But the issue with that is I need to find somewhere quiet. And you know, but these relaxation for stress and anxiety ones, I've been really putting quite a bit of effort into making more of those.
So there's, you know, there's me, it's like all the different versions of what I do on there. So yeah, I'm quite pleased with how that's going. So yeah, it's all kind of, it's all coming together.
It's all coming together. It's, I just know, I just don't know where it's going. But it doesn't matter really.
It's, the thing is in order to, you know, in order for me to earn a living doing something, you know, I need to earn a living at some point. I've still got, what have I got, probably 19 years before I can retire, officially retire with a government pension. And even then, I don't know if there will be a government pension in 19 years time.
So I have to be something like 68 and I'm now 49. So 19 years is a long time to be, to not have any money. It's a long time.
So if I can convert, turn this into a business, but without charging for it. So not, you know, still have all the free stuff, but then have a book for sale, or maybe have some CDs or a course, you know, a special course that people can download. I don't know.
It's just something to, I mean, as far as doing an MP3 to sell, if I did a relaxation recording, who'd want to download it and pay for it when you've got hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of relaxation sessions that you can choose from already on the website and on the podcasts. And the fact is, I'm not going to put any more energy into something that I'm going to sell because I put everything into the recordings anyway. When I make a recording, not these ones, because I mess around in these ones, but with the, I'll put a little bit of a bit of effort.
But with, so let's say I do a relaxation session, I just, you know, I put work into it. I don't mess about. I really do try and do my best at whatever it is.
And I don't think I could do that in a recording studio. So even if someone says to me, Oi Jason, over here, shush, don't tell no one. I'm going to pay for you to professionally record a relaxation session.
And you can, don't worry about the cost of it. Can I send you to a professional recording studio? You have three hours there. And yeah, I'd probably say yes.
Well, I've been to recording studio in the past. So I've made professional recordings and or paid to have them done, you know, edited and all that stuff. And I thought I could do a better job now than what was done on the recording studio.
But I can't, how am I supposed to be myself sitting in some random room? I mean, in this place, there wasn't even, I always thought recording studios would be, there'd be someone behind the glass on all the equipment. And you'd be the other side where the instruments are, a microphone stand, you know, stuff like that. This wasn't, I was in a completely different room.
In fact, I think I was downstairs and he was upstairs and there's no stimulation. There's no, I mean, for me, I've, when I'm, let's say I'm doing these recordings, Let Me Boy The Sleep Ones, I've got my punch bag over there. I've got my telly over there.
I've got me big, big pig money box that's got no money in it. I've got me black, dirty, worn out chair that's there and my table and me curtains and me, me bookcases and the, I've got the soundproof pads on the walls. This is my living room.
And I feel comfortable here. If anything, this, what I look at prepares me, prepares my mind for doing this, prepares me to be able to talk. I'm not saying that I couldn't talk without being here because that would be a little bit unusual, I guess.
But it's definitely an environment that I've built for myself that fits with this. If I go and sit in another place and think, oh, I'm going to make a recording, I could, and I have. I've made recordings on lots of different places.
I've never felt relaxed the way I do when I make these kinds of recordings because this is my home. I've got my little boy asleep over there. I hope he stays asleep.
And I've got the equipment that I need to use here and everything's kind of works out fine. And I can do it all myself. I don't have to rely on other people to do the editing or to slot me in to their timetable.
I did a website myself, so I haven't got anyone else to do that. So it sort of works for me. Apart from the finance aspect, everything else kind of goes together quite well.
It's not sustainable, I don't think, for any huge length of time to be continuing to do this in this way, like completely living on sort of basic stuff. And so what I'll do is I'll write that book and then start to look at some other ways. And the plan really is just build an audience.
I can always add adverts to the podcasts, but I don't because a lot of people don't like them. And I can make, well, thinking about it now, probably make $500, $600 a month from the podcasts, from the adverts, which is that's based on 6,000 a day, 6,000 downloads a day. So I'd say at least $500 a month, if not more, which is not a bad little start.
But it really annoys people. I mean, so I kind of think, well, no, I'll keep the adverts off. And I put them on for about an hour today.
And I thought, no, I'm just like, because I do actually want to see with the stats at the moment with the amount I'm getting, I'm just interested to see how much I could make from the podcast adverts. I say make, but how much could I get coming in? Just out of an interest, really. But I took them off because I see it annoys people.
And I'm not really here for that. Now, if the adverts were worth like 10 grand a month, then I would, it would be worth contacting the individual people that were annoyed and just say, listen, or set up a special podcast just for them, you know, so they could listen without having the adverts. But it's okay.
