Hello and welcome to Jason Newland dot com. My name's Jason Newland and this is my podcast. It's about being bored to sleep.
So please only listen, yeah it's let me bore you to sleep, that's it, and please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Yeah. It's been a weird day.
It's been a weird day. 9th of Monday, November the 9th, 2020. And I've been in a weird mood today, just generally.
So here's what I've done. Here's what I've done. So I woke up.
Yesterday, I managed to actually make some recordings for the first time in a few days. So that was good. I put the adverts back on because I have to pay for the, I have to pay for the, for running this stuff.
Best will in the world. I can't do it on the money I've got. I have to have money coming in to do that.
And also to promote it as well. So there you go. I, what did I do? It's quite ironic because I did a recording about background sound the other day or yesterday.
I got neighbours downstairs annoying me with the sound that's coming from up there or from down there. I think the problem is I was, for the first, I don't know, four years, I lived downstairs. There was a lady who was very quiet.
And now I've got no idea how many people are down there. And it's not that they're noisy so much just they like to slam their doors and stuff like that. I haven't quite figured out how to close the door yet.
And it's just, you know, when you hear stuff in the business like just a little bit, I think it's more so when I'm trying to make a recording. The rest of the time, I don't think I'm that bothered. But that's not really why I was in a grump.
I basically I, I, I, yeah, so I got up, I didn't do a huge amount during the day. It's now just before seven o'clock in the evening. And I received some of the money that I was owed last night from one person and another person I still hadn't received the money that they owed me that I was supposed to get Friday.
So what I thought is never lend money again. That's it. I said that many times before and I always end up lending money.
But then I thought no, you know what I'm gonna do? I sent a text to the person that owes me money. And I said, keep the money. In fact, I'll tell you exactly what I said.
I'll actually read it to you. Jason here. Don't worry about paying me the money you owe me.
You can keep it take care and have a good life, Jason. So that person is now gone. So for the sake of 90 pound, whatever it was, I'll never be asked to lend money to them again.
And so that was that was on me I offered to lend money. So they didn't even ask me I offered to help them out. So you know, I'm not doing that again.
That's done. I put money in an envelope for my other friend who gave me the money last night. And I gave that back to him.
And I said, put it through his door said, you can keep that. I'm never lending money to anyone again. So you might as well just keep that.
I just wanted to put an end to this lending money for good. And then I stuck signs all over my front door saying do not knock on my door. Unless you're delivering.
I got duct tape and I've covered the knocker sign. Yeah, I said knocker without laughing. And I thought I'll stop anyone I want anyone knocking on my door ever again.
And I think oh, I have to go out. I have to go and get some something from the shop. Probably so you know, I get myself ready and there's a knock at the door.
So I answered doors my friend, and he came in he said, Did you put this through my letterbox? I said, Yeah. I said, What is that? So I was just let I just said, he didn't open it. But I said, Well, I told him what was in the letter.
I'm just, I'm not lending money anymore. And you might as well just keep the money. And he said, No, I don't want it.
And he gave it back to me. And then he said, Can you do me a favor? I said, What's that? It's part of the reason having the signs on the door so I didn't have to do favors. But he wasn't very well.
And he said, Can I go to the garage for him? And he gave me some money and I was going anyway. So it's fine. So when do I take a dog with you? No.
But I took him anyway. So here's me got me trousers on walking the dog. He's uncontrollable as far as if he wants to go to the right or to the left.
He's going and he's so strong. You can't stop him. I suppose I should feel sorry for the neighbors because they must have hearing issues.
If they got their TV so loud. They must have like a hearing disorder or something. So I shouldn't really get angry.
I just feel compassion, compassion. And what was it? Yeah, so I'm walking him I've got my trousers on got me jacket. I'm walking him.
He gets I've been walking for about a minute. And he's doing a poo. So I picked that up.
It's a struggle to bend over and pick it up to be honest. And he's trying to walk away. So it's a balancing act.
Trying to keep him from walking and pulling me over. But I managed to get the poo. Luckily, it's near the poo bin, put the poo in the bin.
Feeling sick the whole time. It's just disgusting. I don't love the dog enough to do it without feeling resentful.
