Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name's Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep, which is amusing me for some reason. Please only listen to this when you can safely close your eyes. And please subscribe to this podcast, wherever you're listening to it, so that you can be notified of the new releases.
I generally make one every day, but yesterday, yesterday evening about 7 o'clock, so kind of, yeah, about the same time as now really. It's six o'clock now in the evening or afternoon. Is 6pm, six o'clock afternoon or evening? It's kind of both, isn't it really? When does the evening start? Is it seven o'clock? Anyway, so I'm doing this at a time when I could be disturbed and that is exactly what happened yesterday.
Seven o'clock, half seven something, big bang at my door, rat-rat-rat-rat-tat-tat. And not quiet, but proper banging on the door knocker, which I'm going to glue shut. So there's a door knocker thing, you know, one of the things that you bang, but you bang the knockers, you know, you bang it basically.
And then there's the door, there's the letterbox, which is separate. Well, I'm going to glue it shut. I'm going to glue it together so people can't do that anymore.
It's too noisy. So they'll need to just knock on the actual wooden door itself, you know, with their tootsies, their little fingers, and it will make less sound. So I heard it, I thought, I wonder who it is.
So what I did while I was recording, and I've got to stop myself doing this because it's the second time I've done this. And I'm getting a little bit, a little bit, um, I don't know what the right word is. Adventurous, careless, I don't know, where I've started reading emails while I'm making a recording and, you know, kind of using other things which could sort of jar the recording.
Anyway, I went on to the, to see if someone had phoned me, but they hadn't. But I managed to phone them by accident, pressed the phone button. It jarred, because I'm recording this on my iPhone, it jarred or stuck, whatever you want to call it, the recording.
So I couldn't do anything with it, couldn't continue recording. I basically lost the recording. I'd say I was probably about 40 minutes in, maybe 35 minutes in.
And you could hear, you know, it was like, urgh. So, and then a door caught banging again, like rat-tat-rat-tat-tat-tat. And it was one of my neighbours asking me for some food.
So, it's good that I answered. So I've got an elderly neighbour who's about the same age as my dad. And he doesn't like being called elderly, but hey, you know, he's older, he's early 70s.
Which probably isn't elderly, I don't know what the right term is. But anyway, I try and look out for him a little bit. And so, you know, I got him some bits of food.
He came in and I said, get out now, I'm doing a recording. I didn't say that, but I did, but not in that way. And then eventually he left.
And he, I came back and the recording was jammed. So basically I couldn't continue. I was trying to get him out of the flat as quick as possible so that I could continue the recording with a bit of memory of what I was talking about, you know, so I could kind of continue it.
Because I am able to pause the recording. So if someone was to knock on my door now, I would pause it. I'd probably make a loud noise into the microphone.
Then I would pause it. I'd answer the door, get rid of them, and then come back, continue the recording. And then in the editing, I could see the marker.
The marker would be me making the loud noise. So I could just go back and edit out the knocking of the door, which is kind of the process I have. It's a bit of a shame.
It's, I suppose on some levels, well, I'm getting people knocking on my door. Even if they are asking for things. But I suppose it's a nice thing.
I don't know. But it's left me in an awfully bad mood, though, really. I don't like making recordings and losing what I've talked about.
Because that was quite a good recording, actually, because I was talking about some, not serious stuff, but, you know, I was kind of opening up a little bit about me life. And, yeah. So, yeah.
And then, so I basically just left it. And I've been in bed all day. Well, I woke up, I was in bed at night and all day, and just been in a really weird place the last few days.
And this downstairs has been, I don't know who was down there today. It might be the lieutenants, it might be people cleaning it, the council. But not on a Sunday, it wouldn't be the council.
So I guess it would be, I imagine it would be the, maybe family or whatever. But they were just letting the door slam continuously. I was trying to sleep.
I just hope that whoever moves down there doesn't do that. Because it shakes the building, it shakes my flat. It says they're really heavy.
The doors got replaced in my flat, the front doors. See, downstairs, the girl downstairs that passed away, she had a new door put on probably, I don't know, probably a couple of months after moving in. After I'd moved in, rather.