I'm just, I'm going to continue just doing what I'm doing. I want to see, I want to see the, yeah, I want to see the stats rise. I want, my target for this year was to have 10,000 downloads a day by the end of this year.
And I started the year off with probably 3,000 downloads a day, between three and yeah, three, over three. It was never really, hardly ever went below 3,000. And now it's, you know, it doesn't seem to go below 5,000.
So yeah, I know I keep talking about the stats, but it's important to me. It's important to me. But it's not the only thing, but it is the only thing.
It's not the only thing, but it's all there is to me. It gets me out of bed. It really does.
I mean, I get out of bed. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is I want to check the stats. I want to see if what I'm doing is, if there's any point to what I'm doing.
Because the only reason that, the only way to find that out is by seeing the numbers. See, if it was a business, I'd be looking at the sales receipts, wouldn't I? That's what I'd be looking at. How much have we sold? How much money's in the till? How much money has been taken on the credit cards? And how much have we spent? How much have we got coming in to see what kind of profit there is? So every day, if I had a business and a shop, and maybe I wasn't there in the evening, but I'd be getting up every morning trying to sort of figure out what kind of day it's been.
And if we're, you know, it'd be exciting from that perspective. So this is a similar thing, but just without money involved. It's really just to do with, I need to reach that 10,000 just for me.
It's a personal, I wanted to reach 10,000 by the end of last year and I didn't get anywhere near, but that was my plan. That was what I wanted. But this year I really want it.
Really want it. You know, so I want to see if I can get there and I'm willing to work and do what's needed and put the energy in. And that's without really doing any promotion.
It's just the grafting of making, it's not really grafting, but the work of making recordings and then the editing, uploading, sharing. And, you know, it's a lot of, it takes hours and hours of of time to do all that stuff. And then sort of putting it onto the website and blah de blah de blah.
So maybe, yeah, I quite like it. It's really taken my focus. It's really grabbed my attention the last, the last couple of weeks really.
Ever since I had that brain fart and I got rid of a lot of stuff and basically partly destroyed the website and then had to rebuild it. That's not all, it's not all rebuilt yet, but it's nearly there. And then that sort of, well, I decided to re-upload a lot of the podcasts, even though I'd also destroyed, I got rid of most of my podcasts.
I got rid of about 20. And so at one point I was thinking, I don't know if I'm going to get a thousand downloads a day. I might have lost a lot of people, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
It just went completely the opposite way. So, you know, I'm grateful for that. But I'm working, you know, I'm doing, I'm not just sort of making one recording a week and just sitting back.
Come on then. Listen to me. And I do different things as well.
So that's quite cool. See, this is very chilled out. It's just chilled out, groovy.Me, you, Molly, Rachel, Susan, Natalie, Boston Chickie, Jen. Have I said everyone? I'm not, I can't, I can't say everyone. I don't know everyone, do I? But let's have a look.
Let me do some reading, some people. Barangary. Oh man.
Do you know the lady that did the sleep recording? Barangary, Barangary. She let her do a deep sleep whisper recording and put it on my podcast. I didn't let her do the recording.
She did that, but I, you know, I put it on my podcast. And she's just been a post that she's put. I went out determined to run further than I'd done before, but tripped and fell spectacularly after 2K.
The adrenaline kept me going and I ran 15K. Time for a hot bath and a glass of wine, I think. Grand, Grand Junior.
Wow. She's busted herself up. She's got a picture of her leg, her face is all cut, her legs all cut open and her shoulder, but she kept running.
Wow. She says I was advised to scrub the wounds with a nail brush to get all the dirt out and reduce scarring. I used a clean toothbrush instead.
It sounded gentler. My shoulder was the most painful to scrub. I'm okay though.
I might be a bit sore in the morning. The fall went slow, but there was nothing I could do to stop it. At least I'm not Jason.
What? I can't, that's rude. Blimey, after all that, at least I'm not Jason. Wow.
Well, I hope you're okay. Whatever it was. I had to, let's have a look.
So I got to say hello to Joanne, Kissy, John Kelly, Linda. Hi Linda. So who else am I going to do? I'm going to say, I've already said hello to Barangary, Jodie.
Hello Jodie. Leticia, Mary, Anna, Susan, Tyner, Bethany, Rhianna, Kerry, Rachel, Laurie, Katrina, another Susan, Judith, Georgie, Helen, Linda again, Donna, Lisa, Alisa, Jen, Molly, and Kissy. So there's some people I want to say hello to, that have liked some things.