With Andre, I'll pick his poo up. I don't like it but I don't feel resentful. But this dog.
Yeah, he's a lovely dog. But he's like it. There you go.
I do not like picking up poo. Andre, I clean up his stuff. But he's my baby.
It's a different thing. But I would never get a dog. Not now.
Because I never picked poo up before. Until this dog that my friends got. And after experiencing that way too many times.
No, I don't think that's the right thing. I do not like it. Don't want it.
And the bending over is a little bit of a strain on my back if I'm honest. It's a bit of a stretch. Anyway, so far so good.
There's no other dogs around which is a good thing. Because this my friend's dog doesn't like other dogs. He's on a lead so he can't do anything.
But if another dog comes towards him, he will grab it. Because he feels threatened. So, and unfortunately, the park is full of people that like to let their dogs run wild.
And a bit brainless really. I mean some dogs get on with each other but this one doesn't. And they're, who knows.
I don't know what's going on in their heads. But they should know by now. But anyway, I get inside the park.
He's doing another massive steaming turd. So like yeah brilliant. This is great.
I'm loving this. This is the highlight of my life. And I go and I pick it up.
You know, standard thing. I'm trying to crouch over but hold him at the same time so he doesn't pull me over. And yeah.
He's so strong. I can't. I mean I'm not weak but he's strong.
And I bend over to pick the poo up. I managed to get it in the bag. But as I'm bending over, rip.
My trousers rip open completely. Basically from the bottom of my spine to the back of my ball bag. It was that much of a big rip.
I was worried for a second because I felt it in my body. I felt the vibration. I almost thought, oh no, have I ripped something internally.
Luckily it was just the trousers. So, you know, I put the poo in the bin. Another bin in the park.
And I have a little play of me bum. Not a little play but a little look to see kind of how big the crack is. No, not a crack.
You know, the split. The split. Big, big split.
Unable to wear those trousers ever again. But I'm halfway to the garage at this point. I'm not turning back.
I'm not taking that dog out again after this anyway. But I'm not, definitely not going to be, I'm not going home and then bring the dog out again. So I'm halfway there.
I think I'll just continue the journey. I had a long coat on so hopefully that was going to cover it up. And then as we're getting further up, not far from the main road, he does another big steamy.
It's like these big sausages that he gives birth to. So it's quite, they're quite easy to pick up in a sense. But I mean, if you put the three, the three loads together, you could probably have made, you could probably have, yeah, sort of moulded a little baby.
Seriously, that was that, that amount. Very smelly baby. The thing is, when he, when he does it, when he does a poo, he leaves his anus open.
He lets it air and you can smell it for about another 10 minutes. Especially if he's walking in front of you. You can't have him walking behind you.
If he's walking in front of you, he's like, honestly, this big cave, flappy cave. Anyway, so I picked that one up again. This time, I've got people looking at me.
For some reason, there's people with a dog across the road. He, the dog, the dog I'm with is staring at that dog, wanting to have a fight or whatever. And there's some bloke standing outside his garage staring at me.
So I'm not sure if I shouted it out, but like, what are you staring at? I said it to the dog, but loudly enough. I said, what do you think he's staring at? So I have to bend down again to pick up this poo. But I have to bend down in a way that the people that are staring at me can't see up my bum.
So I have to turn around, literally walk on the grass and crouch down like, well, it probably looked like I was about to do a poo myself. But I was doing all my life, like a leg exercise, crouching down, keep me back straight. So I picked it up, but facing the way away from people so they couldn't see me bum.
Anyway, I pick his stuff up. So I've got it in a black bag. Now where do I put it? My first instincts was go to the if it's the rude man, I could just chuck it at him.
But then I thought, oh, this is a, there's a rude man in the garage behind the counter. Always rude to me. It's just miserable.
Is there anything in there two nights ago? Order must just, you know, put some stuff. Hello there. And he's like, yep.
How much is That's it. The person behind me who didn't even have a mask on. Walked up and the same man who's behind the counter said, hello, buddy.
You all right, mate? How you doing? So I come out of the garage and I'm in shock. I take my mask off and I just stare at him through the window. So not only are you being miserable to me.
You're purposely being extra nice to other people in front of me. In order to remind me how much you dislike me. And I've done nothing to you.