And she'd only been here for a few weeks before me. And then the person opposite her had their front door done, I think last year. Or, no, not last year.
My friend, another one person downstairs had their front door done either last year, about two years ago. And then another neighbour downstairs had their door, the new door put on, last year. But it was the same week as mine.
Yet they didn't do it in the same day. Actually, it was a different week, but it didn't come the same week, even though it's the same building. And then I had mine done.
And they purposely make them so that they slam shut, because they're fire doors. So if you don't close them quietly, they slam. But really, you can hear the echo, because we're in the hallway and it just... And luckily, two of the people don't slam their doors.
Unfortunately, one's now not living there, so she's... I don't know who's going to be moving in and whether they're going to be slamming the door or not. But the other one doesn't slam her door. There's only kind of one person that... And even that person doesn't do it as much as they did.
Now, so mine slammed a few times, because just by accident. So easy to do, especially when you've got a little ferret. And I can't... You know, he runs out.
Sometimes I'll open the front door and he'll just... He'll leg it and try and escape. So I'm going after him. The door slams.
And I have to catch him. But I also have to be careful the door doesn't slam on him, because he could get hurt. In fact, it would hurt him, I think.
Although I did shut the door on him a couple of weeks ago. I didn't realize he was there. Because there's no light in my hallway.
There's a light in the hallway, but there's no light without turning the light on. So sometimes during the day I don't turn the light on. Because I've got a little bit of light coming from the rooms, you know.
The daylight from the kitchen and stuff. So I can kind of see my way around. But I was... I don't know what I was doing.
I think this must have been... Yeah, I think I was collecting my mail. Because I had a little period when the post person... Postal service person was leaving my letters on the floor outside my front door. Not putting them through the letterbox.
Because it took a little bit of effort. Because it was a brand new door. The letterbox is a little bit stiff, you know.
And it doesn't hurt your hand or anything. And I don't know if they were worried there's a dog in there or that there isn't. But Andre cannot reach the letterbox.
Because they're not going to get eaten by a ferret. So I don't quite know what was going on. And I was thinking... I was going to complain to the post office.
If it continued. And I'm not sure if I did or not. Not complain.
But I was... Before doing that I was going to put a letter. A sign on the door saying please put post through the letterbox. You know, the letterbox.
Named. Because that's where letters go through. And I'm not sure if I did that or not.
I might have done. But the... I've not had any letters left on the floor for probably about three weeks now. Two, three weeks.
But it got to the point where I was just opening the door every day just to check. Because there's a lot of dodgy people around here. That would... It'd be a bit silly to try and steal my identity because I have nothing.
There'd be no point. There's nothing for them to take. And so ultimately if they stole my identity it just meant that they'd be able to get no credit.
And they'd be blacklisted and be... You know, so there'd be... It'd be a downward move to try and steal my identity. So I'm not really that bold about that. But it's still the principle, isn't it? It's private, isn't it? Your mail.
The only thing I ever... Yeah, the only mail I really get is Bill's. He comes and collects them once a week. Bill's my friend.
So I sometimes get postcards from my friend that I used to live with when I was in a Buddhist community. And he was lovely. He's kept in contact with me.
It's weird, really, you think about it. It's 13 years since I moved out of there. Wow.
13 years. I get very nostalgic. You know what I had the other day? I had this dream.
I've been thinking about this lady. At the time, I probably would have called her girl because she was about 22, 21, 22. I was about 31, 32.
I don't know. But she was working in my place when I worked at Churchill Insurance. And she was new.
She'd just started working there. And they were constantly taking new people on. They had quite a big sales drive, employment drive, rather, for the sales department.
So we were really expanding. It was very nice energy, actually, when a company is taking on new staff, providing they're not replacing you. It's not so bad.
We're taking on lots of new people. But unfortunately, you're going to have to go, Jason. So, and there was this… I don't even remember her name, to be honest.
But she just stood out to me. Like, wow. I really, really fancied her straight away.