And who else? Oh, what was that? Someone's getting angry. M. P. Duff. If I'd got more foodie, I think I could put on all nighter.
I'm starving, and I had a fish all day. Oh, please don't tell me what's on my mind. I'm a little mixed up, but I feel fine.
I know I was, I know I did my best. It's a little picture. It's a rose, by any other name.
It's a rose, but it's a yellow rose. Beautiful picture. Lovely colour.
Really nice. I like roses, they look nice. But I think I prefer roses that are not red.
Because red, it can be a little bit, the colours, I just find it with the yellow one. You can see it more in detail. I think the colour opens up to be able to, opens up for inspection more.
You didn't realise there's a connoisseur of flowers, did you? I like flowers. There's a lot of, there's a lot of adverts on here, which I'm surprised at, because so many of them are aimed at editing, like video editing and audio editing. And I'm thinking, really? It's like, it's almost like they know that I need that stuff, or that I'm looking into it.
I spoke to my stepsister. Is it stepsister or sister-in-law? My brother's sister, my brother's wife. Anyway, it was her birthday.
So I phoned her up, said happy birthday. She said, she said, oh, thank you. I said, yeah, I said, I didn't get you a present or a card.
But what I did is I washed my hands, because apparently that's the best present to give anyone. She hung up on me. Brilliant.
There's a thing, it says my new social distancing shoes have arrived, and they're about, well, about six foot long feet. So I, well, it was weird. My, my step, I said, my sister, my stepsister, whatever, she, she told me that her, her mum and her dad both came over to see her, but stood the other side of the garden, so they didn't come in.
They've got like a garden, a front garden, but it's quite big, or back garden or something. So they both individually came and sort of wish her happy birthday. Hadn't seen them for about six weeks and couldn't come in.
And as she was saying that, I was just thinking, okay, you don't have to go on, don't you? I only phoned up just to say happy birthday. No, I didn't. I said, I thought, I know people that aren't, aren't doing that.
They're going in and out of each other's houses and all kinds of stuff and families that are going, you know, getting together. And I'm thinking, oh, yes, you know, it's like these, she's got a little kid who's about just over a year old. So her grandparents haven't been able to sort of see her for, for a big chunk.
They're worried that she'll forget, forget, she'll forget them because it's a long time for a baby, isn't it? It's a long time for a little kid to not see a grandparent. I mean, so it's weird. But the thing is, I suppose she couldn't, because she's, she's like a healthcare worker, nurse-y kind of thing.
So she's, she has to be really careful not, not sort of be around other people. When she is, she has to wear protective equipment and stuff. Otherwise she's going to go home.
And my niece has got, well, her immune system has had an issue. She was born with, we're still not quite sure what it was, but she spent the best part of the beginning of last year in hospital because of, I forget what it was. It was to do with something.
It was very, very poorly, very poorly. And it's just, I don't know. It's just a shame.
That's another reason I wish I kind of, it's times like this I wish I had money and I could say, look, because she has to go to work. They both have to work because mortgage and all that stuff. And because she's on the front line, as it were, she's going to care homes and stuff like that.
She, she can't just take time off. But at the same time, she, you know, it's, it's dangerous. And it's just, I wish I could just say, look, here's some money.
I mean, you know, I wouldn't give the money to her. I'm just saying, I wish I had the money that I could give to her and then I could spend it on myself. That's what I'm saying.
Blimey, what do you think I am? Kind? No, no kindness here, my friend. I'm very selfish. Gwen, that's it, Gwen as well.
Hi, Gwen. And she said she's a redhead, not ginger. And I'm just trying to think of some people that left me messages.
And to remember to mention them. But I can't remember everybody. John, I think sent me a message.
Thanks, John. I haven't been on my YouTube page, because I've forgotten what the email address is. And because I reset the laptop.
So there. Honestly, I don't know what the email address is. Oh, no, how am I going to get back on there? Luckily, my speakers attached to it.
You know, it's got the connection so that I can post the recordings onto YouTube. But I don't know how to do it myself. I'll figure a way.
I can get on there on my television. So yeah, there's got to be, there's got to be a way out. There has to be a way, isn't it? Because I've never done it.
I just didn't know what it is. But I will. I will.
I will. I will. I will.
I will. I will. I will.
I will. I will. I will.
Yes, I will. Yes, I will. So, yeah, that's it.
Not really much really going on. I didn't go out. Apart from taking Andre for a walk.
I took him out today. I didn't go out anywhere else. But I was busy.