I wouldn't mind it if I'd, you know, done a dirty protest on his front door or something, you know, if I'd done something to him, but I've done nothing to him ever. It all stems back to Andre and the garage didn't like me taking Andre in with me. This is when he was a baby.
When I first used to go in there. So this is like five years ago. Okay.
So I take him in there and they didn't like it. We can't have him in there, bring him in a bag, put him in a bag. So I did.
I put him in a bag. Still didn't like it. And once I forgot the bag and I put him under my jumper or under my coat or whatever.
And this miserable git that's always miserable. He said to me, I can see you've got your ferret under there. I see you hiding him.
I said, I'm not hiding him. I'm putting him under there so that you don't faint with whatever it is that's going on with you, with confusion that there's other species on the planet and that, you know, it's not a cat or a dog. Oh, how could you be carrying a different species if you're not a cat or a dog? Oh my God, it's a giraffe.
It's an elephant. That's a ferret. It's a ferret.
Oh no, it's a crocodile. It's almost I want to get some cymbals and just hit him over the head between his, you know what I mean, the ear to see if that would kind of buck him up and get his brain working again. But that would be assault.
And of course, I wouldn't do that. And however much fun it might be. And he's just so since then he's been rude to me.
And we kind of had an interaction at that time. He said, you shouldn't be bringing him in here. I said, I'm going to be bringing him in here.
And no matter what you say, I'm going to continue to bring him in here. That's what I said to him at the time. I said, he's my little boy and I'm bringing him in here.
And there's nothing you can do about it. And he didn't like that. But I said it nicely.
I mean, what he didn't realise is I was going to give him a big hug and kiss at the end of it. But then he got the up with me and sort of walked off. So you missed the best part.
I use some mouthwash, especially for the kissy kissy part. And admittedly, I took off the shelf and used it and then spat it back in and put the lid on and it back on the shelf. But that's not the point.
It was the caringness behind it. Don't you think? Anyway, so he's a miserable old git. And I tried to be nice to him.
Tried to be nice to him. And he's just so miserable. There's another one in there.
We he's looks like he's probably an ex-boxer. He's really he's got a he's got a sort of face that you'd know like not to mess with. So he's rude.
He's okay with me, but he's really quite rude with my friend and different people that have been in there. And it's just really, really rude, but more verbally than the other one. The other one's just rude as in, yeah, that's my says the price not hello.
No, thank you. That kind of stuff. Now I would understand it if he was from another country and had never learned to say thank you, or please, or didn't understand the the courtesies of the country like I don't understand the courtesies and the traditions of pretty much any country other than this one.
So some people you I've met so many people from other countries that really make an effort with the thank you and please to the point where they they say at the wrong times. So this is an English person he knows that you say thank you and you say please. That is anyone that's not from England.
That is how it is. That is, you know, in America I see on TV shows where someone walks up to the bar and says scotch and soda. And that's it.
That's all they say. And the person brings them a scotch and soda and doesn't even ask for any money. That's a bit weird.
And then they pay at the end. No, it doesn't happen here. Now if you walked into a bar, a pub in this country, I guess unless you knew the person really well, and they knew what you wanted anyway.
But if you just walked into a pub or a bar and said, yes, scotch and soda or pint pint of lager, then you'd get at the very least a bit of a chilly reception. And a few heads may turn. Because first of all, you missed out the please.
First of all, you missed out the hi. And can I please have a scotch and soda or a pint of lager or a glass of your finest wine, landlord? You don't, you know, you don't say, yeah, a glass of red wine. Do not do not say that.
So if you're from another country, and you think that's how to order stuff, that is not. You have to say thank you and please in this country. We're brought up.
You don't have to mean it. Of course you don't mean it. People in shops don't mean it when they say thank you to a customer that's just bought some petrol in a garage.
Or they're saying it's not a personal thing. Thank you ever so much for buying petrol. You've kept me in employment by purchasing the items that this particular employee, employer of mine, rather, offers for sale.
And if you didn't purchase said articles, and other people didn't, then perhaps I wouldn't have my job. So I'm sorry, this is thankful. No.
We say thank you, because it's manners. Manners. Manners.