I didn't talk to her, though. While I was working on my desk, on my table, she was on the trainee table. Or, yeah, I'm not sure.
I think it was a trainee table. However, during the break time, I think a couple of days in, she started talking to me. She actually came up to me and started talking to me.
And said, oh, do you want to come? And she gave us a talk and said, oh, do you want to come? Talked to me that time. Then she talked to me another time. You coming out for a smoke? And I said, no, I don't smoke.
Which is a really silly thing to say. No, it's just... To be fair, at that time, I didn't really want to be around people that smoked. Because I stopped.
You know, for about two years. And I just didn't want to be around people smoking. Not men or women, as much as possible.
And I really fancied her. And then, yeah, shortly afterwards, I left. I left the company.
And I saw her in Sainsbury's. And I said hello to her. And she didn't know who I was.
Seriously, it was embarrassing. I said, I worked with you in Churchill. No, I don't remember you.
Seriously, that's what she said. And, yeah, probably it was a couple of years afterwards. I'm glad I made a good impression.
But I dreamt about her. I was kind of thinking about her the other day. And then I had this dream.
I had this dream, right? I was there, and my little brother... He's not little, but he's my younger brother. He had his girlfriend, a new girlfriend. And she was his girlfriend, this girl.
And the whole dream was very weird. And I kept saying to other people, I know who she is. I know her.
And the dream was very chaotic. So I can't really kind of remember a lot of it. But at one point during the dream, I had the realization that actually, if that was the same girl, the same lady, she would look a lot older.
Because it's 18 years ago. So she was 22 then. She'd be 40 now.
Or she'd be like late 30s, 39, 40, something like that. She's not going to be looking 22. She's not going to look the same.
And I thought, wow. And I started to think, I'm living in the past. I've got to let that go.
How strange. It's weird the way it works out, though, because Facebook... Because I was pretty good friends with... A couple of people at the place I worked at came in contact with a couple. And there was this another girl there.
She was... I think she was 19, I think. 20, something like that. And I really liked her.
But we just were friends. But we got on really well. And she actually asked me a couple of years ago if I could do some hypnosis with her.
So that was... I said no. Because... First she wanted to help with losing weight. A bit of weight loss.
And I've kept... I don't really do that much. I've tried to keep away from that, simply because I just... There's something wrong with the picture of someone that's overweight doing hypnosis with someone to help them lose weight. I think it's okay on a recording, but in person, it almost feels... It's incongruent, isn't it? It's... You know? I mean, I'm not like huge.
I'm not... I don't need an electronic car to drive around in, like a golf cart thing. But I'm definitely not skinny. And the second thing is I was living in that little dungeon room.
Little mouldy room that I was in. And I was embarrassed because she'd have to come there. Well, that was the only option, really.
Unless I went to her. And I was embarrassed to have anyone go in there. So I kind of said no, I can't.
I had a little bit of regret because it would have been lovely to see her again. Never mind. And it really is quite interesting to see how things change because when I was... This is gossipy.
This is proper gossip. There was a girl. I'm going to use the word girl instead of woman.
I'm going to say woman. But they were quite young. But a female.
Female, I said. And there was a female that was dating a friend of mine when I was working at the second insurance job. And then she left him to be with another bloke that was working at the first insurance job.
We'd all worked at the first insurance job previously. This is complicated. And then my friend who was also working at that job she ended up, I think, marrying him.
This bloke. So, you know, obviously the other relationship didn't last. She ended up marrying him.
She was best friends with this blood lady that I was talking about. The one I said, do you want to go for a smoke outside? That I really liked. She was best friends with her.
And I remember seeing her in Sainsbury's. My friend. And she was saying, I don't even remember her.
She gave a physical description and stuff. I said, yeah, I remember. She said, yeah, she's going on a first date with my brother.
And they ended up, this was like, it was like tonight or something. They were saying, yeah, she's going out tonight. And I was, I wanted her.
And they ended up getting married and having a kid. So isn't it, it's... And that's just from Facebook. Just a bit of information I got.