And yeah, so what did I do? I did a sleep recording, deep sleep whisper recording. At some point, I did one too. I don't know.
I made a few recordings yesterday. So that's good. It's almost like a full-time job, in a sense of it could be a full-time job.
To run this is a full-time job, if it was a business. But it's not a business. So I can have, if I decide to not do anything for two weeks, I can.
If it was a business, I wouldn't have that luxury, would I? I just have to keep plodding on and creating new stuff, even though perhaps I wasn't in the mood. But I don't make recordings unless I'm in the mood for it. In fact, sometimes I'm in the mood for it when it's not really available for me to do.
What does that remind me of? Every relationship I've ever had. Sometimes I want to make a recording, but someone will be in the garden or one of the neighbors whispering louder than a helicopter. And it was just, I can't do anything with that in the background.
It's summer now, people are out and some people are just really, really loud. For some reason, I don't really know. And then there's the really generous people that like to share their music with everybody.
And so, yeah, daytime is not always a great time to make recordings, hence why I'm up at night. But then when I am awake during the day, because I tend to sort of wake up, I'm usually up by about two. I'll be going to bed earlier.
I'm normally in bed by about five, instead of like 8.30 before, a few weeks back. Now I seem to be going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. So I'm just sort of, I want to make recordings, I want to do something.
But I can't when this, you know, I need to get some lights for the shed. So maybe once there's lights in there, I'll feel a bit more comfortable sitting in there. And it's very hot though, which is, I guess, partly my fault for building on a volcano.
I don't know, it just seems very hot. And, you know, and I can't sit in there without a top on because what am I going to, where am I going to clip the microphone? I'll clip it onto my nipple. No, it doesn't fit, doesn't stick.
It's, um, dear Jason, will you please stop talking about your nipples? Okay. Okay. So yeah, I was gonna, I'm feeling quite strong physically lately.
I think it might be because I've been spending a lot more time on the punch bag. Not so much today, but, you know, it's, you know, maybe 10, 10 times a day, I'll go on there for a little bit. So that's quite nice.
But I still need to work on slimming down my tummy. Because even though I can feel the muscles in my stomach now, a lot more than I could before. And it's probably because of the upper body workout from punching the punch bag, and the twisting and all that stuff.
I still look like center. So it's, it's not, you know, I think it may be I'll feel better if I lost it. If I, if I, if I reduced my waistline, I might feel physically healthy.
I don't know. I'm not sure how it works. But I don't want to feel weak, though.
You know, I don't want to, I kind of don't want to lose any of the, I think the only part of my whole body that I'd like to lose any weight from would be my tummy. That'd be it. My legs are fine.
I don't have fat legs or fat. I've got ankles. I mean, blimey, my ankles.
But that's why most people have got ankles, got knees as well. But I got quite, well, I ain't got, I don't think I've got necessarily skinny legs, which is like average size thighs. And, and so it is really, I mean, I've talked about this before.
I don't know about my bum. I can't see it. Generally don't know.
I don't know when I'm walking down the street and people are thinking, I don't know what they're thinking. They might not be looking at my bum. They might be looking at my bum thinking, oh, that's juicy.
I'd like to bite that. Or they might be thinking, looking at my bum and thinking, we should move out of the way so we can see that building. So I don't know.
Who knows? We should move out of the way. We should move off the beach so we could see the sea. See the sea.
It doesn't really work when the sea is twice in the same sentence. Even though it meant two different things. Spelled the same.
No, it isn't spelled the same. It's C-S-E-E-S-E-A. Yeah.
I'd also like to say a big stay safe to my Brazilian listeners as well, because I've been watching on the news and things are not looking great at the moment with what's going on. So stay safe, keep well, sending lots of love to you all. And I sound like I've got this big world audience and millions of people.
I have a world audience of thousands, but not millions. But one day it will be millions. One day, one day.
By the time I'm 84, I think I will be, I might be one of those people that I reckon I could be when I'm maybe 55, I'll suddenly become an overnight success. And people will be like, oh, who's this bloke? Who's this old man? But he's quite good and going around doing talks and telling people that they also can be okay and get on with their life. And there is always a chance for anyone of any age to make a difference and to change their life and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I could be an overnight success. Yeah. So how long did it took me to get there? 21 years.
21 years of doing this stuff online to become an overnight success. Or if you go from the start all the way back to 1998, 98, 2008. Yeah.
It's quite a while, isn't it? Was it 21 years so far? Is that right? 98, 2008, 2018, 19, 20, 20, 22 years. Or maybe this is the 23rd year that I've been, since I've been studying hypnosis. Hypnose eyes, not ears.