And it's false and it's fake. But it's no more fake than have a nice day. That's false and that's fake.
Unless you mean it, then it's not. But I've seen that again in, especially with YouTube, opened up so much new stuff for YouTube did when it first came out. And Facebook, you got to see, got to see more of other countries and how they interacted in reality, rather than on a TV show, or in a movie.
And the have a nice day seems to be quite often used sarcastically, in an argument. And the difference is, I think in America, I've seen videos of people having full on rows arguments that in England would not happen. And I'm trying to think why is that? Why are they able to row and go on and on and on and on and on for like 10-15 minutes, really shouting each other without a drop of blood, without anything.
And I figured it must be because there's that fear of guns. We better not do anything because that person might have a gun. So let's not, we don't want to accelerate it.
Here, people aren't scared of guns, because we don't really generally have guns in the street. Police have guns. They'll walk around, some parts of the country do, London, cities, they walk around with guns and holsters.
So if you're in other countries thinking, all the police in England, they don't say, they don't have any guns, all they have is a whistle. No, no. I think Robin Williams said it quite funnily, in his, he used to make fun of the English police saying, in America, we've got guns, in England, they've got, you know, nothing, just a whistle.
So it's like, stop, or say stop again. This was his line. So they do have tasers now.
All the police generally have tasers, and they use them like guns, they're not supposed to. They're supposed to only bring them out in an emergency. But I've seen them just bring them, pull them out as a threat.
And that's not what the reason was for. They were there to unarm people. So someone pulled a weapon out, they could pull their taser out and taser them, or someone was being really threatening.
Now they seem to use them. And that's the thing I see. Documentaries where you've got police doing stuff.
And like real life film footage of the police in their day to day activities. And the whole kneeling on people's heads and necks and backs, and tasering them when they don't need to be tasered. And because they show that stuff in these programs, it normalizes it.
You know, the over exaggerated force that the police use is phenomenal. Now, I wouldn't mind if someone's attacking me, I'm happy for the police to shoot them. And you know, I'm happy the police to turn up with machetes.
I don't mind. I don't care what happens to the person. Someone hurts me, or my family, I don't want them.
I'm quite happy for them to be evacuated from the planet. I'm fine with that. Yes.
But they're very, very forceful on those programs. So I think that's why they show them. Because it normalizes it.
So no one questions it when they see it in real life, when in fact, they're not supposed to be doing some of that stuff. And this whole kneeling on someone's neck, police have been doing that for years and years and years. It's not a new thing.
Someone, you know, there's a fatality. And it's like, look what the police are doing. Police have been doing it for years, years and years.
And not just on a person because of the color of their skin. They've been doing it on people all around the world. Regardless, they've just been doing it.
Because it's a really good way to keep someone on the floor. Because if they can't breathe, they can't fight. It's horrible, but it's true.
If they can't breathe, they can't fight. If they can't. So they just did it for too long.
Something that police have been doing for years. If you watch any film, that footage I've seen where the police are literally punching and kicking people while they're on the ground. Like, why is that allowed? Why is no one mentioning it? Anyway, so we've got this bloke in the garage.
I didn't chuck the poo in. But little fantasy, no harm in a little fantasy. So what did I, I managed to dispose of it.
I mean, the bag is an ecological, ecologically disposable. So it breaks down. It's not like, I think a lot of poo bags for animals are.
They're not like rubbish bags, like little miniature, although he does need a whole big, massive rubbish bag for the amount of dump that he provides. But they break down. So you can actually chuck them in a field, not supposed to really, it's a little bit crappy, I suppose a little bit, but they do break down.
So they're not harmful to the environment. Saying that though, I had someone up here the other day. And they said, look, is Andre okay? And he was running around and he had his neck caught in a, you know, the plastic, the four packs of beers go in the plastic at the top, and you rip one out and you rip another one out.
You know, it says four rings. He had his head stuck in one of those. Now, I suppose it could have easily been a four rings of coke.
I do buy, buy packs of coke. But that was that was from those beers was from like the weekend or the weekend before I must have left the plastic ring out there. And I'm thinking, wow, this is like nature, because he couldn't get it off him.