Because I was friends with one of the people. And so I just, I just check what she's up to. I was like, wow.
So yeah, it's, I know that there used to be, like people used to say, oh, time goes really quickly. Oh, so quickly. When you're older.
And I think when I was at school, I used to think, well, I wish it'd go quickly now. Because this maths class is dragging. Why did maths, well, I don't know if it was the same for you, but maths always used to, always seemed to be a double lesson.
A double lesson of maths. What on earth was that about? Oh, Andre must've heard me talking because he's come out of his little, I think he's on date night. So I think he's on a little rest.
You know, he's positioned carrier bags around the flat where he can just like go in them and hide or just, I don't know, he just loves carrier bags. But he's got one now in front of the kitchen. He's got one in the kitchen.
He's got about four in the living room. He's got a few in the bedroom. Just loves carrier bags.
I think that's weird. I do. There's another person I think about, and I know that I'm harping on about the past, but I don't care.
And what was her name? Georgia. I think it's Georgia. I'm not going to say her name.
I won't say her surname because I've got no idea what it was. But she gave me every, there was no questioning whether or not she liked me because she did and she told me in quite a few very obvious ways. But I still didn't do anything about it.
And I don't know why. Because ultimately, if someone likes you, that's one of the biggest, for me, that's one of the biggest turn-ons. If someone actually really likes you, it's like, wow, this is nice.
Depending obviously on the circumstances and stuff. But I did nothing to, you know, she could have been my wife. I could have had like a family with her.
Andre's making something very strange. Oh, he's now licking himself. That's nice.
Did I say that's nice? I don't know if that's really the right words. That's knife. I've got a lovely message on Facebook.
Let me read it to you. What's my Facebook message? Let's hope I don't end up ruining the... No, it's still going. God, if I did that two times in a row, that would be annoying.
So the message. Messages. Okay, here we go.
So I got a message today saying, it's from Michelle. It says, I look forward to your smooth ramblings every night. Helps me relax and focus on your stories when in insomniac mode and awake to hear more after falling asleep.
I especially appreciate how much you love Andre. I too am a lover of animals, of any elk. Keep the mellow modules going.
The mellow modules. Thank you, Michelle. Well... With Andre, right now I don't particularly like him.
When he's making that noise in the background. Do you want to cuddle? Do you want to cuddle? He's just calling up because he wants to be cuddled. Okay.
You can have a cuddle, mate. Are you alright? Yeah? I don't know what he's up to at the moment because he seems to want to go out. But it's cold.
I said to him, it's way too windy to go out. We've had pretty torrential kind of rain today and well, I don't know, hard rain and a lot of wind the last couple of days. So I've not taken him out at all today or yesterday.
And I think he wants to go out. And I kind of want to go out. But at the same time, it's nice to be indoors when the weather's a bit rubbishy.
Rubbishy. Hello, baby. You alright, baby? You were very rude when you made that recording a couple of days ago.
You think it's so easy just to sit and talk for an hour, don't you? Well, it is, but that's besides the point. How? You said some really rude things about me, Andre. Yes, you did.
Yes, you did. Give me kisses. You're going to give this a sneeze.
Give Daddy a sneeze. Give Daddy a sneeze. Go on, before you go.
Before I let you go, give Daddy a sneeze. He does that. Go on.
He's such a wiggler. Really. All has to be on his terms.
If he wants a cuddle, like yesterday when I was making that recording, he wanted to get up, he gave me a cuddle, he was so restless, but after about a minute of cuddling him, he was happy, and then he went back to sleep. Oh, he wants me off him now. You want to go? Okay.
There you go. So yeah, it's been, um... Has he gone to bed? No, he's lying down, though. So this little experiment of being awake during the day and sleeping at night, which wasn't my purpose in life to do, it just happened to occur due to my moods, because I had a few days where I was a little bit hyper, possibly, where I was awake, very awake, for long periods of time, and I'd go to bed and then I'd be awake two hours later.
