Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. This is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. I think this is number five but anyway my name is Jason Newland. Please only listen or watch this session when you can safely close your eyes as it may cause drowsiness which is kind of the point.
We don't have to have silence for this, don't have to have complete quiet. I find myself yawning already. I find myself hearing my voice and just automatically starting to feel like just drifting off.
And if there's any background sounds on your side or my side that's okay because it's just sounds the same way as my voice is just a sound. And I'll be talking fairly softly throughout this session and because of the title being Let Me Bore You to Sleep gives me free reign to pretty much just say whatever I feel like saying and to talk about whatever I feel like talking about. All with the aim of you relaxing not just your body, not just the different parts of your body, different muscles that will naturally continue to release and relax.
And even though you may now become a bit more aware of your body feeling progressively looser. You can also notice how your mind starts to slow down and even though I'm going to be saying some useful things to your unconscious mind at times mixed in with stuff that may just sound repetitive or may be pointless or always boring which allows your conscious mind to pay less and less attention to the actual words and maybe more attention to how you feel. Noticing your muscles, relaxing, noticing your mind, feeling calmer.
And Andres just climbed up onto the bed for a cuddle so I'm going to talk to you a bit like the villain from James Bond but instead of being a cat it's going to be a ferret or Dondre. And as I speak to you your unconscious mind can notice certain words and take notice of those certain words like relax, like be calm, slow down, noticing the muscles in your body feeling more and more comfortable, noticing the muscles around your eyes becoming more and more relaxed, noticing the muscles in your forehead become more and more relaxed as Andres jumps off the bed and runs off. As you notice the feeling in your jaw become more and more relaxed, noticing the feeling of your muscles in the back of your neck become more relaxed.
As you notice the feeling of your throat becoming more relaxed. As you notice the feeling of the muscles in your shoulders becoming more and more relaxed. As you notice the feeling in your arms, as your arms become heavier, the muscles in your arms become more and more relaxed.
As you notice your wrists become more and more relaxed. As you focus on your hands and notice the palms of your hands, the tops of your hands and your fingers and thumbs become more and more relaxed. Noticing that your focus of attention is now on your chest.
As you notice your chest becomes more and more relaxed. As you focus now on your stomach, the whole region, your abdomen, any muscles there, the area around your belly button, feel more relaxed. As you focus on your spine, moving all the way down the back of your neck, all the way down your back into your hips.
And the muscles on either side of your spine become more relaxed. Spreading that feeling all over your back. So to the top of your back, the middle of your back and the lower back.
All feels more and more relaxed. As you focus now on relaxing your hips, your pelvic area, noticing your hips becoming more and more relaxed. Becoming even more aware of the feeling sensation of your legs, your thighs, your knees, calves and shins and ankles.
All becoming more and more relaxed. Noticing your buttocks and your groin area, allowing that area to feel more relaxed. And now as you focus on your feet, the bottoms of your feet, your heels, tops of your feet, bottoms of your feet, your toes, feel more and relaxed.
And as we now focus on your mind, you can now allow your mind to wind down. And from counting from 10 down to one, you can allow your mind to become twice as relaxed with each number.