He would have done eventually. But it was, it wasn't wrapped around his neck, as in tight or anything. But I was thinking if it wasn't for me, helping him out, if he'd been in the wild, he could have been walking around like that for the next five years.
And then that plastic gets caught on something else, and then he's stuck. It's horrible, really. I actually really, I felt a bit like David Attenborough there for a few minutes.
And I just thought, I was so tired, because the thing is, when you're being David Attenborough, it's hard work, because well, being 90 years old, 95 is draining. So I have to stop and get back to being myself again. There is need to change the environment.
We need to do this. Why are you worried, David, you're not going to see it. You're not going to see the benefit of any changes.
Oh, that's wrong. So going to the garage, Grumpy, Grumpy McGrumpy was not in there. But there was an equally grumpy lady.
I think it's that places just turns people grumpy. Went in, ahead of me was a lady with a mask on with a son that didn't have a mask on. And the boy must have been I don't know, 10, 11, 12.
Didn't have a mask on. I don't know what the situation considering we're in lockdown. What is the rules on that one? But anyway, I've got my stuff.
Just got some cokes and I had to order while I needed to get a bottle of vodka for my friend, give me the money to get it. So I went up there. I said please can I have I wrote down a piece of paper.
I don't drink vodka. So I don't know what any of the names of stuff is. So I wrote it down.
And it was Glenn's Glenn's vodka. So I said, Hello, she said, I said, Can I please pay for So I'll pay for these two, these cokes for me. Six cans, four cans of coke.
Yeah, two packs of four. It was over nine pounds. Seriously, four cans of coke in the shop up the road was quite distance is about two pound 40.
So I spent about four pound more than I needed to. Such a rip off. That's my local shop.
We start drinking coke then. Let me do something enjoyable. Please just one thing.
It's one thing. Enjoy them all. So I'm at the counter and I paid for those and I said, Now please, because I had two bottles of coke for my friend couldn't get a big bowl.
So I've got two little ones. I said please can I have a bottle of look at the paper. Glenn's vodka.
She said a bottle. Yeah, Glenn's for what's Glenn's vodka. So it's behind you.
It's on the shelf. GL yeah, I didn't spell it. I didn't spell it.
But I wanted to. I mean, I just wish I had a picture. Maybe if I had my phone on me, I could like show her a picture of it.
Maybe she could have found it then. So she looked behind her. And she said Glenn's vodka.
Glenn's vodka. I know she's not from England. But you know, she's seemed fine in the past.
I don't I'm not saying that she's not okay because she's from another country. What I mean is most of the people there from I think there's only one English person works there. And so the rest of them I think East Eastern Europe somewhere Poland or whatever.
And I've always got on well with them apart from that there is another English person two English people. And both of those were always grumpy with me. One's now friendly to me, the lady didn't used to be and now she is.
I don't know how that turned around. But who knows. But I was like, and this woman I was speaking to asking for the Glenn's normally she's really cool.
So I don't know. Maybe she was having a bad day. And I said, Glenn's vodka.
I know it's and I know. I know it's a cliche. It's a cliche.
I realize the cliche what I'm about to say. But Eastern Europe should know what vodka is. Vodka.
Not everyone's from Russia. You know, that's Russia you're talking about. No, I think you're fine.
I've I've known a lot of Polish people. Vodka is very well known in Poland. Don't give me that.
I know that vodka is a popular drink in Poland. Anyway, you can argue that with me all you like, because I don't care whether it's true or not. Eventually, she says she gets a bowl down.
And it's a half bowl. I said, I know it's can I just have a whole bottle, please? And she said, this is a bottle. I said, I know it's a bottle.
But it's I'm starting to question myself. Am I doing it wrong? Am I? Am I the wrong type of human? Am I not quite grasping the the, you know, the tiny components of communication that's required to purchase some vodka for a friend at a petrol station? So I'm just like, no, I'm kind of the big bowl, please. This is a bottle.
I know it's a bottle. It's quite well, yeah, it's quite big. I suppose it's not I mean, it's not miniature, is it? It's not like a tiny little vodka.
But it's the large one, please. And she pointed to the large one. I said, yeah.
Yeah. Please. Oh, I'm starting to cry.
Honestly, I'm starting to. I'm not far that four or five minutes from praying. So she said, oh, she got that down.