Not insomnia, because I don't have insomnia, which I'm very lucky I have had in the past, it's horrible, I know, which is kind of why I do this, but I think my worst case is, I'll tell you one of the worst times of insomnia was, I had this job in a pub when I was 18, and those were the days where you had to add up things in your head, you know, the drinks, you had to add them up, there was, the till didn't do it for you, you literally had to put in the full
amount into the till, open the till, put the money in and give them the change, and it would tell you how much change to give back, I think, but it would not tell you, it wouldn't add up the stuff, and that was probably the hardest job I ever had, because I couldn't do it, I just, it wasn't so much the adding up, it was the pressure of having to do it in less than an hour, and you know the ironic thing about it, I think it's irony, I don't know if it is irony, but stupidity
on the part of the customers really, is I would make an obvious mistake, which they knew I'd made, so, you know, I'd charge them maybe, they'd buy a round of drinks, and I'd charge maybe £4.
50, that's a long time ago, I forget, and when I should have been maybe charged £8. 50, so I made, you know, quite a drastic mistake, so what they would do, well they went back to get a refill, so they knew that they'd got, they'd got a really good deal there that I'd messed up, so they knew that, they couldn't have not known that, because these were regular customers, they would have the same drink all the time, so sometimes I'd charge £4. 50, sometimes I'd charge £5. 60, sometimes I'd charge £3.
90, you know, it varied depending on how my brain worked with the additions, and then what would happen, and this happened a few times, and I couldn't ever work it out why they would do it, why the customer would do it, is another member of staff would take their order, and it'd be exactly the same order as what I'd done for them maybe half an hour earlier, and the, you know, the barman or bar lady would say, ah, so that's £7. 50, or however much it, you know, should be, and the amount of times that they'd start arguing saying, no, it's £4.
50, that's how much Jason charged, £4. 50, and I'd say, no, look, and they'd add it up, and it's like, and they'd argue, but Jason charged £4.
50, and they messed it up for themselves, because then all the other bar staff started focusing on them, to make sure they charged the right amount of money, so instead of using that loophole of my incompetence, they messed it up for themselves, and I couldn't understand that, because although mathematically I didn't, I struggled, I did, that's a simple fact, my brain, I still had a brain, and from a logical perspective, I couldn't understand why they weren't just enjoying the free drinks, or the cheap drinks they were getting, so they kind of messed up for themselves,
plus I lost my job as well, but that was, I've got a spot, that's not, that's not right, oh, is that where my glasses go, I took my glasses off, no, it's not, god, at this rate I might have to have a wash, so yeah, I just, when it came to that job, what happened, by the way, if anyone wants a fair bit, please let me know, because I need to get rid of him, he's annoying me today, I can't use my recording studio, or my shed, because I still have to soundproof it, I've ordered
12, 12 sheets of soundproofing, 2 came yesterday, so I'm still waiting on the other 10, and I've worked out that, that will probably, 1, 2, 3, 4, I'll probably do about 3, maybe half of the shed inside, or the first layer, maybe 3 quarters of the first layer, because it's going to have to have maybe 3 or 4 layers of soundproofing, due to the kind of the way the shed is, so, because each, each strip of soundproofing costs, I think 5.
99, or 5.