Oh no. So yeah. It's all about me.
It's all about me, baby. It's all about me. I'm thinking, I'm thinking of writing some poems and reading out a poem.
Yeah. That was, that was the whole, that was it. That was the whole story.
Okay. Let's recap. So you're thinking about writing a poem and you're going to read out the poem.
That's it. That's the whole story. Can't you spice it up a little bit? No, I'd like to just, don't like making stuff up.
I just want to be to the point and, you know, give the information correctly. Correctly. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Now then you're going to make a friend of me, aren't you? Yeah. So it's all good. I think everything's okay.
I've got a lot of recordings to make. I was thinking of doing the sleep hypnosis weekly and converting it into sleep hypnosis daily, after daily. So I don't know.
I have to, it's a big, it's a big jump and it's a commitment. I think I need to be able to do the Deep Sleep Whisper ones daily first, before I make that commitment of doing the sleep hypnosis, the sleep hypnosis daily recordings, or to convert the sleep hypnosis weekly to sleep hypnosis daily. But part of the reason for doing that is because I've got an audience there.
And it may be a different audience to what I've got anywhere else. And there's a big surge of people listening whenever I release new recordings. So I'm thinking, if I did one every day, you know, that's another thousand or so downloads a day.
It's all about the downloads, you know, it's all about the blooming downloads. Also, it's almost like I'm becoming business minded about something that isn't a business. That's strange.
I think it's because, probably because of all the, I don't know, it's the motivational tapes and stuff that I listen to, sort of is getting me pumped up to, I just do my best, I guess, just to try and be successful. And for me, success is an audience. That's all it can be judged by, isn't it? You know, the success of a restaurant is people coming in and eating and coming back.
It doesn't matter if people don't come back, if the restaurant's full again, the next night and the next night and the next day. But ultimately, you want people to come back. And as with like television programs and stuff, so yeah, it's all down to audiences.
Well, I found weird, not weird, but there's a really famous, I forget his name now, but he's, I think he's the boss of the MMA. And he's got a really popular podcast and stuff like that, he's on YouTube. And apparently he's got a hundred million dollar contract for his podcast.
Hundred million dollar, I don't know over how long that period that is, hundred million dollars for a podcast. And his podcast is one of the top ones in the world. But on the internet, his podcast is up there with, he's one of the most popular ones on the internet.
But I was just like, wow, a hundred million. That's quite a bit, isn't it? That's a more than a mouthful, more than a mouthful. It's a lot, I'm telling you.
It's just, if it was a sandwich, you'd have to take a few bites, wouldn't you? It's a really weird analogy. Yeah. Yeah.
I had a friend who used to do that. He used to do like active listening. He'd nod.
I knew him really well. And I knew that all he was doing, he was waiting to speak. Inside he was thinking, can you please stop talking so I can say what I want to talk about.
Even though it's got nothing to do with what you're talking about, it's going to be a different subject. I'd always pull him up. You're not listening, are you? Because he wasn't listening.
He didn't hear what I was saying. So what did I say? You said you weren't listening, were you? Just because you could tell me what I said, doesn't mean that you were listening. Why ask me what I just said then? That's a good point.
That's a good point, actually. Yeah. Why do people do that? I don't know.
Why are you asking me? I don't know. Don't know much, do you? I had someone say that to me once in a work that I've worked at. In a work that I've worked at.
Kept asking me questions. I didn't have the answers to the questions. And because I'm not a blagger, and I just make stuff up, what I do, but I mean, not in a work environment.
Because I don't just like make stuff up. It got annoyed with me. You don't know anything.
Is there anything you know? Which was a little bit rude. I said, yeah, I know where your mum keeps a vibrator. Dear Jason, I was just getting to sleep.
I was enjoying the very friendly, family friendly rambles. And then I heard you say the word vibrator. I'm very, very disappointed in you.
There's no need for crudity. If you can't make people laugh with friendly, family friendly humour, then I suggest you go elsewhere. I won't be listening again.
Because I'm offended. I choose to be offended. And I'm going to be offended on behalf of other people.
They don't even know who you are, and will never listen to you. But I'm going to get offended on their behalf. Because I'm so woke.
So what? I'm woke, I am. Yeah. So, it's a lovely, thanks for listening, everybody.
It's been a lovely experience. Oh, yeah. So thanks for listening.
Remember, remember to be kind to yourself, because you do deserve to be happy. You do. Lots of love.
I will speak to you tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
Bye.