And then she said, for both of them. Both of them? Why would I want both of them? Why? Why would I want both? She said, I don't know. Oh, no, sorry.
Thank you very much. But just the one bottle. No, no, no, no.
The bottle. Put the smaller one back. I want the big one.
She charged me for it. And I said, thank you. Love you.
See you when you get home. So I'm, you know, I'm out of there. Dog's all tangled up.
So I've left the dog outside, stuck to a post. Dog's all tangled up. And then a little drink.
I'm walking back. The lorries are about five inches away from my body as they're driving past me. I'm on a pavement, tiny little, it's not a proper pavement.
And the dog's on the left of me. If he decided to push me, I'd be in a road. He has the physical ability to push me in the road.
He's so strong. There's been times I've been, I've had him up here. I've been cleaning my teeth in the sink.
I don't, my teeth are not in the sink. I'm brushing my teeth. And he walks and literally walks between me and the bath and slide, and my feet slide along the floor because he's that strong.
So I know that if he decided, if there's a dog the other side of the road or whatever. So I'm trying to keep him as close to me as possible. Trying to keep away from the traffic that's very close to the pavement.
And I'm looking for a place to cross over. And there wasn't any. So in the end, I got to the intersection bit.
So there's a place where you can cross and you can stand in the middle and then cross the next bit. So I went there and I waited and no cars stopped. Lorries are usually a lot better at stopping than cars.
But even so people generally, it's usually someone stops and nothing. So I stand in the road and people still didn't stop. So I pretend to go to cross and people still weren't stopping.
I couldn't believe it. So eventually someone did stop because I'm sitting here. I'm not in the road making this recording.
And as I cross over, eventually get to the other side of the road, which is usually the end part of the crossing the road story, isn't it? You get to the other end and then let's move on with our lives. I walk back towards the park. I go to see if that man still standing out of his garage staring at me, but he's not.
I'm such a grumpy arse today. And I think I just want to get home. I realize my back's hurting now.
Now I've been doing exercises all week. I do weights, stretches, you know, I take painkillers and everything for my back. My lower back has been really problematic for a long time, but it's been getting worse.
So I'm trying to do something. I'm trying to be proactive with it. I can reduce physical pain with hypnosis.
So I know I can do that, but I also want to be able to, I mean, when I'm not moving, it doesn't hurt. It's when I'm doing movement. It's only what I've been doing.
I've been doing these different exercises and I've got another weight bench coming. So I'll be able to do other exercises with my weights. And as I'm doing it, the rest of my body's kind of building up a bit.
And I feel, I noticed the muscles getting a bit more muscular, which is nice. And I think that's the reason why my trousers split. Okay, bear with me.
Don't run away. Come back. Come on.
So I'm sitting down. I can tense my buttocks. I'm sitting down.
I can tense my buttocks, both of them individually. So it can't all be fat, can it? I'm not pretending there's no fat down there. I'm not pretending.
I'm not even going to even, I know that I've got some fat on me. I have, I'm not going to, I've never hid that fact. So anyone out there that's in love with me and the fat is going to reduce.
I'm getting more muscular. I'm doing weights. I'm training.
I've got, I've got kind of building up a bit of a little gym in my house. I've got my bicycle, which it's been making a really lovely clothes rack. I know I need to use it at some point.
And my back's been pretty good for a few days or like less, less, uh, problematic. And then I realized pulling him, carrying the bag of stuff. And there wasn't that much stuff in the bag.
You know, a bottle of vodka, a couple of crates of Coke or a couple of, like eight cans of Coke and two bottles of Coke. It's not heavy. My back was hurting, hurting.
So that makes me, if I wasn't grumpy before, I would have been by now. That's how I'm thinking. Uh, and it's the dog, the dog pulling me from side to side.
Um, he's just, it's not good for my back. It's not good for anyone. It's like, it's not good for your shoulders, your wrists.
He's continuously pulling from one bit to another. And he's so strong. And if you met him, he's the beautiful dog.
He is beautiful. Lovely dog, so gentle, kind. And he'll cuddle you all day long.
So, you know, he is lovely. And if you saw him being walked and you think, why is that person getting angry with him? He's such a beautiful dog. Why are you being so grumpy and moaning at him? And that's what you'd think.