49, and the good thing about this soundproofing is, these strips is, that they've got an adhesive back, so there's paper on the back, you strip it off, but it's proper adhesive, like really, really strong adhesive, when I tried to use my normal, squares of soundproofing sheets, on the shed, they just fell off, even using a really strong glue, just fell off, which meant I just couldn't, you know, couldn't do that, it wasn't no good, you know what I mean, what can I do, I'll have to get rid of every single carrier bag in the world,
Now we're into Iceland, couple of days ago, and they had a sign on the counter, it's Iceland, I don't mean just the town, I mean the, the shop, Andre what are you doing mate, he's on my chair, he's looking for something, I know what he's looking, he's looking for trouble, are you in the right place, looking for trouble, look right in my face, I was born standing up, and talking back, my daddy always says meh meh meh meh meh meh, because of you, it distracts me when he's doing this, it does, can you hear him,
he's now scratching at the bathroom door, for no reason, now he's climbing through his tunnel, that's in the, the hallway, it's about a, I think, 12 foot or 6, yeah it's about a 12 foot tunnel I think, like a tube that he climbs through, or is it 6 foot, I don't know, but he likes it, he loves it in fact, he goes there every day, he goes in there, I think he likes it because it scratches him, it kind of has a nice good old scratch on his back, yeah, anyway I was in Iceland, I
was at the counter, about to pay for my stuff, and there was a sign, I looked at this little sign, it said, from, I don't know what day it was, March 13th or something, 2020, we will no longer be selling plastic bags, you'll have the option of, I think, fabric ones or something, some horrible ones, and I said, so I got to the, you know I got to the cashier point, and I got my stuff, and I just said, can I just ask you a question, I know this isn't going to be of any interest
to you at all, but, I just want to ask, what happens to all these bags for life that I bought, because I bought a bag for life, for, I don't know, 10 pence or 20 pence or whatever, and, they're supposed to replace them, you know when they weren't going to get a hold in it, you give it back to them and they replace it, for free, he really is trying to wind me up, see that's the thing, my friend had a ferret as well, and he used to do the same thing, if they can't get
their way, they are determined, I don't know if I say they, I mean, maybe that's a racist thing to do, to put every ferret into one category, they've all got their own personalities and stuff, but there seems to be a character, a trait, and my friend's had loads of ferrets over the years, apparently they're so, determined, and just really, have to have their own way, and never give up, ever, although he's a little bit better than he used to be, because, you know, I think perhaps he gets a little bit tired and now he's older,
but when he was a little man, you know, like a couple of years ago, he'd be scratching at the front door, and he would keep going, and keep going for hours, because he wanted to go out, and he'd keep scratching at the front door, or he'd keep jumping up at the radiator, because his lead is on a hook, above the radiator, that's where my jackets and coats and stuff, you know, like a coat hook with hooks on it, a coat rack thing, that's been stuck to the wall, it's a wood, brown, brown wood, and there's
one, I think there's four hooks, four, yeah there's four hooks, or is there three, one, two, I'm not sure, there might be three, but I think there's four, one of the hooks I keep my keys on, and the lead, so it's the same hook, so I keep my door keys, and my lead, his lead, with his harness on it, and that means I never lose the keys ever, because it's always in one place, doesn't mean I never lose the keys, because sometimes I forget to put them on there, which is the only reason that happens,
is when I'm distracted from what I'm doing, because if either Andre, you know I took him for a walk, and he's struggling to get out of the harness, or maybe someone's talking to me as I'm walking back up, a neighbour's talking to me or comes in, and I lose my little routine, doesn't happen, but the keys are only ever in a jacket, or in my trousers or something, I don't keep them in a hat, or in a lunchbox, I don't have a hat or a lunchbox, but I'm saying even if I did, I don't know
if I'd keep keys in there, but I don't think it'd be that, I don't know if it'd be that hygienic, keys in a lunchbox, I'll tell you what was weird, I'll tell you what was weird, about the flat downstairs, it's empty at the moment, but it's locked, the doors are proper sturdy, and you need an elephant on a boomerang, to get through one, and there is this thing, there's people inside there, doing building work, or electrics or something, but you can't keep still for two seconds, by the way if anyone complains, there's too much background
sound, Andre running around in plastic bags, just don't complain, just don't, just trust me, it's annoying me, than it'll ever annoy anyone else more, I'm the one that's, God, damn him, but what he's doing now, now he's licking himself, he's had a bathroom, he's running around, I wish I could get some kind of, I think he's asleep, I don't want him to go to sleep, because he sleeps so much, but when he's awake, he's awake, you know, he's like full awake, bing, and just like, I do take advantage of when he is asleep sometimes, to
make a recording at night, but with these recordings, I don't make the deep sleep whisper recordings, when he's in the room, can't do that, because it doesn't work, and, I prefer, to not have him around, when I'm making recordings, but, when I do these ones, because I, I suppose I quite like talking about him, and moaning about him, and, telling you what he's doing, it's like, he's now climbing onto a, big black, falling apart, squeaky chair, and he's decided that he wants to get up to, one of the shelves, on the bookcase for some reason,
now he's climbed underneath the seat, so the padding on the seat, he's now climbed under it, and I've never seen him do that before, which makes me wonder what he does when I'm in bed, in fact if I wasn't recording this, I would actually probably film him, so he wants, he's trying to get, he's trying to get up, Andre if you want to get up, just climb up my legs, you know how to, it's not difficult, he gets very lazy, he expects me to pick him up now, because he puts both of his hands against
my leg, and then I pick him up, but since I've been doing that for the last, I don't know, couple of years, year or so, now I do it every time, he doesn't put any effort, into actually climbing, can you hear that now, now he's in the kitchen, what can I destroy in the kitchen, now he's at the bathroom again, now he's opened the bathroom door, he's gone in, so he basically lays on his side, pushes the bathroom door open, with his hands, and then he goes in, and now he's out again, so I don't
know what he was doing in there, now he's here again, he's under my chair, come on then, he wants something, but it's like he wants me to know what he wants, so whether he wants me to change his water, which I'll do in a minute anyway, whether he wants new food, although he's got a big pile of food that he's not eaten, that I gave him earlier, I think he's just a little bit restless for some reason, I don't know why, mind you, I get restless and maybe, maybe he takes after his daddy, although I
definitely don't make lots of noise like he does, so we've got the week coming ahead, Sunday today, I've got a couple of things on, I've got a couple of events, not events, but a couple of things I have to do, I've got an appointment, I'm doing a friend a favour, in the early days, I don't know, the next few days, I'm not sure which day, which is annoying, because I do need to know, I need to plan what I do, I'm busy Thursday, and then Saturday is the Tyson Fury versus Deontay Wilder fight, for the
heavyweight championship of the world, so that happens Saturday, so that's something I've been looking forward to for quite some time, so that's good, oh he's now scratching, I can hear him, he's scratching at the storage door, the storage room door, so I don't know what he's trying to do, he doesn't like closed doors, that's one of his things, however that storage room door has pretty much always been closed, so it can't be a surprise to him, he can't be waking up every day and say, I can't believe that door's closed again, I think he should
be used to it, in fact, if a door's always closed, it's not really a door is it, it's more of a wall, kind of, well, he's scratching at it, and I don't know if you can actually hear it, but he can do that for hours, seriously, he's just like one track mind, he's got to get through this door, got to get it open, and he's sniffing something in there, so maybe there's a mouse in there, I don't know, oh, he's coming in, you clearly want my attention Andre, so I'll be glad when my sleeping gets
back to normal, oh yeah, when I was doing the maths, that job in the pub, the bar job, and this is weird, it's never happened since, but it happened every night for quite a while, I'd actually be, I couldn't stop adding stuff up in my head, it wasn't really adding, just numbers just kept coming into my head, and I was tapping the wall, so again I was living in another really tiny little room, big enough pretty much just for a single bed, and a wardrobe, and a set of drawers, that was it, it was pretty
small, but I was just banging and tapping against the wall, and I was waking up, going over these numbers, and yeah, that was awful, that was an awful job, I should never have took that job on, I thought I might meet someone, I thought I might have, well I thought I might just have a bit of a social life, you know, again Andre is, there's a saucepan on the floor, with some water in it, cos he likes it for some reason, so he's, I think what annoys me a little bit, is that he spends, at