And you'd probably say, well, let me, I'll take him for a while. You just walk, you have a rest, calm yourself down and I'll take him. And you'll, you'll take the lead.
And he'll pull your arm out of your socket, probably within about five seconds. And he'll pull you all over the place. He'll pull you onto the grass.
And you get to realize very, very quickly why the person is not enjoying the walking process with his dog. And that's the situation with that dog. He's lovely apart from taking for a walk.
If he's let, if he's let go, if he, if he can run free, happiest dog in the world. But aren't all dogs happy if they can run free? And he's not threatened by other dogs because of another dog. He just runs, runs away from them or runs past them.
He's not threatened by a dog because he's basically a really tough dog and he knows it. And he's been in this, he's a rescue dog. And my friend thinks that maybe he's had a few owners and perhaps like a long time ago, might have had some, even, you know, had some problems with other dogs, which is why he's like he is now.
Lovely with people, not a fan of dogs. So I'm walking through the park. What do I see? A dog off its lead, running towards the dog I'm with.
Now, if this dog gets within grasping range, it will be grabbed. By the dog that I'm with, because he feels threatened. That's, that's the only reason he'll feel threatened.
And this dog is running towards me, then running back, then running and coming. And it's only a little dog, lovely, beautiful little dog. And this woman, she's got two of them.
One's off the lead, one's on the lead. And I shout to her, first of all, can you put him on the lead, please? And she shouts at me, keep walking. I said, no, put your dog on the lead now.
And I just stand there and I'm holding the dog. This dog keeps, the other dog keeps running towards me. And I say, look, if you don't come and get your dog, this dog here will have him.
There's nothing I can do to stop it. I won't, I don't want it to happen, but you've got to come and get your dog. I can't deal with both of them at the same time.
Eventually she got hold of the dog, put it on the lead. She had to ride up with me. And I shouted, thank you.
Wasn't too difficult, was it? It's like, and this same person, she does it. She's done it so many times. And in the past, I've been with my friend and he's had the dog.
And I've actually had to go and shoo this little dog away. So I've actually held it until the person comes and gets it. And she still hasn't learnt.
So now in those situations, if I'm with my friend and he's got his dog, it is other dogs off the lead. I just walk ahead. I want nothing to do with it.
Let him just walk out. But when I'm holding the lead, I have to take responsibility for whatever dog I'm with, whether it's my dog or not. And I take that very seriously, kind of.
And, you know, I would, in all fairness, I wouldn't let him get to the other dog. I would have put my hand in his mouth rather than him bite the other dog. But that's just how I am.
I wouldn't allow it to happen. And that other dog's a beautiful little dog. But this owner didn't understand.
Couldn't grasp what I was trying to portray to her is, I'm trying to protect your dog. That's what I'm trying to do. And you're not getting it.
My dog's on a lead for a reason. Your dog's supposed to be on the lead. A leash, lead, whatever you want to call it.
And if it's not on a lead, it doesn't matter if the dog keeps away. Honestly, all the dogs can be off leads and it won't affect the dog I'm with because he's on the lead. He can't get to them.
But as soon as they come to him, it's a different matter. So there are some dogs which ain't got nothing to worry about because they're not interested in coming over. And this woman, she was angry.
I said, Karen, they say in America, I think it was like, I was thinking of her, you know, I was trying to protect her and her little baby, her little doggie. Oh dear. It's hard being perfect.
It really is. And so that's kind of what's happened today. I took the signs off the door because my friend said it possibly a little bit too much.
It was a bit overkill, possibly. Don't knock on my door. Please don't ever knock on my door.
Unless you've got big boobs and a big bag, bag of cash. No, unless you don't knock on my door and unless you're delivering. And he said, yeah.
I said, well, it didn't really work, did it? Because you knocked. He said, yeah, I know. But he's got a sign on his door as well.
So it's not, and no one, no one looks at it. People just still knock on his door. It's like almost anyone that goes to the door thinks, well, that must sign must be for everyone else but me.
Everyone else but me. And what other things have been going on? Hmm. So, yeah, I've ordered this thing.
It's in the catalogue. So it'll take probably a few days to get here and then it will be, I'll pay it off then. But it's, it's something that I need.
And it's a heavy duty one. So it's basically, it's a bench that you can do weights on. So you can lay on it or you can lay on it on your front or your back and do press, bench presses or all kinds of different things.
But I looked at different ones and some of them, they don't take the weight. They don't even take my weight. Never mind the weight added on to my weight, which would be the weights.
Like don't, don't use for anything over 100 kilos. Like I'm 100 kilos. For how, what? I'd expect a bench to be able to take up to like 500 kilos.
You know, with people, big people using the heavy weights. Well, I found one and it's a steel body flat bench. So it's very, very sturdy and I'll be able to really work on my back muscles, my chest, my shoulders, with my dumbbells.
I don't have any barbells. I only have dumbbells. So, and also be able to sit down because even on the chair I've got, the chair squeaks a bit when I'm on there.
So to be able to do, to do dumbbells on there as well is quite difficult because with the bench, you can put the dumbbells either side of you in between reps. So for example, if you're, if you're sitting on it and doing, pushing above your head, if you're doing that on a chair, you have to keep putting down onto the floor. This way I can put them onto the actual bench.
And also if I'm doing stuff standing up, I can then just put them onto the bench instead of having to put, go down to the floor every time. So it'll be handy. It's all part of my, I mean, I know there's fat in my butt.
I know it's not all muscle, but I'm wondering, is that, I mean, I've bent over before. That sounds like a weird statement. I've got no actual proof of that, luckily, but I've bent over before.
I've picked stuff up before, including wearing trousers and picking up dog poo. Again, a weird statement. Why is he stressing the wearing trousers? Whilst picking up dog poo? Is it some kind of weird fetish? No, it's not.
It could be, but it's not. So I'm going to pretend that basically my glutes, is it glutes? The bum muscles, isn't it? My glutes have just become so strong that they just tore open my, my trousers. I mean, imagine if that was, that would have been so well-timed, if that had been like in a job interview or something.
You know, it's like, oh, I dropped a pen. I'll just pick, you bend over and suddenly all they see is the trousers pop open and a little whoosh of air comes out and a little fart or something. And it's like, ooh, and you sit down and they say, please don't sit down.
Just, just stand up for the rest of the interview while I open up the window and scream for help. So there's not much else going on, really. Where did he messages? So I want to say hello to April, if April's listening.
And hello to Molly, if Molly's listening. And hello to Rachel, if Rachel's listening. And hello to Vanessa, if Vanessa's listening.
Hello. Hello. Hello.
How you doing? Are you well? Did you know that I sometimes had an unexpected... It was 35 years ago today that I married my hubby and best friend, Bob. Thanks for always being by my side. Hope we have many anniversaries together.
Wow. 35 years. Congratulations, Marilyn.
35 years. That is a quite a long time ago, isn't it? 35. I mean, I was, that was before I was born, isn't it? Wow.
Here's one I've seen in the, it's in I see today forum or page, Facebook page. How do you stop your pets from standing on your bladder? Well, you know what? I'm not going to, obviously Elena is her name, but she's not going to be listening to this probably. But men have another problem with pets.
And I realized that the bladder thing is due to, you know, if you've got a bad bladder and it hurts and stuff. But having a dog stand on a man's balls hurts regardless of their physical health. It hurts every time.
And dogs seem to instinctively know how to aim so that they land on a man's balls. So this is something that men have had to deal with probably for centuries, if not decades, if not weeks. So I suppose you need to be careful, don't you? I suppose if a dog's about to jump up on you, you could stop it from jumping up.
And almost like with your hands, you know, the things at the end of your legs, you could stop it before it gets to your tummy, you know, or before it gets to your balls. So that's what I like to do. I like to, if a dog jumps off of me, I kind of catch it.
And steer it away from that area. Whereby catch it, I don't mean literally in midair, like some kind of ballet routine. I don't dress up as a swan.
But just sort of guide it a little bit. So it doesn't quite connect with the testicular directional area. And then he can be happy, or she, and I can be happy.
And we all can live together in harmony and relax. So that's the end of this relaxation. This sleepy session.
I'm going to go. Remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy. Lots of love.
Bye.