least 18, 19 hours a day asleep, maybe longer, intermittently, you know, he does get up, and sometimes maybe 20 hours, 21 hours a day asleep, but he gets up while I'm making a recording, he does it so often, that I think he, I don't know, maybe it's me talking, but I don't think he does it when I'm talking on the phone, no he doesn't, if I'm on the phone he doesn't generally get up, so it must be something about, I don't know, it's weird, I mean he's, honestly, I think he's made more noise, during this
recording, than he has done for ages, he's just going from, it wouldn't, honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if he started, if he turned up with a drum kit, if he started playing on a drum kit, he just, like some cymbals, oh he wants to play, and then, you wanna cuddle mate, he wants me to chase him around, I think he's just got lots of energy, and, I think probably the best thing to do, is to take him into the bedroom, stick him on the bed, and just have a little play fight with him, so,
apologies to anyone for the background sounds, there's nothing I can do about it, I could have pressed pause, and gone into the bedroom, or if I'd have moved into the bedroom, he'd have followed me, I could have locked him, you know closed the door in the bedroom, in here, and closed the door in the bedroom, but he would have been scratching at the door, the whole time, and you'd have heard that, and isn't it weird, isn't it ironic, don't you think, that I've literally got, probably, another 30 seconds left of this recording, and he's gone
into his bed, he's gone into his bag, he's gone to sleep, so pretty much the entirety of this hour, of me talking, he's been running around, causing havoc, I say causing havoc, that's a little bit of, a little bit of drama there, I think, over dramatic, I do believe, he's making a lot of movement, I don't know what he's up to, mind you he's a teenager, so, that's this week, and, just had the bill for the website, so that was $29, I just paid out, for my website, and I don't know when, when the Spreaker
one comes, that's the podcast, I was looking at that you know, the, I've got a special discount, which means, I think it costs, $78 a month, for the podcast hosting, all the different podcasts I've got, but I was looking, and, I'm laughing but it's not really funny, it's, I think it's about $120 a month, that it's supposed to be, so, I hope that they don't, put the price up, when the year's over, and the discount's gone, I hope not, I really hope not, $120 a month is a bit too much, in fact it might be
$150, but I think it's $120, or it might, no I think it's $120 if you pay it yearly, $150 if you pay it monthly, something like that, so wow that's a lot of money, well it's not a lot of money but it's, it's a little bit too much, oh, oh, ooh, ooh, yum, be-dum-dum-dum, so I'm gonna go, and, I wanna do a bit of reading, I wanna do a bit of reading, so that's my plan, I wanna do more reading, I think that's the thing that, will improve my life, but do more, reading more, whether
it's the books I've got, or whether it's on Kindle, whether it's, you know whatever, I just, I feel I need to start, putting a bit more into my brain, I do watch quite a lot of YouTube videos, on certain subjects, like mental health, psychology, you know that kind of stuff, but then I sometimes find myself getting stuck, on watching boxing videos, and watching, you know, stuff from decades ago, big huge fights and stuff, I think I like to have a bit of entertainment, but at the same time I do, I do miss, you know I
used to be an avid reader, I mean, a proper, I could say that reading was my hobby, as well as maybe other things I did, but reading was very much, my hobby, that was the, when I did comedy, that wasn't a hobby for me, that was trying to build something, when I was doing karate, that wasn't a hobby, I was trying to become a martial artist, and I intended to do that for my life, that was, even though I was 14, so it wasn't a hobby, reading was a hobby, and so yeah, kind of like
get back into that a bit more, because I think with the internet I get, there's so many other things I can do, I can learn stuff online, new stuff, and, I've got lots of reference books, and you know, reference material, that I can tap into, as well as the books I've got, so, hmm, yeah, perhaps, perhaps start to read for enjoyment, because I think, yeah, there was a time when I used to read quite a bit of fiction, especially when I was a kid, but as I've got older, it's been very, more factual, textbooky kind
of stuff, so, yeah, I'll look into that, anyway, I wonder if there's a wish list for, kindle books, that people could buy me, could buy me a kindle book, yeah, although, I've started to notice that some of these kindle book prices, it can actually be more than buying the book itself, or kind of equivalent, you get it second hand cheaper, which, doesn't seem right somehow, hmm, anyway, I'm gonna go now, notice that now that I've finished, there's not a sound, not a sound, absolutely, amazing, alright, well take care of yourself, I'll speak to you soon,
remember to be kind to yourself, because you deserve to be happy, lots of love, bye.
